Me and my husband stopped here for lunch after visiting the York Bird of Prey Center. The lady who ran the place was so friendly and showed us photos of her owl, we had a delicious toasty each with a cup of tea and coffee which was just what we needed on a chilly day before we continued on our adventure.

What a fantastic find. Lovely tea room with a great selection of cakes to tempt anyone! Bacon and/or sausage butties are amazing. Lovely outside seating area surrounded by various plants and garden ornaments. Many of the plants are for sale which we have taken advantage of. Owners are very friendly and accommodating.

Such a lovely little cafe. Petra, the owner is so accommodating. The tea is served with a traditional tea pot and china cups and saucers which I love. My boys had hot choc, awesome apparently! We all had delicious bacon sandwiches. There is even a little shop that sells local produce, I recommend the jams and chutneys!

Discovered this lovely little tearoom on our walk from Alne. Despite our muddy wet boots we were made welcome and enjoyed tea, coffee, sausage roll and mince pie, all delicious. The prices are very reasonable and the local customers very friendly. Thank you Petra.

We drive out to this little cafe most weeks. Petra is always friendly and welcoming. I love her Yorkshire tea but my favourite thing by far is her cheese and tomato swirlies! The kids are always cross if we go without them! They have hot chocolate and either a piece of cake or brownies. In the winter I love the soup and toast. We usually buy her hand made chutneys as well. Definitely recommend this lovely cafe.

I came here with a family group of 6, we came for a late lunch at 2pm and stayed until 6pm! The majority of us had the Sunday roast of pork loin which was pretty much a traditional roast with a few little twists, such as the carrot purée which was delicious. It came with plentiful vegetables, huge Yorkshire pudding and the most amazing red wine gravy-they gave us large jug of extra gravy! My niece ordered a variety of tapas style dishes which she thoroughly enjoyed. We also had the salted caramel tart with clotted cream ice cream. Plenty of wine was ordered and some mocktails which were delicious. Plenty of choice for vegetarians, vegans and those with dietary requirements. The staff were very friendly, service impeccable and we were not rushed or made to feel we were outstaying our welcome which was great as we had come from London to visit family. I would highly recommend this restaurant and am looking forward to my next visit to try some of their tapas. I thought the prices were very good for the quality of the food.

Under new management in past month: now it's Keith & his Thai wife, whose name wasn't given. Good coffee and both friendly & welcoming. Have not been here before so cannot provide 'then & now' comparison, but think it's certainly worth a visit.
