The girls inside were very polite but at the same gossiping between themselves indiscreetly. We picked take away. Didn’t wait long. However, the sweet and sour was glow in the dark type of ridiculous, tasteless non food. The rice just tasted weird. The chow main leaking oil, etc. It all went to the bin. Pleasant enough place but do not recommend the food if you’re looking for edible.

Service on phone good. Delivered on time but all the food we ordered was lukewarm and didn’t taste nice at all. Very poor The Crispy duck wasn’t crispy at all. The other food order was soggy and the wantons were inedible. Will not be going back

I have only ever used this for takeaways when visiting my Father. I was a little hesitant to use for eating in due to some of the reviews, but we had a really lovely meal last Saturday. The food was fresh and expertly cooked. I would prefer my curry sauce to be a little less thick but that's personal taste. The waitress/host was superb. So polite and friendly.

Great priced Chinese food, the go to in seaton for Chinese

If you like Chinese food, eat here. I instantly had flashbacks to China and Singapore and that distinct taste that comes from real knowledge and craft and precise ingredient choices. We had a set meal for two, which was more like a banquet! Decided to add on a soup and so glad we did. It was impeccable. Thick and full of chicken and flavour. The sweet and sour chicken was the best I have had in a long time, beating some from expensive London restaurants. Service was impeccable, friendly and welcoming. A classic decor inside welcomed the experienced diner and made us feel nostalgic and added to the experience. Vegetables were cooked to perfection, sauces delicious and full of flavour. Would definitely eat here again.

Very nice takeaway. Tasty sweet and sour chicken balls, Special fried rice was really nice and chicken noodles was the probably the best we have had.

Been to this place several times now, went again last weekend with some friends, food was good, staff really friendly. I've always enjoyed going to this restaurant and willingly supported them and recommended them to others. Unfortunately I won't be attending again soon the prices have gone through the roof and some dishes I would say were twice as expensive to other similar restaurants. we paid over 10 pounds for mushroom rice, and the same for a small Wong Tong soup. The increase from our last visit was shocking and no justification for it, hugely overpriced in my opinion. Real shame as we enjoyed visiting whenever we were in the area.

For our final night in Axmouth we thought we’d have a takeaway from Hong Kong which is located a hop, skip and a jump up the road. We made a wrong choice. We had chicken with cashew nuts which was probably the worst dish I’ve ever seen, after a quick sample that went straight in the bin, it tasted slimy and the chicken looked raw. Chicken with green peppers in black bean sauce was ok, chicken chow mein was passable, king prawn chow mein also passable, fried rice ok, Singapore fried rice tasted of curry powder, king prawn balls were ok. All in all a bit of a disaster. Cost £48 which would have been very reasonable but not when the food was poor.

Delivered exactly when promised. However, the food was inedible. The beef in chilli sauce was appalling, beef was unidentifiable and the sauce was bland. The chicken dish we ordered was bland and looked raw, the ribs too were flavourless. The only redeeming item was the rice, which really is hard to get wrong. Family of 4 reduced to having cereal for dinner because this expensive order was the biggest disappointment.

I ordered a course meal. It was good value for money and delicious. The attitude of the staff was very friendly and we had a good time.

Have visited this place many times before, and have had some very good meals. The last visit was not so good, my Granddaughter ordered a prawn dish, and found that they were raw. The server was very apologetic and offered an alternative. This was declined because you immediately were put off your food. The food my wife and I had was ok, but not exceptional for the price. We ordered meat egg rolls which were just batter. This visit has put us off Chinese for a while.

We have had takeaway multiple times in the past 6 months and we have always been happy with the quality and delivery serve.

Take Away service good and they will deliver.Food ok and the service was first class. However ,place needs smartening up outside with the weeds giving it a scruffy appearance.A coat of paint too would be nice.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the WORST Chinese food I have ever had! Insipid, mushy and tasteless (apart from the harsh flavour of malt vinegar). Only went here because Yeung’s House was closed. Would have rather gone hungry!

A wonderful meal in lovely surroundings. The service was great food totally 10/10. We visited this restaurant a good while ago and the food and service was 10/10 but the restaurant itself was a bit tired but it has recently been modernised and decorated. I have to say we couldn’t fault the place…. Well worth a visit.

If I could no stars I would , the food is disgusting and both me and my partner are starving after a long drive down for our honeymoon and we rather starve then take another bite ... least to say the chicken in no way tasted like chicken🤢🤢 It was mega expensive ,same order would normal cost £10-£15 at our local Chinese and it cost us £30 How this place is open is beyond me 😵

Really lovely meal at this little restaurant. The food was lovely and the welcome was warm. It's very small and busy with takeaway orders but thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was way more yummy than we expected and would definitely go back. The only draw back is that it's a little bit pricey for small portions.

The food is out of this world. Its honestly the nicest Chinese food I've ever tasted and the front of house staff were fantastic and welcoming even though we arrived quite late. Highly recommended.

If you like Chinese lovely food and they look after you top notch

We came across this Chinese restaurant last night while walking back from the beach, it was completely empty but that didn't stop us from ordering, we ended up ordering takeaway and took it back to our hotel. The staff member who served us was lovely and approachable and the food was great, we couldn't fault it! My young kids loved it too.

Sorry to be negative but it was so salty we couldn't actually eat it. Which was a shame as the ingredients looked very good quality

Delicious takeawy especially the vegetable chow mein, squid, spring rolls and crispy seaweed. Had this as a very cosy takeaway with friends, I definitely recommend!

A small restaurant with a Chinese atmosphere. There were 6 of us and had to order with my granddaughter being vegan. We had a variety of dishes, and each one was very tasty, lots of clean plates. The staff were excellent, and the cost great value for money. Will be a must for me when visiting Seaton.

Some of the nicest Chinese food I’ve ever had. So fresh and flavoursome. A little pricey compared to some restaurants but worth it due to quality.

Food was very nice here, the prices however are a different story! Same order as a local takeaway that usually comes to around £35-£40 was £90 here........ Sadly wouldn't recommend for the price, unless you've got money to burn.

We should of realised when we walked in how no one was in there having a meal or ordering food but we didn’t and had a awful takeaway from there chicken chow mien was so greasy it slid of the fork the chicken smelled disgusting the black bean sauce was like water the only thing that got feed tonite was the dustbin what a totally waste of money

We were hesitant ordering due to the mixed reviews but we’re so surprised it exceeded our expectations. I ordered the Hong Kong style chicken sweet and sour with egg fried rice, my partner had the black bean beef with egg fried rice and we both really enjoyed the food. Very friendly staff member took our order and the price is reasonable. We would definitely recommend. Thank you so much.

We had a lovely experience at this restaurant today. We had a takeaway, and the food was amazing! The service was excellent, and staff were very friendly. The food was reasonably priced, and we got free prawn crackers and fortune cookies for the kids too! We will definitely go back, next time we visit Seaton.

Food was cold on delivery chicken over cooked beef was chewey generally not good

Food was very good but the service left a lot to be desired. Poor atmosphere and cheap plastic table cloths.

We had a takeaway which was generally very good - reasonable prices and good quality. Staff were friendly and helpful. The special fried rice was a meal in itself, with large pieces of meat and prawns. Just one point of criticism - the batter on the prawn balls was a little under-cooked on the inside. Overall great value.

We were staying at the Axmouth Camping and Caravan site for a few days and noticed this restaurant while walking to Seaton. Having decided to try it, we were very pleased. The staff were very welcoming, seating us, serving some good and well-priced wine and agreeing helpfully to a small change to a set menu to make it more suitable for us. This was all done pleasantly and with no fuss. The food was really very good. Starters were very nice and the 3 mains plus rice were all absolutely excellent. Very good quality Chinese food, tasty and well-presented . This is not a large or particularly “posh” restaurant but it provided great food and drinks in pleasant surroundings for a price which I felt was very good value. Thanks to all at Honk Kong for a nice evening. I’d recommend it highly.

Wife taken ill and immobile. Panic was we needed to eat. Chose Hong Kong for takeout because wife did not want much. Selected battered king prawns for her and I had hot and sour soup yung chow fried rice and chicken chow mein. Service quick food delicious and panic over. Thank you Hong Kong. Paul Williams

Food not very good but friendly staff

We ate again here this week returning back to Seaton for our holiday. We were all again very impressed with the taste of the food and the lovely staff who are always very welcoming. We come here everytime we stay at the hotel opposite. And always look forward to our meals here :)))

Tasteless and bland. The crispy shredded beef was a very strange purple/pink colour.

Literally just popped in one evening as we didn't want to cook. Food was good and staff very friendly.

This was our first visit to the Hong Kong Chinese restaurant, we were passing and stopped on the off chance they would have space, and they fitted us in no problem. It has the usual Chinese restaurant decor, pretty in a kitsch way. Unassuming and helpful staff, led to an unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere, some 90’s pop tunes playing unobtrusively in the background. We enjoyed this very much, starting with the special mixed hors d'oeuvres for two, the seaweed especially was chunkier than our usual takeaway back home, and we enjoyed it immensely. Presented nicely, no peanut sauce on the satay, but it had a good flavour and didn’t need it. For the mains we had sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, mixed veg and crispy chilli beef with coconut egg fried rice. Well what an absolute pleasure. The sweet and sour had a vinegar undertone and the usual sweet flavour but not overly sweet and was cooked fresh and very delicious. The mixed veg had a slight crunch and the crispy chilly beef, had a different sauce again, but the batter was light crispy and melted in your mouth. Portion sizes were just right, maybe a touch smaller than some Chinese restaurants I’ve been to, but we’re were pleased with this, we didn’t feel too full afterwards and might have been able to comfortably fit in a dessert, and will do that next time we visit. The coconut egg friend rice was really good too, very aromatic. The only negative was the size of the drinks, my mineral water glass was half the size of my partners coke and it would have been nice to have had a proper glass full. Just a minor niggle. Reasonably priced nonetheless, £48 for the whole meal. I’d definitely recommend, and we will be going back. We really enjoyed the flavours, I haven’t had such a tasty and flavourful fresh Chinese like this for a long time. Again the crispy chilli beef was so light and crispy it will be hard to beat and highly recommended.

Family came down Good Friday for a one night stay. They decided on Chinese takeout. These are their comments: Far better quality than back home, you get big portions,, really tasty, staff were helpful and friendly. So we were happy, they were happy. Hong Kong in Seaton is a great Chinese restaurant and take out, with fair prices, kind staff and really nice food.

I used to really enjoy my food from here but the last couple of times it was horrible. It all tasted like it was cooked in very old oil and it he pancake rolls were so greasy that I ended up throwing them away. I wonder if it’s changed owners lately?

We ate in the restaurant as a large party on the first Sunday of January and had an amazing meal. The food was beautifully cooked and served along with excellent attentive service. This was a great location for us as very close to our hotel. We can't wait to return and dine in again!!

We dropped in this evening never having eaten here before. Lovely welcome and at table by the 2 young ladies doing service. The sweet and sour battered chicken had the largest portion we have ever seen! The house special chow mein was tasty and best of all were the side dish vegetables - really nice. All in all great experience, good value, really enjoyed the experience, thank you.

I ordered sweet and sour chicken balls as a while you wait order. i had only just paid when the friendly staff appeared with my order - too quick I thought to be freshly cooked. Anyway I drove 8 miles back to where I was staying so too far to return them. They were still piping hot and a huge portion - about 7 or 8 huge balls but immediately I bit into one the batter slid off the chicken to reveal a slimy undercooked batter coating the chicken. I scraped off the batter and ate 3 pieces as I was hungry but threw the rest away. What a waste. Chef please less haste and ensure the batter is cooked. The 2 staff were friendly.

The greatest squid ever! I'll come back again just for the squid haha. Review edited came back for squid again and it wasn't great what a shame.

Fantastic food, had egg Foo yung, it was to die for... Will defo go again.

I was a little dubious after reading some of the bad reviews, but a combination of the close proximity to our campsite (Axmouth Caravan and Camping) being on foot and the good reviews meant we gave it a try and we were glad we did. All in all a very reasonable Chinese meal, which we ate on a bench on the front as the sun set behind us. We had the mixed starter, Singapore noodles, Hong Kong sweet and sour chicken, crispy chilli beef and complimentary prawn crackers. The mixed starter was very good, although the satay chicken was a little salty. The Singapore noodles were very tasty, a little hot for my girlfriend's liking but I thoroughly enjoyed them. Contrary to other review(s) the crispy chilli beef was indeed crispy, but in contrast to the Singapore noodles had very little heat and were maybe a little lacking in flavour. The Hong Kong sweet and sour chicken was exactly what I would expect but I would've liked a little more pineapple, but that's probably just personal preference. I'd say definitely worth a visit.

Great takeaway, food tasty and price very reasonable.

Really looking forward to having a takeaway after having one last September which was excellent. This time - awful! 4 of us spent £90 on food that was very poor. The squid rings like deep fried day old rubber bands, chilli beef doused in what appeared to be cranberry sauce. The duck pancakes were OK, but difficult to mess them up really. As for the rest, bland, over priced and poorly cooked and prepared. Won’t be so eager to come back again
