Hazev in Tower Hamlets

The restaurant always seems to have great vibe around it and is full of customers from breakfast till dinner. So, we got curious to try it out. We came for breakfast, I had lentil soup and menemen (Turkish egg dish with tomato), and we shared mezze (starters). Food was delicious, however, after the visit all four of us got terrible food poisoning (I was ill for a week and almost got into hospital). So, clearly hygiene standard needs to be investigated at this place. I also don’t remember the last time I got such bad service as here. There were two workers on the early shift serving three tables, and they came to re-confirm our order twice, and even despite that and despite us waiting for over 40min, they did not get our orders right from the first (and even second!) time 🙈 Lots of room for improvement!

On holiday in England, dinner on Christmas day. Being from New Zealand, lamb, and mutton are our thing. Our expectations were high, hoping the lamb would fall apart at the touch. Unfortunately, it did not. So sadly, we were left disappointed. The venue was pumping, and the vibe was electric - we loved the experience and atmosphere but felt let down by the food.

Visited here many times, always get a pretty good meal. Not too pricey.

A down-to-Earth unpretentious establishment. Very attentive waiting staff, happy and smiley. Cuisine is Middle Eastern, with Turkish nuances, obviuosly. Or, as one may call it, Mediterranean. I would say, it's a Middle Eastern cooking. Original flavours, basics are in place. This is what it's all about. Nothing not be liked. Yet, it's not a sophisticated cuisine. Everyone in your party, regardless of numbers, will be pleased.

It was self service. Not bad, quite place and relaxing. I have ordered pastry and not sure if they have some other options for meal s main course. For short term meetings and dates or so it's perfect, can't say more for something else. Good environment and nice place. The service can be improved and the payment can be improved with options for cash payment. It's only available for cards and contactless payments, which Is NOT convenient. (I wanted to pay cash, although I had funds in my card). Also, found it a bit expensive as for one small piece of baklava (pretty much the size of one bite) and piece of kadaif with tea have paid £11.00 which I think is expensive.

Was a lovely evening. Food was lovely and atmosphere is very nice of restaurant. Parking is a bit of a pain on Saturday but I guess that’s expected.

Fantastic place. A must visit to when on or around Canary Wharf. Don't believe the 1* review by someone, absolute rubbish.

The place is huge, and has very good decor. But the food is quite below average. Did not find anything I ate particularly delicious. Also, even by Canary Wharf standards, this place is quite expensive. Add to the mediocre taste the high prices I would recommend to avoid this place altogether, unless you are too desperate to eat anywhere.

We came in Christmas Day and even tho the place was pretty and it looked busy, the prices were extortionate expensive for what we got. A Mediterranean platter ! Let me describe it to you. 4 pieces of tomatoe 4 pieces of cucumber 1/4 not even that of avocado Mini bowl of honey. 2 very small pieces of cheese, 4 pieces of rocket and a mini bowl of olives. I was shocked as I thought I was going to get fed. But no way, I ended up ordering omelette which it was tasty thanks God. So if you come to this restaurant please Avoid ordering this Mediterranean nonsense as it was not good ! If you are the owner of this place or the person in charge of the menus pls BE HONEST and tell people that that specific platter is a rip off and that they will need to spend more as they will go home hungry. Very disappointing….

The chicken tenders value is embarrassing. The beers were good though. The service was very good. It’s buzzing on Christmas Day here.

Unfortunately I cannot leave a review for the food. The environment seems nice... unfortunately the service is non-existent. Given that we hadn't booked, we went aware of a possible wait (the restaurant was actually busy). At the entrance desk they told us about a 20/30 minute wait and made us sit at the bar. At 45 minutes I asked for updates (which were not received). At 60 minutes and after leaving several pounds at the bar, I changed restaurants. This is no way to treat customers. If there is no room, we say immediately, so as not to make people wait unnecessarily. If it says 30 minutes it must be so, otherwise it's just a rip-off. As said: really bad service.

A decent dining experience in s great location overlooking the river in canary wharf

I am rather glad that this gem has not blown up on Tiktok and therefore the atmosphere is delightful! I visited to celebrate a friend's birthday, table for two and the staff was sweet, friendly and most importantly attentive. They even served us with a slice of cake at the end! A pleasant surprise. Please do not ruin this place for me by raving about it on Tiktok!!!

I really enjoy the deli for lunch. Very tasty, healthy menu options, friendly service and plenty of tables.

We were new and just visiting Canary Wharf and was spoiled for choices but we chanced upon this Turkish spot along the South Dock and fell in love immediately. We are great fans of Turkish mezzes and it's been months since we had a spread of those and we went in to get some together with raki and it was simply the best! The servers were very polite and accommodating, and regularly check in on us if our orders were satisfying. It is truly a large sprawling establishment but the side we were on was quieter and truly what we needed after a long day treading through the crowded bits of London. Thanks for this and we hope to come again the next chance we visit Canary Wharf!

Unfortunately I booked a table at this restaurant via their own website but the restaurant then cancelled the booking with no explanation. When I phoned to ask why they had cancelled the booking they put the phone down on me. The second time I called I got an answerphone. I have given up.

We was 4 people altogether and I can say I was not pleased with the service and the food. The prices were reasonable for the area, nothing to say about that all no problem but one of the waiters that took our order did not take my allergies seriously at all which I think is a big problem. I could of have a serious reaction, very dangerous and risky. I kindly asked him at the start if there is any Onions inside the Lamb shish dish for any sides such as salad or rice or anything else and he said no. Turns out there were onions inside the couscous salad. Maybe he did not know there was any onions inside the couscous salad but he could have at least written a note on the system that there is an allergen such as this etc etc. Other than that the other waiter which I think was the manager, took my plate and came back with chips on the side. But until that all came back the food was absolutely cold. A discount could have been made or service charge was expected to be taken off but none of that was taken into consideration either. We will not be back.

Lovely place, good prices, diverse food, meat or vegetarian, tasty. The sweets and the turkish coffee are delicious. I recommend it.

I had brunch at Hazev yesterday with a group of 15 friends. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. There were quite a few options that I considered but I chose to have the English Breakfast. Each of the items were delicious. In particular I liked the sausages! I had a taste of the halwa and halloumi cheese that somebody else had ordered and they were very tasty too. The mint tea was out of this world!! The service was organised by Mouget. She was attentive, made recommendations when requested and had a very happy presence. I regularly visit the cafe but this was the first time I dined in. I would definitely return for breakfast/brunch/lunch or dinner.

Great quality genuine Turkish food, great friendly service on the cafe side. Totally recommend some classic like lentil-soup or poaca, less so the menimen.

The place is nice and the service is good. Unfortunately, the food is not authentic Turkish, nor is it tasty. I ordered the iskendar kebab and it tasted nothing like the original. Bits of meat and regular bread, in a bland tomato sauce. Will stick to green lanes next time.

I have been living nearby for almost 4 years now. I recall buying sweets or sandwiches for takeaway and the price was at least, if not lower than, HALF of what is now!! Perhaps the UK inflation is not applicable to this restaurant… I can only think of taking advantage/abusing of things being more expensive nowadays. I just turned up recently after 2 years; maybe I will revisit again in 2-3 years from now when hopefully it will have closed.

Hazev is a beautiful turkish restaurant, located in the most beautiful and serene part of London, canary wharf, I walked from my hotel till Hazev and I will never forget how serene the walk was and topped it off with delicious, flavourful food from Hazev. Iskendar kebab, kofte, falafel, mix platter, hummus and the ambiance were all top notch!

Excellent food and dining experience. There is some parking in the side streets a short walk away which happened to be free at the time due to building works going on. Nice views out of the window with a lovely cosy family atmosphere.

Excellent restaurant. Good staff, great food. Took my mom here while she was visiting and she loved it as well. We went for the mixed grill and manti (lamb meatballs pasta - was delicious)! The bread was also excellent and they replenished it for free. The food is also halal which was great. They made one small mistake with switching out the couscous with bulgur but they quickly gave us an extra portion on the house. will definitely be back again. Bonus there was free parking on the road nearby, 5 mins away.

As a visually impaired person, I loved this place, especially Ms. Müge and Mr. Tahir were very interested and helpful, they were also friendly and all the employees were good, they were friendly, it is a stunning place, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who comes to London.

In a good and beautiful restaurant in Canary Wharf, we had a good time and the food was really good, the only flaw is that I find the starters a little too expensive, but this is my personal point of view because I am used to restaurants in Italy

Great location, awesome food, stunning service, reasonably priced, just a great evening out all round. We all ate a lot more than we planned to, but the restaurant team were extremely accommodating with menu changes and also with prayer space. It felt like visiting friends...

Manager was appalling. He was dressed in a white t shirt and wore glasses. The moment we walked in you could tell he did not want us to be in the Restraunt. We had a booking for 9:30 and arrived slightly earlier. In a rude tone and voice he said bookings should be made the day before. If this was the case why were we able to book a table online? A few people walked in with no reservations and were sat down with no issues. This was the same case for a couple who walked in afterwards where they were seated with no issues. However the waiters who served us were lovely and incredible. The treatment by the manager did overall ruin the night.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here.

Iskender was so delicious… Highly recommended especially if it is your first time with Turkish food.

My first visit to this restaurant which was a great experience The food was fresh and delicious with generous portions and very tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was plenty of seating inside and spacious enough to have privacy. I took away some baklava which was so fresh delicate and delicious. I would highly recommend a breakfast lunch or evening visit.. A fabulous place that can cater to large numbers with amazing food The latte was one of the best along with the Turkish chai my son enjoyed. I will be going back again.

Great place with gluten free options. You can say you are coeliac and they will be very careful (prepare everything separately etc). They don’t have gf bread but they will give you veggie sticks.

They tried giving us a more expensive menu saying if we sit in that area that was d menu but d table next to us had different menu with much more choice & better prices (the one U see online) they gave us the more choice menu once we asked bout it so all good. The manager, a Turkish gentleman, said that the food was Halal. There are Turkish cuisine options. Appetizers and meals are delicious, prices are very reasonable. I would recommend.

Shocking don’t do it. When you get an applying meal the worst Turkish ever.It was disgusting service from the waiter I had in my life. Just waste of money. we spent £65 for nothing.Very disappointed. also very poor customer service. I wouldn’t recommended anyone in this restaurant. The waiter was so rude. He made the mistake of not explaining himself properly about the bill and then tried to put the blame on us. Overcharging us.As we entered the restaurant we didn’t feel any welcoming reaction from the waiter. He was rude and instead of apologising and trying to resolve the issue he was telling us not to come to the restaurant! I wouldn’t even go there even if someone paid me!!! Also there’s a language barrier, I suggest the owner should hire people that can speak proper English! The waiter is short.. speaks broken English and have a goatee don’t waste your money in a place like this… 5 years anniversary date got ruined!😡 😡 we would have come again because of the food and atmosphere. But do to the poor behaviour from the waiter. We wouldn’t go there again. Also the waiter rushed us it was near closing time but we checked in 9:30 and left 10:30 because of his rushing.🤮🤮🤮🤮

I just love it here. I often stay at a hotel next door for work and Hazev is my favourite place to eat, whether alone to work late, or with colleagues or friends. I just took my partner there for his birthday too. No matter the occasion, I've always found staff to be warmly welcoming, super professional, and friendly. The food is delicious and thanks to staff recommendations, I'm now a fan of Turkish wine.

Helpful staff and amazing food !!!

I ordered a chicken wrap. No mushrooms. When order arrived, 'no mushrooms' were confirmed. Took a bite and a mouthful of mushrooms. I spat it out and asked for a refund of my whole bill. Fortunately I had some antihistamine which I took while getting my refund. There was no apology. Very dangerous place to eat if you have any allergies. I have no idea how to report such a thing, but they should be monitored for customer safety.

We went at 12 for Turkish “serpme” breakfast for 2 people. They said they only do that on weekends and we can have a normal breakfast next door. I don’t quite understand why they wouldn’t do the serpme breakfast on week days given it’s a Turkish speciality. Anyway we were offered to sit next door which was there add on cafe, we asked for 2 high chairs, the staff didn’t know what it was then had to ask someone. They brought 2 high hairs but both didn’t have straps and they said they don’t have any with straps. Unfortunately, as the high chairs didn’t have straps we had to leave as this is a safety measure for active kids.

The manager felt like he wanted to close the place really quick. We went there for dinner about 9pm. On google the place shows it closes at 11pm. We got our mains and we wanted to order a bit more. The manager didn't even inform us that the kitchen had closed. Only when we wanted to place a new order he told us the kitchen closed. For a place of this standard it would be common courtesy for the manager to let us know that the kitchen is closing. The bill was bought to us without us asking for it. We really felt the manager just wanted to go home.

An Authentic Turkish Delight with Exceptional Service I absolutely love my local Turkish restaurant! The food is incredibly fresh, like they have their grandmother cooking in the back. Sruthi, my favorite server, always has a bright golden smile and never forgets anyone's order, even when I bring multiple friends. Manager Ibrahim is exceptionally efficient, observing every table and ensuring everyone leaves satisfied. This place feels like family. If you want an authentic Turkish experience, come on down. You won't be disappointed!

I recently enjoyed an amazing Turkish breakfast at Hazev Restaurant, which truly captured the essence of Turkish hospitality and cuisine. I am a great lover of Turkish food visited Istanbul and anatolia many times.But unfortunately did not find the Hazev version tasty.Somebody in the kitchen has a heavy hand with hot spices. The kabab tasted the same as in an Indian restaurant.So spicy that one could not taste the meat.Bulgur was spicy also. The only thing I ate were the mashed potato.The little side salad was with no sauce.I wanted to try the lentil soup and was told it is spicy too.Sorry Hazev but I cannot dine with you.

Hazev I have seen your response couple of days ago , regarding the London's cosmopolitan nature restaurant i just want to clarify that i was not comfortable from the behavior not the usage of foreign language because something like this is very understandable and I would like to thank you for your response and i appreciate your consideration to my review and i would defiantly visit again and i did, it was a nice chance for me to try new things and i have been served by nice staff in my 3rd and 4th visits in the last days, thank you so much and i wish you all the best --- This was my second visit as i came the day before as well because i liked what i purchased, but in my second visit i have had a bad experiance with the person who was serving me, she was very rude, i came to the cafe / cold meze side of the resturant ,i requested a take away order and i was being served by a woman ,she seemed very angry while she was doing my order,every time i ask her for more item to add before she finalise my order she gets more angry and put the item in an agressive way while she is exhaling the air through her nose impatiently and angrily , although thare was no queue ,it was just me and a woman came to order tea and someone eles walked in ,but the place was not busy and i was patiently waiting without rushing her, she angrily was puting my order and forcefully beating the tea glasses on the table while she is making them while the tea was not for me, she was talking with the women while they were looking at me from a distance and although i was unable to understand what they were saying i felt uncomfirtable from the angry behavior in total from the begining ,i was making more order and wanted to have more things but i ended up with having some buscuit or something i dont know what it is because i felt uncomftable and wanted to leave very quickly, while i am not supposed to feel like this as a respectful customer, For my previous visit i asked another woman in the same area about the closing time because it was confusing that you were closing at 10 while in google map it states the close is at 11 and once i told her she said no without checking or explaning I have lived in canary wharf for a while until now and saw how good is this area, and i have visited many resturants that were busier and bigger than your resturant and never been treated in this way, and i know how people well treat their customers I have nothing eles to say rather than that i took my order while i am very disappointed from the way i have been served, and just wanted to pass you this review directly redgardless the outcome, as i belive that me as a customer should always be heard and valued and your business is beinh developed through customers' feedback. I tried to contact the restrant to make a complain and they never replied, if you decide to run a restaurant you should first value your customer Also the stuffed vine leaves were not home-made, it was just the ready premade that are stored in cans ,that what they were serving which did not derserve the money

Restaurant is located next to the Hilton Hotel and just opposite canary wharf offices. The service was really good, as we had a kid with us they also provided a kids menu and took time to answer any questions regarding the menu. The food was excellent, fresh and tasty, I will definitely return again.
