Hong Kong Take away in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We use this takeaway 3-4 times a month and have done so for several years.Always excellent quality and tasty meals.You will not be disappointed.

The meal was not up to your usual standard, I was very disappointed. The Chinese chili chips were not cooked sufficiently and the salt and chili chicken was very chewy, it all went in the bin

Sadly used for the first time last night. £30 for 2 of us and have to say tasteless. Beef chewy. Disappointing when you save for a treat.

Ordered a meal this evening, stated no sauce on chicken balls as it was for children to share, picked up meals with the side order of three portion of chips, when we got to car we realised chips were lukewarm, we live close by, chips were cold and soggy, chicken balls covered in unpleasant sauce, other meals only lukewarm. Only half the meals eaten the rest chucked in bin with rubbish. When 20 minutes later we talked about it and we phoned to complain owner was rude, stated we would have to take food out of household bin and bring it back to takeaway, when I explained it was mixed in with household rubbish, he said go through it and sort it bring bits back bits of food, we said this was unsanitary and he said tuff no refund. Avoid this place, rude owner, poor food and expensive.

If you are in Cornwall and want a quick meal try the Hong Kong takeaway. It offers a quick service and you can phone an order in and a very good choice of food.

Busy, but can phone in order. usual range of food. I have always enjoyed my order. I love the chicken and cashew nuts, and chicken balls.

The benchmark dish of any takeaway! The addition of beef was new and unexpected from our local fare of house specials which traditionally do the chicken and char siu pork on rice or noodles and chop sui veg, finished with BBQ sauce. Chop suey gravy was good but not great hence 4/5. Still worth a punt if your passing and hungry but better house specials are out there!

Worst Chinese we have ever had. Rave reports written by the owners. Cold food, all a bit gray in colour. Tasteless, need I go on. Also expensive. They do not take cards, cash only Parking difficult. Good fish & chip shop adjacent.

Never had a bad meal, always hot, great portion sizes, very good price, very quick service and lovely staff!

The food was cold. We live 5 mins away.The order was wrong.We had a very upset boy who didn’t get chow mien he ordered. He only,eats chow mien. So we had to make him a meal.Some new year treat.My duck was just fat and there was other meat that was unrecognisable.My daughter has been poorly today.Won’t go there again

On my own this evening so decided on a take away. Very nice Chinese and the chow mien was nice and not greasy at all as sometimes it can be, lovely Chinese chips and a spicy curry sauce was ideal. Service was quick and polite

We always have a Chinese meal when we visit St. Ives we normally go to the Bamboo Kitchen so imagine our surprise when we discovered it was now selling smoothies and changed its name. Bang opposite is the Hong Kong Kitchen(never our favourite) so we didn’t know what to expect. Well all was good, I did think it was a bit cheeky asking us for an extra 50p for making our spicy chips spicier (50p for a touch of chilli, really). Everything else was good. Noodles Rice sweet and sour Hong Kong style, the prawn crackers are a bit tasteless you know the cheaper ones... but over all 4*

First choice when cooking for ourselves seems too much hassle. Always quick to cook. Consistent quality

We called here on our first night in the cottage we were renting, after a long journey we did not fancy cooking. The food is lovely and tasty, and plenty of it. While we were waiting the local people just kept coming in and the telephone never stopped. We went back for another takeaway mid week and it was just as good as the first. The lady who takes the orders is very polite and did not mind waiting as we made up our minds.

I had noodles and it was like chewing cardboard.

This is a top rate Chinese take-away. We travel from Falmouth as it beats our local ones hands down.

We've this takeaway frequently when we're visiting family in Threemilestone. The food is always good, I cannot recollect having a bad dish, ever. Having such a great Chinese takeaway in the village is superb, it saves all the hassle of fighting your way down into Truro.

My partner and I decided on residing to the Hong Kong Take away for a succulent meal. Instead we were met with a strange shadowy figure. So instead of a nice meal, my partner was kidnapped and smuggled to Hong Kong. I guess it does live up to its name. Three stars.

Can't fault the food. Lovely Chinese takeaway and very efficient service. Telephoned the order in and the food was ready at the time advised.

A good place for a takeaway, satisfying and as we hope a Chinese to be. Shame about the lack of availability for payment by card as we had a big order.

La comida era deliciosa, señora de contador muy amable, rápido de cocinar. No tan caliente como me hubiera gustado, pero no una cena fría por cualquier extensión y tuvimos que volver a casa con él (a Tregavethen). No excesivamente salados como algunos para llevar chino, sabroso y hacían el trabajo de proporcionar un rápido té para una familia era grandecillo en vacaciones. Sin duda regresaría.

Convenient local take-away but food only acceptable compared with others have been to. Was visiting relative who uses here regularly. Pancake rolls and chicken balls rather soggy. Prawn crackers very tasty though. Would use again only because they are on the doorstep of relative.

Great local takeaway, located in smallish village but better than most in the city, great prices and a menu that might take you hours. (if it's not on the menu ask!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Been here several times since moving to the area, service and food always good. I would recommend this traditional Chinese takeaway to anyone.

I have been going to this takeaway for over 10 years (when in town a few years ago). The best Chinese food I have ever tasted - clean and fresh tasting. I would not go anywhere else. Really nice family run business. I have never disliked a single dish. Hong Kong house is the safest bet around.

Simply the best Chinese take away meals in the Area. Have already returned and tried different choices. All were really good flavours and we'll prepared.

This is the only chinese take away where I have found the food to be consistant in it's quality and taste. I am dissapointed at the bad reviews because I am very particular with my food!! We live a 2 minute walk from another chinese take away yet each time we get in the car to go to Threemilestone. The meat is well cooked and good quality the sauces are tasty and fresh. I can't speak personally about the customer service but I know my husband gets along well with the management. Are people mistaking non confident English speaking with poor customer service? Anyway we have bought from here since they opened and would never consider getting chinese from anywhere else. Also - prawn crackers - still crispy and lush even the next day!! Everywhere else they go soggy and grim!!!

I understand there's a language barrier but if you're going to hand money over someone don't look disgusted by it!!! went twice and two different ladies served me, both with the same rudeness. i now go elsewhere!!!

They close early on a regular basis if they don't feel like staying open! Unreliable, better options around that deliver..Quite rude on the phone and in person too. Shame.

I go to this Chinese once a week and have been enjoying this families Chinese cooking for about 25 years!!! Lovely varied menu although I tend to stick to my favourites have enjoyed everything I have eaten here. Everybody local knows this is the best Chinese for miles! My only regret is when they go on holiday I miss the food so much. Cannot fault this takeaway and will always be coming back for more!

LIving in the village of Threemilestone we have been regular customers since they have opened! The food is great however if your going to take my money, give me a smile, a please, thank you and just something more general than as if I'm annoying you by giving you money to your business! The young woman is always polite and friendly, but the man on the desk is rude, arrogant and severely lacks customer service skills! Keep him in the back out of people's way! This is not a one off. It's constant! I have now ripped up the menu and will choose to give my money to a more friendly place!

Have been going to this takeaway maybe 2---3 times a month since February never disappointed. The old takeaway which I was a regular for 25 years changed Hands and went rapidly down hill, tried others around town but not as good, really disappointing. HOWEVER, in February I found out that old Chinese takeaway had moved premises and changed the name but the food is still of the same excellent quality as before HOORAY, friends and family love this takeaway too. Would recommend this takeaway to anybody staff are great and friendly, only difference in this takeaway restaurant is they take cash only. Well done Hong Kong takeaway.

Ordered over the phone on a Saturday night and was able to collect piping hot delicious food for 8 of us in just 10-15 mins! Spot on.

I was in truro for a month with work, I found the best quality chinese take out I have ever had, I would recommend this place to anyone!<br />And don't for get to try the chilli & salt chips!!!!!<br />mind expandingI have eaten here 6 times in one month
