When we arrived at the restaurant, our table was not ready, and we were kept waiting in the lobby for half an hour. This situation upset us, and we thought they could have at least offered us some drinks. Once our table was ready, a very polite and attentive waiter introduced us to the different cuts of meat. He was exceptionally good at his job. They offered us a 15% discount for the wait, which we found to be a very thoughtful and kind gesture. We really enjoyed the meats, the complimentary sides, and the sauces that came with them. We had wanted to try the burger, but unfortunately, we didn’t like it as much as we hoped.

Food was lovely and most of the service was lovely. However, the front of house staff were too busy talking amongst themselves to acknowledge us which we found quite rude but other than that we had a lovely time

We recently dined at Gaucho and had an outstanding experience. We had couple negronies at the bar while we were waiting for our table. I was impressed from the begging, Harry makes best negronies in town. Regarding food, the steak was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and a true highlight of the meal. The sides, including creamy mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables, were equally impressive. The wine list offered excellent pairings, and we chose a rich Malbec that complemented the steak beautifully. What truly set this visit apart was the service from the manager. He was attentive and knowledgeable and made us feel right at home, enhancing the entire experience. If you're looking for top-notch food and service, Gaucho is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!

Lovely place!! Took my mom here for her birthday and they made it super special for her. I would like to thank the staff working this shift ( chris and George) they where so welcoming and lovely. The food was amazing and came out very quick.

One of a kind. I tried a platter full of different steaks and a very nice wine. All were just great, the food, staff, the table and atmosphere. The prices were ok, I mean you should expect steak-level prices when you go there. I'd go there a thousand times again.

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant recently and can say without a doubt that it was an amazing experience. The environment is welcoming and well cared for, with a relaxing atmosphere that makes you immediately feel at ease. The service was impeccable: the staff were friendly, professional and ready to recommend delicious dishes. The cuisine is the real strong point: dishes prepared with the freshest ingredients and surprising flavor combinations. I particularly appreciated the variety on the menu, which combines tradition and innovation with great skill. Each course was a small masterpiece, both from the point of view of taste and presentation. I recommend you visit this restaurant without doubts, the waiter Pavel very kind, professional and polite I will be back soon

First restaurant ive ever been to that doesn't have steak knives for steak. If your going to provide tough and fatty cuts of steak you should at least have proper knives for your guests.

Had the sirloin steak from the festive menu and have to say it was impeccable to the taste buds! Shame its the only halal option on the menu as would have loved to have come more often to try other items but shame.. guess one in a blue moon is ok

Steak was very thin for a sirloin, looked more like a skirt steak. Nicely cooked though. Service was not great, yet they wanted us to pay service charge for a service I wouldn't call acceptable. Food generally overpriced for what it is.

En general, la visita fue agradable, pero sin duda podría haber mejorado. Nuestros filetes eran hermosos y cocinados a la perfección, pero eran los lados que eran una decepción para mí. Como amante de la papa, me decepcionó el puré ya que había sido sobre salado, lo que provocó que el resto de mi comida se contaminara, ya que era todo lo que podía probar. El chimichurri era encantador y la carne de res que gotea salsa era rica y sabrosa. Los cócteles se equilibraron perfectamente y delicioso. Nuestro servidor era genial y nunca estaba demasiado lejos para reponer bebidas y comprobar que todo estaba bien una vez que habíamos pedido. Cuando llegamos por primera vez, la persona que nos recibió pensó que era mejor terminar su conversación con lo que parecía ser otro miembro del personal antes de vernos. Una vez sentados, nos preguntaron si queríamos agua para la mesa y nos dijeron que alguien vendría a tomar nuestro pedido de bebidas. Habrían pasado unos 10 minutos antes de que mi compañero decidiera que iría al bar a pedir ya que aún no habíamos recibido el agua para la mesa. Una vez que había regresado nuestro servidor entonces vino y preguntó lo que nos gustaría, le explicamos que habíamos ido al bar a pedir y fue a comprobar. Una vez que regresó, me habían hecho la bebida incorrecta que luego fue rectificada. En general, fue una buena salida, pero por el costo que esperaría que el servicio sea un poco más puntual.

Visitamos el lunes por la noche para un regalo especial de aniversario, lo que un desastre de principio a fin, tuvimos un camarero que corrió por el restaurante como Basil defectuoso. Nos cobró por un gran castillo Briand cuando pedimos un pequeño para compartir, nos cobraron por grande que también nos cobraron por nuestros dos lados de salsa que debería haber sido incluido. El servicio de mesa era lento sin que nadie comprobara si necesitábamos algo. Cuando llegó la factura estaba totalmente equivocado con un £ 21. 50 cargos por servicio y cargos extras cuando desafiamos a nuestro camarero dijo que habíamos pedido un filete grande para compartir e intentó decir que nuestras salsas no estaban incluidas y continuó sobre las dos de cortesía que nos había dado que no queríamos o pedimos, al final se nos hizo sentir que estábamos equivocados y fue nuestra culpa. Al final la chica intentó reembolsarnos 8 libras por salsas, pero en lugar de reembolsarla, volvió a sacarla de la cuenta de mi marido. Nos dieron el precio del filete a lo que debería haber sido, pero toda la noche fue un desastre nunca más: (tuvimos una bebida de cortesía cada uno para nuestro aniversario, pero esto fue antes del desastre, creo que el camarero estaba tratando de ser inteligente, pero hizo todo lo posible para estafarnos, realmente creo que deberíamos ser reembolsados nuestro cargo por servicio, ya que el lugar es impactante. También es un poco raro cuando Basil seguía cantando feliz cumpleaños para sí mismo 🤷‍♀️

I only went to have a drink, rather expensive at £14 for a single g&t. Toilets were somewhat of a challenge very dark corridors (black) with an M and W on toilet doors. Unfortunately hard to read, the toilet area is also very dark with a tiny light for which I could only just see. Shame because it looks really nice.

Chain restaurant with authentic Argentine flavors! Be sure to make a reservation. The starter, beef tartare, was average, but the shrimp ceviche was much better, with a fresh and tangy flavor. The highlight of the menu is definitely the steak. The sirloin is a bit more firm in texture, while the ribeye has a richer, deeper flavor, perfect for those who enjoy a more intense meat experience. For dessert, I recommend trying the Citrus Flan, which has a texture somewhat similar to blueberry pudding. It’s light and refreshing, providing a nice contrast to the richness of the steak. However, the brownie was a bit on the hard side, so I would suggest opting for the flan if you prefer something softer. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is upscale and sophisticated, making it a great spot for a special night out. Whether you’re here for a celebration or just want to indulge in some high-quality Argentine cuisine, it’s an experience worth trying. El ambiente en Gaucho Birmingham es elegante y moderno, aunque el bajo número de comensales dejó el espacio un poco vacío. El bistec estaba bien cocinado, pero los precios se sentían un poco altos para la calidad de la carne, con cada salsa cobrada por separado a una tasa pronunciada para el tamaño de la porción. El personal era atento y bien informado, mejorando la experiencia. En general, es una buena opción para una ocasión especial, pero algunos ajustes en el valor y la atmósfera podrían elevarlo aún más.

We had private dining, 45mins for drinks wait. Waiter passed plates and drinks around the table like pass the parcel. Service was appalling by the male Waiter. McDonald's Service would be a 5 star compared to this establishment. Overall experience 3/10. For the cost of 16 people in a rabbit hutch private dinning area it was appalling .The service you would expect a better quality of service .

This Gaucho maintains the incredible high standards I've come to love from their other branches. The staff were friendly, professional and polite, the food was absolutely faultless, and the atmosphere excellent.

Comida totalmente decepcionante. Llevó a mi hijo que está en la universidad para un regalo. Estaban fuera de su humita característica (un sábado por la noche a las 8 pm), el entrante de lechuga gema a la parrilla y los lados de brócoli eran insípidos - - incluso amargos. Nuestros filetes (que no podíamos cortar con nuestros cuchillos romos) estaban de nuevo mal cocinados y sin sabor y finalmente el postre de tarta de queso estaba seco. Definitivamente no estuvo a la altura de la parrilla Gaucho que solía ser. No volveremos después de más de 25 años de ser clientes habituales de Gaucho. ¡Lo único bueno fue la compañía!

Not as good as it thinks it is. Steak was very nice, but I’ve had equally nice steaks for 2/3 of the price. Service was pretty slow, and got our steaks the wrong way round. The wine was, quite frankly, terrible considering the price of it. I am used to wine from Loki, this was more like the stuff you’d get down a pub. I was pretty disappointed given its rep. Wouldn’t go again. Cocktails lovely though.

Delicious steak, cooked perfectly. Sommelier chosen wine was excellent and matched the steaks perfectly. Service was efficient and friendly, without being overbearing. Decor is dark and welcoming. Menu was not overcomplicated. The 350g sirloin was really enough for me; glad I didn't go 450g! If you want steak in the middle of Birmingham, go here!

We were up from London for a day trip in the second city. Firstly greeted at the door with a ‘yes, can I help you’ I feel a hello and welcome may have been more of an appropriate greeting. We were given a table at the back next to the waiters service area. Constant sound of clunking plates disturbing our conversation. We had pre booked the table a week prior and there were plenty more appropriate tables we could have been sat at but they declined to move us. We were served the rodizo meats before our sides had even arrived. Anyway we tried to make the best of the situation, that was until we were taking a few minutes to digest our food and it was quite clear we were still eating our meal the server asked us if we would like to order dessert as we only have 15 minutes left on the table?! Firstly we did in fact have 45 minutes left on the table and there were other tables who arrived before us still enjoying their meal and not being shooed out of the building! I have never ever felt so unwelcome nor have I even been informed that I need to order dessert as my time is up, we did not even receive the full menu of meats. Awful experience!

Had a lovely dinner last Friday which was made all the more pleasant by our waiter Pavel. He was kind and very attentive throughout our dinner. He ensured the cocktail my sister ordered was exactly to her liking. My steak unfortunately arrived undercooked but he was extremely apologetic and immediately rectified it by bringing out another within a few short minutes. We were here to celebrate my graduation and he brought me a lovely cheesecake dessert which completed a very enjoyable dining experience. Overall, great experience and will definitely be back.

A very nice place. Food and service was great and the waitress adjusted all the portions according to our dietary requirements without any problems. Very professional. Expensive yes, but also you know you are getting a top class meal.

From entering to leaving the atmosphere was brilliant. Greeted and seated by staff. Menu especially the cuts of steak explained in detail. Service was very good without being over bearing. The food was well presented and tasty.

We celebrated our Birthday at Gaucho Birmingham. They have few halal options, I hope they add more cuts in halal options. Apart from that we had a great night out.

My wife and I booked in for our wedding anniversary, It was our first time at Gaucho. We were very impressed from arriving, the decor is modern and a little dark which adds to the buzzing vibe. We were shown to our table and greeted by our waiter ( a notable shout out to our waiter Chisomo: he was super friendly, chatty and knowledgeable about the menu). We had some delicious cocktails and shortly after putting our order in our food arrived. An Argentinian restaurant that boasts a large high quality steak selection has too be good and it was. I opted for the Rump steak cooked medium rare and my wife had the hot lime chicken and a side of Humita. Both were delicious with the steak cooked to perfection and meltingly tender. We stuck to cocktails for the remainder of the evening all of which hit the spot. An excellent evening of food and drink and a bonus of complimentary champagne to help celebrate our night. Gaucho is a must visit

Delicious meal if a little expensive

My wife and I just had a great meal here and will definitely return during our visit in Birmingham. The space is very sophisticated and cool, the servers and staff are very friendly and attentive (especially our server John) and the food is delicious (with just a couple small nits). Here we go: My wife had the barbacoa glazed salmon which was cooked perfectly. The fish was very tasty the only knock was that the glaze was put on a little thick and was slightly too sweet. That said, most peole like it that way, but id we rdered it again we would ask to skip the glaze. I had the lomo (filet) and at least for me the small 200g portion was plenty. It was cooked perfectly rare and was so tender all I needed was a bread knife to cut it. The only nit was the chimichurri, and that is important! It was super runny with too much oil so it didn't stick to the meat. For me chimichurri is more of a thick sauce, not a 'dip'. The spinich was served with a lot of liquid which was also a bit off for us, but like I said we had a terrific meal. Go! (sorry no pix!)

Very unhappy experience, because it was my birthday and I chose this restaurant and I requested a birthday cake. I emphasized it to the waiter twice but they ignored it and perfunctorily. I also saw that other tables of customers had birthdays and they all sent birthday cakes, but when we needed service, no one was called. I asked them to send cake several times, and they only served the cake after I asked again when I paid the bill. Another point is that their pasta is the thing I least recommend? It's very unpalatable! This is a very bad experience! I will not go to this restaurant again. The service charge is unreasonable and we were not served at all! Refuse to enter this restaurant again!

I'm not typically a steak person, but my partner, on the other hand, loves steak so we thought we'd give this place ago and I can honestly say it's the best steak I've ever had! We ordered the special cuts, which were the ribeye & the fillet & both were so tender & cooked to perfection 😍 (medium, rare). The fillet came drizzled in a garlic & butter sauce, which tasted amazing. We ordered sides; garlic fries, creamed spinach, mash, & a garlic mushroom which all complimented the steak beautifully. The service was great, staff are friendly, knowledgable & welcoming. The venue is very stylish & modern. The dark decor gives it a very chilled & cosy feel. It's very pricey, but so worth the money. Highly recommend & will be visiting again soon 😊

My fiance and I went to Gaucho last night and had an unbelievably good meal. I had the tira de ancho which is one of the best steaks I've ever had and my fiance had a fillet that was well cooked. The food is exceptional but the service was also top notch. Pavel, our waiter, was brilliant Will definitely be coming back

Took my both nieces out for a celebration on their successful GCSE results. They all had the halal option Sirloin steak, which was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing, even though it was just a piece of meat on a plate with no other garnish, i wasnt impressed there. I ordered the grilled seabass, let me warn you, it comes on the bone and every bite, had bones in it, I would have preferred the fish filleted. So just be careful We ordered a few sides and they tasted really nice and presented well and served hot. They could have had more varieties of mocktails. I felt the tables were very close to one another and people can hear one anothers conversation. Hence why I wasn't happy with the atmosphere. However the decor was dark and cosy and clean. The waitress that served us was very attentive and provided a high level of service, very impressed 👍❤️ If you intend to serve halal, I suggest maybe having 2 or 3 options rather than 1 (steak). We averaged spent £60 per head and that's without alcohol. In general a decent experience

Having been to Gaucho a few times before I was really disappointed by the service and quality of food I received. When I attended I had to request the special offer menu from the waiter / sommelier as it was not provided which did seem like an inconvenience that I was not ordering off the a la carte menu. Why offer the menu to customers when the staff are not happy providing this! The wait for the order for drinks and food to be taken was very lengthy but this was just one of a number of things which dampened the whole experience. The food was ordered and it took best part of 45 minutes for the starters to come to the table. We had also ordered the cheese bread and this came out after the starter had been put at the table which was very bizarre and very clearly an after though from the kitchen who probably remembered we had ordered bread also. When the mains arrived at the table the sides did not arrive for a good 15-20 minutes after the main dish had been placed at the table. This was the case for the whole table. In the defence of the waiter / sommelier he did apologise and explained the system for ordering food was not configured correctly so the sides were not printed in the kitchen with the mains. This meant that the mains were not really enjoyed how they should have been. It was just a mishmash dining experience. The accompanied peppercorn sauce to the main was poor in quality and had little resemblance to what a normal peppercorn sauce is any restaurant. There was only one peppercorn in the whole sauce and the colour was off yellow and not creamy in the slightest. Suffice to say that this was not used / sampled and sent back to the kitchen. The dessert finally arrived at the table at approximately 10:30 which was roughly 2 hours from when we had sat at the table! This was delicious and perhaps the best dish of the whole meal. A real disappointment from the Gaucho Team who have previously excelled.

The most amazing steak I’ve ever had. And beautiful restaurant with great service

We have reflected a lot on our experience from our last visit and booked a table for 2 at 1930 hrs on Saturday. The dining room was not busy when we arrived but got progressively busier while we were there. Our waitress was attentive to start with, but as the place got busier, so did she. The food came and went, with all the food being amazingly prepared and cooked. The châteaubriand was amazing, as was the wine. However when we received our dessert menus. I believe our waitress went on a break as we did not see her again for 30 mins. Despite trying to get the attention of the waiting staff it was clear that they weren’t going to let me catch their eye and place our order for desserts and cocktails. By the time our waitress returned we needed to leave. I don’t put this failure of good service down to an individual but down to management, there were plenty of waiting staff. Sadly it spoilt the experience for us. The maître d was very accepting of our complaint when I noted that I was not impressed and he offered drinks and to remove the service charge (I accepted neither as we had to go and the chefs deserved the service charge). This experience was a real disappointment as we have eaten there before and didn’t expect anything other than a great meal and service for the £90 a head.

Great place, had the sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce, really nice piece of steak, waitor was really attentive and explained the different cuts of meat, drinks were pricey but if you sign up for the mailing list beforehand you get two free cocktails each! Recommend the place if you like steak!

Our family drove from Nottingham to Birmingham to give this restaurant a try and we loved it… From the reception to the steak explanation and presentation it was well worth the drive... Try the Sea Bass Ceviche as a Starter ( you’ll thank me later )

First time visiting, staff were very friendly and welcoming I had the sea bass which was very good 👍 good portion sizes, mash was a bit too salty and mac and cheese was a bit weird.

2nd time visiting Gaucho on 3rd August 2024. It was my birthday and they didn't disappoint. The young lady who took us to our table was courteous and complimentary and efficient thank you. The waitress was also efficient and friendly and courteous. The food was amazing as before. I got a complimentary glass of fizz. And also a pudding. Thank you so much. Highly recommended.

Booked Gauchos to celebrate 29th wedding anniversay. Very disappointed. Have been before and enjoyed food. However on this occasion was very disappointed. My husband ordered a steak and asked for it to be cooked well done waitress said wouldnt recommend well done on this cut of steak. I ordered bread to start which did not arrive. My husband ordered butterfly prawns. When they arrived he was disappointed very little prawn. When steaks arrived my husbands was very rare. He also ordered peppercorn sauce, brocoli and mushroom. Peppercorn sauce just tasted very beefy with no peppercorn flavour. Steak was extremley rare. We really didn't enjoy the meal which was supposed to be a celebration. Restaurant offered complimentary drink and desset platter but felt that the evening had already been spoilt. To cap it all they still added service charge on the bill !!!!!

Booked for a late Saturday lunch. Matt was brilliant, settled us in, looked after us both. Brilliant knowledge of food etc. Generally all staff were polite and made you feel special. Definitely coming back. Oh and the food was amazing. Gary & Kelly.. Celebrating our anniversary x

Not been for a while - used to visit Cau when it was open and been here for birthdays and casual dining but last time thought it had priced itself out of casual dining. decided to try out the 30 yr celebration menu I'd been sent at a fixed price except it didn't include sides which were £4 each so with 1 small glass of wine and service it soon adds up. Booked online, arrived slightly early but nobody on front desk. warmly welcomed when she did arrive and offered a choice of drink at the bar or going straight to the table. At the table welcomed by the lovely Elisa who was delightful throughout the meal - eve offering us a choice where to sit. She suggested trying both desserts on the menu when struggling to make up our minds and very apologetic when advising my starter choice was out of stock. Starters of prawn ceviche and crab causita were tasty and beautifully presented even if the bowls were a little difficult to eat from. Mains of churrasio cuadril steak with chips were amazing - some of the best chips eaten in restaurants. followed after a short break (at our request when offered by the server) of coconut tres leches and dolce de leche pancakes were divine. We enjoyed a glass of sauvignon blanc and torrentes white - both of which hit the spot. Not cheap despite offer - still over £100 for 2 but quality ingredients and experience especially service from Elisa were worth it. Service, food quality , presentation and ambience were great - especially for a Wednesday evening.

João was an amazing server who helped make my brothers birthday very special. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about the wine and gave us several amazing recommendations. Would really suggest anyone looking for a good restaurant in Birmingham to check out Gaucho !

LOVE IT!! Visited for the first time with my best friend, as part of their 30 year anniversary special. Lovely atmosphere & ambiance. Matt was our EXCELLENT waiter, knowledgeable, professional, polite & funny!! Our service was prompt, food well presented & quality was evident. We had elderflower & mint mocktails created for us that were perfect 👌🏾 After acknowledging our reasons for the meal, Matt surprised us with a glass of fizz and complimentary dessert 🥺✨ Thanks Matt & Team for a wonderful meal & experience… see you soon.👏🏾

Group of 8 for a work celebration dinner which was enjoyable however food could only be described as fair. Steaks were high end in price but dry and a little tough. Everything was a bit average and not in line with price. Good setting and environment, very busy but was a bit mass market and not special

Lovely food, steak cooked well, wine a bit overpriced (£48 for a bottle of Malbec which wasn't anything special and is probably closer to £8 or so in a shop, but I guess that's standard for restaurant wine). Service was ok but we were definitely ignored due to the a couple larger groups taking up multiple staff members time, to the point where we had to wait about half an hour to order desserts and by that point just gave up and got the bill. 3 stars as Gaucho then added a 12.5% tip to the bill without asking and I just really resent this practice. To be honest, I usually would've left more if I'd been given the choice. If you think your staff should be paid more, pay them more. That's not the job of the customer - especially at the prices you're already charging for food and drinks. And if I want to leave a tip for exceptionally good service, I will, but having the option taken away from me is quite insulting. I know I can ask for it to be removed but really, it shouldn't be there in the first place. Kinda cheapened the whole experience.

Went here to celebrate my graduation and could not be happier! Amazing food and even better service by Domini who really took care of our table the entire night, thank you! Her recommendations were spot on, highlights were the wagyu burger (some of the best burgers I’ve had) and the rib eye was cooked to perfection. For those who prefer leaner cuts the filet was still juicy, tender and well flavoured. Pricey but portion sizes are good and cannot beat the quality of the meat. Recommend the meats with the bernaise sauce. Only thing was the ceviche fell short for me personally too acidic and the citrus notes were too strong and overpowered the actual fish. Still, would definitely come back thank you Gaucho!

Overall we were very disappointed by our meal and service - visited on a Tuesday night, very slow service, tried to order 3 different cocktails from their menu but none were available, took over 20 minutes for even a drinks order to be taken, food arrived and it was ok but sides were cold which let the main meal down.

Booked for a Sunday choosing to go for the Legacy Menu celebrating 30 years, which was advertised as £30.00 for 3 courses. We have been to Gaucho a few times over the years and while pricey have always found the food very good. Unfortunately this was just very average. We chose the sausage to start which was nice and then the steak for main. We didn’t expect the biggest steak considering it was a set menu but the quality was very poor. Full of gristle and very chewy. For sweet we had the pancakes which tasted nice but were cold, maybe that’s how they are served but we didn’t enjoy. Like most set menus with set prices you end up paying a lot more. In Gaucho’s case, you pay for sides, £4 each and one of the cheapest bottles of white £30. Once you add the service charge you’re into £120.00, we expected that but didn’t expect average food for that price. If this was meant to be a celebration of 30 years and showcasing their food it fell very short.

Luis was brilliant on the bar for cocktail weekend, funny, friendly and knowledgeable plus the drink was gorgeous and it definitely had a relaxed atmosphere in there. We will return for food one point

First time I’ve been to this restaurant and I don’t think I’ll be back. I’ve dined at the gaucho in Leeds and always had a good meal so I had high expectations. Unfortunately the steak was badly cooked and bland. Given their prices it was very disappointing. On the positive side, staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was packed, loud and lively so I wouldn’t recommend it for a quiet meal!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gaucho, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the stunning decor and ambiance. The attention to detail in the restaurant's design was truly impressive, and it created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was also outstanding. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations on what to order. And the food? Absolutely delicious. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. While it is on the pricier side, I must say that the quality of the food and the overall dining experience made it well worth it. Overall, I highly recommend Gaucho to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. The food, service, and atmosphere are truly top-notch, and I can't wait to go back.

Attended yesterday 13 July. Had a lot of emails about their legacy menu, which piqued my interest. Wasn't sure why there was no mention of it when we were ordering. I assumed I'd missed the date but apparently it's running still? Ordered from their non legacy menu. Thought it was expensive and they didn't have the steak that I'd wanted. Starters were good, one of the mains (salmon) was exceptional, my steak was ok. puddings were good too. Service was exceptional. Still puzzled by the legacy menu though.

Apparently part of Birmingham Cocktail Weekend but server was rude. Bar was empty and yet we were told it was half hour wait for a cocktail. If you are not capable of engaging in the event, don't get involved.

Friendly barman and a delicious cocktail for Birmingham cocktail weekend. I would recommend it here. Will visit again.

Excellent meat but let down by veg sides. Amongst the most tender steak and tastiest fries & mash I’ve ever had. However, the broccoli was a sad joke (see pics), for £6.50 I expected more than just 3 stems, which makes it over £2 per stem, can get a whole bag in the shop for that! As a Londoner I’m used to small portions but this was taking the mickey. We were 4 people sharing sides so would it really have hurt them to give an extra piece, or were two of us expected to cut and share one stem? When leaving, I saw a board outside with a picture of what the broccoli should be (see pics), quite a few more pieces.. smells like false advertising! The mushrooms were underwhelming/boring for the price and the service was friendly but a bit slow, leaving us waiting a long time to order and had to walk up to the till to get someone’s attention for the bill. So come for amazing meat and potatoes and skip the healthier stuff :D

We ordered Salmon and steak. Portion of salmon meal was very small for 20 pounds, as you can see from the picture. I ate only small bite from salmon before taking picutre. My partner and his friend ordered a steak, which was full of nerves and was very chewy and very hard, so it was impossible to eat it, that's not something you expect for 79 pounds and from such high quality restaurant! We came to celebrate our friend's birthday and were highly disappointed! They also have wine card but don't have a person who could advise on wine, for the price you are paying for the glass that's at least something that you'd expect. On the other side, manager was understanding and helpful and removed price of steak from the bill, service was also quite good. So all in all, in terms of price and value that you get for the money, I would definitely not reccomend this place, but decision is yours.

I can not say one thing negative about this place. The service is really professional yet friendly. The atmosphere is fashionable yet comfortable. The food I stylish, filling and soooo tasty. My steak was perfect, and the mash potato was the best I've ever had. It is pricey, though. I thoroughly recommend it.

Incredibly good steak. Great, friendly and professional service. Really nice venue too. Expensive but you really do get what you pay for. I'll be back many times.

Unbelievable steak, I shared a platter of steak and Parmesan fries and very nice bottle red wine, and the service was brilliant, it was pricy but well worth the money spent would definitely return.

Great service, lovely restaurant but unfortunately the roast wasn't up to scratch. The meat was reasonable but the Yorkshire puddings were greasey and the roast potatoes were shop brought and most probably frozen. The cabbage wasnt the best. The carrots where nice but I only got one (bottomless roast 🤔). I nice celebration with friends but disappointing food.

Steaks are 10/10. They melt in your mouth like butter.

Went for a birthday celebration, we both had the Sunday roast unfortunately our first meal we struggled to cut the meat (even after asking for a sharper knife,) which ended up getting sent back the second serving was much better however still tough to cut. Thankfully the quality of everything else on the plate made up for the toughness of the meat, Yorkshire puddings are exceptional. Had a bottle of champagne on the house for my birthday which was lovely, also the free cheesecake was divine! Will return however, only for the steak which has been far better on other visits, the Sunday roast was nice but being unable to cut into the meat did slightly let it down.

Antonio I believe was our servers name, was absolutely amazing, explained all the the cuts of beef to us, was apologetic that we had to order our drinks at the bar, and delivered us amazing food that superceded expectations, the firecracker chimichurri was phenomenal. However the lady that greeted us at the door and showed us to our table was rude, openly spoke to her collegue in front of us in a foreign language while i was talking to her, didn't offer us drinks, offered us water but didn't give it to us even though it was a quiet sunday evening. Had to order at the bar. Other than that, was an amazing experience. Food was outstanding. But the lady at the door did not make us feel welcome. She let the the name gaucho down, as it carries a high reputation. The rest of the experience was fantastic

Simply incredible. My partner and i had the gaucho sampler. Steals were perfectly cooked to a medium and up there with, if not the BEST steaks we have ever eaten. Look forward to another visit.

Bin dragged past my table, waiters seemed miserable, wasn’t worth the money as experience wasn’t great, wouldn’t recommend to anyone, and food could be much better for the price that is been paid. Only good thing was the drinks, so if u do go just stick to the bar as the drinks didn’t disappoint unlike the food.

Was looking forward to Gaucho Birmingham but was disappointed tbh. My ribeye was excellent but my partner was full of gristle and fat to the point half was inedible. Yes rib eye is a Faty cut but this was a poor distribution of fat to meet content. Two of the sides we requested were not available which got the price point and at 715 on a Wednesday evening was not really acceptable. The waitress was accommodating and professional. The ambience was non existent for us as we was placed in a poorly lit booth type of table with no other diners anywhere near so kind of felt out the way which is strange as it’s quiet a small venue. Starters were acceptable and the house red @ £45 a bottle was not the greatest ! surly there’s much better options for an Argentinian Malbec if the sommelier had gave it more thought. £240 for two starters two mains powered mash potatoes and two two sides with two cocktails and a bottle of red was not really worth returning for. Such a shame as had heard good things but would not return.

unhappy and inattentive staff, full bins being dragged past our table when eating an expensive meal that wasn’t even worth it and being seated in the worst spot when there was available seating elsewhere was not the experience i was anticipating with the amount of money it was and the experience advertised!

Food was alright. The staff, however, were rude and didn't seem to be happy with us until we paid.

Started off by been sat by the kitchen entrance when there was plenty of empty tables, service wasn’t great only got a smile when it came to paying the bill, bins where dragged passed my table multiple times which really brings down the experience and makes it seem tacky and my girlfriend was bumped into multiple times by waiters and the cookie dough dessert tasted like burnt chocolate. Only good thing was the mushrooms, for somewhere that’s meant to give a luxury experience it felt like an expensive McDonald’s ! Would not recommend there is a better restaurant called Isaac’s right opposite, in the grand hotel, or the oyster bar, or even pernells.

Really nice atmosphere and attentive service. Steak was perfectly cooked and we receive a perfect wine pairing too.

Atmosphere and service are lovely, very romantic but food is not worth it. Had way better steaks in the pub.
