Nice restaurant, calm atmosphere, service is fine, a little slow as the evening went on, lovely menu selection

Came here on Xmas eve to have a meal we where a family of 15, we had booked this at least a week ahead, on arrival we were told table would be ready in 10 minutes, manager Becky was rude to one of our family members at the bar, all he said was have a smile it’s Christmas, her reply was don’t speak to me like that!!, not sure what her problem was, maybe she is not happy in her role. 30 minutes later still no table, on speaking with the manager Becky again she was very rude and said we had a right to go somewhere else, what sort of manager is that who will turn away 15 people, finally our table was ready on entering upstairs we were shocked that there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, the restaurant staff were very pleasant, we started to order our food and was told a few of the meals were off the menu, I am sure we should have been told that on being seated, due to 2 people only eating fish &chips which was off we decided to leave, we have visited this restaurant many times before but never have we had such terrible service and been spoken to by such a terrible manager, this experience really upset the whole family, not sure this is somewhere we will attend again soon/ not sure making the complaint helped, as we have not heard anything back from this complaint raised You have not sent a response to my complaint, also there is not 2 sides to this story only 1 the rudeness of your staff is not acceptable, this response seems to be have been written by the manager who the complaint is about, I will ask if you could give me a number to your head office ?

I'm used to Italian restaurants and pubs, with table service and quality food. I will never get used to English mediocrity. However it was an original Christmas Eve lunch.

We had a wonderful Christmas day dinner. The food was good and the staff were pleasant and only too willing to get you what you wanted. I was very happy with the meal I received as was my husband. I would recommend it to anyone. It is a three course meal with a variety of starters, main and sweet. There is a vegetarian option.

A lovely lunch at the Katarina today. Food was absolutely delicious and very good value. We were served by Cassie who was very attentive and an all round lovely person. There are a number of restaurants on Brighton Marina but we have always found the Katarina to have a great choice of food options and the staff are always very welcoming.

Saturday evening before Christmas and the place looked nearly empty, almost abandoned. My wife and I stood at the “please wait here to be seated” sign for 5 minutes and were completely ignored. Eventually we caught the eye of a young guy cleaning nearby tables who grunted that he’d go and fetch someone. He disappeared and never came back so after another couple of minutes so did we.

Best value for money. It's a delicious restaurant. Free salad bar too. I'm satisfied. I had a delicious meal. Highly recommended

Came here for a birthday meal with the in-laws. Chose this restaurant as the close parking made it very easy with the Nan in law to walk a short distance to the restaurant. We had a lovely time, the atmosphere was nice and bustling, the food and drinks were reasonably priced and good quality and we received excellent service, shout out to Cassie! Will definitely come back.

Had a wonderful meal, with my daughter. Cassie who served us, was warm, tentative and pleasure to chat to. Even when the restaurant became very busy with larger parties to see to, she didn’t forget about us.

Pre booked table for 9 people with Festive menu for a family pre Christmas lunch.Advised at time of booking, one person has mobility issues. Arrived at venue, firstly on entrance the place didn't smell very nice. Then told table would be upstairs. I asked if there was a lift and was told it is out of order and had been for sometime. I explained my sister would not be able to climb the stairs. Was advised we could have any table downstairs but we would need to order drinks and food at the bar, no table service. Barman quipped, "if I am around that is". We sat at a table, the place was empty, no atmosphere, no place settings. Ordered a few drinks at the bar. 10minutes later, I went to the bar to order other drinks and waited and had to call out to the Barman to serve me. He said "give me two minutes" while he finished putting bottles on shelves. When he took the order, I asked if the place was busy and he said "not really, a few odd bookings", I said it would have been good if I had been advised that the lift was broken. He ignored me, no apologies. Eventually we ordered our meal selections. Starters and main meals delivered and food was quite nice. Ordered another few drinks, again had to find someone to serve us. After two courses, puddings didn't arrive. Went upstairs to find someone. A female worker came downstairs to take order, we said we had already ordered. She looked unsure and a bit put out. We ordered coffees. Eventually, we wanted the bill and a key for the disabled toilet. . No one around so I went upstairs again and called for someone. The original Barman appeared and came downstairs. It appeared only two staff on?? The food was quite nice but this experience was not what we had expected. The staff offered no apologies and seemed to not really care.

As a national brand that's been around for years, you know pretty much in advance how this is going to go. Tuesday lunchtime is probably the quietest service session of the whole Hospitality week. The Katerina seem to have taken this to mean that if supermarkets make you scan your own shopping and McDonald's can replace teenagers with touchscreens, then why not get in on the act too? Don't 'wait here to be seated', no one comes to do so so a few minutes later grab a menu, choose any empty table (only 2 tables of 2 were occupied, then we made it 3), peruse menu, scan QR code and table number, order food, accept side bowl for gratis trip to the salad bar, circle the lacklstre, most basic salad counter, order drinks, confirm agreement for marketing emails, acknowledge and accept already included service charge, decline additional percentage for extra gratuity, pay for order, roll eyes at the estate agent somewhere behind you who thinks back in her day, underage Britsh teenage girls taking summer jobs on tropical islands owned by this fixer to the elite or that one, used to be a bit more grateful for the opportunity - as was her sister to Mohammed Al-Fayed apparently is still rough as arseholes...) 'Special Feature'of unlimited salad bowls from the extremely sad and underwhelming Salad Cart. Boring BBQ Chicken Melt for Madame, big portion of scampi (chips and mushy peas) for me. First interaction of the day with an actual staff member as they delivered our meals. Eat. Leave.

Had xmas dinner turkey not recommended, only came out warm turkey tasted watery as though it was frozen

Took my grandchildren today for breakfast with Santa! I can’t express how disappointed I was with the experience, Santa spoke to them for no longer than a minute absolutely had no enthusiasm nothing magical about it, it was like he didn’t want to be there made no eye contact with the children very very disappointed with it! Harvester do better this is a magical time of year especially for 5yr old children!

Dark and dreary Food was good Starter of breaded mushrooms was bland and full of grease

Awful servers apart from one lovely lady! Food orders wrong and our heads were bitten off if we dared to challenge mistakes with the food. Waited 20 mins to get the wrong pudding list waited another 20 mins to actually order a pudding after finding our own correct menus. Salad bar full of fruit flies, brown/black cabbage in the coleslaw, slimy cucumber and the bread rolls should be registered on the deadly weapon list they were so solid!!

Didn’t catch the AM’s name but he was so kind, friendly and polite. the food was also lovely - salad bar well stocked!! drinks were good as well. my starters (chicken fries and wings) were delish. keep up the good work and good vibes guys

Tables everywhere needing to be cleared, the bar had around 40 glasses waiting to be put in the washer. Waited 10 mins to be recognised to be seated. Our server took the orders and gave us red hot salad bowls, 8 salad tubs were empty and my partner had to go to the kitchen area to ask if they were filling up? No bread rolls available, bacon bits etc were empty, waited an extra 10 mins for this to all be refilled. Food was hot, I had original combo, ribs were dry and hard. My partner had the triple sausage dish, it was so spicy he couldn’t eat it! Our server didn’t once ask if everything was ok. We decided not to stay for dessert as we just wanted out of there. Thank goodness for the 40% voucher as I’d have been fuming at paying those prices for such an awful experience. Usually go to the Brittania in Lancing .. you’d think you were in a totally different restaurant, exquisite compared to the Katarina!

Came in for light lunch, 2 courses, very filling, lovely service from Luisa, very friendly, the upstairs was very empty, that’s the only reason I put 3 stars for atmosphere.

Honestly one of the best places to get food. Service is VERY QUICK, and you can also get unlimited FREE salad. Aswell as the option for unlimited Pepsi (and other soft drink) refills with multiple flavours avaliable. Food is delicious, and the staff are friendly. Cannot recommend enough!

We had a fantastic evening. And a special thanks to Anna for organising it. I know you won't all have an Anna in your group, but we do and she's amazing.

Its not often I give one star but this was exceptionally bad. Why can’t these younger waiters smile today? Is it a forgotten thing to be friendly and helpful, not just knowledgeable? The restaurant was cold. Salad bar very mediocre. Prices above average for very basic food. So, one example, my friend went for the sirloin steak. £22 isn’t bad, IF its quality! Presentation of steak with chips, one medium flat mushroom with about ten peas hidden beneath was mediocre. Nevertheless, a steak knife could not cut through the gristle and fat of this meat. We returned it. The whole plate. 30 minutes later, the waiter appears after the rest of us have finished our below average meals and puts a saucer with another so called sirloin steak before my friend. No chips, no mushrooms, no peas, just the steak on a plate! Silence all around as we all looked at each other as the waiter walked off. The steak was as bad as the first, as my friend insisted on trying. I took the plate and tried to politely explain everything that was wrong to the staff about our whole experience. NO apologies, just blaming one another. I don’t usually say never again, but, never again!!!! Value for money 2/5 Customer service 2/5 Food 1/5 Cleanliness 4/5 Atmosphere 2/5 Recommend? NO!

Food cold grilled chicken full of pepper not mention on menu salad bar ok

I give zero stars to the restaurant the harvester in Brighton Marina when I first walked in they told me there’s no tables upstairs they put me downstairs. I didn’t mind the lady. She said she’s a manager since I’ve been here. She was that rude to me and my family, people behind me came in and my food was ordered about half an hour and when they came in they got her food before me when I asked how long my food was gonna be. They were being even ruder and the new guy that came in that works here was even ruder to me . It was my birthday. I felt like crying they were people sitting next to me and they told me their food is the same because my food came out disgusting I got a roast dinner and they came out with watery gravy and a small tub. How could you put that on a roast dinner , hardly no gravy the people beside me was complaining and saying their steak was very bad. The mushy peas smell like weed and I’m not the only person who saying this the people sitting next to me said the same had a very bad experience and I always go to the harvester Marina I feel like crying for what happened to me.

It takes 2 hours till food is coming, its really bad experience and they are so cool and they dont care about you at all. When we said we made order from 1 hour they said we are busy and we cant do anything. I do not recommend it at all.

I haven't been to a Harvester for a long time. We were going to the cinema at Brighton Marina and it was conveniently close. I was genuinely surprised by the experience. The staff were all absolutely lovely and really friendly, the salad bar was full, inviting and tasted very fresh. The mains came out very quickly and were cooked to perfection, everything was served hot and tasted absolutely delicious! A testament to the Chef! Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Due to food allergies, I wondered what I could have. Brilliant waitress sorted everything fresh, so no problems. It's definitely worth going back

Got 3x things wrong with my order, paid £15 for a pasta dish that had 8 pieces of pasta (7.5 if you count the split one I guess) smelt like a charity shop and had staff the clearly didn’t want to be there, despite there best efforts, the kitchen delivered a poor range of food that really let us down, and the venue did smell.

I didn't have time to try the food, so I left after waiting 20 minutes for service I will add that there were not many people, which could be the reason for a longer wait for service Service not interested in customers

Very disappointing experience this evening. Nobody at entrance, so sat myself. Could hear loud laughing from the waitress upstairs, messing about with the chefs and slagging off customers, witnessed her bad mouthing a customer on the phone. Whilst 10 customers downstairs came in and left as were ignored. I was served by a fantastic gentleman here only two weeks ago. It's a shame someone like this is losing the restaurant business. Food was good though!

Always have lovely food and great service at the katamarina. Edyta is a superstar and very helpful. The managers on the door are very welcoming amd accommodating.

The place was lovely we were seated straight away and the server was really nice they salad bar was as good as always and the food was quick hot and was amazing and well priced to. Meet one of the chefs Amy and she was lovely to talk to and was helpful when finding everything we need. The toilet were clean and well stock as well overall an great experience and I will be back.

The waitress Ella went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. What a kind friendly asset to have to the team. Also the Tacos were delicious! - Nigel

Food ok but too many products frozen foods salad bar uninspiring

Day trip to Brighton from the north Kent coast is always a great day. The Mrs knows i love a cheeky Harvester. Been to this one a few times. We look past the dirty walls because you know what you’re gonna get. So this trip was looking great until our food took over 35mins to arrive, when I got up to ask I couldn’t find her (she was on a break) the lady said she would be right back. As soon as I sat down our food was bought over with a “good timing” It looked great as you can see in the photos. Sadly it was cold. Every element of the plate. When I bought this up the manager came over. Apologetic enough but I got the feeling he knew the food was sitting on the pass (our waitress was in a break) So not in the mood to wait we asked for the Bill so we could leave. He waived the bill for salad and Pepsi.

Staff are lovely. Can't fault them. Food not so much. You're paying an awful lot for a main just to get a salad bowl. And the mains are a bit meh.

Serious supplier issues. Limited menu and salad bar. Wife's chicken looked like an old bit of jelly. We've been here before and it was better, much better. Service was polite and cheerful. Seems like the staff are being let down by their management.

Our waitress was AMAZING! She was a blonde, Polish lady and the service was really top class. The meal was nice but not amazing. As usual, the salad bar was great but the nachos were very poor. I was expecting some lovely melted cheese but it was a small bowl with cold tortilla chips and a small dribble of squeezy cheese sauce and a few other toppings. I think for the price, this wasn't really great and i didn't really enjoy. The rest of the meal was nice though. Chips were great and chicken was also nice. We will be back as we had a lovely evening, I just wont be ordering the nachos. Thanks.

Greeted by Lee who took us to our table full of smiles. Edyta took our order(again full of smiles) & friendly. Salad bar was full & fresh & meal took the perfect amount of time to arrive after we'd eaten our salad. Gavin & Scott were chefs on duty(I asked) as the steaks were cooked perfectly. The whole presentation was excellent & nice hot food! Overall this was a value for money excellent meal. Air con is a bit chilly in certain areas but we asked for a warm corner on arrival & it was the warmest area in the restaurant upstairs. The staff are all so professional & attentive...its a pity the harvester on brighton seafront is not like this one..will def return & highly recommend.

We had a lovely waitress named Sharon. It looked as if she was on her own for most of the time we were there. She was very efficient and friendly. Sharon provided us with quick service and made sure everything was ok with our food. Thanks Sharon for making our meal nice for my partner’s birthday.

The food was great and well priced for 4 of us, and the boys really enjoyed doing their activities packs! Cassie was fantastic at helping us out with our table's food intolerances. She went above and beyond to make sure all we had was safe for us to eat. I was so sorry to not have any cash to leave her a tip, maybe making that an option on the card machine would be helpful!

Cassie was very helpful and friendly cannot fault any of the staff. Food was great have eaten here 3 times now this month. Can't think of how you can improve other than staffing levels down stairs everyone was extremely busy cannot thank you all enough.

Short staffed so a bit slow but friendly service so no complaints, I wasn't in a hurry! Steaks were decent, and the trimmings and calamari strips. Disappointed there was no ice cream available. Salad bar a bit limp but it was a quiet Thursday evening so probably par. Standard Harvester experience on the whole, can't complain :)

I went with my family.. The table was dirty, the menus were dirty.. The floor was dirty... Two toilets were out of order.. The food was awful... Half hot half warm.. Some dishes were completely dry... Worst experience in a restaurant to date.

Visited 27.08.24. Food was amazing - super value with the summer kids eat for £1 deal for every adult main ordered. Salad bar always a delight. My husband is a vegan, and the vegan menu was great with lots of options. Sharon served us and was attentive, friendly and bang on with everything we ordered, couldn’t fault at all. If we’re in Brighton again soon we’ll definitely be back!!

Visit at 8pm. Salad bar a mess mostly empty. The main meal was ok, The waiter looks like he wanted to be elsewhere. Continues children Screaming. You would have thought it was a children's soft play rather than a restaurant.

Where do I start ! We arrived yesterday after a lovely day , .firstly I had to look for staff , to see if they are open, then finally took upstairs. Very shabby looking harvester ! Un clean. ..absolutely ages for someone to take our orders .eventually the cold food arrived. Along with drinks ....by this time we wanted to just leave ...I only eat the scampi chios was cold . The others was 2 kids meal n my daughter has a chicken dish... Now waiting for the bill and to pay must of been 20mins or more ,, absolute joke!!! So we left .I thought was it , drove home back to London..... Once I was near Crawley I stated to feel alit not right , but it down to long day !! However now home 11pm ish , I don't feel the best head hurts , my chest n heart pumping fast. . Next 10 mins the toilet is required fast , then hot sweats stomach cramps....now I'm starting to feel sick also !!!, by 1 am I'm vomiting hot sweats , toilet upset stomach my chest hurts sweating......now 3 am I feel totally unwell vomiting etc... .i truly believe this is from this restaurant... This harvester let's all the other restaurant down...poor poor poor !!! By the way I only had a ham sandwich n breakfast so my stomach and vomiting was most definitely from this restaurant... I can't go to work today due to still feel unwell.

Me and the family went to the harvester to have a meal for my partners birthday and instead walked out and went to Eastbourne harvester outside seating area was disgusting and benches are broken and umbrella's broken or just fell down on us! 10+ Seagulls next to us eating leftovers on the bench sharp steak knife on the floor!!! Was UNSAFE for my daughter to sit and eat!! Never again!

This was our first visit and we will definitely not come back. Despite not being busy at all and 4 people working on the flood, out table was dirty, no napkins and the menu was absolutely filthy. Food absolutely bland.

Not much choice of of real beer in this pub only John Smiths.
