Harvester Dog Redditch in Stratford-on-Avon

Went there on a vibrant Saturday night as to be expected. Staff were fantastic even though they we're rushed off their feet. Food was lovely, kids ate all of it. Jessica ( one of the waitresses) was lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Cheers

Brilliant food and amazing staff. Nothing was too much trouble and the warm and friendly atmosphere was great. Best steak I've had in a long time!! *** EDIT - no idea on the names of the staff but a wonderful lady with red hair greeted us and kept popping by to check on us, a young girl also served us and the bar staff were male and such a giggle. All were a credit to the company!

Was greeted by a lovely lady that showed us to a table following my request. Our sever, Anna was very thorough and very friendly. The only thing to cause disappointment was the salad cart. Poorly replenished, resulting in bringing it to a staff members attention in the first occasion and having to wait around on the second. Inconvenient more so with children. As I’m catering for my than my needs.

Visited here last Friday evening with my partner. Very warm welcome, food and cocktails/beer were amazing. Salad bar was full and delicious (gotta love a good salad bar). The staff were fantastic. I went to the bar to arrange some drinks before we sat down and the bar staff were amazing with great attitudes and a great laugh. Our waitring staff, Lisa (with the red funky hair) never stopped smiling, quite infectious really, she was so accommodating, as my partner is a coeliac, it's sometimes difficult to find places so accommodating, but these guys have got their allergen knowledge down to a tee. 5 star eatery and 10 star team, great job Lisa and team 👏 🙌 👍

On Friday went for a meal using the 50% off and was brilliant and had Harriet as my waitress and was very helpful and food was great I’m tempted to come back

Spare ribs burnt on my meal scampi on my wife's meal under cooked all food was very basic no finesse but quite expensive would not go back there and would not recommend we were a party of 5 waste of time complaining very dissatisfied

Food came out luke warm and the eggs were snottier than a toddler. They did offer to reheat the food but should never be served at that temperature. They run out of rotisserie chicken and replaced half a rotisserie chicken with a chicken breast.

The girl who served us was very polite however, other staff walked past without saying a word whilst we stood waiting to be seated. There seemed to be a shortage of staff behind the bar as I had to wait 30 mins for my beer after asking 3 times. There was no Red Devil sauce for my salad which is one of the main reasons I visit. Standard chips were very basic, and I would be extremely disappointed with the food overall if I hadn’t used a 50% off mains voucher.

Waited over an hour for our main meals and they came out stone cold. DO NOT GO

Enjoyed a quality experience with excellent food, great portions and a perfectly cooked steak. Our waitress, Jess, was exceptional and is an asset to the service team and Harvester. The restaurant facilities were clean, tidy and spacious, providing a great atmosphere. I am looking forward to returning very soon.

Reasonable quiet Wednesday night, A good ten mins wait to be greeted by our server no issue and she said sorry for the delay 👍 The food was lush, perfectly cooked popping hot and had great presentation Special mention to Zoe the lady looking after us, she was polite, friendly and professional, I was little cheeky with her and responded back with some bantor all good 😃, she obviously enjoyed her job and it showed, she couldn't have been more helpful please pass on my thanks 100% happy with food and service definitely be back Well done the team at The Dog

Food very good service good did ask for a quiet table away from kids didn't get it! Had a screaming child on table next to us! Not the best when you want to have a nice quiet meal and a chat with friends!

Food was ok, but expensive for what it is. Also had a pudding but still left feeling hungry. Drinks are more expensive than my local pub. There was a singer on and he was good and also improved the atmosphere

I haven’t been to ‘The Dog’ in a long, long time and was pleasantly surprised with the decor, layout and seating arrangements. There was plenty of choice on the menu (as well as the new festive one) and my wife and I enjoyed both the salad bar and our dinners. Our waitress, Tonii was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her. What with the pleasant atmosphere, it was an all round enjoyable visit and one I’d like to experience again.

Came in for a birthday celebration as a party of 10. The food was fantastic and despite being a busy Friday night, very prompt. We were also so fortunate to have Dan as our server. He went above and beyond for us and made the evening run smoothly. He is a real credit to the establishment and I fully recommend everyone go here for any family get togethers or celebrations.

Great meal. Best steak I’ve had for a long time. Tonii and Harriet served us and they were both happy and always there when you needed them, nothing was too much trouble for them. It’s nice when young people can engage with customers like that.

1 star is too high for this place, dining area was cold, ordered triple combo chicken was overcooked and tough, then ordered ice-cream sundae, size was half the size on previous visits, also used this place , will never visit again, bill was 50 complete waste of money

We booked a table for 9 on 09/11/24 at The Dog Harvester Redditch to celebrate my son’s 18th birthday (4 days prior to the meal) waitress Imogen was rude and abruptly challenged my sons age and despite having a digital copy to prove his age she refused to accept this, the manageress also refused to accept this (even though In the UK, 16 and 17-year-olds can drink alcohol in a pub if they are accompanied by an adult and are having a meal according to GOV website) this upset the whole party, I had to drive a round trip back home to collect his ID. The whole evening was a disaster. The waitress Imogen was more interested in chatting to her fellow colleagues than serving us, service was slow and poor, it seemed to take ages to receive our drinks and food if the pub was busy I could understand but it was fairly quiet at the time, it not the service I expected to receive from the Harvester as other Harvesters service is far better, the only thing going for The Dog is the location for the party. Evening destroyed well done The Dog, not sure we shall use this Harvester in the future.

Waiter was really good, young lady and Hubert really looked after us all.

This has become our regular Sunday midday feeding place.

Never been here before we had a day out and on the way back we decided to Pop in and have a meal,we both had the steak and words can not describe how great it was cooked to prevention,the salad bar was brilliant and the little rolls most enjoyable.The staff were brilliant nothing was to much trouble I would highly recommend this restaurant the food and atmosphere was great, even told my friends about it and there willing to drive quite far to it,the food speaks for itself, will be back again very soon very happy.😀 First time we came really pleased came in 7th November for lunch totally different the chap on the front not very friendly the one girl was really nice that served us the other girl was mixing up the order,my other half had the steak which is not cheap asked for it medium rare it came blue and full of fat my meal was lovely except the peas were terrible left those they definitely were not garden peas,must have a different chef on a lunch time,the salad bar is brilliant bring back the lady that was on the front she was so friendly and nice felt a bit let down this time.

My family and I dined at Redditch Harvestor for the first time. The environment is very good and there is enough parking space. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great and the waiters are very polite. The food was of consistent quality and we enjoyed our meal. The restroom is clean and has no smell. There are ramps for getting up and down, making it convenient for families with wheelchairs and strollers. Worth recommending. Re: I don't know the name of that waitress. She is wearing glasses, short hair. She seems quite busy on that night but still providing very good service to us.

We ate here last night. 4 of our 6 meals were inedible. Overcooked,burnt & cold. Even the salad bar was disappointing,very sparse. Why would an establishment serve such awful food. We were offered replacement meals but were put off by what we were served 1st time. Will not be returning & will tell my friends & family to stay well clear too.

Very lovely staff lost a star on staff not as they where not deserving of 5 but the company expected 7 staff to run the whole place so it was a bit slow at times. But they are all very lovely

I've read some of the reviews on here, and I can only surmise that some were written on bad days? 🤷‍♂️ went here with a group of six and enjoyed it. In the land of multiple garden centres and Studley was regarded as 'posh' when I grew up in the 80s. Lots of parking and into a large, clean, and comfortable area. Genuinely happy, friendly service and good attention to detail. We all enjoyed our food, the only minus being that a baked potato was cold but this was quickly remedied by the lovely staff. No real complaints from us which and I'd rather come here then a Beefeater

Busy. But no delay getting food. A young lad, waiter was shadowing our waiter, a lady only a few years older. Got a cosy table with good lighting. Why have we left it so long to return to this Dog, Harvester. My husband and I had A mixed grill. Meat cooked to perfection. On next table, group, ordered. We were given dish. Wondered what for. Regulars like next table went over to bar of salad with their dish. Used as starter. We could not have eaten starter as full with mixed grill. Also next table kept getting up and refilling glass with cola, looked like. They seemed to have light main meal. So slimming. Leaving we seen artic lights in sky.

We stopped for a meal on Sunday afternoon and the place was busy but they found us a table for 5 without issue and service was prompt and friendly, Tonii looked after us well with no request being too much. The atmosphere was good in there and the food was great, portion sizes although smaller than before were adequate. Overall price worked out to be around £20 per head for mains and soft drinks for 4 adults and one child’s order. We will return again 👍🏼

Great atmosphere, wonderful service and the staff are very accommodating and helpful. Good selection of food, particularly nice chicken dishes and steaks. Salad bar is always well stocked with some good classics such as potato salad, pasta, coleslaw, etc... Large selection of sauces and fresh bread too.

We have always enjoyed coming here but there were a few aspects that disappointed us. My partner ordered the dirty bird burger, it had a teaspoon worth of sauce on the top bun under tomato and 2 bits of salad. As for myself I had the triple combo, the southern fried and rotisserie chicken were okay, but the grilled chicken was so rubbery or at least a texture I can't describe. Ordinarily the food is really nice, this particular time not so much. I have to shout out to Bernita, she is a very good host and cares for the improvements of the establishment and the feelings of customers. She noticed that the food wasn't great for us, even though politely I said, no it's okay at first as I'm usually quite reserved when it comes to complaining. Please ensure she gets a big thankyou, she's excellent and we will return again with I hope a better experience.

Went for dinner with my partner yesterday at the dog, we tried the new menu which definitely didn’t disappoint. Food was delicious and we had a lovely server Kaci. She went above and beyond to make our experience very enjoyable and feel very taken care of even though it was very busy.

This has to have been the worst restaurant/pub visit in living memory. Right from the start, to the moment we left, this was an awful experience. I'll leave the cherry on top until the end. After reserving a table online, we got to the Dog about 5 minutes before the reservation time. There was a family in front of us and it appeared there was some confusion with their table. After patiently waiting, they were eventually seated by the gentleman who was on front-of-house. On his return, the phone rang and he proceeded to answer the phone. Bear in mind, we have already gotten out of our house and to the restaurant, we are effectively paying customers. But no, someone on the phone, who is probably sat in their house, not a paying customer takes priority. Once the phone call has ended, we were asked if we had booked a table. I said yes, gave my surname. I was asked if I was using any promotions, I replied "Yes, Blue Light card." The gentleman rolled his eyes as he pressed a button on his screen, then grabbed the menus. We were sat down, instantly asked if we wanted any drinks, which is nice, but we've not even looked at the drinks menu. We politely declined and asked if we could have a moment. We ordered drinks when ordering our food. Needless to say, things don't get any better from here. After enquiring whether we could have cheese on the children’s beef burger, we were advised that yes “it’s possible, it’s 50p”. We continued with our order. I chose the BBQ beef burger and my wife went with the half roast chicken. No pulled pork so I couldn’t have the BBQ Beef Burger. I went for a dirty one instead. Our waitress returned with the salad bowls that were so hot, the kids had to wait for them to cool down before carrying them. Once my wife and I had finished our salad, the drinks finally turned up. Then, the food. All was well, except someone in the kitchen doesn’t know that half a chicken, is 50% of a chicken. No thigh. What turned up was the chicken breast and a dried out drumstick, not attached. We called the waitress to ask where the thigh was, to which she went and got another “half”. What turned up looked a lot better, but still no thigh. We asked to speak to the duty manager who turned up to explain that due to the ‘ribs’, “the thigh doesn’t come with half a chicken.” Having been to the Dog half a dozen times previously, all my wife ever orders is the half a chicken. Oh dear. Ribs, indeed. After some toing and froing, the duty manager finally confirmed that the ‘apprentice’ in the kitchen would have thrown the thigh away. At this point, we wanted to leave. The two boys, however, happily tucking into their food! After food was finished, a waitress came to start clearing the table and finished with half a job. We then reminded the original waitress that we would like the desserts for the boys. Well, The Sundae Bests (ice cream cones) turned up in hot bowls. The ice cream had practically melted by the time it was served. Ice cream eaten, and another long wait for a waitress to bring our bill. That 50p cheese? £1. That cherry? Bill was paid and as we got to the exit, there was a lady, sat at a table by the entrance, drinking a tea or coffee. As I walked out, I said to my wife “Do you want to know what makes it worse? That’s the Landlady. Sat doing F-all whilst her pub and her staff is chaotic!” Couldn’t be certain, but as it was a Lenovo thinkpad, issued to all good M&B pubs, and their managers tend to think that having more responsibilities means doing less work, it was a good chance she was the landlady. No one else would be sat working on their laptop in a pub at 8pm, drinking tea/coffee unless it was their pub they were working in. 2 hours we were there. Only because of how chaotic this place was. The waitresses were golden. As soon as you get to management, it took the wrong turn.Used to like going to the Dog, not our nearest Harvester, but worth the journey. Not anymore.
