Witnessed two bouncers forcefully kick someone out, just because they were singing too loud at the karaoke. The young lad was given no warning and the bouncers didn’t even seem to know why they were doing what they were doing, as they were just following what the kareoke dj was doing. Completely ruined our evening having to watch that, poor sod.

I came in on Friday night and it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. I sat down and ordered the Vegan burger at the bar. I was greeted by Alex who was attentive and dealt with my customisation correctly and the kitchen got it right which was good. The food itself was good and I would visit again

We had our Christmas meal here, which I had organised for 20 people. It was a festive buffet and the food was amazing for the price we paid for it. We had a private area to ourselves and everything was setup for us. Jay the manager had planned it really well and made sure everything went smoothly and I didn't have to worry about being out of pocket. They put Christmas crackers on the table for everyone too, which was a nice touch and a surprise we didn't expect. The staff were attentive and accommodating and the pub itself is an excellent venue, well-maintained and very clean. Would recommend 100%.

Took my niece there for lunch. The food was amazing best steak I've had in a long time. Only downside was we picked a day that rugby was on so was quite loud

We recently celebrated our son’s 4th birthday party here, and it was an incredible experience. When we lived on the high street, this pub was one of our favorite spots because of its great vibe and delicious food, so hosting the party here felt like the perfect choice—and it didn’t disappoint! A big thank you to the team for their prompt communication and for managing food service for our group of 40, even with one chef short. Your dedication and effort made the day truly special. Jay and the entire team should be so proud of this little gem at the bottom of Guildford. The way they welcome you, make you feel at home and create a perfect atmosphere that makes it feel like a London pub without the pretentiousness is amazing. The food is delicious (bring back the ceasar burger please!!), and me and my friends can’t wait to get together over Christmas here! Bravo all!

Watched Jay put up the Christmas decorations this week, and all I can say is they are ridiculously good! A very keen eye to detail when it comes to making the area look great. Very friendly team, very chatty and love to go the extra mile. Love visiting this pub, but this Christmas season seems like it’s going to be extra special after a pretty bad few years with previous management.

Visited the George Abbot in Guildford on Friday and had a fantastic night! The staff were so smiley, welcoming and service was quick. They host karaoke every week which provides a buzzing atmosphere and gets everyone involved, making it such a fun place for us students especially. They also informed us that they have student nights on a Thursday with discounted drinks! We will be regularly spending our Friday nights here singing our hearts out! Thank you George Abbot!!😍

Edit: this pub has now said me and my friends can't go into the pub unless I take down the review. Very professional. I was so excited to come here the day after my birthday with 10 of my friends for karaoke night. Well, what a suprise when we all turned up at 8:30 (30 minutes after all the posters said it would start) to be told it's cancelled for the 'football' and he (the karaoke man) was sent home an hour ago. I'm am beyond disappointed, the false advertising has let down not only me but all of my friends. Birthday ruined. Me and my friends have been practicing for days.

Nice, chilled pub. In good location in relation to the town centre (just over the bridge). Great selection of drinks and food. Doesn't tend to get too busy so always a good chance to get a table.

Came here for the lunch with a group of friends the other day and had the best meal I’ve had in guilford. The service was amazing special thanks to Chloe behind the Bar and Elisha both deserve top praise for their work on that day as they were really nice and helpful and made sure nothing was too much trouble !

Visit this Pub quite often it has an absolutely amazing atmosphere with themed nights such as karaoke etc, has a vast selection of drinks and the staff are always brilliant specifically Chloe and Niamh who always provide top tier service. Would 100% recommend to any Guildford visitor

I've been coming to this pub for a few months now, it's atmosphere staff and food are amazing. I feel welcome every time I come in. Especially when the staff get to know you and pour your drink before you ask. AND the BURGERS are amazing!! Also shout out to Jay Chloe and Winston, great team. :) 😀 xx

We went with a friend’s for a lunch. Was 14:30 when our friends (two adults and 2 kids) ordered a food via the mobile application. 2 minutes later, we were unable to ordered as the kitchen closed. I went to ask why nobody mentioned that the kitchen will close, when only the half of the table was served? I was told that they can’t do anything, as the Chef is taking break between 14:00 and 16:00. My question to the staff was how I should explain to my kids that they won’t be served, but my friend’s meals are cooking? Finally we end without meals. My advice is to train your staff how they should do their work instead of chatting with people on the bar.

Has very friendly staff working, always happy to chat. Additionally has the football on which creates a great atmosphere. The prices are not too bad and allows 20% of for students. Overall, one of the best pubs in guildford for lunch, dinner, football and a nice evening out.

I havent been to this pub for years, but came and had a meal with friends and really suprised at how good the food is! Great atmosphere and service too.

Very disorganised. Didn’t open when they were supposed to, very under staffed and the food was not good. Probably a decent enough venue for a couple of beers to watch the football, but not suitable for family gathering/meal

Disappointing first visit. About to order and the only barman stops serving me to take a phone call and then moans to me about the customer in the call. I try and order some cask ale to be told that none of the four shown on the taps are available currently, some excuse about taking three days to settle. Yes, but rotate your ales, they don't all get used at once. Tried ordering food through the app but told that what I'd ordered wasn't available and that "the app regularly shows things we don't have and to always order from the till '. Other Greene King pubs seem to be able to keep the app data correct. Nice decor.

Nice and simple pub. Altough not the coziest. The interior design and furniture has a taste of school cafeteria. The location is great, the staff is friendly and the beers are wet. So an ok pub. Just the interior design that was not to my personal taste.

Great atmosphere, food, and service. You really get good value for what you pay for in terms of portions and for Guildford prices they’re top notch. If you’re planning to go during a football match definitely call ahead because it’s packed regularly.

We went for Sunday lunch. The food was ok but quite small portions. Polite, friendly staff. I was surprised to hear that on a Sunday there were no roast dinners available even though there were 3 choices on the menu.

Friday night, rugby and great music. Masssive compliments to Adam for a fantastic sandwich accompanied by a godly dressing.

Located in Central Guildford, so it is very easy to get to and great transport links. Multiple screens showing a wide range of sports. Huge bar with lots to choose from

We were there to watch the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Spain vs England, great atmosphere and plenty of TV but at the end of the match they decide to change the channel and that way we missed the trophy ceremony, by the way Spain won. Either way we stay to eat we order through the app, we select no peas, peas arrived in both plates, food was ok although they can use a little bit of salt. Arriba España

This pub is in an excellent location right in the centre of Guildford, right by the canal. However, because of this there is a lot of competition including, opposite, The White House with tables on the water and a short walk down the canal is The Britannia which has the best beer selection and food of the three. Sadly, the George doesn’t stand up well alongside the other two. We visited on a Friday lunchtime and were the only ones in. Their sharing menu is a bad idea given their facilities. We were told to expect slow delivery of the food due to only having one chef and being limited to two fryers. The staff were perfectly nice, friendly and efficient but that isn’t matched by either the speed or quality of the menu items. The pub appears to focus on its sports coverage so it’s probably best to consider it for that.

Came to eat food and ask about wings gluten free and ask if they can do in the oven I heard answer they can’t. Never had a problem before doing wings in the oven. For a main i ordered iron steak came cold, I asked about some side salad got only rocket salad with 2 slices of cucumber and watermelon. Never again will come back.

I booked a table for 6 for the Sport because it was in a good location for people arriving from all around. It was a great choice because the service was fantastic and friendly. The beer range was excellent and it was well kept and perfectly poured. It was a busy day for sport and the bar maid made sure we had the right channel and volume level. We had a great time that was enhanced by the staff's service so I will definitely return.

I have been there with my date, the atmosphere was very friendly. I have been served by (what I believe is) the manager , she was a very friendly person willing to help. For sure I will go back there soon 👌

I came here a couple of months ago with a large group for our office party, and I wasn't sure whether to book. Even though the pub was busy the staff were very attentive and made us feel at home, even offering an extra table when one became available. The food was excellent and arrived piping hot, even though many of us ordered individually. Thank you for a great evening. we shall definitely be returning. 5*s

One hour of waiting to have just some food defrosted with a microwave. Very expensive, the best part of this experience has been exit from the local. Two stars for the gentle personal.

The pub is a joke. No beer again, kitchen always closed, never anyone in there it's like a morgue.

Four of us went there for lunch, only complaint was the nachos, very little cheese, definately a miss. Other food was brilliant, just a pity that the nachos brought the experience down.

Enjoyed to be there, nice and friendly staff, good atmosphere, ! Nice place to spend out with friends.

Nice pub, we went there to eat as we had on a previous occasion, the pies were great, but unfortunately they did not have the veg/vegan pie on the menu this time, so we had a drink and left.

Very disappointed , this was a great pub to go to but has now gone down hill 🥺. It’s always cold in there and not very welcoming , I’ve also noticed that most of the reviews have been written by members of staff 😡. Tried to call last night to see if they were showing the boxing on Saturday night but after 3hrs of trying and nobody bothering to answer I gave up .

Liv gave us incredible service, she was polite and gave us a good laugh. Will be back again!
