Out for a walk & popped in & booked a table for Sunday lunch. Great service, pipping hot food & plenty of gravy. Lovely food at a reasonable price.

Always nice staff, nice food. Always best to book as small downstairs, there is an upstairs but never been up there. Dog friendly. Plenty of choice on menu, been for breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea.

Been on holiday for a week we never had one decent meal so we were dreaming of humbles Sunday lunch so got one wow it never fails to hit the spot Mr Mrs fiddes thank-you

Called in for Sunday lunch without a reservation. I was seated in the window with gorgeous views and people watching. The vibe is very chilled out and didn’t feel rushed at all I could have sat there all day. Sunday lunch. Absolutely superb. Came with an extra pot of gravy and plenty extra veg.

Can highly recommend visiting Humbles for afternoon tea. All of the staff were professional with a polite and friendly manner.

We got lost in Durham trying to find somewhere to park our van. Went to Seaham instead and visited Humbles. What a lovely café, thoughtful, friendly & efficient staff. Great food too. We were there fairly late in the day as a family group of 10. Can thoroughly recommend. Thank you everyone. 👌

Having had a long walk and feeling cold we went into this little cafe for a quick coffee, and we weren’t disappointed. Two nicely made lattes and a homemade lemon cheesecake.

Good food and location best points. Food hot and well presented and a varied choice.Great telephone manner on table booking.

We called in after a 3hr drive right in the middle of the lunchtime rush. A lovely lady (possibly the owner) still managed to find us a table upstairs. Service was quick despite the rush and the food was lovely. My partner ordered his lunch with chips and wow, these were great, more like chunks of soft centred crispy roast potatoes, lovely. Will definitely come back when we visit again

We've recently moved to County Durham & went over to Seaham for the day, we passed Humbles on the main seafront walk after visiting the Tommy statue. After receiving a warm welcome, we went upstairs - we were so impressed with the lovely decor & organised presentation. We had the chicken BLT & bacon, brie & cranberry toasties - every ingredient was super fresh, good quality & tasted gorgeous! We will definitely be back & would highly recommend 👌

Friendly staff, we hadn't booked and they were very busy but place was found for us. My wife happened to notice the Sunday Lunch offer on the back of the menu - we were sitting so close under the specials board that we hadn't seen it. Excellent choice. Good beef slices and a spectacular variety and quantity of vegetables. The price was good too. Humbles deserves to be busy.

I last left a review about Humbles on Google 4 years ago. I just wanted to update but you can only have one review about the same establishment on Google. My wife and I go to Seaham a few times a year and we always go to Humbles. It doesn't change! It's always lovely! The owner had a day off yesterday but the staff were still great. Very friendly and attentive. We had a charming young lady who looked after us. The only change for us is that after 45 years of vegetarianism I have now lapsed (that's another story). This gave me an opportunity to try the whole menu. It's all produced in house and it's great. I had the Lasagne and my wife had the fish and chips. Super taste and excellent value. I would have liked to have tried the apple pie, but I couldn't eat any more! Warm chocolate fudge appeared on the other side of the table and that was well received!

Went here for lunch and had the Steak Pie and the Chicken Burger. The food was nice but there was hardly any pastry on the pie and the chicken burger came with normal chips even though it was supposed to come with sweet potato chips. The pastry and the chips weren't big issues and we cleared out plates. When the waitress came to clear out plates and asked if everything was ok we said yes but I did mention that the burger had come with the wrong chips. She apologised and said she would tell them in the kitchen. I saw her tell the owner who just laughed obviousley not realising I could see her. The food is overpriced for what you get and we wont go again because of the owners bad attitude. The young lady who served us was lovely.

Staff were really friendly and didn't have a long wait for food. Served what I can only describe as proper home-cooked chips (aka very good chips!) which I love! I had the chicken goujons, with other family members having lasagne. Portions were big and well priced! Will definitely be back (hopefully to see the cherry blossom decorated wall upstairs next time)!

I visited here at the weekend with my mum and Grandma. We booked a table and I'm glad we did! The place was extremely busy which just shows how exceptional it is. We all ordered lunch and drinks and even had room for a cake too, although I'm not sure how as the portions are extremely generous and delicious! All the staff were very friendly and the service was good. I would definitely recommend visiting here, just make sure you book!

What a lovely cafe a real gem in Seaham, called in for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday great food and service on both days we will be back when we return to Seaham

Lovely little spot for a relaxing lunch. We received a warm welcome, with excellent service. The food was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. This bistro is situated really conveniently opposite a free car park. You just need to be patient and wait for people to return to their cars which they do frequently.

Called in by Chance on Sunday. Very busy but squeezed us in. 1 Chicken Lunch and 1 Beef Sandwich and Chips. Both excellent. Stand and service were exceptional. Will be returning in the near future. Thank you to everyone...

Ignorant staff as they were busy outside as it’s the food festival expensive dinner £13 for three meats just means u get less of the one meat and filthy child’s chair. Not surprised it’s quiet during a very busy festival

Another fabulous breakfast for myself and two friends. Always happy to head here when on our weekend breaks. Highly recommended, suggest you book also as it's very popular.

First time visit for lunch. Fish and chips , fish goujons and chips, child's chicken goujons and chips, absolutely beautiful. Staff serving us couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Also had the pleasure of meeting the chef who was lovely and who obviously took great pride in his excellent cooking and loved his job. 5***** all round. Will definitely be back.

Just visited Humbles whilst in Seaham, went in for lunch and was not disappointed, I had the hot beef sandwich & chips (best home made chips, like roast potatoes) and the wife had tuna, red onion jacket potato (lovely side salad) both meals were excellent and so tasty so much so we treated ourselves to dessert, fruit scone and Lemon cheesecake, again both were delicious, the service was superb from start to finish, highly recommend 👍

Returned for a first indoor visit after lockdown lifted. Was very impressed!Upstairs has been totally renovated and looks amazing! Great interior design giving a lovely vibe!Love businesses who have taken lockdown as an opportunity to refurb and move forward.Service was quick and attentive and although we just popped in for a snack and hot drinks the food was lovely!Highly recommend here and support local independent businesses

Amazing takeaway Sunday lunch. Veg lovely and fresh and the spring cabbage was amazing. Meat cooked so well it just melts in your mouth. Homemade Yorkshire pudding and the gravy has loads of bit of meat floating in it! This place never fails to deliver and we can’t wait for June to come so we can eat in again x

Called in for a late lunch at humbles noy many people in but service was quick and staff were friendly and nothing was to much trouble I had the fish and chips and the portions were more than enough finished off with a dessert and coffee, I would visit here again and would recommend humbles

A nice cafe on the sea front. Serves a choice of hot and cold meals and snacks. Also provides afternoon teas. Very friendly. All Covid 19 restrictions in place .

Just popped in on chance, had to queue but very glad that we did. Very friendly and efficient staff and the food was very tasty. Managed to find some space for a dessert. We did take advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out, but would love to visit again.

Humbles offers brilliant service from really friendly staff. Breakfast was finishing but the lovely lady had a quick check with the kitchen and said it was OK for us to order. We sat outside on a really warm bank holiday Monday and enjoyed a Bacon & sausage sandwich as well as a Bacon & egg sandwich. Both were lovely. We also had a really nice coffee each. Really happy we visited Humbles and would return again.

Nice views, friendly staff and accommodating, food was OK not worth what we paid for. Scrambled egg would be nicer if butter was used. but overall acceptable.

Dropped in for a coffee and cake and had a scone. Lovely scones and coffee and plenty of filling which is always where places serving scones go wrong!

Nice, little friendly cafe that provides no nonsence, good home cooking. Good selection on menu from home made corned-beef pie to a variety of fish dishes. Chips are excellent as are the good helpings. Nice staff to look after you.

A lovely pleasant restaurant situated on the seafront, I had the pleasure of a filling full english which was very tasty, washed down with a pot of tea .my daughter also enjoyed egg muffin with hollandaise sauce .they prepared a breakfast bun for her partner who was under the weather and stopped home .I definitely would visit again as my daughter paid .......

My wife and i popped in for a meal as we had heard good reviews , we both chose the steak pie with chunky chips and mushy peas, the chips were just like mini roast potatoes , the food is simply beautiful, staff very pleasant indeed and the venue is spotless

Had a great Christmas Day dinner at Humble’s with the family. All 3 courses were delicious and a good selection of drinks available as well. Thanks to all the staff for their cheerful service making it a most enjoyable day out.

We have been going here for the last year for Sunday lunch, it is the best you can get, food is top notch, with good service, and they always accommodate you.

The staff and food are great. Getting a table can sometimes be an issue but you can pre-book. During the summer it can get stupid hot inside and the place most definitely would benefit from air conditioning.

6 of us booked and the meal was great,polite and efficient service......can get really busy so it pays to book ahead. No complaints food wise, limited choice of beers

Myself and my husband visited humbles today, I have been lots and lots of times for different occasions, and I have never ever been disappointed, it was my husbands 1st visit and he was not disappointed, he had fish and chips I had chicken goujons and chips as always it was beautiful, staff are wonderful, always a great atmosphere and nothing is a bother, can’t wait for our next visit

I thought I would try a beef Sunday dinner as I've been trying to find a good one locally for a while. I phoned up and collected my dinner and must say it was Outstanding. The meat and veggies are cooked to perfection .Overall the quality was great ( Mash to die for ) and well priced. I'll be going again that's for sure.

Had an amazing lunch at Humbles recently, the yorkie wrap off the specials was gorgeous and something you could only get in the north!

We were at Humbles for our daughter's 50th birthday. The ambiance was fabulous as was the food. The service was excellent. We were not the only party upstairs and the downstairs was fully booked. We would recommend you pre-book for lunch and dinner.

Whilst having a stroll along the seafront we stopped off for a cuppa at this lovely little coffee shop.

Visited after a bracing walk along the seafront at Seaham, have walked past it before but decided to give it a try this time, a GOOD choice! Yes it can be a little crowded but I always view this as a sign of a popular eatery, definitely nor disappointed, wonderful food & very friendly staff. The menu while basic is good honest home cooked food, literally it seemed, the chips were plentiful, well cooked & piping hot, the Steak Pie was delicious & the meat literally melted in the mouth, my wife's Chicken Goujons were also cooked to perfection. Will definitely visit again when in Seaham & may even try one of their Bisto Nights,excellent value for money.

A very nice sandwich and coffee served by friendly staff.downstairs was a little crowded. Will try upstairs next time.

Excellent Sunday lunch at Humbles, quick service and excellent food, the only down side is paying £2.25 for a can of coke put on the table with a glass. (no ice or lemon).

Enjoyed our visit to Humble’s on Saturday night we all had steaks cooked to our liking and the mussels starter went down well along with the beetroot & goats cheese Finished off with cocktails service as always friendly

Looked for this place whilst in Seaham as had seen something on youtube about afternoon tea with fish and chips. We wanted to give it a go as sounded different. We were not disappointed it was lovely and very quirky. Really good price too. Overall a very lovely place to eat. They also do sandwiches, panini's ect but would highly recommend the fish&chips; afternoon tea as it was beautiful!

This is a great spot to people watch, drink delicious coffee and enjoy proper home cooked food. We stopped here for a bite to eat on a very rainy day in Seaham and had a delicious lunch. The staff are very welcoming and the service was friendly and quick. I had a sweet chilli chicken panini and my friend had a fish finger sandwich, both were very tasty. There was a good choice on the menu and enough options to suit everyone, alcohol is available and there’s also menus for cream teas. Definite recommend

The best coffee shop in seaham food is always fabulous. Staff always very polite. Very clean . Upstairs as well as down .

Lovely early lunch today for beardy and myself. Service was brilliant and got sat very quickly. Looked through the menu and I settled on the Cajun chicken wrap. Beardy decided on the fish finger sandwich. Mine came with chips and side salad and Beardy’s came with chips and mushy peas. Beardy commented that the fish was lovely and fresh. Also mentioned that his chips were some of the best he’s ever had. My Cajun chicken wrap was lovely, just the right amount of spice! Loved loved loved it and the bill came in at £21.45, which also included a couple of drinks! Very reasonable! Really need to try their Sunday lunch xxx

First visit today and awful , food was over priced , chicken Cesar salad was not a Cesar salad full of onion , tomato , peppers and god noes what else no Cesar salad ingredients at all

Two of my friends celebrated their 70th birthdays recently. Having seen the “seaside tea” delivered to a nearby table while I was having coffee with a friend, I decided that’s what I’d book. So ... on successive Wednesdays, I booked my friends’ birthday treats. On both occasions, they were blown away! The food, the service, the atmosphere were just perfect. They hadn’t been to Humbles before but will certainly return. Thank you. ❤️

Myself and my partner visited Humbles for afternoon tea on 21/06/2019 at 12PM. My partner is a seaham local and had raved about this place for nearly our whole relationship, insisting we just had to try the afternoon tea. Unfortunately the built up anticipation led to a severe disappointment.

We have visited Humbles since it opened. Unfortunately our last couple of visits have been well below the standard it used to be. Not the same quality food and the smell of frying downstairs. We wont be rushing back.

I go here with friends for a natter regularly. The staff are lovely and friendly and the food is good too. I always look forward to going back. Love the cake selection.

If you are visiting Seaham and want superb food with great choice and good value then it has to be humbles. Tonys chicken caeser salad with a side bowl of naughty chips are the stuff of legend.

Popped in on the spur of the moment, just the two of us. Table cleaned and ready quickly. Lovely refreshing summer specials menu and wide selection on the main menu.

From start to finish,fantastic.Called in for lunch looked full but told to call back in 10 minutes and true to her word we had a table.Great choice on menu for such a small place not only that,good value and DELICIOUS right across the board .

This is my go to restaurant for lunch in Seaham. Every meal is mouth watering. Great selection on the menu and the home made chips are delicious! Great service as alway. The best place to eat in Seaham.

We have been to humbles quite a few times and never had any problems. Sunday lunch is very good sevice is good plenty of vegetables. Pleasant helpfull staff we will certainly be going back.

I have eaten here a number of times in the past but my last visit was disappointing. The ordered a pannini which looked as though a streak of chilli sauce had been put onto the base and a few pieces of ready prepared chicken you can purchase from a supermarket ,no taste. The fries were over cooked and tea weak. The staff were pleasant. I won't be going back in a hurry

Oh my gosh totally fabulous, when we made the booking we asked for specific sandwiches which we were given on lovely soft white bread once we had eaten those it was on to the large scone jam and clotted cream by this point my mam was full but I’m not one to give in and next there was 6 yes 6 proper cream cakes not bite size which a lot of afternoon teas pass off as a cake I managed 2 and what was left the lovely waitress gave us boxes to take home . My daughter also came with us but she doesn’t like fresh cream ( really ) so no afternoon tea for her she chose a barbecue chicken panini and hot chocolate which she said was lush . I can definitely recommend humbles to anyone infact when I got home I rang up and booked another tea for myself and best friend .

Booked into humbles for Sunday lunch after hearing great things, me and my family were certainly not disappointed they accommodated my large party of nine comfortably. Myself and two of my family members are vegan so I rang ahead to see what options they had available as not many restaurants have anything vegan. I was pleasantly surprised that I spoke to the chef who reassured me they would accommodate me and my parties food choices.

Disappointing vegetarian Sunday lunch. The location is a pure gem, however the setting is very cramped inside.

Went for lunch today and there were 6 of us. We needed a table downstairs as two of the party couldn't manage the stairs, they went out of their way to accommodate us. The food was brilliant and the service could not be faulted. I would recommend it to everyone.

We took out our mother for her lunch with the grandchildren. There is seating downstairs and upstairs. When it is sunny or school holidays book ahead. Very generous portions and crisp batter on fish. Great mushy peas. Gammon and eggs were fantastic. They are renowned for their chips which are verging on roasties. Really lovely staff and a happy mum.

Tried the new A La Carte menu tonight had the starters and steaks all 4 meals cooked to order great bottle Sauvignon blanc with the meal and cocktails to finish thanks to all at Humble’s great night again.

Had a late lunch here yesterday, on first entering the decor looked a little tired, as was the well worn menu cards, however the welcome seemed genuinely warm and friendly, and the service and food was prompt! Good choice of food, speedily served, good portions, hot and appetising, reasonable charges, nothing to complain about here!!! Will recommend and will return, we’ll done!

Me and my wife decided to go today for a treat for my 31st birthday. I called and booked a table for 2 and went down at 1345. Very friendly greeting and sat down. We had the fish special for 2 which was £22.95. It came with 6 goujons which are big, hand cut chips, bread, butter, tarter sauce and some cakes. All of it was excellent and fresh. We couldn’t manage it all so took the cakes home but looking forward to having them later. Only thing would be to ask for 2 pots of tarter sauce cuz one isn’t enough between 2 people. Anyway toilets were clean and so was the whole place. Highly recommend this place.

Whilst walking along the seafront at Seaham we fancied a little refresh and as my Wife had been told about this little Cafe we decided to give it a go,once through the door we noticed it had an upstairs room as well so no need to be put off if looking full downstairs.

My friend & I stumbled across this little bistro. Such a wonderful little find. Great selection of food from breakfast menu, lite bites, main meals, sandwiches, afternoon teas & a specials board, we were spoilt for choice.

Quick visit for a coffee and a scone to get out of the freezing cold. Delicious with plenty of friendly staff working and quick service. Loved it! Thank you x

Came here for sunday lunch but wasnt really happy as the sunday dinner was luke warm i ate it as i was hungry but looking back i should have asked them to replace it or heat it up.We were in and out in 20mins also not enough veg.

Andrea and her excellent team still maintain the high standard in this great eatery. If you have not tried Chef Tonys secret recipe chips, you need to go and do so.

My family treat me for my birthday to afternoon tea. Sandwiches ,scones and cakes so very fresh.....huge portions....brought some home. . .. bit manic as they were so busy had to wait for our pre booked table...but worth it.would recommend to anyone for any occasion. Well done Humbles

We were out shopping and looking for somewhere to grab a sandwich and a cuppa. As we where already in Seaham we decided to try Humbles.

My family and I were looking for somewhere to eat in Seaham and definitely made the right choice. The food was amazing- and completely unexpected for, what seemed, simple dishes on the menu. The gammon was proper thick cut gammon, rather than a thin slice. The chips were amazing! All members of my party were blown away by the food.

Called in for a lunchtime sandwich and drink. White bread was a little dry, but my big glass of pino grigio was generous and excellent! Super value at £8.00.

We were out for an early morning drive along the seafront in Seaham and decided to pop into Humbles for some breakfast. We were not disappointed. The staff were super friendly and the breakfasts were amazing. We will definitely be back.

My first visit to HUMBLES SEAHAM . I had heard the name HUMBLES several times over the past years and by all reports it was good and I thought ' oh maybe '

We visited at lunch-time on a busy Bank Holiday Saturday, without a booking, and they just managed to squeeze us in. I don't normally opt for steak pie, but I'd seen the reviews here and decided to give it a try. It was fantastic: large chunks of succulent slow-cooked beef and great chunky chips. Highly recommended.

We went for the lads birthdays this month for the Tapas night and once again it was nothing short of amazing! The guys had tapas while the wives had steaks - sirloin and a rib eye. The guys couldn’t finish their tapas between them - the over riding favourite being the dates wrapped in chorizo. While our steaks were cooked to perfection- chunky chips and peppercorn sauce that had a lovely little kick to it. The trio of desserts just tipped us over the edge and for the princely sum of just £16.95 each it’s an absolute bargain - will we be back again? Hell yeah - the dates already in the diary.!!

We have visited this little gem we had the Tapas menu enjoyed every morsel I ate a third hubby two thirds ample food good selection piping hot served with a smile the staff are happy pleasant nothing a bother Tony the chef comes out at end of night nice touch we like the fact them menu changes we also pop in day time for coffee snack but always leave very satisfied do try you won't be disappointed love it x
