We'd always wanted to try this local restaurant, having read good reviews and seen that it is well patronised. Sadly I have to report that the food was not great and we were astounded at the cost - over £200 for three bowls of pasta and two rounds of beer/wine. Two had seafood with pasta, one of which had a solitary prawn.... I chose carbonara which was cold and over salty. I am not in the habit of writing poor reviews, generally I vote with my feet. But on this occasion the eye watering cost has prompted me to write. I see that the restaurant is very often busy, and certainly on the night we were there it was buzzy and the atmosphere was great. I aways wish that local venues thrive and so perhaps this was an unusual evening. But we will not return and risk spending a lot of money in less than mediocre food.

Sono stata in vacanza a Londra con la mia famiglia e per festeggiare il compleanno di mio marito, siamo andati a cena in questo ristorante che ormai è un punto di riferimento per gli italiani a Londra e che conoscevo già per fama. Piatti italiani con un affondo sulla Puglia, di cui devo assolutamente recensire le spettacolari orecchiette con cime di rape e salsiccia, dove l’aggiunta del finocchietto risulta vincente ( sono pugliese e so di cosa parlo). Ma anche la cacio e pepe, servita con mezza caciotta e la deliziosa carbonara meritano! Sfiziosi gli scagliozzi foggiani, triangolini di polenta fritta golosissimi che hanno trovato un connubio perfetto con la salsa al formaggio. Gnocchi alla nutella spaziali, con una granella frizzantina che amplifica e fa esplodere tutto il loro sapore. Un fine pasto perfetto! Il tutto in un ambiente stravagante e particolare, con personale attento e gentile e proprietari competenti e simpaticissimi. Prezzo giusto considerando la qualità dei prodotti. Veramente un’esperienza piacevole!

I stayed with my family while visiting London. Room furnished with flair, welcoming atmosphere, very kind staff and impeccable service. That said, I had the best cacio e pepe ever. Gola would be an excellent restaurant in Italy too, but being in London clearly has added value. Good value for London standards.

Absolutely AMAZING… food was stunning… wine was perfect … and service phenomenal… they really gave you a warm welcome and made you feel very special throughout.

We chose this place based on previous reviews, however we were pretty disappointed overall. Service was not great, likely due to us being in the far corner of the restaurant. Food was very expensive for what was served, especially the £4 surcharge for gluten free pasta which is shop bought. Although GF pasta is an option it is not clear which dishes are actually GF adaptable based on other ingredients.

Gola was recommended through a friend and I’m glad I took their recommendation. The ambience was elegant yet playful. A mix of white linen napkins, tied in an abstract form, and eclectic art. Mostly white, clean lines with pops of color. The food followed these lines blending traditional Italian dishes we all love with some unexpected twists like the ravioli with a honey truffle sauce. In short, delicious and probably some of the best I’ve had, outside Italy. Lastly the service. Excellent. Personal and friendly without being intrusive. The owner, Aaron, greeted me at the door and checked on me several times, helping me make some decisions and recommending some wine. Julie, the server, had a genuine smile and was clearly happy to be there. She was professional and yet kind and approachable. Aaron’s elegant wife was always checking in on customers, many of whom were obviously regulars. A great experience. I’ll be back next time I’m in London.

I had a lovely meal at this cozy restaurant with warm lighting and soft background music. The staff was incredibly friendly. We ordered focaccia, burrata, Cacio e Pepe, pasta with ragù, cheesecake, tiramisù, and two sparkling waters, totaling £118 with an extra 12.5% service charge. The food was flavorful and satisfying, though the prices felt a bit high. It was my husband's birthday, and while we enjoyed the evening, it would have been nice to receive a small gesture like a complimentary treat or a "Happy Birthday" message on the dessert, as other places often do. Overall, a great experience. 4 stars.
