Went on Friday 20th December 24. Had a brilliant Christmas meal food hot n gorgeous definitely recommend. Staff brilliant n so friendly

Just had a festive 3 course meal with my family. 8 if us in total.. All food was delicious, proper home cooked Xmas dinner... All served together and piping hot... Gravy was bloody lovely too... Great service, Laura runs a great ship here... Then after dinner we had a few games of pool with the kids and watched the footy. Love this pub... Totally recommend it.

What a smashing pub. We ended up here only because the Wetherspoons in town had closed their kitchen due to a problem and we needed to eat. The pub was an unexpected great find. The staff were friendly, the food was faultlessly good, ( best and cheapest pub food for ages! ) Thoughly enjoyed the steak pie meals. Busy as it was kareoke night, fortunately some of the singing didn't put us off our food. Seriously, it was a fun and an enjoyable evening. Well done The Guildford.

Couldn’t leave 5 stars for food as I haven’t tried it yet, in only rating from watching others scoff . Recently moved close by and was warned that it was full of wasters but pleasantly surprised to find welcoming atmosphere and well behaved punters. Sure they get drunk, but that’s good. Manageress top bird.

We booked a table online for 4 of us as we wanted to see the ABBA tribute.On arrival the staff were so friendly and welcoming,I think this pub has lots of locals but everyone we spoke to was so friendly. We ordered food that arrived promptly and all 4 meals were delicious. The prices of both food and drink are very reasonable. This pub has a great atmosphere and we will be returning in a couple of weeks (when we can get a babysitter)

Used to be my local but has gone downhill fast, different staff only a few regulars I knew a totally different pub to what I had known only a few months previous.

Great friendly service and welcoming atmosphere from staff, we came for the quiz night and it was a lot of fun. Good choice of food and drinks, and the ladies toilets were spotlessly clean! Will be back for another quiz night soon 🎉

The Most active pub in southend city. Always something going on, karaoke, open mic nights, quizzes, jack the joker, raffles, fundraisers for charity’s like MacMillan Cancer Support. While out for your drinks n good times, why not do it in a place where you get the full pub experience and do some good while you’re at it.

Well done to Laura and her staff on the well deserved award for there efforts and fund raising so much money for Macmillan.

Came here with my boyfriend for drinks and food. We ordered the kebab with chicken strips and sides.. found out it was India who was the chef and it was lush! Amelia gave great service at the bar.. defo recommend to come here!

I had a great Friday night in pub recently, there was a band playing 60's,70's,80' and although it was busy we didn't have to wait to get served. There was a mixture of ages young and old singing and dancing which made a really good atmosphere👍 All in all a really good night

Super friendly staff and Laura in particular made me feel very welcome. Good selection of drinks and food. I have heard that the Sunday roast is very good so need to come in on a Sunday to check that out.

Absolutely terrible service. I ordered some drinks but they didn't come. I spoke to the guy behind the bar and he was refusing to served me. He said the receipt didn't print off. I was showing him the receipt on my phone and I have paid but he was been incredibly rude and refusing to serve me. I was talking to him trying to get it sorted and he just turned around and walked off. Absolutely incredibly rude. So if you want to get ripped off and spoken to rudly, then this Is the pub for you.

Returned to the guilford, our local, after a number of years after a couple of awful visits that really put us off. Wow what a turn around, Laura and her wonderful team are doing a amazing job , they go above and beyond with helping me and my disabled husband and better still the guilford is really dog friendly. We now attend quiz evenings every week and enjoy a very affordable Sunday roast most weeks, highly recommend and thank you Laura and team for all your hard work

Guildford is like my second family, the staff is perfect, I can order what I want without even saying something. Food is better then in a restaurant and even when I broke a glass there was no conserns. Every one is very friendly and helpful.The manager lady is very cool and understanding, I wouldn't change nothing about this pub. 10 stars!

My family and I visit this pub quite regularly. The staff are always very friendly and go above and beyond. In fact recently, my mum was quite poorly and when the pub were informed of this, they were so thoughtful and sent her flowers and a card signed by all the staff. This was such a lovely thing to do and I don't know of many other places that would do such a kind gesture. I would definitely recommend this pub whether it be for food, drinks or entertainment, you're sure to be very welcomed and looked after I can guarantee it. 💯

This is a lovely pub. Everyone is extremely friendly, including the bar staff, as well as being very helpful. Food is great with very competitive prices and always well presented. Very clean and tidy throughout. They have a band or DJ every Friday and Karaoke every Wednesday and more entertainment is planned for the near future. Has a pool table, all sports channels and a beer garden. I would recommend anyone to try this pub as it caters for all ages.

Went to the Guildford southend yesterday. Believe me i am a nightmare to eat out with, coz im so critical. 2nd time we have eaten here and burgers are awesome. Will definitely return. Bar staff lovely and landlady so welcoming. Do not judge this pub...

Had the build your own burger meal and it was lovely. Food arrived hot and well presented. First time eating here and I definitely will be returning. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only reason for not awarding 5 stars was service was a tad slow

Never actually been inside the pub, however I feel I am still able to make a comment on the place. I live locally, and can vouch that in the summer time especially it consists of a lot of fighting and arguing.

Visiting UK and tried a gammon steak for 1st time at the Guildford. Beautifully tasty and juicy gammon with free range eggs and crunchy chips...all perfectly cooked and piping hot Absolutely delicious! Reasonable price too 🙂 Will definitely eat at this pub again.

We have been coming down The Guildford since 1992 on and off. We've moved away and come back a few times. We now live in Sheffield but come back often. We love The Guildford, it's a good traditional pub with fantastic staff. The food is fantastic (as pub grub goes) and is very good value for money. Jake, one of the bar staff is so helpful and can't do enough.

The atmosphere was good, the staff were friendly, the Guinness was good as was the food.

Absolue Dive. Urine all over the toilet floor and stank, clearly hadn't been cleaned properly in a while. My beer was definitely past its best as well.

Bar staff are lovely as usual A++ Good atmosphere in the Guildford. Must say its such a shame about the karaoke not being on any more on a Wednesday , loads of people miss it, it breaks the week up it was so good with the DJ Dave. Its definitely quiter with out it, Hopefully in near future it will return : )

Vicky served me today and as usual, she was very polite and always welcomes you with a smile. The food is good value pub food, and although it is part or a large chain and menu is the same as many others, it is always cooked well and served promptly. It's dog friendly which is great!! They have a pool table, darts and 5 fruit machines. Plus loads of free board games to play. If you want a friendly, welcoming pub you can't go wrong!

We come in every Tuesday and the staff are always very friendly! We have a few drinks and some food which is always top notch, can’t grumble at the price either! Proper local pub that I will keep coming back to.
