Called in here for evening meals yesterday. A bit disappointing if I'm honest, half the items were out of stock on the menu. Main meals came in a decent time but I didn't think the portion sizes were great although the food was good. Ordered desserts which never came after 20 minutes, after enquiring they said that 2 of the desserts weren't on the menu any more 🤷‍♂️ so they obviously they hadn't processed the original order! Won't be rushing back sadly, could be good but it currently isn't! By the way thanks for your reply, you can see that I did bring the issue up of the time waited for the out of stock desserts because I had a conversation with one of the staff about it so the issue was raised, however nothing was done about it apart from a token apology and having to reorder again so don't say the issue wasn't raised when it clearly was.

Small menu options but manages to satisfy all family

Booked here with manager who seemed very nice.Took booking and friendly beyond my expectations even asked where we would like to sit.On the night gave us a completely different table than originally stated and we ate in what can be described as a sports bar area.Meal booked was ok as far as I was concerned but my colleague was given custard instead of brandy sauce and when mentioned it was told it’s my fault.Clearly stated on their own menu brandy sauce did not even mention a custard option. It was the my fault I can’t order that has upset me .Food was passable but not exciting.However the drinks were good although same colleague didn’t get what she wanted.

Not been for a long time, only had a pint, good atmosphere, food looked nice though, maybe next time 😋

Staff are nice but the food is absolutely dreadful. Avoid the roast dinner at all costs. Carrots smelt off and were black and hard , cutting the potatoes was like trying to cut a pebble. Staff don’t check on you after your meal has arrived though. I tried calling someone over but to no avail. Probably the worst roast dinner I've ever had will not be returning.

Went for tea, myself and daughter ordered lasagna and was very, very Disappointing. It was a small amount, it was dry and over cooked. The lettuce on the salad was brown and unappetising.

Had one of the new challenges great value for money and nice food TIP get the glass of milk as an extra brought tears to our eyes🔥 service was also top notch!

Ordered 2roast dinners it came with beef on the bone very fatty roast potatoes burnt veg under cooked Yorkshire pudding hard and dessert know better fudge brownie came with ice cream melted not avery nice experience will not be returning

Just popped in for our lunch and spent a very pleasant afternoon. The staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and well worth the money. Will definitely be back

Popped in today as a visitor for a drink with my wife and to watch the match...very friendly local people.. decided to eat there and had the best pie and mash I've ever had..great service..would definitely go back...great music too ! Proper pub.

Child's pasta meal was sent back under cooked and very hard . Child's sausage meal looked ok but when they were turned over it revealed they were burnt black I cut the burnt side off for the child my meal of halloumi flatbread the flat bread was burnt black on the outside about an inch around the other two meals were okish but nothing to recommend here we will not be going back there unless it improves in quality .

Staff were friendly but food was awful steak was super tough bought 3 meals and all of us could only stomach the chips sausages and wings were really slimey and mac an cheese was horrible

Visited the pub with my daughter. The staff couldn't do enough for me and helped me in and out of the pub. I will be returning in the future. Thank you for a great experience.

Called last week with my husband and daughter for our tea, 3 young women on shift. Dark haired girl serving food was absolutely fantastic, I asked her name but can't recall but I know it started with a L, she couldn't do enough for us!!, the young blonde girl behind the bar was the complete opposite! So rude and abrupt, never felt so disrespected or patronised in my life! Her attitude was awful, she also slagged off every person who left the pub one at a time! Couldn't enjoy our food due to this fact so definitely won't be visiting again unfortunately!!

Update 30/07/24: A disappointing visit today, waited ~40 minutes for food (I had to ask if we'd been forgotten about), a simple "ultimate sharing combo" - "everything in the deep fryer" except for two 1.5" corn on the cobs - which were lukewarm on the outside and stone cold when you bit into the corn to remove it from the core. Garlic bread had been recalled, so it was replaced with chips (not an issue). The serving tray was lined with greaseproof paper, just as well considering how much oil was pooled under the chicken wings, which was quite off-putting. --- Original post: I hadn't been here for about 20 years for no particular reason. Skip this ramble for the actual review. A relative lives in the area, and usually frequents another local establishment at the end of Wilson Road with someone else. We ate there with the relative a month or so ago, and it was... maybe it's my age, but "school dinner" sounds about right for the experience... Back to the Hare And Hounds review - great value and good quality food, friendly service, clean environment, and a definite recommendation over the other 'local', there's no comparison ! The relative will definitely be getting pointed in the right direction for their weekly pub lunch next week.

My friends and I visited the Hare and Hounds earlier this month for lunch. There were 13 of us in total! The staff were very friendly, welcoming and polite at all times. We all ordered different meals and there were no issues with any of them plus everything arrived together which was no easy task with the amount of food we ordered!! Would definitely recommend.

Called in with a group of friends for a few drinks and ended up taking advantage of the 2 for 1 offer on the all American chicken burgers. We both thought they where amazing and great value for money. Jo & her staff looked after us. Great pub will definitely be going back,

Waited a truly stupid amount of time for our food and when it came out it was over cooked.

Vile disgusting, the smell from the plate was foul, obviously meat was on the turn Told the waitress, no apology, just said I’ll tell the chef and didn’t return to update on what the chef said Will not be returning ever and will be speaking to the environment health Hazard food with no recognition whatsoever

Lovely pub, nice to see the hare & hounds make over freshly painted, looking very nice. Good atmosphere, nice food, lots tv for the sports. Had lovely service from Julie & Demi. Very professional and helpful. Served with lots of smiles. Will defo be back

EDIT: Terrible service today, when asked to speak with the Manager Joanne. She had even more of an attitude than the other staff member. Then decided to slag us off to other customers. In return to the below comment. Joanne you know your comments are absolute lies. Very unprofessional of you.

I took a friend out for tea and decided to go here. It had been a long time since I'd last eaten there so I took the risk. Little did I realise the football was on and the place was busy. Managed to get a table and ordered food. Only one item wasn't available but everything else was. Very good service and very attentive staff. Definitely going again ( not when the football is on though haha )

Went for Christmas Dinner 20 family members spent 1000 on food without our drinks absolutely disgusting booked in for 2 clock still waiting for main course at 4.30 had word with management wasn't interested never go there again

The staff are fab in the Hare and Hounds we go quite often with rhe people we support and the staff are always very patient with our group. I find there is very little option for vegetarians

Been a few times for the 2 mains for £11.49 and they are decent meals. Worth it if your on a budget and fancy a meal cooked for you.Decent pint of San Miguel and morreti nice and cold. Seats and play area outside when it's sunny. Been many times since my original review and again you can't go wrong for 2 meals all day weekdays.

Came in for lunch today whilst traveling back to the Midlands. Food was fantastic. Good size, really tasty and great choice. Staff were lovely even though I think they struggled with our strong Dudley accents!!

Came for a meal for my boys 8th birthday, staff especially Julie was amazing nothing was too much trouble for her and she made us feel really welcome. Food was lovely too. Thank you

We went there with our 2 boys for tea and the manager on shift told us to order a more expensive dish for my child who is not vegetarian and wanted sausage and chips. When food came out the plates were hot and just thrown infront of my 2 kids (ages 3 & 4) and when I went to the bar to get another drink the manager that wasn't helpful earlier was just sat there whilst still on shift (cos she got back up and started serving people 10 minutes later) was sat talking away drinking a pint of alcohol. Absolutely disgusting. Would have got 0* rating but 1 was the lowest I could go. Especially for a ment to be family restaurant and pub.

Visited Thursday lunch time. Food lovely, good portion size and nice and hot - some really good deals on the menu too! Julie (bar staff) was friendly, chatty and helpful - nothing was too much trouble - I did notice she went out of her way to help customers who needed assistance👍. Will definatley visit again.

We came in to the Hare and Hounds after the annual Christmas tractor run. The world cup was also on so the pub was very busy but we had managed to get parked and seated fairly easily as 4 adults and 2 children. I originally wanted to order on the app but this was too tricky for adding requests on food and swapping the chips out for salad etc so went to the bar to order which worked out better as I was desperate to try the Funfair Sharer and it was showing out of stock on the app. Jo kindly checked with the kitchen and confirmed it was available. There were a good mix of drinks and festive specials. We ordered the sharer plus 2 children's meals, a steak, a chicken and beef burger. The burgers and kids meals were quite overcooked but feedback from everyone was good. My husband and I shared the funfair. This was definitely a me type meal and not what he would have chosen so it would be nice if you could order it as a single portion. The meal consists of 2 chicken burgers with candy floss, boneless sour cherry cola glazed chicken wings on a bed of popcorn, a pile of chips. Onion rings. A pot of sour cherry cola dip, a dip dab sherbet and 2 cream filled doughnuts with chocolate sauce. As someone who is very into sweet and savoury mixed dishes this was my ultimate meal but it's definitely not for everyone. A brilliant price at £16.49 in my opinion! Throughout the the meal Jo was attentive and very friendly and always checked we had what we needed and we were enjoying our food. Every pub needs a Jo she is a breath of fresh air.

Very poor, never had such bad mashed potatoes, and the steak and ale pie was obviously warmed up. Very disappointed

My local have pub amazing atmosphere Julie is such a lovely host and really goes above and beyond what’s expected to make sure you are happy and comfortable so good with children and such a pleasure to be around bring all my family in as she is so lovely and welcoming. My first ever review as I feel she really needs the recognition on what an amazing job she does well done hare and hounds

Nice staff.good pint,but pub in general needs a complete refurbishment,its starting to look dirty and neglected.

I got a mixed grill it came with no sausage on union ring and a over cooked miniature steak plus the place was minging needed a good clean.
