We had a delicious afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco. There was Plenty of food and the scones were the best ever. The cakes were also yummy. We would definitely go back.

We had a wonderful afternoon tea at Huffkins. The staff were all lovely and welcoming. The sandwiches were delicious and we loved the addition of the dressed salad. The scones were warm and the desserts were great too. There was so much we took some of the desserts home for a treat later. We will definitely be back.

Finally my revisit to Huffkins was a delight after a poor experience last year. Now it's clean, with smiling helpful staff, fully crewed and stocked with loads of choice. Great efficient table service in the cute pink grey setting Well done to the management and staff for turning this place around positively, it's lovely

I went to Huffkins with my daughter for lunch, we weren’t able to order food on line, I went up to the counter and was totally ignored by the male staff member, in the end I had to ask if anyone was serving as me and another customer were being ignored by two members of staff. When he finally acknowledged us we were met by a huge bad attitude and he was clearly annoyed we dared to be expected to be served. The food was terrible and staff were worse, wouldn’t come back again!!!

We visited on a Saturday afternoon for a treat and rest from shopping. What a disappointment. No one to greet just a sign saying sit anywhere. All tables stacked with dirty crockery and crumbs. No staff on the floor whilst we waited to get our table cleared. No table service just a QR code by phone or stressed girl at the counter. Oh and 3pm but they'd run out of almost all the cakes. We left immediately. I was so excited when this place opened but service quality and cleanliness have disappeared. It's meant to be a nice treat of a place but is failing. Huffkins should withdraw their name

I arrived today with my friend, for afternoon tea, the whole experience was terrible. We arrived and all the free tables were dirty. When I ordered the afternoon tea for two the lady at the till told me and my friend we had to order the same drink. She didn’t know what was included in the afternoon tea so I had to remind her that sandwiches were included and she snapped at me when she wanted clarification over what type of scone we wanted. We refused to order and walked out when she got annoyed at me for asking what the selection of sandwiches were. We asked a different member of staff to get a manager and we were told there wasn’t one. It was the worse experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant; unclean, unhelpful and rude staff.

I had high expectations as the Huffkins website was good. However, having ordered a BLA (bacon, avocado & leaves) and a cheese and ham toastie when they arrived they were on very ordinary, and soft (not in a nice way) granary bread (the website advertises "our own home baked artisan bread), very very little filling and the sandwiches were not even buttered so very dry. When I asked about this I was told that "we don't butter our sandwiches" ... I thought buttering a sandwich before you put the filling in was normal. I paid £25.95 for two sandwiches and two coffees which I think is extortionate!! On the positive side the staff were pleasant and brought me butter for my sandwiches ... however, I'm afraid I will not be returning.

Waited 30 minutes for brunch when told there was a 10 minutes wait. Food arrived and was cold. Complained and complaint was handled fine we had a refund, but the food and service experience was extremely poor. Also worth saying that we saw one of the staff picking up a scone by hand ( no tongs) for another order hygiene?

I was looking forward to trying Huffkins so I took my wife and sister for lunch. The place is nice enough but the food ws poor. My wife and sister both had the a toasted cheese and ham sandwich - my wife asked if she could have a slice or two of tomato as well only to be told no they don't have tomatos! Her comment on the sandwich wasn't positive.I had the sausage roll special which was dreadful. A misserable skinny dried out sausage on an inedible bun with a tiny pot of tomato relish. And not cheap! Kingston has plenty of great resturants - this isn't one of them!

We came to Hufkins because we thought it was a notch above the John Lewis cafe. What a mistake. We arrived at the counter. No one was there. When someone turned up they told us to wait. We were not offered a table or menu. My wife took a table and I went up to order. No menu, so no idea of the of the cost. We ordered a pastie, a pesto swirl, and an apple juice . What a surprise. Over £20. I went back to check the prices. A pastie was £8.50, with a tiny salad and a few crisps. Well, then the pastie was awful, no chunks of steak, or chopped vegetables, just a slurry of minced meat and some sort of vegetables. My wife’s pesto swirl was tasteless. This is not what I expect from a John Lewis franchise. The staff were lovely, but basically had no idea. I know its a tough environment at the time, but you have to do significantly better.

Great to stop off here for a coffee and there is a great selection of cakes and pastries BUT I agree with the previous review about the CLASSIC Welsh Rabbit! Lava-hot cheese floating on bread, not toast. It was OK but can’t really be described as CWR so a bit disappointing Window seats are lovely with a good view over the shopping area and you can get a good look at the architectural features of Bentalls opposite.

The cafe is very pleasant and roomy with good decor and ambience. I ordered an americano and ‘Classic Rarebit’. This is how it’s described on the menu: “The Classic Rarebit £10.95 melting mature Cheddar, Dijon mustard, on toasted granary served bubbling hot from the oven, with a honey mustard salad garnish and our spicy tomato and caramelised onion house chutney” The truth is very different. This is two slices of (very tasty) bread, cut in half and laid in a shallow bowl. They are covered in a (very tasty) mustardy, cheese sauce. So far, so good. However, the ‘oven’ it emerges from bubbling hot can only be a microwave and if the bread was toasted it doesn’t look nor taste like it. If there is no grill available PLEASE don’t attempt to make rarebit which is, when all is said and done cheese on TOAST!

Visited for lunch on a quiet Friday - tables hadn’t really been cleared so had to move crockery onto another table so we could sit down. Ordered via the app - a pot of tea and an oat milk iced coffee, sausage roll and a pasty. The service was so slow and the young man who served us was not interested in the slightest. I’m not sure if he was new to the job as he seemed very confused as to what he was serving! When the food finally appeared it really was not up to a good standard - sausage roll was poor quality and barely warm - my son’s pasty was again lukewarm and not particularly good quality. The small salad on the side was drowned in vinaigrette. All in all not a great experience and given the many eateries in Kingston would not come here again

A lot of Very rude male staff. not a kid friendly place to stay. Front desk male staff who assisted checking out had a know-it-all atittude. Big male staff wearing coat in the dining hall was loud, strong and unkind to my kid. Even threatened to put my kid in a dark room. The waiter during the wedding we attended banged the wine bottle on our table for no reason. All female staff were kind and nice. Very POOR Customer service from MALE STAFF. Place was very nice but because of the experience from the staff and big man wearing coat our stay became a nightmare.
