Golden Sunrise Warrington in Warrington

A CHINESE takeaway in Warrington has been told that ‘improvement is necessary’. Golden Sunrise in Orford was recently visited by environmental inspectors from Warrington Borough Council. As a result, it was handed a new two-out-of-five food hygiene score, which is now published on the Food Standards Agency website. During their visit to the Norris Street venue on October 31, inspectors gave scores in three individual categories, before the collective two-star score. These categories are hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and the building, and management of food safety. The final category inspects system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, as well as evidence that staff know about food safety, and whether the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future.

I ordered salt and pepper chicken pieces ,not a lot of flavour and chicken was dry also got chips and they was awful not even fresh but frozen

Absolutely disgusted with food , no sauce dried up , phones to complain and apparently chef said it was cooked ok , was rank !!!

1st time ordering from here in years. We both had fried rice dishes which were large portions and very tasty. We also got spring rolls and they were the nicest ones we've had for a long time. Will definitely be ordering from here again. Oh and delivery was 15mins early 😃

Food took 2 hours to come (on a Monday) when ringing twice they said it was out for delivery after waiting another 40 minutes it finally arrived no apologies for it being late and quite rude on the phone really. Food was awful and overpriced most of it went in the bin, will be using somewhere else from now on. £45 I won't get back

Would give 0 if I could. Overpriced stale food. The chips are stale definitely are pre cooked then finishes off when required, the curry sauce is usually a perfect way to rehydrate the chips but the sauce is so salty it’s actually inedible.

Ordered some food today sent boiled rice instead of soft noodles would not listen on the phone as we ordered it apparently even though no one even likes boiled rice shocking service

Best Chinese takeaway in Warrington in my opinion. Hot and Sour soup is great, Love all the appetisers here and yet to have a main meal that's bad, Satay and the Vermicelli is especially nice. Delivery is always rapid aswell.

Over priced and inedible chips £2.30 for curry sauce (only enough to Rehydrate the chips) Not worth the £16.40 but this place will be Golden Bankrupt wise if this is the best they can do with chips. Never again, will stick with chippy in longford as they know how to cook chips good.

It's a small takeaway but the food and the portions are great. I had sweet and sour beef which had lots of ginger in it. The duck spring rolls were fantastic. They now accept card payments.

Wonderful friendly customer service Delivery prompt friendly and courteous. As always food arrived on time fresh and hot . Delicious. The meal was enjoyed by all . We would highly recommend special Chop suey, special curry and aromatic Duck .

Lovely food. Had shredded beef and pineapple, with salt and pepper chips and separate pepper sauce (spicy as requested) and special Wandering Dragon (more like a black bean sauce with spices) with fried rice. Fast delivery, Hot food, reasonable prices. I rang rather than using Just Eat...would recommend and use again.

My son collected our order this evening as a mother's day reat as he is not here tomorrow. Unfortunately the meal was inedible, far too salty and we were unable to eat it, it had to be binned, such a shame as I was really looking forward to sharing with my son as we don't often get the opportunity.

Perfect meal ordered and delivered with 25 mins. Always used the sunrise for years and never had reason to complain.

I ordered for my first time this evening have had half of my food didn't turn up and gave me some of someone else's meal they changed it food was a pouring not sticking to covid had 2 different drivers and didnt feel safe been sick of the food they refused a refund staff were unpervesional i spend £47,30 for most of it to go in the bin wasnt happy. Un mannered staff i wouldnt go there ever again

Used to regularly order from here before it changed hands. Afterwards prices increased but quality was not as good. I have used somewhere else since, but as they were closed, I thought I would give Golden Sunrise a try again. However, after confirming my address by telephone and waiting for delivery, I was phoned by the driver saying that he had been banging on my door. No he had not ! He had been banging on a neighbours door and they have been less than pleased with me, to say the least ! Really ? How hard is it to call at the right address ? Will be a long time before I use them again.

Always been lovely food and service, been in tonight to collect order stood inside with 3 other people ( no social distancing) to be stood for 10 minutes and not acknowledged was pure ignorance, I walked out. I did ring them to complain they said what do you want me to say, then they said your order has been ready for a while I told them to keep it. Disgusting service, sorry you lost a good regular customer.

Was told it would be an hour and 40 minutes wait,which was fine,but waited over 3 hours for it and when it arrived it was Luke warm,Will never order from them again ☹️

Vegetables prepared and cooked to perfection. Rice so tender with no claggy lumps. Obviously, this restaurant takes pride in it's product. Thoroughly enjoyable.

We ordered our meals at 6.51pm on a SATURDAY night and no joke it took SEVEN minutes to be delivered. Food was delicious as always, favourite Chinese I've ever found.

Lovely very friendly Chinese takeaway. I have had many items on the menu. My favourite choice is shreaded beef. All meals are lovely. I've been going there for 4 years I have never had a bad meal. They do deliver. Try the sunrise for yourself.

AVOID This is probably the worst meal I have ever paid for. The ribs were dry and some full of fat and gristle, the bbq sauce was watery and tasteless. The special fried rice was a rip off for what wasn't in it. The duck and cashew was in a watery sauce with rubbery duck and the chips were anemic. The salt and pepper squid was wet not crispy. What a waste of money. Will AVOID in future

Has this place changed hands? I had salt and pepper chicken and asked for extra spicy and all they done was throw some extra raw chilli's on top of dry tasteless Chicken and the plain soft noodles had spring onion carrots and onions in. So the dog was in heaven as it was all inedible. Tryed to phone to complain but got no answer. I will never order for here again

Worst experience ever!!! Waited for an hour when the person at the counter told me it was going to take 50 minutes. When I called up they said that it will take up to another hour. I wanted my money back they refused. Never going to use again. Ever!! Worst takeaway ever.

never ordering again chips were soggy , rice was disgusting almost tasted like packet rice , over charged paid nearly £20 and still was not enough for two people . !!!! never again !!!

Great food, very authentic. All the dishes that I ordered are great; you can tell they only use fresh ingredients. If you ask me what is my favorite then I have to say it is the Shredded Beef in hot & sour Sauce, it is just simply tasty!!!

Fantastic friendly service and delicious food. My family and I won't go anywhere else now, Sunrise is by far the best Chinese Take Away in Warrington. Menu has so much choice, every dish we have had has been amazing! Salt and Pepper ribs are very tasty! Chicken Satay, Singapore Vermicelli (personal favourite). Service with a smile and staff that can't do enough for you! :)
