Gulshan Tandori Resturant in Southend-on-Sea

First time we ate in the Gulshan.Food all very bland,let's start with starters, chicken tikka just warm,pakora soggy and warm,tried the onion bargee ok.Mains most all dishes very thin watery ,Masala and Dansak again watery no flavour stringy chicken no tikka in it ,madras sauce thin no flavour stewed chicken ,same with other dishes .Naan wasn't bad pilau rice was hard all in all very disappointed as read a lot of good reviews it's hard to believe unless that's the only Indian they have ever eaten in would not be going back would not recommend it sorry.Parked in by KFC nowhere to park otherwise.

Ordered from here in the past and has been okay but my order this weekend was delivered late and arrived lukewarm.

Poor quality, food nearly cold. Never again

ate the starter , poppadom and naan this evening. Will eat the curry , rice and bhaji tomorrow. bargain price with the 40% off . superb quality superb quantity, ty Gulshan for a great Sunday night meal .

Food was freezing cold upon arrival Really small portions no flavour at all the naan bread was supposed to have been garlic and onion and had nothing in it. It was just plain naan bread.dry meat too

Food was far from the worst I've had, but quite far from the best. Price was very reasonable though.

AMAZING!! Probably the best indian we have had from you. Everything was 100%. The King prawn curry was incredible. The Prawns were huge and pefectly cooked. The chicken madras was the same with so much chicken. food was so tasty and hot. Thank you.

Food was so bland… I’m shocked The Gulshan has always been one of my favourite Indian restaurants but everything just tasted like meat stew? It was all barely luke warm too and took just shy of 2 hours to be delivered. Disappointed 😔

Bland, greasy and watery. Only thing edible was the naan, the brinjal bhaji side dish and mint sauce. Popudum was floppy (supposed to be 2 but only 1 came) and rice was wet. Very disappointed.

Food arrived in under 20 minutes from ordering, which made me a bit dubious of quality! Shame because we’ve been ordering here for many years. The food was lukewarm, as if it had been sitting around, then sent straight out and the garlic nan we ordered was delivered as just a plain nan.

Excellent food, fast delivery and decent prices. Even received a Christmas card with our delivery which was very thoughtful. Thank you to everyone at gulshan.

This was our first time ordering from Gulshan, and it was great! Food was tasty and hot such good value for money too. We ordered starters, mains, rice, naan and poppadoms for two and there was enough for 4 people! I made a request in the comments box and they called straight away to discuss it. Lovely personal touch with it being delivered in a reusable material bag and a Christmas card too. Will definitely recommend to friends. Thank you

Food is always amazing. It was late but when we called to see where it was, the man on the phone was super apologetic as they had been busy. We didn’t mind though as we order all the time and it’s never late. 10/10.

The food was taste less curry was watery the biriyani was plain rice no spice and the tikka chicken was not nice at all gutted not had Indian in long time my first take away in in months it was terrible

ordered a few different dishes , all just tasted like tomato and meat, very bland , not even sure if it was what I ordered , even though one of the lids was labelled correctly, shame l, as years ago they were great , will not be returning

Food was ready 5 mins early which was great until we got home and it wasn’t hot. Second time we’ve ordered from here and it’s been luke warm and we only live a couple of mins from here.

Second time I’ve ordered from this place food was spot on yet again definitely worth the money. Me and the Mrs. Enjoyed it. 💯

Overall the food was OK. Bombay potatoes were lovely and rice was good. However, the tandoori chicken had absolutely no flavour despite it being such a bright red colour and looking really tasty. Also, the pathia was ok… pretty average nothing special. Definitely would not have been happy if we paid full price but luckily we did it on a 40% off deal. Wouldn’t order again from here.

food was disappointing tonight. Poppadoms were stale, Chicken tasted weird & onion bhaji were tasteless.

The biryani rice was hard, and the meat pieces were tough and chewy. The curry containers were only around half filled, and the meat pieces were again very tough and chewy. The curries tasted bland.

cost me 20 quid to find a rude / disgustingly rude infact man at the end of the telephone. Will never use again

Unfortunately the food was tasteless . Came hot and on time but no flavour to it at all.

Food could of been a little hotter, both in heat & spice. But there was plenty of it.

Cold, hard rice. stale poppadoms, rock hard and cold onion Bhaji. Chicken Tikka Masala, bombay potatoes, mushroom Bhaji and chicken pathia had absolutely not flavour. We have been using this restaurant for years and this was inedible.

Tasteless food, no flavours at all, not freshly cooked, late delivery 1h30m, puts you off indian food completely and after over a year not ordered an Indian takeaway maybe we won't order again for another 2 years unless we will find a better one,

Authentic Bangladeshi/ Indian food. Top chef, he needs to work 7 days a week, we know when he has a day off by the taste of the food. lol

Blandest Indian food I've ever had. Korma for the kids was the only thing with any flavour. Tikka Balti, Sag Paneer, Chicken Chat all with no flavour at all. Chicken Chat didn't come with a pancake, poppadoms didn't come with any salad like most Indians. won't be ordering here again

Not a tikka Masala I've ever known. Not 'creamy' - & the chicken overcooked/dry. Sag aloo ok. Late arrival so travelled around for a while before we got it luke warm. Bought on a good discount but, on this evidence, wouldn't try again.

Tonight I had a delivery from the Gulshan and even though I enjoy the dishes normally tonight they were extra super. The lamb melted in the mouth and the chicken tikka was so tender the knife needed no pressure whatsoever. The food arrived earlier than expected, piping hot and the driver was friendly, polite with a big smile. The Gulshan special offer is good value and nothing is too much trouble if you have any requests ! Thank you all at The Gulshan🙂

Tarka Dall was very rich, really tasty. However the bombay potatoes were incredibly bland, and the Jalfrazee was watery and hot from the chilli but otherwise barely spiced, very little depth to the flavour. Disappointing honestly

Gulshan is my 'go to' for indian food in Southend for quality and value - Amir the proprietor should be commended for his great restaurant and staff.

Delivery was great. Unfortunately our korma tasted sour and masala was watery, disappointing for the price

Lovely Indian food, our new favourite. Chicken tikka masala is lovely and creamy, the madras is lovely and spicy but not too much and their dansak is particularly nice too.

The food here is always delicious, arrives on time or early and is always hot. For the first time we had something missing but the restaurant was exceptional, apologetic and quickly sent out the missing item plus some extra food which arrived within 20 minutes of our call. Mistakes happen but here it's extremely rare and when it does happen their customer service response is second to none. Thank you Gulshan Tandoori 2 very happy customers
