Happy Valley in Basingstoke and Deane

Been coming here a while now but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be returning anymore. I’m convinced the chips in the evening are left over from when the shop is open at lunchtime. They’re definitely not cooked fresh. Always hard, dry and very dark in colour. The batter on the fish is soggy so also very disappointing. It’s a real shame as its the only proper fish & chip shop in Tadley and they could do really well if they up’d their game! A lot of the other reviews are similar so I hope they take note and will be happy to try again in the future if things change.

Had cod and chips, which was very greasy, but still tasty and good value.

Food was OK even though it was cooked fresh still Luke warm and we live 5 mins away. Not cheap

Nice fish & chips… I prefer lightly battered fish so always cooked to order. Well priced. Parking is usually easy.

Most food items were OK, large chip portions aren't big enough to share between 2. They forgot part of the order and the battered burgers (menu items) were raw in the middle. Not going back.

Great prices and good deals to be had.

The service isnt friendly im sorry to say but every time i go there the portions get smaller and smaller and they are still charging the same prices. The portions are ridiculously small. I will not be returning

I’ve been here a few times when they open , lunch time and evening each time they have given me reheated over cooked chips , bit worrying as lunch time chips were from the day before , I thought the first time it was a one off but it’s happened a few times since , the lady serving was nice thou.reheated chips are horrible, so won’t be going back .

First and last time to try this place. Very unfriendly staff, below average food, short changed at the till. Wouldn’t recommend.

Honestly awful. Probably the worst burger and chips I've ever eaten. Chips were obviously re cooked and greasy as hell. The burger was tiny and deep-fried. No salad option and didn't come with any sauce. I threw most of it away tbh

Mixed, wife's cod was fine, large cod was inedible (mushy fish and soggy batter), chips were hot but slightly under cooked. Room for improvement! Staff ever so slightly surly, but suspect thats because it was busy and they felt under pressure.

Sorry, but the food was terrible. The chips were like rubber and of the pie was like a hockey puck. Even more weird, The three ladies working there were really odd. When I walked in I felt like I just disturbed them from watching their favourite movie in their living room. No hello no goodbye no and no Smalltalk. What do you want and get out basically. I shall not return.

I'm sure they used to be a decent place to get some fish and chips. But unfortunately, I've noticed they've been serving rather soggy fish. Don't know about you but I prefer a nice crisp batter and fish which isn't complete mush. Rather disappointing to say the least. At least their chips are alright. Not amazing but a step up compared to the mushy, soggy and lacklustre battered fish.

Cash only. Sorry but right now that’s just not good enough.

Friendly staff great fish an chips

Worst place I've ever brought chips from. Paid £2.20 for small chips and could probably get a bigger portion from McDonalds.

A total waste of £11.20, chips are reheated, saveloy hard. AVOID

Chips are normally pretty good. 3 star as they don't take card. Come on move with the times! Who carries cash these days.

Very good good chips and lovely pea fritters

Very poor. Leathery chips, bland greasy fish and saveloy so tough it cracked when biting. Avoid like the plague. Scratch that, catch the black death....it'll be more pleasant.
