Friendly cafe with a great & varied menu. Very good value. Can't recommend them enough. Will try a Malaysian dish next time.

Ordered malaysia ayam rendang and omg it was so good. It was proper spicy and they gave me so much ikan bilis (covered by keropok), I was soooo happy. Will definitely come back when I'm craving home.

Tried the Nasi Lemak and Teh Terik, and it turned out to be not suitable to my taste. I was looking for something authentic, but the fried chicken has disappointed me in every way. The atmosphere is not too bad. Might be a decent choice if you don’t mind not having authentic Malaysian taste.

İ have visited lots of asian restaurant, GB cafe is one of the best one in Nottingham so far. Foods, service is good and fast as well as it s delicious. İf you want to try asian foods this place must be tried once.

An unassuming location that serves brilliant food. You're welcomed in, there is a brilliant range of food from various cuisines and all cooked freshly. Very well priced and a range of people there. Very well worth a visit and will be returning many times in the future. Friendly staff and amazing options suitable for all.

Love the food, been a few times and am on a mission to try most of the food on the Malaysian/Chinese/Japanese menu. Beff Randang was lovely along with the spicy beef noodle soup

The busy eatery serves many breakfasts to workmen in the morning and was taken over by Chinese owners last year, so there is now a really delicious Asian menu with food for very competitive prices and everything top notch and delicious. It has a high fluorescent beam content so the atmosphere could be better, the service is very fast but messy

Don't let the slightly incongruous name or venue fool you, this is a real hidden gem. The food here is really fantastic with staff to match. I've been 7/8 times since it's become an "Oriental" restaurant and loved it every time. The super friendly staff have guided me out of my western European culinary comfort zone by suggesting some amazing dishes and it's shot to the top of my list as one of my favourite places to eat. Highly recommend.

Great oriental diner. Very generous portions and quite a wide variety of dishes to choose from - Thai, Chinese, Japanese etc. The staff are lovely too. Place could do with a bit of a refurb inside as not much has changed since the previous owners sold up.

Booked for 7 people. The food was absolutely amazing. we shared about 8 Asian main dishes & all were so nice. Also, the service was so warm and friendly and a must visit if you're in Nottingham.

They are very inconsistent when it comes to dishes. I ordered some wings the other day and they tasted nice and looked completed different to the ones I got today. The ones I got today tasted burnt and had no flavour. Called the restaurant and all she did was shift the blame to Deliveroo. No offer of resolution.

The only place I go for food in Notts. Just fantastic.

Excellent Satay and very friendly

This was suggested from a colleague and it didn't disappoint. Went with the roast pork with rice. The char siu was delicious! The BBQ sauce was so good and the pork was really moist. A really good sized portion without it being "too much". Order and pay at the counter with food and drinks delivered promptly. Definitely coming back again.

Malaysian cuisine is limited in the UK in general and definitely in Notts. I can't explain how happy I am to have GB Café in my life now. Super friendly staff, crazy tasty food and very much a regular return location! I highly highly recommend Hainanese Chicken Rice as the most comforting and delicious chucky dinner you can get in any cuisine.

Went here with my daughter and partner, food was top class, service excellent, lovely servers polite informative, it was a Saturday night, jam packed walked in managed to get the last table, notlong to wait for food. Decor plain but very clean and reasonable priced this is a must for me again next time in the city 9 out 10 thanks

I would like to consider myself a sushi veteran of Nottingham having tried majority of all sushi’s places here, gb sushi offers an amazing range of sushi super fresh tasty and beautifully presented. Furthermore after ordering similar dishes everytime I visit the chef offered me for free 2 pieces of seared salmon nigiri something I have never tried before and was throughly impressed by not only the flavour but also the texture 10/10 would definitely recommended superservice great price one very happy customer.

Great food at reasonable price and great portion. Service was good! Would definitely recommend their laksa and char kway teu. Expect a bit of a wait for table on the weekend or peak hours, but worth the wait.

We ordered a halal breakfast, along with chicken and sweetcorn soup (also halal) and plenty of drinks. As I was placing the order, the server noticed my partner wasn’t feeling well, so she thoughtfully made him a lemon, ginger, and honey Japanese tea with chicken and sweetcorn soup. When serving us, she kindly assured us that all the meat options on the menu are fully halal and certified. As we sat down, it was heartwarming to see people from all walks of life around us, truly reflecting the multicultural community of Sneinton. The food itself tasted spectacular and was great value for money specifically the cooked breakfast!

Fantastic food, my favourite meal out for a long time!

That is a nice afternoon. We are just finishing watching movies and finding a place for lunch. A friend recommends us to go here for lunch. Price is reasonable, and cuisines are full of choices. The place is clean, the food is good and the staff is polite. You can have a marvelous time here.

I love this place. If you’re looking for good quality grub which will fill you then this is the place. The food is delivered with a wide variety. Plus, it’s decently priced. I’ve been a few times and the service is always friendly and polite, even when super busy. Atmosphere wise: it’s one of those local cafes. It’s not fancy and there are no thrills but it’s not needed as the food is great. Everything has always been clean when I’ve visited.

Wish I’d known earlier that they started doing Asian cuisines. Yummy foods, large portion sizes, homely atmosphere and probably the only place in Nottingham with more Malaysian dishes on the menu.

Gorgeous food and enormous portions. Make sure you go hungry! The food came out piping hot and quickly. Although it was 8pm on a Saturday it was very quiet, so I feel this is a hidden gem and expect it to get very popular soon.

Simply the best traditional Hong Kong style "cha chaan teng" in Nottingham. Great food, and I highly recommend the beef brisket curry on white rice.

Really delicious food, reasonably priced extensive menu and generous portions. Everything was freshly made and served quickly. We ordered the char kway teow, pumpkin kerokke and teriyaki chicken bento box.

Another very tasty lunch at GB Cafe, with the usual fill of Malaysian dishes. There's now crab on the menu and Andy (chef) can make chilli, black pepper and kam heong. Delicious!!

Lovely food. Good service. Café style set up. We didn't have the all day breakfast but that just looked amazing. But we did have the braised beef, belly pork and aubergine. Superb! Sorry no photos, food all gone before it hit the table.

Place is very dull old and depressing. Owners needs to renovate it asap. For this prices interior should be decent but in real is like in horror movie. At winter and spring was frezeen cold 🥶 Food is good but presentation is 0/10 on disgusting boring plates. Guys is 21 century use some creativity! Atmosphere is very bad there 👎🏼 don’t recommend for people which looking for good vibes and nice time

Managed to grab a table on Friday evening without a problem. Had heard a lot of good things about the Eastern food on the menu and we were not disappointed! The portion sizes were good. We had two starters, three mains and three bottles of beer and it came to £22pp. The staff were lovely and the food was great, I recommend the Sichuan sliced beef (if you're not scared of spice 🌶️) and the nasi goreng.

We went here on a Friday evening after reading about how good it is on r/nottingham. Everything I read was true, the food here is really really good. We had a selection of dishes including Sichuan Beef in oil, Pork belly and braised vegetables, Nasi Goreng, Crispy fried tofu and ribs. Everything was outstanding. The staff are really friendly and helpful and we were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. We'll definitely be going back soon to try some other items off their menu.

This was our first time visiting GB Cafe and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We were met with a very friendly waitress who was able to guide us through some of the dishes on the menu. The food was top notch! With great portions and plenty to choose from - the menu had a lot to offer. This cafe/ Diner was also great value for money, too! We'd highly recommend this to anyone who's passing by!

The two types of sushi I had were amazing, even without soy sauce, the service is good - they are friendly, helpful and relatively quick, and the atmosphere is casual and bustling, which I love. Thanks for the great food!

Been sleeping on this place for far too long. Wont be making that mistake again. Popped in on a sunday afternoon and tried a little of everything. Curry Fish Balls and a Garlic Chili Oil Aubergine dish for me, and a full breakfast with side of sushi for the wife. Every single dish was delivered to the table within moment, and ranks as some of the tastiest food I have eaten in a long while. HUGE flavours and spectacular quality. Also a really great atmosphere to boot, lively and busy. A pretty-much perfect place.

I really enjoy popping in here when i come into Nottingham. They are friendly, prompt and the food is very tasty. Nasi Goreng (Spicy) is my favourite.

Good little cafe. Only popped in for some sushi but the service was good and the sushi freshly made as we waited. Was good too. Place was full quite late in the day so guess it is a good meal.

Don't let the name fool you. This is, without a doubt, my favourite place for Chinese food in Nottingham. I really recommend the Beef Brisket with crispy noodles. The sauce is incredible.

We had such a nice meal here, lovely authentic food. I asked for the servers recommendation and it didn't disapppoint. It was a shame we had just missed the pre-show crowd and so the place was quite empty but that could just have been our timing. Its a big place to fill.

As a Malaysian, I can confirm the Malaysian food I tried was authentic. The wat tan hor fun was delicious and had wok hei. The hainanese chicken rice was spot on, with silky soft chicken and great dipping sauces (ginger chilli sauce and ginger scallion sauce). And finally we had the laksa too which was very tasty. The chef is Malaysian and had previously worked at pan Asia and Bonzai sushi. We also ordered a soft shell crab sushi roll which was yummy. It is on the expensive side for the ambience (it is a greasy spoon type of place) but I am so happy to find such delicious Malaysian food that I don't care and will be coming back!

Wow loving this diner, such a mix of amazing foods and jam packed with all kinds of different people, from white English builders to lots of Asian people. Food was fantastic, ordered the salmon sashimi and the prawn wat tan ho. Would have preferred it if they had made a traditional seafood wat tan ho, but it was still really good. Great friendly staff, love it, its my new fave in Nottingham! You go in, sit down, they give you a menu, then you up and pay at the till. Food came quickly, I only waited about 5 mins. Delicious 😋

I am in love! My favourite dishes all in one place! Traditional English breakfast fry-up, cantonese dishes and sushi! I’m British Born Chinese and the atmosphere in this place and service felt like I was in a HK cafe. I stumbled across this place yesterday when finishing a gym session after work and thought I’d try somewhere new for dinner. I felt very welcomed not dressed smart and wanting some comfort food as a reward after a long day! We had XO seafood hor fun, beef curry brisket, green dragon sushi roll plus other extras. All delicious and flavoursome in their own right. Pure ‘Ratatouille moment’ if you’ve ever watched the Disney Pixar film when I had the dishes and was also given complimentary fruit at the end of the meal (typical for Chinese customer service). This place did not disappoint for an impromptu dinner out and will be back for more to try the fry-up. Excited to be a regular and highly recommend! I recently tried two dishes from GB Cafe and they were amazing! Malaysian Chicken Curry: This curry was incredibly tasty. The chicken was soft and the spices were spot on. It was creamy, spicy, and really satisfying. Chinese Beef Fried Rice Noodles: These noodles were great too. The beef was tender and the noodles had a delicious smoky flavor. The veggies were crunchy and everything was just delicious. If you want some great Asian food, go for GB Cafe. Their food is fresh, flavorful, and will definitely make you happy!

Fantastic service every time I’ve gone. Great food with a verity of options and food comes at at great time. Halal options are available which is a great bonus. Very much authentic East Asian dishes are served as well as the all day breakfast options.
