Gabby's Caribbean Takeaway in Lewisham

Si pudiera dar una calificación más baja, realmente lo haría. Pedí varios artículos y todos eran horribles y los tamaños de las porciones eran una farsa. La gran cola de buey y arroz y guisantes era diminuta y el recipiente era principalmente arroz y la pequeña cantidad de cola de buey que había allí era básicamente hueso. El plátano estaba empapado de aceite, tanto que había un charco de aceite en el contenedor. El buñuelo de pescado salado era aceitoso y de textura similar al caucho, probablemente el peor que he probado. En general muy decepcionante, especialmente teniendo en cuenta la cantidad escandalosa que se gastó en esta comida. Una pobre representación de la cocina caribeña. Nunca más pediré desde aquí

So I attended today with my son we ordered two patties. The sign said £1.50, the cashier before charging my card went in the back and asked how much to charge the person stated £5 in total. The man had my card in his hand and tapped it as I questioned the price. I know it’s change that he has overcharged me by, on sheer principle the fact that my card was tapped without my permission due to allegedly the terminal not being able to reach the counter. I will not be returning. If my son wasn’t hungry they wouldn’t have received my money. During big big black history month & 2023 this business continues to disappoint the community.

I made a big mistake to order from this takeaway again, on my app I mistakenly chose the wrong takeaway, when I realised that I ordered from gabby’s it was too late. I was serverly disappointed because I was no way happy with the last order.the food that arrived today was bland and old looking, I will never allow this mistake to happen again !!😟

Beautifully tasting salt fish patties. The only place around Lewisham to sell amazing proper patties. Wouldn’t buy anywhere else. I’ll keep buying them at Gabbys. Also lovely rum cake and sour sop punch!!!!! Five stars ratings ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I made my order; part of my order included Rice and peas with curry goat. The rice and peas was put in a small flat container, they almost filled the whole container with the rice and peas, leaving a very small space for the curry goat, but before they filled this space with the curry goat they layered it first with the rice and peas, then they levelled it off with the curry goat, I could actually see what they did when I viewed the container. Due to what they did I ended up receiving only a small amount of curry goat. I felt tricked and conned and taken advantage off. I’m a honest person, and what I saw was very disappointing. I know now how to avoid this happening again, for the amount it cost me i should of got my moneys worth.

Quality old school caff in a Peckham that is all too rapidly becoming as drab as the rest of London. Had a huge and incredibly more-ish bottle of Guinness punch and a jerk chicken with amazing sauce, and am writing this on the train back wishing I could have a second teatime!

The curry chicken and curry goat were small portions and were mostly bones. The sailfish fritter was disgusting; absolutely sodden with oil and rubbery. As a West Indian person, I would hate to think that anyone would think of this as a representation of Caribbean food. It was horrible. Save your money.

Honestly it tasted so bland. There was no seasoning whatsoever and the large portions are very small.

The other day, I used a food delivery app, and bought a large meal for my friend as a take away, the meal wasn't big enough, I also ordered coleslaw, and the coleslaw didn't arrive, the next day, I went to speak to a staff member, and he said it weren't his problem, I need to speak to the delivery service, but it's not the delivery service's fault, the shop should've put on the app out of stock if they didn't have the coleslaw. And I heard from ex staff how the food used to go off and went sour, and the manager's still insisted to sell it, and the management had a bad attitude, and didn't want to pay staff for certain shift's. I'll rate the take away 1/10, very disgusting service, never again, if you want proper good quality Caribbean/Jamaican food, go to Grace on lee high road, or Ossies 24hour on walworth road/elephant & castle, much better.

Just ordered front Gabby’s with my partner. We got: Fried Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Plantains, Macaroni and Cheese, and Peppered Prawns. The meal was POWERFUL. Culinary blows to the jaw! The food was hot and presented beautifully. The Peppered Prawns were especially tasty, and the spicy sauce was delicious. The Mac and Cheese was a very generous serving, and made to perfection. The chicken was phenomenal. But really how good was the food? Enough that I would actually take the time to write a review , which I absolutely never do. So treat yourself, don’t cheat yourself, playboy/playgirl, and go get yourself a meal from Gabby’s.

Yum!!! So tasty. Lots of flavour. Good sized portions. I had jerk chicken which was tender, juicy and delicious

The jerk chicken tasted like re heated chicken drowning in bbq sauce and the Mac & cheese was worse. Awful taste. Was just mushy pasta. Worst I’ve EVER tasted. Had to put it in the bin.

The coleslaw smells off and there are bubbles in it. Different colour to the coleslaw I usually get. I am a regular and am shocked. DON'T EAT THE COLESLAW!!!
