He estado yendo aquí durante los últimos 10 años, y pasé buenos momentos y buena comida, pero todo terminó, y cuando estuve el otro día me dijeron que no abrirían después de Navidad. Esta es una institución de Crouch End y no sé a dónde iré en enero, o qué será del café probablemente otra tienda de caridad. : (

Almorcé antes, pero esta vez comí la ensalada de queso de cabra con la jalea mediana de pimiento picante al lado y no me decepcionó como siempre, seguido de un capuchino con chocolate molido en la parte superior ... Deliciosa, absolutamente increíble comida y servicio de Anna y el equipo Gracias <3 ; )

La comida que se sirve aquí es la mejor de todas! Yo y mi amigo no podemos tener suficiente. . Seguimos regresando por algo de su deliciosa comida deliciosa? y gran personal amable. .

Pedimos dos emparedados de jalea de pimiento picante. La camarera nos preguntó qué gelatina de pimiento picante nos gustaría. Suave, medio o caliente. Optamos por uno suave y uno mediano, ya que esta es nuestra elección habitual. Cuando llegaron los emparedados, el mediano estaba mucho más caliente de lo normal. Pedimos que se los llevara ya que la gelatina estaba demasiado caliente para comerla. La camarera nos dijo que otros clientes le habían mencionado que la gelatina mediana estaba mucho más caliente que lo habitual. Pagamos en su totalidad. Luego sugerí cortésmente que la próxima vez que alguien ordene un sándwich de gelatina de pimiento picante, podría mencionar que este lote particular hecho en casa está más caliente de lo normal. Su respuesta fue grosera y cortante. No volveremos y nos aseguraremos de que nuestros clientes estén conscientes de que el café ha ido cuesta abajo.

This is our go-to girls brunch spot! The staff are always friendly & attentive no matter how busy it is - and it's often packed. The meals are DELICIOUS and there's a brilliant range of offerings at really reasonable price. Such a gem to the area, we love it so much here :) We'v been going for years & will go for years to come

A truly lovely and unusual cafe in a nice location. They have a great range of choices for breakfast and lunch but I did really love their full English! Though I'm sure I will be back to try more. Very pleasant eating experience!

Have been meaning to come here for a while, and so glad I did today! Great range of choice, including vegan and vegetarian, absolute top quality food at reasonable prices! Matcha Chai was beautiful and the home made beans are insane! Not forgetting the hot pepper jelly itself. Will Defo return! 😆

All-day breakfast is fresh, delicious and with generous portions. The menu also comprises other homely fare, such as toasted sandwiches, jacket potatoes with tasty fillings, and attractively presented salads and other veggie or vegan dishes. The coffee tastes good too. And service with a smile is a vital ingredient in an enjoyable experience.

Found this by chance. Lovely "different" veggie as well as standard Fayre. BUT doesn't take cards........Recommend

I was pleased to see that the bacon that came with the American pancakes were cooked until crisp, the pancakes were a nice thickness and the portion size was more than enough. As good as they were, I did feel that the price was high for what it was.

When you want a good fry-up, come here. End of review. Ok, a bit more: They make their own baked beans, which are much nicer than what you get in the can. The staff are bubbly and attentive. They do great pancakes if you want to just keep eating post-full English. It's great value for money. It's cosy and you can always get a seat. I always leave satisfied.

It's a little hidden cafe in the heart of Crouch End. Delicious blueberry pancakes, breakfast and salmon stack, nice coffee and real leaf tea is served all day. Friendly staff. It gets very busy at weekends! It's worth a visit on a quieter weekday, too 😉

Friendly personal service with a limited menu but the quality is superb, would highly recommend this little gem

Soy un gran amante de la pimienta caliente y bastante mermelada regular. Su desayuno vegetariano, es genial. Sin embargo, el último par de veces siento que los estándares han decrecido, el servicio no es muy simpático/slick (quizás es la recogida) y días que he tenido que enviar sucio, vajilla y cubiertos de vuelta un par de veces. Como nuevos lugares (y bastante bueno) mantener la apertura en la zona conserve el nivel, chicos! Te queremos!

Fuimos allí para el desayuno - increíblemente bastante vacío, usualmente no molestes ya es a menudo lleno. Tuve el desayuno inglés Inglés y refrescante, una taza de té que no estaba hecha con bolsas de té. La comida estaba bien hecha, sin grasa en el lugar. No es el más barato de los precios, pero no demasiado caro. Buena selección de opciones diferentes, incluyendo tortitas de estilo americano que mi esposa. Sin embargo, los propietarios deben considerar entrar en el siglo XXI y permitir pagos electrónicos. Creo que ahora se puede afectar su popularidad. Sin duda no era escaso en comida de calidad.

Realmente deliciosa comida y ambiente encantador relajado. Mi lugar para ir y brunch. Personal amable, también!

We had the full English breakfast and it was absolutely superb. Homemade hash browns! Beautiful! Obviously very popular place offering great value for money - I'll be going again next time we visit Crouch End!

Came here again today and the food, as always, is absolutely delicious and cooked with passion and care. Wide range of food and lovely home-made cakes available and very friendly staff.Best cafe in Crouch End!

We have been coming to Hot Pepper Jelly for well over a decade. The food is generally good and the Hot Pepper Jelly sandwich is delicious. However, we have decided not to bother again. It has been going down hill for awhile now but our recent experience was ridiculous. We were kept waiting for ages, the place looks decidedly scruffy and needs a good clean and decoration. My Hot Pepper Jelly sandwich was OK but my partner's ciabatta sandwich disappointing and overpriced. Crouch End is full of lovely coffee places and cafes and we have been loyal to this one through the expansion but sadly it is no longer worth it.

We used to come here pretty regularly over the past few years but hadn't been for quite some time, maybe 18 months or more. Were quite surprised to see free tables as it used to be really busy with people waiting to be seated.The old folder / booklet menus which used to contain loads of interesting items were gone, things have to change and develop of course, have been replaced by a much more scaled down version although there seemed to be some staples still there; homemade hash browns and beans always worth a go!Our main issue was around value / quality and the subsequent argumentative and quite frankly unacceptable service. One of us ordered a sausage sandwich at £3.50 and was quite surprised by the paltry amount of sausage once it arrived. We tried to question the waitress as to if this was a normal amount and were told indeed it was, you get one and half sausages! We started to enter into a discussion which soon turned into an argument with the waitress asking us 'well how much would expect to pay for it?!' in quite a curt manner. My partner wouldn't stand for such poor service or understanding so got up to leave and I followed.I have to say I was even more surprised to see said waitress informing other customers of our issue and essentially blaming us for being unhappy as we were leaving.Used to be semi regular customers here; would we go back? Sadly now, never.With such a wide variety of places offering breakfast and brunches we'd be going else where. Just as we did this morning and enjoyed a more interesting menu, better value and without question more freidnly service.Such a shame for what used to be one of our favourite places in Crouch End.

We've been to this cozy little cafe in Crouch end a few times and have never been disappointed. The English breakfast is fantastic, the coffee is great and the smoothies are tasty. The american breakfast with pancakes and maple syrup, fried banana and bacon is also worth a try. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. Give this place a go.

Unpretentious, charming, traditional and above all friendly. The staff were very friendly and attentive but over the top. The cafe has a charm to it that many modern cafes try to emulate but never quite pull off. The food was just shy of perfect (homemade bread would have perfected it). I had a vegetarian breakfast that came with halloumi, homemade beans and hash browns. Made even more special when I added the namesake Hot Pepper Jelly. My daughters American breakfast with maple syrup covered bacon and pancakes looked amazing as did my wifes full English. Earl Grey served leaf style in a pot had me wanting to stay all day sat in the window, writing a book and watching the world pass by.Can wait for a return visit to try out the cakes.

I can still remember it now! A great little eatery, very friendly and the food is great. Discount with a Crouch End Card.
