Came here for a girls night out and the food was amazing. Staff are all friendly and always welcome you with a smile. Will defiantly be returning… Thankyou Giggling squid

I've had enough of Giggling Squid Chislehurst. The management here is so incompetently run that I honestly don't know how this place stays in business. The whole operation is a complete mess, and it's clear that no one at the top has the slightest clue about running a restaurant properly. First off, the management is totally absent when it comes to any real oversight. There's no organization or structure whatsoever, and it's evident that no one is holding the place to a standard. The atmosphere is chaotic, the dining experience is frustrating, and it's clear that the people in charge couldn't care less about delivering a good customer experience. It's shocking how little effort is put into maintaining even the most basic level of service or quality. It's impossible to ignore the complete lack of any leadership. The managers seem more interested in standing around chatting or completely ignoring customers' needs than actually making sure things are running smoothly. I ve watched things fall apart at this location multiple times, and every single time, the management does absolutely NOTHING to fix it. No one ever takes responsibility for the issues, and it feels like they're just letting the place crumble. If you're wondering why the food quality is inconsistent or the service is subpar, it's because the management has no clue what they're doing. They don't seem to care about maintaining standards or ensuring customers leave happy. This isn't just a small oversight; it's a systematic failure at the top level. Honestly, I'd recommend avoiding this place entirely unless you want to deal with terrible management and a restaurant that seems to be run on autopilot. There are plenty of other places in Chistehurst where the management actually knows how to take care of their customers and run a business. Giggling Squid Chislehurst is a prime example of how poor leadership can ruin what could have been a great dining experience.

The service was terrible, and the quality of the food was disappointing. Our meals arrived cold, and every order was wrong. When it came time to pay, the confusion resulted in ten different receipts being printed—completely absurd! The waitstaff all appeared disinterested and unfriendly, with one particular waitress, wearing a black blazer and having dark hair, being especially stressed. She even spilled curry sauce all over our table and then told us, "Take your food and go." I was appalled by the lack of professionalism and rude behavior. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise others to avoid this restaurant.

Had a great dinner hear, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was also excellent, having been to Thailand the food certainly tasted authentic. Restaurant is nicely decorated!

Visited with friends and we all had delicious food. The flavours were incredible. There are lots of great options for vegan mains and sides. Only one vegan dessert on the menu. Disappointing that there are no alternative milks available, we then went elsewhere for coffee afterwards

I really loved the food but unfortunately the service wasn’t great, on arrival they couldn’t find our booking then a lady which could’ve been the manager came to have a look and wasn’t very welcoming. She didn’t seem happy which changed the mood for us. we waited over an hour to be served and noticed that other people that came in after us was served before us we ordered our drinks and it seems like they forgot so we reminded them when our food did arrive there was an extra rice which they billed us for, and my friend ordered a glass of wine which was less than half the glass we made them aware, but they said it is right when she ordered another glass it was full, then to top it off we were rushed for the table back when we should’ve had the table for two hours but because they took over an hour to serve us that amounted up to our restricted time

The service was awful on the New Year’s Day. They did not have anything for the kids crafts or coloring and when we asked for something for the kids to play with they said you place your order first. Then the waiter was very loud and explained they finished their coloring pencil and ignored the request to give the little girls a pen at least to keep entertained during dinner. Food is average but we would recommend the fisherman’s feast and honey crisp seafood. The red curry was very strong and noodles were over cooked.

4 of us went new years eve. We have been here before. Menu is great with just the right size portions. Service was excellent , efficient but never felt rushed. All staff friendly and price seems to represent good value. 7.5% service charge added to bill which is reasonable. Good atmosphere for a busy place . Highly recommended. Kevin

Not a great experience at all. We arrived and they didn’t know about our reservation at pre- order menu (24th December). The food was good although very pricey considering that they didn’t served the rice with the red curry (?). But the worst was the front of house and the Supervisor (sure not a Manager ) that was in charge on the night. Order messed up- billed messed up- and attitude very poor. Too bad for the Kitchen Team that deserves much more than working with such a poor front of house staff. I don’t think I would like to come back in particular on Christmas period.

The food was delicious and the cocktails lovely. Our waitress, Matilda, couldn’t do enough for us and was very attentive. Also gorgeous inside.

We have just enjoyed a very nice lunch, the atmosphere there was lovely and are waitress Matilda made us very welcome. The meal was excellent and I highly recommend it.

Our server Matilda was wonderful and advised the best things to order on the menu. It was a lovely place with excellent food.

We ate in earlier this month and the food was amazing. Brandi our server was so knowledgeable about the menu epically as we had a nut allergy on our table. She recommended dishes and alternatives. Food was very tasty and a couple of dishes were quite ‘hot’ but if this isn’t your thing they adjust to suit! We will be back.

Food is great! Love the restaurant decor. Unfortunately the speed of service towards the end of our visit as we were trying to order dessert and pay the bill was a let down.

I ordered my birthday dinner on deliveroo, it took over an hour to receive it and it arrived some of the items were soggy and cold . the food was very sweet and bland for Thai food, absolutely no flavour. I guess there was a ckicken green curry offered as i didnt order it, i had a mouth full of it and found a metal string in my mouth which is i guess from a metal sponge. that was almost £60 wasted as half of it went down the bin

A group of 11 of us ate there last night. Daniel was our waiter. He was great. The restaurant was very busy and quite noisy and our group was very uncoordinated people were chatting about all sorts of things across the and down the table but Daniel remained unflustered. He eventually got everyone’s order . Everything arrived in a timely manner and was very good. What struck me most was how calm Daniel was and how well the table staff delivered our food. The worked perfectly as a team. Well done

I had an exceptional dining experience at this Thai restaurant! Matilda and another lady, who was our waitress, were absolutely fantastic. They were polite, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations that enhanced our evening. The food was outstanding, with vibrant flavors and perfect portions. Every dish was a delight, showcasing the authenticity and quality of their cuisine. A highlight of the night was their Tiramisu Delight cocktail – a must-try and an easy 10/10! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for any occasion. I can't wait to return. Highly recommended!

My friend and I had Thai green curry with prawns for lunch today ,and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The rice was terrible -completely lacking in flavour, clumped together in a sticky lump ,and not even warm . It was far from the light , fluffy rice we expected ,and it didn't seem freshly cooked. The curry itself was just lukewarm,and the prawns were over cooked and rubbery. Overall,the meal was underwhelming,and we didn't enjoy it at all . We definitely won't be returning .

Took like 30 minutes for a bottle of lemonade. Food tasted pretty good but got food poisoning so that's a bummer. Follow that up with a stone cold cup of coffee and yeah that's a 1/5 stars.

This was my second visit to Giggling Squid in Chislehurst, and I have to say, it’s quickly becoming a favourite. I’ve eaten at countless places and tried squid dishes all over, but hands down, this place serves the best salt and pepper squid I’ve ever had! It’s perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of crunch—one of those dishes that leaves you craving more. The service was also spot-on. The staff was warm, friendly, and made us feel right at home. They’ve really got a knack for creating a welcoming vibe, which is a big part of why I’d come back. Now, as much as I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, there was a bit of… shall we say, “extra excitement” at the table next to us. The kids there seemed to have a mind of their own, and despite their parents’ best efforts, they weren’t exactly quiet dinner companions. Let’s just hope for a bit of luck with our seating next time! Overall, Giggling Squid has secured its spot as our go-to in the area. For anyone who appreciates friendly service and top-notch squid, this place is a must. I am looking forward to my next visit (hopefully with quieter neighbours)!

My daughter and I had a fabulous meal, it was so delicious. Giggling Squid restaurants are my daughters absolute favourite, and it was my first time eating in them... my favourite aswell now.

We had a great dinner tonight. All dishes were very good and service was excellent. We were celebrating my father’s birthday and the waiter was so nice to light up his lighter for him (sorry to forget to ask his name). Brandi was also very friendly and sweet. We would love to visit again!

Poor service and the quality of food was not great either. The waitress seemed like she didn’t want to be there, she had a face on her. Incredibly rude!! I have been going there for 5 years but after this not sure I would like to visit.

I went for dinner yesterday, the food was very delicious, good quality, excellent service by Tina, thank you very much, I will be back.

I've visited the Giggling Squid a number of times with friends. A few weeks back I had the best experience yet. The food was beautiful, everything tasted fresh and the flavours were all so different but amazing. The slow-cooked beef on the sharing platter was our highlight. The silky pink Martinis are a must-try! Also, our server Brandi is an absolute star and she was the cherry on top of our whole experience. I've been recommended to everyone and hope to be back soon.

We went for dinner this evening. We waited forever to place our drinks order. I wouldn’t mind but it was early before 6 and the place was quite empty. The staff were standing around and no one person was responsible for our table we had about 5 different people. It took a long time to get our starters we ordered a sharing platter they did not bring any small plates I had to ask for them twice.! Then it took over 1 1/2 hours to get our main course by which time my 2 granddaughters were having a melt down. They did not eat their food at all. No one seemed to care of noticed how long we had to wait. What a disappointment it was a farewell dinner for my parents who are returning to the states. The evening was a total wash out the only saving Grace was the food which was good. I will think twice about going here again.

This place is seriously overpriced. We waited over 20 minutes just for drinks, followed by another 20 minutes for the food. The quality was mediocre, and even the "not spicy" dishes were unexpectedly spicy. They initially brought out the wrong order, and it took another 10 minutes to flag down a server to fix it. The portions are small, especially considering the £20 price tag, and sides, which cost around £5, aren't included. While the decor is nice, the overall experience isn't worth the money.

Had an absolutely first-rate dining experience here; my partner and I were both made to feel extremely welcome by the very friendly waiting staff, and the food was absolutely delicious! Decent-sized portions of very authentic-tasting Thai curry and a very friendly atmosphere. There was a slight delay in bringing us our drinks, and our waitress removed them from our bill by means of an apology for the hold-up, which was totally unprompted and extremely kind! We enjoyed the very friendly table-service from Brandy and Daniel, and the very pleasant ambience - clean, quiet, very enjoyable - would highly recommend!

Really great Thai meal. Thoroughly enjoyed. Our servers were all fantastic, in particular Brandy 👍🏼 Daniel was also very sweet. We enjoyed starters, mains and dessert. The portions were very generous so I'm not sure why some people are b*tching about portion size. Chicken Satay starter was delicious! Chicken Massaman Curry was nom nom and the Jasmine Ice Cream with Toasted Rice was a great way to end the meal! Clean toilets, nice decor, lovely service and delicious food. Thoroughly enjoyed everything!

Ordered on deliveroo. Came stone cold. Lady on the end of the giggling squid phone line tried to help but just fobbed it off. The first order 2 months ago was perfect. Not sure what's happened to this place

Came for a celebration meal with family. Great food, we had the street food sharing starter for 3 but shared between 4 and it was plenty! I went for the marinated steak and crispy slow cooked beef for my main and was delicious!

Food is always very good, especially the lunch menu whether it’s the set options or the tapas style. Unfortunately this visit was let down by the service. We were the only table sat inside ( a handful of tables were outside) and it felt like we were forgotten about. The service was slow to order drinks and receive them. The food did arrive quite quick but nothing else was really offered. Ordered another drink to have with the meal but this took over 10 minutes to arrive so I had finished eating by this point. Only seemed to be two members of staff working on the day which I could understand a slower pace if it was busy but like I said we were the only table inside. The staff were friendly however but the experience was let down by the slow pace.

Food was tasty, recommend the Salt and Pepper Squid and Chicken Paneang. Good service as it wasn't that busy so better than last time but over looked the booking special request of it was my Partners Birthday.....

Food is not very true to thai food depends on the chef. Staff is carless sometimes. Not fit to their price tag.

I had a lovely dining experience here - can't fault it! The staff were excellent, attentive and friendly. The food was delicious; we had a sharer and I very much enjoyed my papaya salad. Lots of complex bright flavours. I loved the selection of mocktails (the mango chilli was delicious). And the decor and vibe are very nice too. Can't wait to go back and try more things!

Went to the restaurant and had a very pleasant experience , the food was absolutely delicious and it’s clear to all patrons how much not only the cooks care but also the staff care about the customer experience . The general manager Kelly was very friendly , welcoming and accommodating to the special needs within our party . Thank you for such a pleasant experience we will friendly be returning especially when the general manager Kelly is around as she insured all of our specials requests and needs were dealt with and she went extra lengths to make this trip special .

Portions are very small for everything. I paid 8.90 for a 175ml glas of wine, I don’t know what it is they brought me but that was not it. Then I got one portion of squid, that needed up being two tiny pieces along with some vegetables. I also got the satay chicken and jasmine rice take away, that turned out to be two skewers, 3 slices of pickled carrots and 3 of cucumber. The satay had no sauce basically and it didn’t taste like a normal satay dish. Squid wasn’t great either. So I just drank the little wine I was given, had the started and ordered the”main” take away. There is no internet connection and no wifi, they won’t give you a password.

Very good food and good quality and excellent service staff very helpful and friendly would go again, 10 out of 10 would recommend 👍

Great food. The starters were brilliant & the ferry boat curry was magnificent. I do object to the service charges when the prices are already fairly high.

This chain is an Islamic halal chain. It does not explicitly make it clear it is a halal slaughter restaurant that is deeply offensive to British people. It should be made overtly clear it does not purchase British standard produce. This is becoming disgustingly common where brainwashed people setting up restaurants in British areas think slitting an animal’s neck open and leave it in agony for hours as it bleeds out is acceptable in Britain. It is about time these establishments had lessons in civilisation.

Having just come back from a holiday in Thailand where the food in restaurants is freshly cooked to order, I was really looking forward to my first visit to this restaurant in the hope of having a meal that re created the amazing taste and flavours of the food I had the pleasure of experiencing in Thailand. Unfortunately this was not the case. The food in this restaurant is obviously pre-batched cooked and waiting to be ordered where it is then reheated, more than likely microwaved causing it to be devoid of any flavour, It did not taste fresh at all and this was on a Thursday lunchtime with very few people in the restaurant !

Place is good, food is not exceptional but does satisfy your craving for thai food. I liked the ambience of the restaurant.

We've been to the Chislehurst branch a number of times and have always been well looked after and had lovely food. Of the several times we've been, Mikey has always been really attentive and made sure we have everything we need. The food never disappoints either, glad to be only 5 minutes down the road!

Food flavour is hit and miss, sometimes good sometimes tasteless. Unfortunately today it was bland.

The decor is lovely and the booking experience simple. However the service was rather bad, my friend and I got harassed to begin with. I was ignored by one waitress when I asked for an alternative on the starter as they’d run out. Another waitress was chewing gum the entire time. Service was slow, I was given a different drink to the one I ordered. We were given dessert menus and then ignored for 20 minutes and ended up not getting one. A discretionary service charge was added when I was with one other guest. I thought this was rather presumptuous. The food was lovely but very pricey, the service pretty shocking. I wouldn’t go again.

We called ahead to ensure no stairs as my mother in law was on crutches (they said no stairs) only to find steps to get into the restaurant!!! Great food but service was very slow. It was quiet and plenty of staff so it definitely let the experience down.

Have dined here on quite a number of occasions now, and it's a real favourite of ours. Great Thai food - their starters, curries and pad Thai are excellent. The service is brilliant and the staff are always happy to help!

Great location and easy to find with nearby parking. The dessert was lovely. Some main options were better than others but overall lovely and helpful staff.

Having eaten here many times, I decided to order food via Deliveroo The green curry was brown and tasted of masala, the red curry was no better. I phoned the restaurant and was told to ask for a refund from Deliveroo. Having spent 67 pounds on a foul taste, I think they need to rethink their strategy and supply either a tasty meal or stop delivering What a waste of an evening

Do not order take away from Giggling Squid. It’s fantastic food but they don’t give a monkeys if the driver doesn’t turn up. If it’s a £20 quid takeaway it’s fine but it’s a lot more than £20. Shame on us anyway. We had a fish finger sandwich and as long as Deliveroo refund us we are quids in. Don’t do it…..we won’t again as the manager at Giggling Squid didn’t care at all…..

When I booked the restaurant for my family, I was told that I would be seated in the Bird Cage, a nice table surrounded by a bird cage looking frame. But when we arrived, someone else was sitting there. We sat elsewhere and ordered some drinks. About 15 minutes later the drinks arrived. The restaurant wasn't very busy so I don't know why it took them so long. We asked for some prawn crackers, but we're told they had none left. When our food arrived however, it was delicious. Well done chef, shame you are being let down by the other staff.

I have always enjoyed the Giggling Squid & the food is generally excellent. On this occasion we ordered a takeaway via Deliveroo which came to over £100. What was delivered consisted of one portion of rice and one main dish. All our starters and 3 more main courses, plus additional rice were missing. The Deliveroo driver drove off saying it “wasn’t her problem” leaving us without a receipt or the rest of our food. Contacting Deliveroo with a problem is almost impossible - only a chat bot is available, although we did eventually get them to agree to re deliver our food. In the meantime, I had contacted the restaurant, who promised to get a manager to call me back, but no-one ever did. Our missing items were re-delivered, by which time the first main course & rice were cold. I would have at least expected them to re-deliver the whole order so that we could all eat together. Lesson learnt - eat in if you’re going to the Giggling Squid & never order from here via Deliveroo.

Went for lunch at your restaurant, I had the pepper squid, which was hot because you know it has to cook fresh. I had the chicken wings as well, which was lukewarm. I did inform the staff about it to tell the chef. On my main course, which was the beef, when it arrived, the gravy it had a skin on it, which gave you the impression that it had been sitting down before it came out. I informed the staff about my lukewarm main course, which was removed and said it would be cooked fresh. The food came back to me within two to three minutes I know that wasn't cooked fresh again because when I started eating the food the middle was so hot and that kind of heat can only be produced from being in a microwave ☹️😤 Birthday treat was DISAPPOINTED because of the chef lack of professionalism.

The food is decent for a chain and I enjoyed my meal. For food, I would rate it 4. But I'm docking a star because the speed of service was very slow. Despite dining during a non-busy time and not being a large group, there was a huge wait between courses. I can only imagine they would struggle badly during busier time periods.

Had a lovely lunch today and were seated in the pergola which was really pretty. Our server Daniel was excellent and really attentive to our requests. All the food was tasty as were the drinks. I even got a free glass of prosecco as it was my birthday recently.
