Hamptons Plaice in Peterborough

Specifically ordered before 5pm booking a 7pm delivery, food rocks up at 7.19. Order wasn’t even correct - very disappointing.

Chips horrendous, really hard, couldn’t eat them! Fish was over cooked but the sausage was brilliant

Food was alright but the melons need to learn how to read, ordered 2, 1.5 pepsi max bottles and got 1 bottle of 1.25pepsi max, minor inconvenience but happens far to often ordering from here. Don’t know how you can get it that wrong i would understand 1 bottle missing but to miss both and send the wrong size is just stupidity.

Received the wrong order, the food was cold and chips are stale. Received a lemonade instead of a milkshake and a curry sauce I didn’t order. I called and they refused to deliver the correct meal and offered for me to have the meal tomorrow, I said no as this meal was suppose to be for me to eat now.

sorry but that was the worst portion of fish and chips from this establishment I have had. The batter didn't seemed to have been cooked enough and it was soft and mushy.

the rockfish looked and smelled like something found floating in the pond. the batter was limp. everything was stuck to the paper and to top it off the food was cold.

the worst food I ever had. I ordered Rock salmon, It looked, smelt, and tasted disgusting, went straight in the bin,

It’s hard when you’re hungover to watch your food get further away from you as they are delivering to 2 addresses and I was second… a blast in the microwave and it was ok but the pukka pie was well overcooked and dry… before being reheated.

They put bacon in a burger that wasn’t asked for and salad in a kebab when asked for no salad

Third time we've ordered and always the same poor quality chips...scraps basically. Fish batter was soggy, so won't be using it again.

I have just got home to this battered sausage and chips the batter is soggy and is not edible at all as u can clearly see in these pictures. I rang to speak to a manager and there was not one and they had no emails or phone numbers they could give me. And have just told me to call tomorrow

Mushy peas were like slurry not your usual standard

Ordered fish n chips and battered sausage at the counter waited 15 mins so cooked fresh It was the worst bit of fish I've ever had the batter was so soggy no crisp at all it shouldn't of been served and same with the sausage batter was disgusting never going there again and my advice is anyone thinking of ordering don't bother!!! 10/01/2025

First time using both Hampton Plaice and Just Eat. Despite terrible traffic problems order arrived on time, quality was good, and the Just Eat app was easy to navigate.

Brilliant portions and a brilliant taste of fish and chips. 10/10

Just one remark, the bottle of Pepsi is advertised as 1.5ltr but it’s actually 1.25ltr needs rectified as trading standards would have a case. Other than that the food was hot, all the items were present and the delivery driver was very pleasant

Pizza squashed in one corner of the box and drink missing

Pizza is very good and average price but cod has too much breading the oil was not hot enough or fish was thrown into cold oil. Two large cods were very different from each other.

Disappointed with the service of this place as this is the 4th time that they've messed up my order. I paid for a large cod and the send me a small cod. This is becoming a regular thing to happen now.

the delivery driver was the loveliest person I've met in along time

All I order ia large Cod every single time. I ordered large Cod small chips and I'm absolutely certain somebody preparing my order had read it as small Cod and small chips. if that's a large Cod I'm Eddie Murphy

Worst place to get food and I thought I would give them their 10th chance yes not 2nd every time I have ordered something is wrong but wait… I called them to order and I said can I have a 1/4 cheese burger meal with…. Get cut out and the lady yes that’s fine … not waiting for me to even tell her what meal so waited 2 mins come back and said yeah would you like anything else… I said so what did I order and she said vegi burger 🤣 like darling let me finish telling y out what I want before you interrupt me half way through and you might actually know what I ordered. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVERY TIME. I can not stress enough how there is no way they are going to be open for much longer already have only 2.6 stars. Joke

I ordered large Cod & chips, a quarter chicken breast & a burger. The cod was perfectly cooked & delicious! The chips were just right, also nice & fresh. I asked for really juicy cooked chicken as I can't eat it dry/overcooked. It too, was perfectly cooked - fresh, v juicy & oh so tender. This is exemplary to other chippies who can't get it right! I've not eaten my half pounder beef burger with salad, but I know that too, will be spot on, cooked to perfection! I'll return, ty! 👌👨‍🍳

I’ve ordered this WITHOUT wrap or pitta bread and salad. Then I’ve got pitta bread with chicken inside and very little salad. Very disappointing with this. I expected a box with chicken and MORE salad.

Lovely piping hot food. Only down side was even tho order on the app for a certain time I had to wait a few minutes as they was busy but after eating the food I can see why it was busy and popular with the locals

chips were awful. they tasted like they had been cooked hours prior to delivery. they were dry and hard. Just really inedible. Will not go there again!

Order arrived but was missing items, when I tried to call the restaurant (multiple times) they answered and hung up! Couldn’t get through to chase them so had to go elsewhere to fulfil my order, waste of time!

We got the most pale, under cooked , greasy chips I’ve ever seen. I ate half a dozen and couldn’t stomach any more. The fish cake was bog standard and the battered sausage was the only redeeming item. If we hadn’t been in a rush to go out tonight I’d have taken them back to complain. I will NOT be going again.

I placed an order and received an order with very poor quality, I spent 3 days vomiting and shitting, taking several medications, I do not recommend you order food there.

The order has been claimed to be delivered. It was not and is incorrect. I was waiting outside ready to receive and no one delivered

talk about a chippy going down hill,chips were terrible and full of hard bits,burgers that normally come in rolls came without rolls and the ordered bread roll was dry and tough,the only saying grace was the saveloys..never will I order from this place again..total waste of money

The meal was awful the chips were so hard they would crack your teeth, went in the bin.

saveloy was tasty, kebab was nice although more onion than actual salad, chips on butty and kebab were all too hard. milkshakes both tasted synthetic so didnt really enjoy them, more cream than actual shake. Pineapple fritter tiniest bit oily but otherwise really tasty.

Disappointed this time, the chips really let it down, they were hard and didn’t taste good at all seemed as though these were old from being left, couldn’t eat them

This was the last chip shop i had to try in peterborough as i was dredding the reviews. I orderd cheesey chips halloumi fries and mushy peas … by the time i left the establishment and walked too my car (about 20 seconds) and tucked into them they were all cold and dry with the occasional luke warm one the cheese was identical to a cheese string . The halloumi was more a powdery crisp then cheese and after 2 bites i decided not to eat anymore dont even bother with the mushy peas as they were just off like they had put garden peas in i tub of warm water with green food dye … terible place too eat do not recommended stay well away far nicer places too eat chips in Peterborough

Seriously how can a chip shop get chips so wrong! Massively undercooked. The box was full of scraps rather than actual chips. The few chips that were in there were white, stale and horrible. I also ordered 10 chilli cheese nuggets and got 6 again how can you even mess that up? I worked at this very same chippy a few years back before the owner change and it’s clear to me that the chips have not been cooked long enough and you aren’t taking care of binning the scrappy chips.

Delicious food!! Nice & hot on arrival which was on time. Very few chippy's do Spam Fritters these days & they were yummy!! Nicely cooked chips & a tub of mushy peas that were thick & lovely too. Very good meal. Good portion sizes. Thank you. Will order again soon

used to be one of the best! the chips were my favourite chips, until whoever has taken over changed everything. its all nasty now, I heard theyre starting to make pizza too? stay away until they sell it again and someone gives it a new chance.
