Nice welcoming basic little cafe attached to a busy bakery shop. Good well priced simple food served in a warm environment. Great little oasis during a long bike ride.

Stopped at this nice little cafe attached to a cake shop on a bike ride. Got a lovely hot coffee and sausage roll and piece of millionaires shortbread. Hit the spot perfectly. Friendly staff and clean toilets.

Utterly appauled at how rude staff were, extremely unwelcoming, a far better greeting at the café across the road

We went in here for breakfast after spending the night at 'Home from Home' because although the establishment was very comfortable they did not provide breakfast. We were amazed at the quality of the breakfast provided - I had the small English breakfast but it was certainly as much as I could eat! The display of cakes etc. was magnificent (and very reasonably priced) but as soon as we had finished our breakfast I got my wife out before she started yielding to temptation!

Most of us had the" Meal deal" for £4 which included a large bowl of homemade lentil soup with a bread roll which was very sustaining, a hot drink of choice and a cake / pastry (which some of us took away to enjoy later). Not room fro large groups but obviously well known locally and was doing brisk business.

The best place to buy bread. So much better than what is offered by supermarkets. Great service in the shop

The staff were uber friendly, the breakfast was huge, excellent and cheap. Just driving through, saw the place and stopped; 9 blokes pilled in and the young ladies serving there just took it in their stride and very quickly served up 9 hearty breakfasts. They also sell a wonderful array of fresh cream cakes and the like, hot pies, pasties and fresh bread. Locals in and out the whole time and the girls knew every one by name. Excellent!!

A traditional bakers that has a few tables to eat in. The various pies and sandwiches are great value for money. Space is a bit of a premium so not really suited for large groups. on street parking right outside.

I was delighted to receive a Voucher for Afternoon Tea for 2 people at John Watts. The Staff were OK but not particularly friendly or welcoming .. not a good start ! We were given a menu & were asked to choose a Sandwich each & a Scone each. The Tea & Sandwiches/Scones arrived promptly, the Sandwiches were freshly made but were served with no trimmings ie Salad, Coleslaw, Crisps (as the menu stated) We opted for the Raspberry & Vanilla Scone, it was hard & dry looking, when cut open it there was no sign of Raspberries & it was a strange grey colour ... very strong Vanilla taste rather than Raspberry ! Not pleasant - luckily we had Jam & Clotted Cream to take away the taste ! Not one member of staff returned to our table to ask if everything was OK, if we needed our tea topped up etc A most disappointing experience, as this is one of the oldest Coffee Shops in Carlisle I expected old fashioned friendly service - NOT the case - sorry to say we won't be back & certainly wouldn't recommend 😕

Always my favourite bar in Carlisle. The staff, drinks and decor are second to none. Whether it’s a lovely day enjoying the beer garden or a typical English weather day enjoying being sat by the fire this bar has it all covered. The hospitality is always out of this world and brings that elevated extra touch each time you visit. The attention to detail on the design of each area really makes each space luxurious and different to typical bars, highly recommended a visit for any occasion.

So disappointed with the food served, we had four 3 course meals. The starters and two of the main meals were okay, but the remaining two main meals were disgusting. One had to be replaced, but sadly, the replacement was worse than the original. I only wish I had taken photographs. We will not be back. No refunds were offered, and we didn't ask for any. I knew, given the attitude of the male behind the bar, that I would be wasting my breath asking.

Usual Costa . Not very exciting. Noisy coffee machine. Little atmosphere. Quite expensive. In need of table and floor tidying. Long queues. Wait for the order. Take it to the table yourself. Maybe getting old but I prefer to be served
