Hej Coffee in Southwark

Hej is a great place to work and drink coffee! There is good wifi and a friendly atmosphere - nobody hassles you and the coffee is great ! There is also a good range of lunch / brunch options nicely presented and good quality , especially for the price.

The website on which we saw Hej Coffee advertised this as a hip coffee bar, but the location was a bit sad to be honest.

I used to come here almost every weekday as it’s a lovely space on Bermondsey square. It just feels like the food and service has gone down since covid.

Great location, interesting interior with outside seating. Then there’s the staff. Too many of them and the slowest pace of any activity. Uncleared tables, the place looks like it needs a good scrub - dead plants are a strong indicator that no one cares. This place should be twice as busy but the current staff aren’t inclined to do more than the bare minimum. It’s Bermondsey, coffee shops are on most corners.

Im glad to see Hej surviving these plague times, they have long provided a community hub and good coffee with friendly service by a good team of young barristas always up for a chat and a 'hello how are you' this is a vital extra thing you dont get from a Costa or a coffee dispenser in a supermarket. Long may it hang in there.

Nice coffee .had beigel .smoke salmon and cream cheese . Toasted ham and cheese .nice fresh full of flavour .nice and relaxing .would go again.

Very cosy and proper “Bermondsey “ vibes . Dog friendly , our dog had lots of fun. I had a salmon bap with eggs that was so cold that my teeth were sore. Wouldn’t eat there again.

Heerlijk ontbijtje gegeten. Goede koffie, heerlijke broodjes en super worstenbroodje (aanrader). De jongens achter de counter waren super vriendelijk. Geen wc maar als je het weet kun je daar rekening mee houden.

A well situated cafe a short walk from the White Cube gallery just off Tower bridge Road. The service was fast and friendly and the food we had was good. The selection of sandwiches is a bit limited but fine for us. Not sure why they can't provide a single toilet cubicle- would put me off returning.

The coffee at Hej is really good, with non-dairy milks at no extra cost which is great, and their treats are tasty too, especially the cinnamon bun. The cafe is cosy inside, so can get quite busy but is a nice place to relax.

Honestly, smells great with the coffee and fresh food. Such a cosy feel, friendly staff and the perfect coffee. So glad i stumbled upon this place!

It is illegal to have no toilets if it offers nore than 10 seats. Please provide toilets or reduce your seats.

This a cosy, quirky cafe that serves great coffee. The space is compact so it is quite cramped inside but the coffee makes it worth a visit.

Cold weak coffee, watery eggs and nothing fancy about the smashed avo. Nothing was terrible but I could make it better myself for sure. I'll give them another try in the future because they are close to home but I don't think I'd go out...

Great Scandinavian feel. Cinnamon buns are delicious, great for breakfast or lunch. Coffee is also delicious.

Delicious coffee, an array of tasty treats and cosy atmosphere. Lived opposite here for 3 years - a key hub of the neighbourhood!

Super adorable, very cozy, but while most people get a pot of tea when ordering I was given only a cup and charged the same amount. But perhaps they just didn't like the look of me!
