Golden Bowl in Southwark

Even though they don’t normally deliver this way they have the past few times & the food is always hot & tastes amazing

Terrible tonight not sure what’s happened! Usually it’s good. Tonight prawn balls burnt like concrete, Garlic prawns burnt tasted awful most of it was cold, chilli beef was not nice I’m really really disappointed to be honest! We have ordered a lot from here and never had it this bad £70+ for an order and hardly any eaten!

The original delivery was due 20:35 - 20:55, but arrived at circa 21:25. by the time it arrived, it was barely even warm. very disappointed.

Was meant to be 45 to 60 min delivery, We wanted to eat before going out - still no food!

The food was late, when it arrived most of the order was either missing or just wrong. The food that did arrive was freezing cold and completely inedible. I had no option but to throw it out. I genuinely think Just Eat should dump this place as it’s the worst takeaway, in town. Avoid like the plague would be my suggestion, it’s a shame because this place used to be quite good. Now it’s a health hazard.

Ordered at 17:20, meant to be delivered between 18:35 & 18:55, tracker completed as delivered at 18:55. But food turned up at 20:05

Waited over two hours for food still has not arrived complete joke

Very slightly late however NYE so we can allow a slight delay! Food was still warm and very tasty, will be back again in 2025 🦾

I can’t review something that never turned up despite several calls telling me it’s 10min away.

Was given a time slot of over an hour after I ordered which was already a bad start. Then food didn’t arrive. So I called restaurant and was told everyone is late mine will be there when it’s there. Had to wait another 15 minutes, then called again to be told it was being put into a car as I spoke. Food arrived and was cold, half of it missing. Awful awful experience.

Driver first called me at 5:52 to ask for directions and called me another 3 times before managing to deliver the food at 6:20. Food was obviously cold as a result

over 2 1/2 hours after ordering, the driver rang to say just eat gave him the wrong address, 117 instead of 177, When it arrived it was cold and went straight in the bin. I expect a refund !!!

This is our go to Chinese , every time is absolutely perfect! Haven’t ordered from somewhere else in a long time , have never had any problems with them. Only thing I will say is the delivery drivers can be a bit rude at times.

order was set for 6pm but never got here till 6.45pm and then the order was completely wrong

the food is horrendous. The ribs are so dry you can't eat them. Prawn toast is stale and hard with no flavour. chicken balls were hard, sauce was like a big blob. All food wasn't hot, Luke warm at best. absolute waste of money never ordering from here again

Wong food in order, or something went wrong. prawns with broccoli was a dish of onion, one bit or broccoli and two baby corn. zero prawns.

The order took just over a hour and half. It was cold unfortunately and absolutely no apology from the driver. The food was still lovely. Just a shame about the wait

Really good quality, but as with all Chinese takeaway very expense. Example salt & pepper chips over £5, pot of S&P sauce £3.50. Crazy

Why accept orders when you can’t deliver for over 2 hours. Absolutely ridiculous

Food was ok. Chicken balls tasted like they were yesterday’s. Barely warm and very chewy. Chow mein had hardly any noodles. More just chicken and beansprouts. Curry sauce was very thick and lumpy. Don’t think I’ll be ordering again.

Order was delivered 1 hour 30 minutes after ordering which was the time given but you do not know that until you have placed order, if we had known would have ordered somewhere else have never had to wait that long for other takeaways. Food was cold, overcooked, stodgy & oily didn't have much taste. Probably the worst takeaway we have had most of it went in the bin. Won't be using them again.

The worst £50 I have ever spent and the worst Chinese food we have ever had. In the Dim sum platter the prawn toasts were crammed in and so were limp. The sweet & sour pork balls were awful and the rest of the food no better. It all went in the bin.

Bland, hardly any duck in duck in oyster sauce. Mainly vegetables. Late even though ordered hour and half in advance of when required.

I ordered my food and waited for even an hour after it was supposed to have been delivered (and the business close time) and my food hasn't arrived. This is two and a half hours after I ordered my food. I ordered at 9:15 pm and projected delivery time was 10:25-10:45 pm. Don't accept an order you don't intend to deliver.

We have always used this takeaway, but with the last one we had being below our expectations, we thought we would give it another shot, but wish we hadn't! 45 minutes late, but could have been the bad weather so happy to wait. Cold, greasy, soggy food and prawn crackers were stale! requested a refund but doubt will be returned.

Food great and service brilliant. Arrived early. Unfortunately a spider walked into my house just as the food was being handed over so apologies to the lovely driver who had me scream in his ear!!!!!

Delivered early , but that worked well

One of the first orders of the evening. Obviously last nights left overs. Chicken balls and chicken nuggets had obviously been reheated. They were dry and chewy. Won’t be using again.

Good quality food and delivered quickly.

Not so great as I spent £30 on an overcooked bit of steak. the chips were ok. and the chicken chow main was okay. but the shredded beef in chilli sauce wow there was hardly any of it .. and the sauce was non-existent... don't think I'll be using them again.

The prawn balls were awful, very strange texture and chewy and the prawns inside tasted odd. The chicken fried rice was basically just plain, soggy white rice with tiny bits of shredded chicken in it. Very disappointed unfortunately

Absolutely spot on. Food was delivered so much quicker than expected, it was well cooked and delicious!

Rice tasted burnt and not nice and at and the chicken curry was slimey, very much hit and miss this Chinese is and absolutely no consistency in there quality.

Food was awful. Reheated for a previous day. Over cooked no taste. It all went in the bin.

I ordered a dish which said it was a red cabbage dish. It was £6.40 and consisted of a little white cabbage, onion and a few slices of carrot. The clear sauce was OK but not very tasty

we ordered vegetable chow mein but received spicy vermicelli noodles. chicken balls were delicious.

The food was cold and spring rolls and starters were soggy. I called the restaurant to complain and the manager told me that the driver got lost.

BBQ sauce wasn’t BBQ sauce it was Satay. Mixed up my order.

Food was great as normal but the new driver came to the door with no change. As I paid he then asked if I wanted change and said he would have to go back to the car. I find this really rude.

Chicken in garlic was delicious as were the spicy chicken wings, Tom Yum Soup could have been spicier for me but overall great food and it arrived before scheduled and hot! 👍

I have always rated Golden Bowl, but the last two times I have ordered from here it's taken over 2 hours to be delivered and has arrived cold. On this occasion, it took 2.5 hours to be delivered (we only live 15 mins away) and this was an hour later than it should have been and was so cold on delivery I had to reheat it. Considering there is now a £5 delivery fee which is crazy, it certainly shouldn't be arriving cold.

Very poor experience. We ordered our food at 6pm and delivery was 19:40pm and food arrived at 20:52pm. These takeaways should stop marking food as delivered when it has not even been cooked yet nor left the premises. This happened to us where the food was marked as delivered at 19:40 which was not the case. This ability to do this should be fixed so that food can o ly be marked as delvered when the driver is at your property.The food was stone cold and wet due to condensation. This has put me off ordering with Golden Bowl Newmarket again. Also its courtesy to call customers when their food going to be an hour late.

Only problem was is that I ordered 2 curry sauces and they didn’t come but have been ensured by them that next time we order we will get a discount when we call.

It was over 1 hour late, and arrived cold. When we called they were very unhelpful and just kept saying ‘it’s on its way’!

Took two hours to arrive was asked to pay a pound for delivery extra on top of delivery, food was crushed into a bag.

Delivery took to long , food came cold

We normally order from here and food is lovely, however tonight the chips was dry, the chicken balls was all doughy and the prawn crackers was stale, the rest was lovely tho and very tasty, delivery was 45 mins late even after pre ordering, we rang up and they offered us 15% off next order 😊 hopefully next time everything will be tasty like it normally is

Placed order at 18:39, the app advised there was a 45-60min delivery time, once ordered it showed ETA as 20:00 to 20:20. I paid a £5 delivery charge, and feel that the delivery charge I am paying entitles me to have my order delivered within the 45-60min advertised. Even with the additional buffer of an hour it was still late and my meal didn't arrive till 20:51 - So have waited 2hours 10mins for an order. Delivery driver wasn't hanging about and just passed the bag over.

Service and delivery was exceptional. The food quality however was not great. Chicken balls were chewy and over cooked, pancake rolls were just odd, full of bean sprouts and nothing else. Beef and mushrooms were slimy. Chicken curry and rice were good though. Not entirely convinced that my food was freshly cooked to order. The poor bits seemed like they had been reheated.
