Great spot in Fishtown! Im not a vegan, celiac or vegetarian but so cool they incorporate these customer and their preferences into the menu. The food is very single ingredient for the most part and I feel that they do use good products. This place is 100% a solid goto and can be hip for a drink 🍸!

Front Street never lets down! They have a great menu for both vegans and non vegans. Around the holidays, the atmosphere is so cozy and inviting, and the service is always wonderful. I can’t say enough good things. I got the harvest salad with grilled tofu, and the tofu was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend!

STAY AWAY STAY AWAY!!!! It’s disgusting. When I first arrived it wasn’t a long wait at all. The waiter came immediately. She was nice and gave me a minute to order. She disappeared for about 15 minutes. I was looking around I noticed we were sitting directly in from of the bathroom. I was going to ask to be seated at a different table but my other guest said it’s not crowded so we’ll be fine. The waiter came back to take my order and did a good job. Food came out about 10 minutes later. We ordered a FRONT STREET BREAKFAST and the HONDURAN CHICKEN. The front street breakfast was fine but the Honduran chicken ONCE I GOT TO THE BOTTOM OF MY FOOD IT HAD A DEAD ROACH IN IT!!!! A DEAD BUG A DEAD ROACH IN MY FOOD!!!!!!! Manager removed the Honduran chicken from my meal. HOWEVER I’M FOREVER TRAUMATIZE THAT THERE WAS A DEAD ROACH IN MY FOOD!!!!! I WOULD NEVER RETURN TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!! STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY !!!!!! I’M FOREVER TRAUMATIZED!!!!! They also charge 20 percent gratuity in the check with a side of roach. I HATE THIS PLACE!!

We really want to like this place but each time we’ve come in the past year it gets worse. We’ve been here at various times and types of meals and we feel let down each time as the food lacks quality and freshness. We had dinner tonight with our toddler and the chicken tenders were overdone and dry. The burger was cooked as requested but the side salad had a bunch of brown spots and seemed old. We ordered the panna cotta and missed it was vegan - big mistake. It tasted flat and the sauce on top tasted as if it had come straight out of a bag and tasted super artificial. The server seemed annoyed and not exactly in the mood to be at work. We were one of the only people in the dinner room and service was just okay.

My sister in law is allergic to dairy, not lactose intolerant but extremely allergic. I was so excited to show her this place and have her try French onion soup for the first time. They put real cheese on the soup and she had a major reaction. The server was impossible to flag down and once we did she just blamed the kitchen. The manager came out and gave a speech about how they totally respect the vegan lifestyle and when i mentioned it was far more serious than that she just brushed it off. The service then proceeded to take so long that my brother in law walked all the way to the gas station to get Benadryl and the server still hadn’t come back. Then when the bill came back all they did was comp the $10 soup on a table of 7 people. Worst customer service of my entire life. I’ll never go back even if they are the only place left in the city with vegan brunch

Nice back patio on a sunny and cool October afternoon. It's a big space inside and out. I had some kind of fancy burger that was amazing. I ordered it medium rare, and it was a perfect medium rare, which is pretty unusual in my experience. The side salad was simple and excellent. Service was great. The only reason for 4 stars on the atmosphere was the giant commuter tracks running above Front Street. That's just what you get when you pick a restaurant there. Prices were reasonable. I'd go back for sure.

Below Mid. Honestly I don’t get the allure of this place. The food is mediocre (and expensive) at best and ho hum. It’s not worth it. One of the many reasons not to eat out any more. We got the cauliflower and I found it almost inedible. The burgers were subpar. No one raved about their meals and I thought what a disappointment. Also the drinks were flavorless and I was underwhelmed by the whole experience.

I’ve taken friends here for brunch and lunch and enjoyed our experiences but won’t be back for dinner. It started with finding out that dogs are allowed on the sidewalk but not their sheltered outdoor area due to it being a “food prep area” which is good to know. I’m not a dog owner who thinks my dog belongs everywhere, but we chose this spot because of knowing there was an outdoor area. I believe it is classified this way due to the bar that is not being used, but it wasn’t explained further. That was a small disappointment, the real issues were that our brussel sprouts were so burnt that we couldn’t remember what else came in the dish because it was unrecognizable. Our chicken thigh shareable was also pretty overcooked and all cut down the middle, not apart, just a cut to the bone of each thigh, which made us feel that maybe someone in the kitchen was concerned about food being cooked all the way through. This caused the thighs to be drier than expected. The turkey burger is okay but the guacamole was salty. The soup of the day was good. The drinks were pretty good as well. And our server was very nice. Oh also, if you are caught sharing one of the dishes on the Specials menu they will charge you. We didn’t bother to order from that menu partially because we enjoy sharing food when we go out, but we were surprised to see this rule on the menu.

Me and my friends came here for brunch and had a great time. We sat outside and the ambiance is amazing. I got the spicy chicken sandwich, French onion soup, and a pumpkin spice espresso martini. The drink and the soup was amazing and I would order again. But the chicken sandwich was nothing special in my opinion. I also tried some of my friend’s food such as the eggs Benedict and chipotle chicken sandwich and was not a fan. I like that they have vegan and regular options, but the food isn’t classic flavors I’d call it more quirky or healthy vibes. Also a pretty expensive place, but I guess everything in fishtown is expensive.

I thought the food was pretty good, but important to share that my wallet was stolen directly from my bag while dining here with friends for dinner. The manager was somewhat helpful; he said it happens pretty regularly and said he would release cctv to police if they requested it. He didn’t seem pressed to review cctv for me and nothing was comped when I came back for breakfast to talk to him. It’s a great place, but learn from my mistake and be especially careful with your bag if it is slung on the back of your chair.

We stopped here on a recommendation and it was awful. The staff barely acknowledged us, was somewhat rude when we asked a question about their coffee offerings, and then wouldn't help with utensils or napkins when we requested them. To add to that the drip coffee which was serve it yourself and no refills, was $4.25 and had no cream and no stir sticks. It was also bitter and bad. We should have walked out and got coffee somewhere else.

Had a reservation two weeks ago for my birthday and was really looking forward to trying this restaurant after seeing all the positive reviews, however we were disappointed. We sat outside on the patio since it was a nice evening, this was sadly ruined by a mouse running around our table throughout our entire experience. I understand this is outside seating but I have not had this experience other places. We did not even have a chance to bring this up to our server because to our surprise she did not even ask us how everything was, after we finished eating she asked if we wanted dessert, when we said no, she simply handed us the check and walked away without even engaging with us about how the food was and if she could get us anything else. Disappointed by our experience to say the least.

We chose this restaurant for the gluten free options. The menu looked really good and so did the specials. Unfortunately, the buffalo cauliflower dish was inconsistent, some pieces still cold inside while others fine. I also ordered the crab cakes which were very soggy and didn't have much flavor. The string potatoes that came with the crab cake were supposed to be crunchy but they were soft/stale. It seems like most of the food is frozen then quickly reheated, which would explain why the temperature and consistency was off. The food came out SUPER fast which also makes me believe it's frozen and not reheated properly. Too bad, we were really hoping to have a go-to gluten free friendly spot in Philly but likely won't be going back. I had a mocktail which tasted great and our server was so incredibly friendly.

It's sort of like the Urban Outfitters of restaurants: everything looks almost cool and edgy, but it's really just "mid." The interior design stands out, but it's not striking. It's like artificial intelligence read every issue of Architectural Digest and then tried to create something that matched normative trendiness. The beer list is strong, a well curated selection of microbrews (mostly local) that guarantees something for everyone. Reading the menu, you'll think: wow, this place is great. They're killing it on presentation, first-impressions, facade. But then, the food comes, and it's commonplace. Not bad. Nothing to complain about. The burger was pleasant--the raclette and garlic aoli meld into a nice creamy richness that juxtaposes nicely with the juicy-crumble of ground beef. But the pickles didn't really shine through, and the brioche bun was the same as every other brioche bun everywhere. The burger could've used something acidic, sweet & sour like a fancy homemade ketchup, or a caramelized onion jam. The menu says it's a "brisket burger," but it didn't really have melting beef tallow running onto the plate like I'd expect, which suggests it's either precooked, or not brisket. Fries were also lackluster: crispy and salty enough, but no better than the average New Jersey diner. So, it's a standard burger at a luxury price point. We also ordered a steak. Kudos for offering the flat-iron cut, it's highly underrated and I wish more places sold it. They cooked it perfectly, and all the sides were also well-prepared. But nothing was exceptional, nothing stood out. I have barely anything to say about it. It's just a steak, probably USDA Choice, not Prime. Bottom line: there's no reason not to go here if you're looking for a pleasant place to talk with dining companions and eat reasonably good food. On the surface, it seems like a hot foodie paradise, and then once you wade in, the whole experience is tepid. I'd go back, but I wouldn't expect much.

I came here with a large group of coworkers for a celebratory meal, paid for by our bosses. I entered through the corner entrance, thought the interior was quite lovely and rustic, and was then lead to our table outdoors. Mind you, the temperature was about 1,000,000 F that morning, but there was some component of shade and we had cold drinks. I liked our wooden table, it was cool. I thought the menu looked quite thorough and had something for pretty much everyone. I was quite happy with the interesting selection of 3 non alcohol cocktails as I am not an alcoholic. Unfortunately, I cannot say I was quite happy or even happy at all with my brisket burrito. While the portion size was definitely a cut above Chipotle (I had to eat it with a fork and knife), the interior of the burrito was about 85% rice. I did have some pancake which was decent but overly grainy. All together a fine time but not sure if I would return if I were paying.

I wanted to pick up the tab for my table and saw him and asked if I could pay for the table and slipped him $300 to cover the tab and told him to keep the change. Then after the meal, the server came over and handed me the bill. I said I paid that guy and pointed to him. She said his name was Erik and went to talk to him, then came back and said he denied taking my money. I'm not a broke loser like him so I decided to let it go so I wouldn't cause a scene, but this place needs to get rid of this thief. He probably rips people off all the time and gets away with it.

And finally, the best burger I've had in quite a while. Really high quality meat with a lovely garlic aoli. A side salad came with a lovely turmeric ginger dressing. Our server Irma was attentive, friendly and helpful. The background music was just loud enough to offer a cone of privacy at each table, but you didn't have to raise your voice to be heard. Worst meal I had in a long time! My wife and I were with a group of 12 celebrating 2 Temple graduates. We both had the French Onion soup. It was good, but too salty. Another one of said the same thing. I had the Mushroom Rissoto. Also too salty and it felt like I was eating a bunch of mush, instead of a bunch of mushrooms. I ate about 1/5 of it and didn't ask for a doggie bag. My wife had the Parmesian Crusted Eggplant. Once again, salty and mushy. She ate about 1/4 of it. I tried a little of it and it tasted worse than my risotto. She also did not ask for a doggie bag. Anyway, being born and raised in Fishtown, and hearing all, about the good restaurants, I was looking forward to trying one of the restaurants. I'm sorry it was The Front Street Cafe.

First off I think my server was Kyara and she was great. My bf and I sat outside for their pasta special for our first visit. I tried muscles for the first time ever and was not disappointed! The marina sauce was amazing and the toasted focaccia was even better. My bf had a well seasoned turkey burger with turkey bacon and had to keep reminding himself it was turkey, the only thing was the bread was a little too soft for the juicy sandwich and it became a little messy but messy burgers are the best burgers. I had the braised red wine beef stroganoff and some type of mushroom and creamy pesto fusilli (vegan), I’ve never had fresh pasta and I definitely will be back to try the rotating menu!! My Blood orange sangria was light and perfect for my meal. Our biggest take away would be having the best fries we’ve ever had!

Sat in the covered outdoor dining area and they had heaters for the tables since it was chilly. Very good food with beautiful presentation, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing. Highly recommend! Only bad part is finding street parking.

Front Street can be a difficult place to park, However, I was fortunate on this occasion, and someone was coming out as we were pulling up. Other members of our group were not as lucky circling the surrounding area for about 20 minutes before finding parking. The restaurant was full of a lively atmosphere, and tables were filling up fast. There was a wonderful aroma radiating from the kitchen. We sat in the patio area, and the attractive live edge tables did not go unnoticed. I had the Turkey club, which I did enjoy. However, I do wish they did not use such a thick bread choice. Because of the thickness of the bread, the sandwich tasted a little dry, and it was difficult to taste the ingredients in the sandwich (turkey, lettuce, bacon, and tomato). Fortunately, I did order extra garlic aoli mayo on the side (which I was charged extra), however, the extra mayo, which I shared with another party who ordered the same sandwich, helped make the sandwich more palatable. The chicken tenders and the breakfast potatoes with the peppers and onions were not well received. The fries were amazing. Everyone loved the fries. One friend had the baised brisket burrito, which she loved. Other favorites were the cream brulee pancakes and the Turkey burger. If I return, I'll definitely try the shrimp and grits, which looked amazing on surrounding tables and the buffalo cauliflower, which it seemed everyone in the know was ordering.

LOVED my wet breakfast burrito. It was really really good and the spicy sauce on top is *chef’s kiss*. Just a little heat in a well composed burrito. And big! If I wanted to stuff myself, I would have finished it, but ended up just eating half. The server was the bartender and couldn’t attend to us as she was really doing two jobs (prepping all the drinks and trying to keep our coffees full). But the food was so good that it didn’t bother us much. The outside patio is also so relaxing. Perfect on a nice day.

Front Street Cafe in Philadelphia is a beloved all-day spot in Fishtown, known for its versatile menu and comfortable backyard. It’s perfect for any time of day, from a morning latte to late-night eats. The cafe area is great for casual meet-ups, while the backyard with a second bar is ideal for when the inside gets crowded. With affordable cocktails and better-than-expected food, it’s a place that’s universally loved and perfect for literally everyone.

My family and I visited front street cafe while staying in Philly and it was sooo amazing to see so many vegetarian/vegan options! I also loved the atmosphere of the place and the server was so happy and sweet! A little bit pricey, but the food was wonderful, and I was so thankful as a vegan traveling to see so many options for me. Thank you guys!

We celebrated new years eve at the red alligator which included 3 hours of live music, hot and cold buffet and fireworks. Buffet consisted of lasagne, mince and dumplings, chicken curry, peppered beef, hot beef and turkey in gravy, noodles, steak pie, potatoes, mini burgers then some cold items such as sausage rolls and sliced meats including gammon. There was also a dessert table which offered a wide range of cakes including cheesecake and chocolate cake as well as a range of cheeses and crackers. Buffet was absolutely delicious. The singer was Charlotte Foreman who performed for 3 hours taking us into the new year. Brilliant singer covering a range of artists and songs. The place was buzzing all night and everything was perfect from the company, to the staff, to the music. Well done Red Alligator!!

The rooms are as they are shown which I think is still a competitive price. Warm and comfy. Food at the pub was great. Lovely one night stop on a road trip.
