I regularly collect takeaways from here. The service on the telephone and when collecting is always great (and very welcoming!) The food is too a high quality and very flavoursome. My favourite Indian Restaurant & Takeaway A great part of our village too!

Booked tonight Friday 10th of Januaryfor my wife's birthday. Booked online and commented it was my wife's birthday. Food was superb. Beautiful surroundings, great atmosphere, great food and friendly staff

First visit for a takeaway this evening and the service was excellent. I went in to order and was advised 10-15 mins but have my mum in the car so advised would be back in when the time was up. As I was getting out the car the very friendly front counter staff has brought the food to the car for me. The food was delicious. Will definitely be back for sure. Thank you for a great experience.

WOW......jumped on a Facebook feed and ordered my first meal for my birthday last night. Best takeaway we have ever had. Ordered over the phone lady who answered was very polite, took our order and said it would be with us in half an hour. Turned up bang on time food piping hot and really nice delivery guy. So, onion bhajis were lovely and crispy and fresh, 2 the size of a tennis ball with a fresh salad and mint dressing. Deffo need to try. We ordered half tandoori chicken, tandoori thali (take a look at this dish on the menu), excellent price and so much, mixed balti spicy, Every mouthful was delicious, so many flavours, big portions and plenty of meat, not to mention the prawns. Can't wait to have a sit down meal next year when things are quieter. PLEASE GIVE THEM A TRY UOU WONT REGRET IT.

Haveli is the best Indian restaurant and takeaway in the North East! It's my go to place for food and special occasions. The chef's recommended dishes are awesome. I recommend the Goan, Jal-jhool and definitely the Balti garlic special! If you love food you'll love Haveli. 10 out of 10.

Good food and good service at the beginning of the evening that is until we overstayed our welcome, just as we were getting ready to leave I went to the bathroom when I came out our table was cleared and another party was sitting there. The server insisted on helping me out my coat on as he said I had too much to drink (not true) as he frog marched me through the door pushing my coat on me despite being asked not to! Definitely not a pleasant experience and won’t be repeated

10/10! Recently celebrated my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary and everything was perfect. Service and staff were friendly and very accommodating especially as there was 10 or 12 of us. Food was very tasty and I couldn’t recommend this place more.

We get takeaway/eat in twice a month and oh my days!! What an experience!! The staff are amazing so friendly and happy to help with any enquiries. For being a small restaurant and takeaway they are always busy definitely recommend booking for the restaurant. Food is amazing and full of flavour! Always get recommendations for different meals. Staff are only human and can sometimes make a mistake but are first to correct it without any fuss! Can not fault the staff. We will be returning with friends in the near future.

We have visited once and were delighted. Trying to visit again but the online booking system ( fill in form and await email) simply does not work. Two days later and we have no idea if we have a booking or not... And it's for our wedding anniversary! Yes... I have checked spam! Don't know whether to turn up or book elsewhere... And they don't open until 5.30. Edit: following this review I got a call and apology. Told to ask for owner when we arrived and he would ' look after us'. This we did and were told that he was busy in the kitchen and couldn't come out to see us. We stayed for a decent meal but totally let down by the service. Felt he had just enticed us in and made patronising promises. EDIT AGAIN: Hi Shuheb. Everything after your first paragraph is a mistake. You have completely mis-interpreted my edit. We have not visited again. You did not need to get so upset or to respond as if I had secretly crept in and then reviewed you. I was merely updating my original review, to which you responded, with the fact that you had responded and what then happened. We have not been in again otherwise I would have mentioned it. Our interaction ceased at the point in Sept. when you were too busy to leave the kitchen. We have not been back. Please also note that I gave your food 5 stars.

Visited here tonight for the first time. Lovely atmosphere, nice and quiet. Very nice decor - most Indian resteraunts are a little dated but not this one. The food was probably the best I've ever had. Prawns were cooked to perfection with plenty of flavour. The portion sizes were huge, value for money definitely. Good selection of drinks as well, we will return.

Very nice local Indian restaurant with elegant decor, fresh flowers and friendly, attentive wait staff. Tasty, fresh dishes with tender meat. Mild heat in comparison to most Indian restaurants. Good value for a special night out.

Beautiful venue and food but what really made it was the friendly staff and great service. Can’t wait to go back!

Cannot fault this restaurant. My first time visting tonight. The staff were fanstatsic with my children and very attentive to our table. The restaurant was clean, it had a nice atmosphere and well decorated. Most importantly the food was excellent and fairly priced. We used to dine at Le Raaj in Chester Le Street for Indian food, but the prices became astronomical! So we decided to look elsewhere. Tried here on recommendation and so pleased we did, it was easily the best curry (better than Le Raaj) I have had in a long time. We will be returning very soon, of that I have no doubt. My daughters said "it was the best restaurant I have been too", word for word, they loved it. We now have another restaurant to dine as a family. I would highly recommend!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening out at Haveli. The food was absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend not just the restaurant but also the takeaway as we have done so in the past. Only concern we had was that we couldn't receive a reception on our phone's to book a taxi as apparently it's a common problem in the area. Luckily for us, the owners son was a taxi driver too and gave us a lift to our next destination. Very much appreciated to you (Apologies as I didn't get a name), but thanks. Definitely coming back to Haveli 😁.

Visited for the first time with my friends on Friday evening. A beautiful modern restaurant with staff who were so friendly. The food was amazing, really generous portions, so tasty and well presented. Will definitely be back soon 😍

1st time I've used this takeaway, Starters onion bhaji, chicken tikka Mains chicken dupiaza, chicken korma Garlic and keema naan Absolutely beautiful would recommend them over all others we have tried, excellent Service from the girl on the phone, food and delivery girl, fast efficient service 10/10

Had vegetable dopiaza. It was the most bland and tasteless curry we've ever had. To its credit it had a good range of vegetables in it, it was just tasteless. The veg pilau rice had almost no veg in it (one piece of broccoli) and they missed the alloo Gobi off our order and put a garlic naan in instead (we already ordered a peshwari naan, so we ended up with two breads). The onion Baji was good, as was the naan. Very disappointed after hearing so many good things. (Takeaway order)

We ordered our food at 17:30 it arrived at 18:15, excellent service considering we live in Washington. The food was fantastic, excellent quality of ingredients creating an authentic Indian meal you would expect from a top class establishment. We had a thoroughly enjoyable "night out in"... Just had sit down dinner for six. Very accomodating.Assisted my mum who was walking with sticks. Beautiful environment and super service. Most important of all food was superb. First visit and defenitely not the last.

Me and my family visited Haveli for a sit in meal on 07/09/23. We live in Lumley so have ate in house and ordered takeaways from here countless times over the years. The closing time is stated at 11pm, so didn’t think anything of coming in for a table at 8:45pm. When we entered, we were asked “what time do you call this?’ As though we’d walked in 30 minutes before closing. Granted, the restaurant only had one other table in, but if your closing time is listed as 11pm, I’d expect you to close at 11pm. Our server was consistently rude and rushed us throughout our entire time inside the restaurant. Comments were made throughout the ordering process such as “no starters and just mains then?” and “are you sure you’ve been here before?”. The food as always was great, but the service was horrific and left us wishing we’d never bothered coming in. Towards the end of our visit, we’d finished our food but a couple of us still had drinks. Our server hovered over us and was waiting for us to finish and said ‘no need to neck your drinks but I want to get home’. A highly embarrassing and unprofessional comment which made us all look at each other in disbelief. To top it off, I never had to ask for the bill, as our waiter said “I’m going to be cheeky now and go and grab your bill”. Our total came to £93, I asked our waiter if contactless would work - he replied with “it depends if you’ve spent enough”. Once again, highly unprofessional and a disgraceful attitude to have towards customers. I’ll make sure my £100 goes to a better establishment in the future. I think we’ll stick to Le Raaj from now on, where they know how to properly treat customers, and don’t rush them out of their restaurant and make them feel like a hinderance by putting money in their till. *Response to owners* The fact you’re refusing to accept any sort of accountability is bizarre, I really expected a more professional response from a usually great restaurant. There was indeed multiple members of staff on shift, but the waiter serving us was consistent throughout our stay. I don’t know why you’d have multiple staff members serving the only table in the restaurant. The rest of the staff at the front of house were around the bar area, yourself included where you were sat down at the top table. I have no doubt that you’ve let people stay after closing time in the past, but on this particular occasion we were rushed out of the restaurant as everybody was after an early finish, which is more than fair considering you were quiet and we were the last table, but don’t bother seating customers in the first place if you can’t uphold and maintain your standards and professionalism even when it’s quiet.

Very impressed with service , our waiter was Arif he was very friendly and took notice of all the details of our order. We will definitely come back when we are in the area. 👍🏻

Rang up for a take away told them last one was not very hot got a replace curry on the house and a drink woman on phone so very kind and helpful and man that delivered it works at the place what a lovely person didnot think there was many kind people still about they made me feel happy once again thankyou so much to all of you

Edit 16/8/23: Not really sure what's changed here, don't get me wrong here, I still think this place is brilliant. Recently however there have been times we have received our food and it's been, well let's say subpar. Orders we've previously had many times have arrived tasting not quite right, and we've ended up binning a lot of it. On occasion the meal pots are swimming in what looks like excess water, and it's just a little off-putting. Still a great place to visit for a meal, but due to these inconsistencies I've slightly lowered my review rating. Original review: Been a regular here now since they reopened/relocated. I don't have a bad thing to say about the staff or the food. Can't recommend highly enough. 5* all day everyday.

Had a takeaway from here tonight and have to say the best I’ve had in over 50 years.

I've been searching for a good Indian for probably months now and tonight I found it! One of the best Indians I've had in a long time! The chef special was perfect and the peshwari naan was possibly the best one I've had. I only got a takeaway, nevertheless customer service was very good. Top marks.

Amazing food and a lovely restaurant

Been here loads for take away and to eat in. Never been disappointed. The food is always superb and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I'll definitely keep coming back. I had the Thali Tandoori last time and it was excellent. This time it was the Hariali which was beautiful we keep coming back.

Our second sat down meal here. The food and staff are spot on. We can highly recommend the onion bhajis and the king prawn shashlick and lamb dishes. No after effects either. The only thing is it gets very busy so can be noisy with big tables near you.

Went to haveli for the 1st time last night absolutely spot on great service nice restaurant. My chicken vindaloo perfect my wife said her lamb bhuna was the best she has had lamb was so lean and tender and cheese nan was perfect would highly recommend you won't be disappointed. The food and service was excellent however on this night there was a large party of 24 celebrating so it was a bit too loud but this wouldn't stop me going back I would just check there were no large parties in when I book. One of the best Indian restaurants in the area and well worth a visit

After reading good reviews online three of us visited the restaurant this evening. We were not disappointed and the food was lovely. The lamb and chicken was cooked perfect and the staff were very friendly. We will definitely visit again for both take away and dinning in.
