Our first visit last night. We could not fault the surroundings, staff or food. We would certainly book again and would happily recommend.

Our first Sunday Roast at Highfield Hotel. I had the pork roast which was excellent and my husband enjoyed the beef. The vegetables were plentiful and we were tempted to have dessert. My Strawberries & Cream Mille -Feuille was worth the calories! The dining room is a beautiful setting with windows and doors to a very attractive terrace where it’s possible to have pre or post dinner drinks. The staff were attentive, Gemma in particular served us with a smile and showed care in all she did. A very positive experience and hopefully not our last.

Delightful setting, lovely staff and a first class meal and service. We were celebrating both our birthdays, my 75th and my husbands 87th. We had a lovely evening.

My husband and I visited to celebrate a special birthday. We were greeted upon our arrival by a very friendly member of the team and shown to our table in the restaurant straight away. The dining room itself was stunning and we were blown away as we didn’t expect it to be so lovely. Although we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, there were a couple of things that let it down, hence only scoring 4 out of 5. Firstly, my starter was supposed to be blue cheese bon bons but after I ordered them was told they were actually goats cheese - which was ok and they were still lovely. Secondly we both had steak for the main course and although it was served with chips the presentation was somewhat lacking. At a cost of £29 & £39 respectively we felt that should have been reflected in the presentation. Very tasty though but very expensive for what it was. Lastly, I had one scoop of ice cream for my dessert and although it was delicious, the nicest salted caramel I’ve ever had, it was the smallest scoop ever and served in quite a large dish which made it look even smaller. At £4.50 a scoop I felt a little ripped off - definately needed to be at least 2x the size to make it worth paying for. If i’d know I wouldn’t have ordered it. However despite these shorfall’s we would return again in the future. It was a lovely night out in beautiful surroundings.

I never leave reviews but tonight was quite something else. We ordered and live in Holme-On-Spalding-Moor so drove to pick up. We checked the order as last year we got home with one less curry than we had ordered and paid for. We realised we were a naan bread short so had to go back in to get that. Got home and saw we had 2 incorrect meals, so called and asked them to make the right meals and we would come and get them. We were perfectly pleasant even though it meant we were no longer eating together on Christmas eve. They asked us to bring the other food back to which I said was a bit gross as it would have been like approaching an hour since it had been cooked and other than reselling it why would they need it back? When we got back to pick up the correct order they tried to charge us in full for the replacement food and when we said no he said my husband was trying to act like 'a tough man not paying for his food'. I actually can't quite believe how incredibly rude they were after messing up twice already in the order. Won't be eating here again and I never write reviews but frankly they deserve this one.
