Garden House in Cambridge

We stayed at the hotel for my husband’s birthday. We had a great time sat at the bar. All the staff were lovely and friendly especially Megan and Eryk. Highly recommended.

Eryk was fantastic in making sure we had everything we needed and his positive attitude matched our energy! Great place to enjoy with friends and we will certainly come back!

We ate in a quieter part of the bar, so not hugely atmospheric, and we were not massively adventurous with our food, but it was all surprisingly tasty. Our 9 year old devoured the kids meal! We were served by Megan who was lovely, and extremely competent - her delightful manner made it a really enjoyable evening.

I've visited most of the restaurants in Cambridge over the years, but this one truly stands out as the best. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is delightful, the service is outstanding, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. This place is an absolute must-visit!

We booked our Christmas lunch there and were shocked by the unexpected low level/low quality of the food. Cheap stuff that no cook (I don't dear to use the word chef) with a basic level of self esteem would ever serve. I suspect everything had been bought in bulks and just reheated in the kitchen. The price paid in no way reflected the quality of the food. The venue though is charming. Never again.

Hafya and Jelwika gave us a lovely experience on our 5th anniversary with prosecco on the house. The food was great and the atmosphere was classy without pretentiousness. Only issue was that our table olives were taken away before we were finished with them, but that was not a big deal.

Wonderful meal - as usual - with the family at the Garden House restaurant. Classic dishes always lovingly done (irresistible fish & chips on Friday of course! 😉) & amazing cheddar corn bread with the delicious Butternut squash & cumin soup. Great service from Hafia & all the kitchen team!! Thank you for a wonderful, memorable meal!! 😊

Had the most wonderful birthday here, the food was cooked perfectly in their calm and lovely open plan kitchen. Didn't even quibble about my complex allergies and gave us a treat on the house as it was a celebration. The staff were so kind and hospitable, Hafya was warm and welcoming - as was the whole team. We decided to give this restaurant a try after reading all the positive reviews. However, we were very disappointed with the quality of the food and certainly wouldn’t return. The burger had a very strong cheese which ruined it, and the quality of the meat was poor. The set menu portions were very small.The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff were friendly and provided a good service.

We drove an hour from Northamptonshire to have a birthday celebration lunch and it was well worth the drive. The service from Josip was excellent,he also assisted me with my choice of cocktail , he was so helpful and the food was exceptionally good. I had the pork loin on the bone with trimmings followed by raspberry sorbet and a coffee. Loved the atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant. The seating is just how i personally like it, not overcrowded with tables so you can hear other guests conversations.If you can make a visit, you will not be disappointed and say hi to Josip👌

Called you several times to try and book a table on Christmas Day…No response. Left a voicemail….No response. Sent an email to which you would “respond shortly”…..no response. Yeah that’s not good enough I’m afraid.

Myself and my friends have found ourselves our new favourite spot in cambridge! Not only is the atmosphere and ambience 10 out of 10 but the service was incredibly personable and we found ourselves getting carried away in conversations with both the restaurant manager Hayfa and the waiter Hemang. The two of them alone made this experience memorable let alone the food. I he's the Roast skate wing, which was just insane compliments to the chef i never caught his name but he surely knows what he's doing👌 Overall i couldn't recommend this place enough, it was a breath of fresh air to find an establishment which ticked off every single box

My friend and I enjoyed the Twilight Thursday set menu and health club access. In the restaurant, Hafyal was so welcoming and thorough to ensure my friend felt comfortable in view of dietary requirements. There was a slight delay in our cocktail order as the bar was busy but we were kept updated, and they were delicious when they arrived. Thanks also to Josip for his attentive service.

Was hoping to have a wow experience. Sadly didn't. Disappointed about the Sunday lunch menu, only 1 vegetarian option. Which was roasted veg, so our vegetarian had to have a starter. Service from the kitchen was so slowwww. The restaurant wasn't at capacity.

Rob Squires, who served us, was 10 out of 10 in every conceivable regard! Rob ensured that our overall experience was utterly superb! I can’t commend Rob highly enough! What a star person!

Took my girlfriend here for afternoon tea. Parking was free for guests which was pleasing - the sandwiches and scones were lovely and we even were given some extra clotted cream and jam to take home with our left overs. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion!

I've had several days of fantastic experiences at the Garden House. I'm in Cambridge for a week for work, and have only a little time to explore. I'm a fan of gin, and definitely wanted to try some new ones in the homeland of herbals and juniper. Every night, Elliot and Riley have been helping me choose two to taste for comparison (before choosing one for a full cocktail). Elliot's knowledge of gins and Riley's recommendations have been fantastic. This experience has really made my visit to Cambridge special, in a way I didn't think would be possible given my limited time here. Thank you both.

What a lovely experience! We've been served by Josit and Vaso, who were incredible throughout the whole afternoon tea experience we booked for our first wedding anniversary. The food was delicious, not to mention they catered to my dietary requirements as a pregnant woman. The booking system was also very user friendly, which is where I was able to add notes about my dietary requirements and mention the special occasion we booked the place for. Lastly, the restaurant itself is top notch! Such a lovely decor, clean and giving away this romantic feeling... which we loved! The music wasn't too loud (I hate when that happens) and was according to the ambience - soft, jazz/vintage music that blended with everything else. The bathrooms were also spotless and adorable throughout. We will definitely be back just for the experience! Thank you to everyone in the team.

Tasty cocktails in a smart bar with friendly service from Elliot, Megan and Riley. Among the highlights were the dirty martini, dark ‘n stormy, and old fashioned.

Ismail, Megan and Elliot are the predominant reason I will always gravitate to The Graduate. It has become my go to for meetings, dinners and drinks. Great atmosphere, superseded by the diligent and genuine service. The staff are what makes this place feel like home for me.

Absolutely delicious, fresh and varied cuisine to suit all palates and dietary requirements/preferences. I really appreciated the efforts taken to create some new and innovative approaches to many of the dishes. I had the charred Hispi cabbage with butterbean & sesame hummus and spiced maple glaze; it was cooked to perfection and the medley of different spices and seasoning - in addition to the combination of textures, married together wonderfully to produce a culinary masterpiece! For dessert, I had chocolate hazelnut ice-cream and strawberry ripple; the ice-cream was deliciously creamy and flavourful, with the former having ripples of chocolate syrup and crunchy hazelnuts, and the latter with strands of strawberry syrup/coulis. All the staff - from those at the front desk of the hotel - to the restaurant staff, were exceedingly friendly and welcoming. Our main server for the evening was Hemang, and he did a wonderful job of being efficient, informative and friendly, making sure we were happy with our food during each course. The atmosphere in the restaurant was calming, quiet and ambient, with subdued lighting and beautiful decor. Although not a cheap meal out, it was definitely worth every penny and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

We often go to the graduate for cocktails and Elliot is always super helpful, friendly and excellent at making cocktails! 🍸 particularly negronis and dry martinis. Even when very busy he is charming and helpful. Drinks are always well balanced and served in a lovely glass. The Graduate is a great bar for an afternoon or evening drink, and our dog is also v welcome here! Great river views, perfect spot in the summer and cosy in the winter. We have had many a great Sunday lunch here too and the food is excellent.

Would like to praise/shout out for the amazing service we received. Three brilliant individuals- starting with a caring and charming man named Rob- Haffa was great! She made us feel at ease and recommended some great dishes and finally to the pastry chef Grace for making our anniversary special. Thank you for adding the incredible detail to our deserts! Food was okay but the service was poor. The place wasn't busy and it felt like we were invisible because of the 30min+ wait time to get someone's attention.

Enjoyed a lovely meal at this new Hilton brand in their atmospheric restaurant in this quirky hotel. Our server, Hafya, was spot on in commenting on how lovely the Romanian Pinot Grigio wine we had chosen would be. Great ambience, lovely staff and delicious food. Hope to visit again.

This is a lovely restaurant, with a great drinks menu and somewhat limited food listing. That said, what we chose, a cheeseburger, was terrific. Kudos to our servers Rob S and Elliott.

I had two outstanding men behind the bar, Elliott and I think Kleiv. Both great guys to speak with, and enjoyed the talk about whisky, and general UK issues. They also helped with a few particularly weird issues I had with a client staying at the hotel. Very much appreciated, and hope I run into them again.

Great dining experience and the rib eye steak was perfect and one of the best I had. Hightly recommended. Most important of all Hafya gave a fantastic service and an enjoyable dining experience.

Group of 9 meeting for lunch. Staff were happy to wait for everyone to arrive, have a drink in the garden and come to the table when we were ready. No rushing, or pressure. Table overlooked the river which was lovely. Excellent presentation of food. Meal was very good, although we agreed that Cambridge burnt tart was something we wouldn't bother ordering again. The salads, fish and sorbet were very good. Price of the Prosecco was a bit of a shock but the food was well priced considering level of service and quality of the meal, and we felt OK about the 15% service charge.

We were staying at the Graduate by Hilton and so decided to try out the restaurant - and so glad we did. Hafya, the restaurant manager was absolutely brilliant and friendly with our two year old. We decided to approach it as small plates and went for the lamb shank, hispi cabbage, sea bass and asparagus, buttered spinach, it was all incredibly delicious and the best meal of our time in Cambridge. The desserts were also divine. The chocolate fondant with sour cream ice cream was perfection. Highly recommend.

Hafya and her colleagues saved my day. Our reservation for afternoon tea apparently didn't come through from Open Table, but they accommodated us cheerfully. I had so been looking forward to English tea with fancy little cakes and finger sandwiches and was disproportionately disappointed to find we were too late. It's a silly little thing, I'll admit, but as disappointed as I was that I was going to miss it, I was over the moon when they pivoted to help us. Besides that isolated incident, service was excellent, as was the food, and the large river view windows made for a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere.
