Hasina Tandoori Restaurant in Southend-on-Sea

Went to Hasina for the first time in such a long time after moving out of Leigh. It was great to be back the food is actually better than I remember! So delicious & fresh will definitely be going back soon & have already messaged all my friends to go out for dinner. Would definitely recommend

Worse Indian I have ever been to,did not even try food as staff ignored us for 25 mins,while serving other customers 2/3 times over,lighting was terrible,definitely avoid. About 7 staff standing around blatantly ignoring us

Ordered a takeaway xmas eve via uber - while eating found something which I’m sure was a shell of some sort in a chicken tikka masala - it made me sick and uber only refunded £18.04 of a £33.75 order when the lot had to go in the bin fue to allergy! I am utterly disgusted and sickened still!!

Went with friends and this is probably the nicest Chicken Tikka Pathia (It wasn't on the menu) that I have had in about 20 years. There was lots of chicken, the meat was white and tender, and the sauce was piquant and nicely spiced. I'm so looking forward to exploring more of the menu. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and couldn't be more helpful. I've always struggled to find a good Indian restaurant, but I think I might have found a favourite.

Food is normally excellent but main dishes were bland needed more spices. Probably our personal taste. Still best curry in town.

Reading all the reviews below I’m wondering if I went to the same place! Staff very slow getting our drinks over and slow taking our food order, the chicken was so dry I’m still trying to swallow it! This isn’t the best place and after the money I spent I will not be returning here.

The curry sauce tasted watery, like it had been frozen and reheated or had water added to it. There was not as much meat as we used to get.

Dinner with the Mrs and kids at Hasina was really a treat for me because honestly I got a 10/10 approval from the mrs and my 3 kids which is a rare thing believe me! The food was so delicious, service was great, beautiful restaurant, the music took us back down memory lane, mrs absolutely loved it, they really have got it figured out.

We were recommended this restaurant by friends and they were not wrong . Wonderful food, tasty and hot, served promptly. The drinks are at prices you would expect. The decor is welcoming and the staff, attentive. We were surprised by the relatively low ranks by of this restaurant on Tripadvisor but don’t be put off. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. Personally, I don’t mind paying for food that is delicious and served in pleasant surroundings. Nothing worse than food that doesn’t warrant the price tag. No such problem here. It’s wouldn’t rank as a local restaurant for us, we travelled a few miles to get there, but we would recommend The Hasina to anyone who likes good, fresh, tasty Indian food. Just let the staff know your preference and they will provide just what you want. The portions are large so ensure you’re hungry when you visit.

Had a takeaway for the first time from here and was not disappointed. Staff were diligent as was a large order. The special lamb really is special! Everything was freshly cooked, hot and delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

I have been a regular here since it first opened almost 40 years ago and it remains, to this day, my go-to curry house in the area. The menu has all the classics, but also some interesting items that I have rarely seen elsewhere. The food is consistently excellent and they will accommodate any special requests you might have. The decor is very good and provides a nice relaxing atmosphere for dinner. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely food however we were charged £3.98 each for the sauces which came with the poppadoms . Sadly we will not be returning

I dont usually get Takeaway from here but fancied a change. The lamb was incredible however my madras was bland and I cant believe they charge £1 for a poppadum. Overall good but expensive compared to other takeaways. I enjoyed my meal however I will probably go to another restaurant next time.

The madras was bland, my wife's tikka masala watery and for me the order was overpriced. I wont order from here again.

Went for New years day dinner as we had promised ourselves a indian meal treat over Christmas. The waiters are always happy to chat, make recommendations/suggestions and also have a bit of banter with the customers, which we saw with a very large family group of people who were a few tables form us. The food is always hot and cooked well and the portions are a good size, this time i ordered a biriyani which although was very nice, i would not order again as it was too bland for me. I have clearly changed my palate and prefer more spice & flavour. So next time I will be asking for their suggestions and not choosing my own lol. Another good visit for us. Lovely clean venue and free parking.

A very modern and beautifully furnished restaurant. The staff are very helpful and polite. The food is excellent and it's all very reasonably priced. My first visit since the refurbishment, I have a new favourite Indian local restaurant.

Sauce in both curry’s was too watery, need to be thicker, needs more flavour in the curry itself, was bordering on being bland which was a shame. Samosa portion size was very small for the price they charge, overall not a great curry.

Ordered a £50 takeaway tonight, the supposedly chicken dishes were full of onions and tasteless, in this day of austerity they shouldn’t take liberties with portion amounts or they will lose customers very quickly

From start to finish the service was first class. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. The food was excellent and although two of our four are not local all will return. Nothing but praise for a fantastic experience

Lovely food. Probably the best Indian in the area - definitely reflects on the price as it’s about £5-10 more than other Indian takeaways which is fine because it’s decent. However .. they don’t give any freebies whatsoever which is the only downside to this takeaway - everywhere else gives you at least a free popadom after spending that much money.

Bland! Do not order the special byriani - no flavour! I had pathia -very disappointed! Chips were soggy and slightly warm! Plus side garlic mushrooms were nice - but greasy! Won’t be going back!

All good was semi-warm but the rice and tikka starter was totally cold to the touch! Not enjoyable at all - good job I wasn’t that hungry!!!!

This place is usually Amazing but today was bland. Had a jalfrezi which had no chillis in and had no heat was more like a dupiaza, had the mildest pathia I've ever eaten. It was nice but no heat and a bit disappointed really.

It was as good as ever. Prices are still good. Portions are smaller.

Placed order at 7pm. Called up at 8pm as no update. Hasina said it was out for delivery. Called up again at 8.30pm. Arrived at 8.35pm. It took 1hr 35m from the time of ordering. Will not be using just eat in the future.
