Nice shop incredibly rude owners

My low rating is because I came with my miniature dachshund and was turned away even though I was holding him. I realise it’s a food shop, but surely exceptions can be made given the need to support local produce and farmers. 30-mins drive wasted, I wouldn’t have bothered if it was clear on the website that dogs were not allowed in the shop.

Lovely cafe. Good selection of food. Friendly waitress. The shop is definitely for treats. Quite expensive but interesting things for gifts/&or special occasions

I visited the shop on Friday. The staff are extremely helpful. I had a discussion with the fishmonger, and he was great at recommending products. He also was explaining why certain fish were not available at this time. I would highly recommend, and it is on my list of shops to visit. The shop had some great products. Highlight the deserts and a couple of pies. Everything I bought was of excellent quality. I will be back very soon like today.

Run by a couple passionate about food, especially their cheese. Love the cafe too!

Excellent meat, for a good price too. The gentleman who runs the butchery let us try some of his wares, and they where exceptional. I will be back!

Lovely place. We had coffee and cakes in the garden, which is in lovely countryside. The coffee was very good. The lemon victoria sponge and coffee and walnut cake were delicious. The staff were so friendly and one lovely lady even brought some treats over for our puppy. We liked it so much, that we're going back for breakfast next time.

The upstairs coffee shop used to be good and maybe it will be again but it is now a franchise and to pay £9.50 for a mini breakfast is quite enough to then find out that the condiments are no longer tracklements but Tesco - poor show

What has happened to Holwood Farm cafe?! Being very local, we used to regularly visit here for coffee or tea and sandwiches. We noticed the menu started changing, seemed more American and pretentious. We thought we'd go back again after a break, it was simply awful - all the wonderful sandwiches they used to do have been whittled down to around 3 or 4 choices. Still very American with pancakes etc. I asked for a "pot" of tea for 2 and one cheese sandwich, we were brought 2 teas in cardboard cups with the milk already in, it looked so milky and quite disgusting - not what we asked for so sent it back asking for our "pot" for 2. Not only did we wait over half an hour for tea and one basic cheese sandwich, but we were charged £13.50 for this "basic" food. I just don't get why Holwood is now trying to be something it is not - so pretentious and unwelcoming now - we will not return.

Farm shop produce looked lovely and could have happily spent a fortune but they refuse cash. A real shame. I will use a card but HATE to be forced into it.

Awful experience shopping here. Was told rudely by the owner to basically not open candle packaging box lid, to see what the small candle would look like. You couldn’t see what the small and regular candle even looked like because it was in the packing. The testers were in a tin packaging!!! Totally different to the one on sale. Shes said it would ruin the packaging. I stated she could have chose not to speak to me like a child and so abruptly. I said I was careful and mindful of opening the packing neatly. I know this as I have my own beauty product packaging business. She was clearly embarrassed at her own behavior because I stated to one of her staff the she was rude. She came charging at me very aggressively stating for me to leave and that’s she’s the owner. I felt racial and age profiled by her. I’ve attached pictures of the candles and a screenshot of the video of her charging behind me. She was clearly in a bad mood prior with a similar experience, but didn’t need to take it out on me. I’m a candle lover and farm shop enthusiast. She’s lost two customers today plus many more. I would not recommend this place. Would give 0 star rating. Will stick to going to Hewitts Farm way nicer experience, we went there straight after and bought loads of fruit and eggs.

What a complete disappointment of a shop, the owner is so rude. No point having a shop if you don’t want people to visit. Only gave one star because would not allow me to give zero stars.

Stumbled across this little gem due to the road closures, and very glad I did. The staff are incredibly friendly. Cute cafe upstairs with lots of choice, overlooking the shop below. Fabulous range of high quality foods in the farm shop - all delicious. Would highly recommend a visit.

Visited this beautiful cafe and farm shop after been recommended on the Nextdoor website we have lived in Orpington for 50 years and didn’t know about this lovely little gem we had a coffee and cake the coffee was perfect it was really hot as well made a nice change. We then visited the farm shop and bought some rib eye steak it was honestly the best steak we have ever had melt in your mouth. We will definitely be visiting there on a regular basis hopefully

Me and my friend popped in to this cafe today for some coffee and cake. I had heard good reviews about it so decided to give it a go! It didnt disappoint. The coffee and cake (chocolate) was delicious and the staff were really nice and attentive. The menu also looked really nice so we will go back again for lunch. Set in lovely countryside you also have the option to sit outside when it is nice weather.

First time we've been here. The breakfast was lovely and the shop downstairs from the cafe is stocked with loads of goodies. Not cheap, but as my Dad always used to say, "You get what you pay for". Great friendly staff......

Had a lovely lunch. Homemade fish cakes were yum and the quiche delish. Our waitress Libby was lovely. We also perused and bought food from the farm shop and fish shop.

Visited here twice and the menu is all fresh and the ingredients good quality. Staff are v friendly and it’s kid friendly aswell; it’s upstairs though so maybe not pram friendly, best to leave those in the car

Great place to pick up local and organic food, their food has a wide variety of gluten free options, this includes the meats/sausages, the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and the meat is delicious, marinades are great and flavoursome.

Absolutely love this beautiful farm shop staff so helpful and informative, had the minted lamb chops for dinner and what can I say other than scrumptious, it is more expensive than a supermarket but you pay for the fresh good quality of the products and judging by today's supermarket standards I would pay more any day, I will definitely recommend, I spent a fair amount today but I got carried away with the new things I was seeing lol but jokes aside it was well worth it and will be delighted to do this again and again, so if you have some spare money and want a special meal go and have a look, thank you to the staff for all there help and knowledge and the bright happy personality, I had a great time x

Do not understand how this cafe is still going, the organisation is shockingly bad. How does it take 20 mins to serve a Black coffee and a slice of cake when all the hot food for the group (who ordered after me) got their items straight away. Your servers really didn't have a clue, sort it out please... every other coffee shop seems to manage pretty well and you weren't exactly busy either!

Lovely cafe. We held a private function there for about 20 people at one end of the cafe and there was enough space without it feeling cramped. The food was good, the prices are reasonable and the vibe was great. Well worth the visit.

This is a lovely Farm shop off of Shire Lane with a Cafe upstairs. Packed with Cheeses meats Pies great Vegetables and much more ! Well worth a visit .

Staff are very friendly and the meat is high quality. We will be shopping there again.

Amazing farm shop with a great cafe

Only just discovered the place but we like what have gotten.

A lovely, upmarket farm shop with such lovely produce and welcoming staff. Really worth a visit! The cafe is lovely, quirly and modern with great views over the shop. My only critisism is that you can be waiting a long time for food, they can take quite a while to get food out to you and some people that arrive after you can get served before somehow. The plates need to be bigger as my wives breakfast came on a small plate like what you would serve a child and you can't eat properly on a tiny plate.

Very expensive and quite a limited stock. I was expecting the cheeses that they show on line but didn't have any of the ones I wanted. All of the Swedes they had were soft and they had no tomatoes, no parsnips and only one or two potatoes. Very disappointed and won't be returning. Stick to Hewitt's Farm, they are far superior!

Tasty roast dinner, roast potatoes were amazing, we loved it. Generous portions. Mum is delighted with her doggie bag for tomorrow!

Service in the restaurant was non existant. After 20 minutes of waiting a gave up.

Not the biggest farm shop but great produce and some interesting items. Good selection of vegetables, fruits, salad leaves, biscuits, pies dairy products and meats! Lovely pot of tea and Victorian sponge cake in the galleried cafe overlooking the food hall. Lots of parking space. Easy to find but bit of a walk if you took public transport. Bus stops outside in one direction but heading to Bromley it’s a 15 minute walk. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend the farm shop to others.

The first time we came here I think june the Victoria sponge we had was amazing, was really tasty and a huge slice! And the coffee too was nice, the service by a young lad was amazing too, unfortunately we thought we would try it again as thought this could may well be our new local coffee spot but the scones we had tasted a but stale! The cream wasnt clotted, no butter offered with scone! And the worst bit coffees not very hot which were brought out to us around 20/30 mins before our scones! By which time we had more or less finished our drinks which ob we wanted together with the scone! What a shame I dont think we will be back!

Nice farm shop - good quality products, lovely looking vegetables. Great little cafe upstairs. Has gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options on offer - for light meals, sandwiches and cakes - some also gluten free.

Very disappointing breakfast, waited a long time and then brought out cold mushrooms, beans forgotten off the plate and then brought out Luke warm. Sausage was also cold. When we told the waiter I was told they just said they can’t be!!! But no offer to change! I also informed the lady that took payment and no offer to at least take some money off, disappointing breakfast and poor customer service.

Amazing fresh produce everything looked so good. Customer service really good. We will be back. Also they have the best fish monger shop everything looked so fresh . We were on a long walk and stumbled across it can't waitvyo go back in the car and stock up.

The new garden area is beautifully done with great views and a brand new cabin style place to order food and beverages. I was shocked at the price of 2 sausage sandwiches and a couple of hot drinks and won't return at those prices any time soon.

Enjoyed seating outside in the shop's cafe and the falafel salad was really good! Good selection of cakes as well. Just a shame only one of them was gluten free though...

The food undercook and sent to the wrong table even though they have numbers on the tables and to add on to that the wait was at least half an hour. The waiters were ok but could use a bit more of their common sense. Will not recommend and will not be visiting again.

Lovey place to go with the family or friends

Excellent lunch of fishcake with salad. Homemade burgers, paninis, sandwiches and soup available. Huge pieces of cake with good selection. Eat in or outside. There are fairly steep stairs to the restaurant from the well stocked but pricey farm shop. No cash payments..set afternoon tea available.

Had afternoon tea here today…delicious…and so much food…took some home with us. All washed down with tea, coffee and Prosecco. Then went shopping in their shop. Lovely, friendly staff as always 😊

Nothing to rave about! Nice little place abit pricey!

Had to wait over half an hour for soup, and then it wasn't the one I ordered! Feel we should have been told there was to be a significant delay when we ordered if there was a problem. We had to chase our order twice. Other customers who came in after us were being served before us. We hadn't planned that we would be at the cafe 1.5 hours for a simple lunch.

This is the black pudding I bought on Friday 3rd December, I was told it was in date, surprise, surprise it was out of date… just the rest of the meat I purchased on that day… they should close up shop before they make someone seriously ill or worse if they are selling out of date meat, makes you wonder how they handle the food…

Went in there Friday, bought some black pudding, sausages, steak, beef rib, and chicken. Chicken was dated use by 6/12/21, took out the packaging this morning smelt off, the short beef ribs was also off with a use by date of 8/12/21 cooked the chicken even though it smelt bad this morning 5/12/21… Tasted it nearly threw up, I will happily add pictures later on to prove this isnt a fake review. I believe they are using out of date meat, repackaging it and sticking a new date on… stay clear if you don’t want to get ill with salmonella or other disease… wasted my money here won’t be returning… The chicken smelt like rancid rotten fish, it all had to be thrown Also keeping this for record incase I do become ill and can take action against this business

Not much of a farm shop. Almost no fresh produce at all just standard pre-packaged supermarket stuff.

Wouldn't go there again! Food was not great. Rice was not freshly made. Not catered towards all taste buds with variety of sauces. The meat counter assistant was not using gloves while handling meat and used the same hands to go on the computer, printer and other meats!! Plenty of cross contamination going on.

Visited the cafe which to my mind was rather overpriced. The sandwiches are served in 'pappy' cheap supermarket bread without any garnish, and at £5.95, I would expect, at least, fresh bakers bread. The sauce was served in a plastic bottle and wasn't 'brown ' as requested but 'bbq'. I feel in today's environment, sachets would be more hygenic. Service was slow and all in all not very welcoming. After being shown to a table and asking if it was waitress service we had to gain the attention of a member of staff to give our order despite a couple of them walking around clearly not having anything to do. This is such a shame, as the building is a stunning vaulted barn which could be utilised to provide a wonderful dining experience. I also think the lighting could be improved. Not sure why cheap amateur painting were for sale on the walls either?

Four of us had delicious all day brealfasts

Beautiful little farm shop and cafe tucked away with ample outdoor seating and great views. Only went to the outdoor cafe so can’t comment on the rest, but there was a wide selection of local drinks and the food was nice if not slightly small portions. Cakes were delicious! Service was a bit slow as there weren’t many staff, but didn’t really affect our enjoyment.

Visited today for first time for a very long time. Would now rate as 4 stars as it has a far better and wider range of stock than when I visited previously previously. Would describe it as a deli rather than a farm shop though. Perhaps on the more expensive side of the pricing scale for its products..

Popped by for tea and cake in the new garden area with my mum and it was lovely. Great set up and it's a little more peaceful than other places as they don't have a kids playground so you can just have some chill time. The girls working there were so kind and friendly and the cake was excellent!

Food is good but the atmosphere is well.....odd. Greeted outdoors in the car park by a full face visored employee asserting that masks must be worn set the tone. Inside it looked like the young staff are in some kind of pandemic induced fear standing back wearing masks behind high screens and unhappily watching and watching customers with fixed unsmiling faces Nerves were almost audibly jangling. I think this lot needs to calm down. Also, there really is nothing particularly fresh and local being sold here and it seems unlikely that the shop is connected to a farm. All a bit odd.

I didn't visit the shop as I find it overpriced. However I had a very nice lunch at the cafe that was also reasonably priced in lovely surroundings if sitting outside.
