Il Pirata in Tower Hamlets

We used to visit this restaurant under it's old management. Now we discovered how good il Pirata is we will certainly be back. Huge portions, very friendly, warm service - we certainly could have stayed all day on a cold wet Sunday. Food and wine delicious and well priced.

I've been here a few times since it opened and the food is always delicious and great value - the pasta in particular is some of the best I've had in London. The service is always fantastic and the staff really go out of their way to make you feel special. I highly recommend!

I have been to Il Pirata quite regularly since it re-opened, it is a fantastic place to go with your partner or with friends and very good value. My partner and I had the wild boar parpadele and the seafood linguine. Both were absolutely exquisite, but the boar just pipped it for me. The service is really professional - attentive and charming without being over-bearing, which can be a fine balance to strike. I love coming here and hope it gets the recognition it deserves so I can come for many more years!

I recently came to this restaurant and was very impressed. The food was delicious. I would even go as far as to say that this is the best pizza that I have ever had. The overall experience was good from the staff to the location. I will definitely be coming back.

Our first visit to this restaurant on Saturday and it wont be our last ! Delicious food and although a small wine menu there was some nice wines on there The muscles were some of the best my wife has ever tasted and the crab ravioli was excellent Service was fantastic and Hugo looked after us really well...thanks Would easily have been 5 stars but it was a very quiet night ( not normal I understand ) when we went in and therefore lacked a little atmosphere. No doubt as word gets around this will change Thanks for a lovely night guys

This is a lovely restaurant - I've been a few times and tried a couple of different things, all of which have been delicious. They're always really helpful and nice, and knowledgeable and attentive to dietary requirements. They don't have many vegan options on the menu but they were eager to help and asked me what kind of dish I wanted and then made it to order! Definitely an underappreciated Italian in Wapping - a must-try :)

I been on this restaurant few times and i had great experience, nice service and staff, after dinner they offered a limoncello. I was there recently and it seemed to me that I was neglected. the food was not made with care and after paying we were leaving nobody noticed us. Totally different from our previous experience.

Stopped in for Sunday lunch after a walk along the river. Food was absolutely terrific. Stuffed mushrooms to start were amazing, followed up with the lasagne and a perfect tiramisu to finish off. Very attentive service, super friendly, could not have been better. We will certainly be back!!

My husband and I moved to Wapping around October 2019 and since then we have been consistently visiting this restaurant once a week. Great pasta dish choices and the quality of their dishes are consistently good. Staff are friendly and the ambience is good. Tried most of their seafood and pasta dishes. Price is very reasonable given the portion is generous. Highly recommend the following pasta dishes: - king prawn linguine - clams linguine - crab ravioli (off the menu, but no problem ordering it whenever we ask) - scallops linguine (sometimes on their special menu) - Wild boar pappardelle (a bit on the rich side, but if you are hungry, that's your dish) For their fish dishes, sea bream and sea bass are nice, although sometimes I prefer them not to put any sauce to the dish and just grill them as both fish is oily enough and their original fish oil is the best sauce. Ask them to grill the fish without any sauce, I am sure they can do it as they are generally very accommodating. Also house red is reasonable (Sangiovese) and easy to drink. Prosecco (white) is good too. Great place for family/couple/business dinner.

We have been several times in Il Pirata since we live locally. The staff is friendly and professional, the food is of good quality, generous in portions and lovely made. Pizza, pasta or daily specials, all is good. Furthermore, it's a very good price. Highly recommended!!!

I was been a few week ago in Pirati restaurant with my friends to get a dinner, so basically the service was good but the quality not fresh. So we got a seafood and the dessert but the smell was orrible, actually not fresh. I don't suggest a nobody to book something in this restaurant.

We are regular visitors to Il Pirata and are always impressed by the quality of the food. The recent addition of SUNDAY LUNCH is very welcome as well. A special mention must be made for the staff- they are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and are particularly accommodating to young children. The food is excellent, the portions are generous and the surroundings are very friendly- it is a restaurant definitely worth visiting.

Found this hidden gem on line within walking distance of where we were staying in Wapping. I had fillet steak cooked to perfection and my fiancé had the most amazing pizza. We both had a large glass of wine too and the bill was just over £50, which we thought was great value for London - all staff were extremely friendly, great atmosphere in the restaurant too, would highly recommend 😊

Beat pizza I have tasted in ages. Delightful service, good food and comfortable surroundings. Thoroughly recommend the place.

Only ventured by as using the free parking on a Sunday to visit st Katherine dock , what a lucky find as restaurant was worryingly empty (usually a bad sign ) we took advice from a couple leaving and had such a lovely lunch ....

Excellent friendly service. Very good food. Sensibly priced. A different more relaxed vibe to its predecessor. I was sceptical having been a regular at the restaurant previously at this site. However, having visited Il Pirata all reservations were overcome.

Visited London for my wife’s 60th birthday and ate our way through the city. Found Il Pirata near the Tower Bridge with friends and wow! Amazing food, good service and nice location. Highly recommend!!!
