This was our first visit to Haidilao Birmingham. We went for the all you can eat lunch deal. Staff was attentive and passionate initially. Some of the food arrived quickly and swiftly via the robot. However, I believed half of the dishes we initially ordered didn't arrive. I had to ask the staff 50 mins into our meal, and they chased it for us. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to finish the food we ordered; the food portion was also bigger than expected. 10 mins before our time slot ended, a staff approached us saying we had to finish the meal in 10 mins. Else, it would be £10/100g of leftover food. Having 5 plates of food on the table, we ended up paying £40 for the leftovers. The principal of Haidilao was customer service. I would say the service in Bham Haidilao didn't meet my expectation. My experience started great but went downhill bcoz of what happened. Would appreciate if they could approach us, warned us about the food portion size and time remaining earlier on. If the food weren't delayed, perhaps we would have more time to eat and avoid duplicated orders on the machine. My advise here for people who's going for the all you can eat option is be careful when ordering, don't order too much. Would I visit Haodilao in Birmingham again? Probably not. It's not a place with good memory having to pay £100 for 2 of us. Visiting again would be traumatic. If someone pay for my meal, perhaps I would go... P.S. Kudos to the guy who weighed the food and went easy on us. The kungfu noodles guy was also very skillful and I liked the noodles.

As always, the food was amazing! As an international student, it’s nostalgic to enjoy dishes that remind me of home. The servers were fantastic – super accommodating, even with my lack of Chinese language skills 😂Thank you for a great time!

Booked for my Sons 16th Birthday the staff were very welcoming on arrival and we were promptly seated at a large booth which seated all 9 of us. The menu was explained to us and how to order on a tablet as this was our first visit......the food was fresh and well presented and as it was my sons birthday A5 wagyu beef was brought to the table at no extra charge as a Birthday treat ! A group photo was taken at the start of the meal and to our surprise and delight a framed picture was presented to my Son at the end of the meal. The whole experience was fabulous! Thankyou to all the staff for making my sons 16th Birthday so special !

This is good hotpot without a doubt. I prefer the sukiyaki soup base to the tomyum one as the tomyum is quite oily to me. The sukiyaki is very well seasoned. Service is very fast, and staff members are extremely caring. We were served by Michael (Hoang Anh) and he was absolutely fantastic. It is very busy and it is best to pre-book.

It tastes so bad. The pork belly is so hard that it explodes. The waiter is very busy. Can the boss hire more people? We have to save this kind of money and make the customers wait for a long time. The beef nuggets section is empty. We didn’t refill it until we finished eating. The waiter insisted on adding us on WeChat. We were convinced and deleted it as soon as we left. I will never come here again.

Used to go to Haidilao and it was great the food used to be good the staff were amazing and it felt like a good value for money. After going yesterday I have to say I won't be returning. Staff have no idea what they're doing. I came at the time of my reservation and was told to go away for half an hour because they overbooked by 6 tables. Then when I came back the person at the reception couldn't get words out and still couldn't get me a table. After few more minutes I got a table and spent 10-15 more minutes before I was able to order. I chose the all you can eat option because it seemed like a good deal and they mention that for every 100g of food you didn't finish they'll charge you £10 which is just insane. At the end of the meal (after being chased multiple times even though the restaurant was getting quiet) I had some things left in the hot pot and the staff have no understanding that food absorbs water so they will take the wet food and put it on a scale... For example 2 soy rolls dry weigh about 8g and after being in the water 2 went up to 28g staff don't care and will charge you for every drop off water. Restaurant went from being famous for great customer service to trying to milk you from every penny

Qi is a very sweet and welcoming little girl. She provided us perfect service last night. It was the first time my English colleagues tried hotpot, and Qi is one of the reasons why they had a wonderful first impression of Chinese hotpot.

Great place to go out to for dinner, and make a reservation before hand they offer goodies if you do. Do keep in mind Parking is quite expensive in Bullring around 6 quid for 2 hours, look for parking spots short walks away some are 4 quid for the day if you're in for a longer visit to shops as well.

I wanted to share something that happened during my visit today. A while back, I was given a tomato soup base pack to take home after dining at Haidilao, which was a really nice surprise and left me with high expectations. So today, I asked if I could take some tomato soup home, but the staff firmly told me that they’d never heard of such a thing in their entire year working there. It felt a bit disheartening. Its like I’m making this up as she requests me to give her photo, but I really did get a soup pack before and why I had to take a photo of the soup? I’m just wondering if there’s been a change in policy or if it was a special case back then? Update: They deleted my comment on their social media :)

Terrible place to eat, hygiene is poor, staff are rude and the food is just not great at all. I would recommend you avoid this place as it really does live up to its 2 star hygiene rating. They also persuade people to fill out positive surveys to win prizes which is not ethical and can be misleading to all people that read the surveys. Terrible, don’t go here and save yourself time and money!

Today we have been to Haidilao Hotpot Birmingham and we just had a really wonderful dine in. First of all, the staffs are really friendly and welcoming and provided extraordinary service. And all the food we ordered were excellent and above our expectation. We will surely recommend Haidilao to everyone. Happy tummy😍😍

I feel terrible leaving a 2-star review, as the staff were lovely, incredibly friendly and helpful, but the food just made me feel sick and on the verge of throwing up. The meal cost £35 per head and I just didn't enjoy it, the eating experience is cramped and finicky so all in, I just didn't enjoy it. Again the staff were lovely, and the restaurant is lovely, immaculately clean with a nice atmosphere, I just really didn't like the food.

Iv just come on here to let the muslim community know that this place is not Halal. I was just about to go so thought id call and make sure and they confirmed that there meat chicken or lamb are not halal! Heads up my people. The reviews about it being halal are misinformed.

This place is exceptional service, food and overall restaurant. I would highly recommend. It is more expensive than other hotpot places but it is the definition of, "you get what you pay for".
