All lovely staff and very delicious food! I especially love the black bean dishes, the Singapore chow mein and satay sauce. The cooks are very friendly and welcoming. 10/10 recommend going here

The most wonderful Chinese takeaway. My family and I have recently moved to Tetbury and we heard great things about this takeaway and so we tried it for my birthday. It exceeded our expectations!. The food was superb..... absolutely delicious and served piping hot. Really good value for money and portions plentiful. We shall certainly return. The family run takeaway was magical.

I do not like that this takeaway business pushes to receive cash only for the orders. When you ring they say ' Cash only'. You can pay by bank transfer bit they ain't push that. I am nit saying thus company is fiddling their revenue to the tax nan, when people are encouraged to pay by cash it makes you suspicious. I urge thus company ti start taking cards, I might consider alerting g thus company to HMRC. However the food us very good and the people are friendly. But that is not the whole point. All their customers work hard and gave take deducted at source from their wages, so it leaves a question mark that thus company may not be paying enough tax.

If we could give a 0 we would. Ordered chicken balls. Absolutely disgusting. We went back and told the grubby dirty little man that we would not pay. We waited and refund finally give. Just 2 questions. Do you really believe that what we were served was even edible?. Secondly have you had a wash this year because it certainly looked and smelt as though you have not. Place should be fumigated before it is closed down. Tomorrow we visit environmental health. Absolutely disgusting.

Below average takeaway, salt and chilli chicken was so dry and chips were also dry and tasteless, would not return

Average “chinese” food. Some dishes were better than other ones. If you’re around and you’re craving some chinese this place is for you but don’t expect anything special. We ordered in for takeaway. Cards are not accepted in the shop although you can make quick bank transfer. A little dodgy but, hey, everyone is trying to protect their business from greedy taxman. Well done. We will probably pop in again while in Tetbury. Ps We were farting 2 days like crazy after this meal 😅

Since moving to the area about 4 years ago, we’ve regularly used Imperial Chinese. We’ve sampled a broad variety of dishes and everything we’ve tried has been very well prepared, with flavoursome meat and fresh-tasting vegetables. The service has also been very consistent, with no mistakes for any of the orders made by telephone.

First time eating here. I have bbq ribs and they were 10/10 the curry was the best iv had in a long time! Chow mein was very tasty.. so happy to finally have found a good Chinese. Highly recommend.

This place is amazing! We have been going there for 8 years now and have never been disappointed. Food is fantastic. All meat is lean and there is plenty of it in all dishes. Prices are very good too. Food is hot when collected.

Wish I'd known this delightful takeaway existed! Bought our dinner here and thought how delicious it was! We used to have to travel to Royal Wootton Bassett to get a decent Chinese Takeaway - but now we will drive to Tetbury which is nearer!

We had an order for four people and all of us really enjoyed our meal. The beef in black bean sauce is the best I have had.

Sadly two very bland watery dishes..... good tofu texture but absolutely no flavour to either of my orders. No hint of seasoning ginger/garlic. Very disappointed (Mushroom Chop Suey £6.30 and Beancurd with Bamboo shoots and Chinese Mushrooms £6.00) Everything was very soft and soggy I've only ever known bamboo shoots to have a bit of bight and for £12.30 I sadly won't be returning any time soon 😢

Sweet and sour ribs and chicken satay to die for the chow mein a little bland but other than that it’s great

I went there last night and am going back today! We don’t eat meat so tried two of the tofu options. Really good, especially the satay. Both the sauce and tofu had a nice texture. Spring rolls were good too - should have ordered double. Fairly new to the area and chose this place as it has tofu, some of the ones closer only have mixed vegetables which is a bit boring. Thank you!

My first visit to the Imperial Chinese restaurant in Tetbury was pleasant. The food seemed fresh and cooked to order. The second visit, however, was very different. The crispy seaweed was undercooked and utterly inedible to start with, and then we found a long black hair, definitely not ours. Not the worst thing to happen so we continued eating. Then my partner chewed on a large chunk of duck bone in our vegetable chow mein (we don't eat meat) as I found another large black hair. This justified returning our food to the restaurant. We were met by an angry man who I believe to be the owner/chef. He did not care about what we'd just experienced at all and when told about the duck bone almost breaking my partner's tooth he shouted "Well go to the dentist then!" I understand that this is a family business and I'd usually refrain from making a fuss under those circumstances but having £7 angrily thrust at us (barely a quarter of the cost of the meal) is not an acceptable recompense for the shortfalling and sign of sheer lack of caution when preparing food. 10/10 would not recommend

Sadly disappointing. First tried this take away 12 years ago and it was inedible and so made the mistake of thinking it may have improved - it hasn't. I wouldn't give it a star but you have to!

A below average Chinese which benefits from no competition. Noodles were good, other meals were very stodgy.

This place benefits from being the only Chinese Takeaway in the village so is expensive, small portions and meals are just mediocre. The meals don't include rice / or chips either like they do where I'm from - up north! The interior is also in dire need of a refurb and tidy up.

Very disappointed! I have just arrived home and when to start eating, surprise…. I have ordered chow mien with chicken,but there was not even a tiny piece of chicken at all! Besides, the noodles were smoked and burnt! I do not recommend and obviously I will never ever try it again!

By far the best Chinese takeaway near to Stroud. Not your everyday greasy tasteless slop you get from other chinese takeaways in the Gloucestershire area!

This place can't even make noodles, you can do better and making them yourself at home; why waste the money. The spring rolls(mini) did not have any filling, when I called and spoke with the manager/owner, he told me, " well I don't make them fresh, I buy them deep freeze from a wholesaler. The fried rice was fluffy, overcooked with no chinese flavor at all. I called the takeaway and I asked for a refund, he told me if I ate some of the food I could not return it. We dump the food in the bin and lost £21

Excellent place for vegans. Tofu fresh and delicious. Recommend salt and pepper tofu and mapo vegan version and of course the wonderful vegetarian large pancake rolls

Ella se bajó del teléfono y le dije: "¡No telefoneé porque pensé que obtendría un mejor servicio si entrara! ”, Ella ni siquiera respondió o se disculpó.

The food was tasty with nice flavours, but not greasy. Veg dishes tasted fresh, but rice a bit sticky. Would definitely recommend. (It's a take-away, no seating.)

Since it's been taken over, it has saved me from driving miles to get a decent Chinese meal. Consistently good.

Love a Chinese takeaway and we weren’t disappointed by this one! Beef with black bean was a winner and mixed balls with sweet and sour sauce were best for a while! If you in and around this area go nowhere else for your Chinese :)

A good no frills chinese. Had crispy shredded chilli beef, szechuan pork, mixed sweet and sour balls, egg fried rice. All very tasry. Stayed hot on 10 minute drive home

This is probably one the best Chinese takeaway places i have been to. I go for the Singapore rice noodles and spring rolls almost every time, and love going back for more. The food is really tasty, and doesn't taste as oily as so many other Chinese restaurants i have been to.

It is exactly what it looks like, a provincial town chinese takeaway. Run by lovely people who are always pleasant to deal with, the food arrives as quickly as you might hope and it good quality chinese/english takeaway. Its a guilty pleasure for us.

I stopped near by and thought "why not try these people" So glad I did, that I went twice! Really nice food! Monday was quite and they was very quick doing our food. Sweet and sour chicken balls 9/10 Kung Po chicken 9/10 Thai curry with veg 9.5/10 Egg fried rice 9/10 Next time we changed the Kung Po for honey and black pepper chicken, hubby said "wish they had this at my local Chinese" 10/10!

I often stay in Tetbudy and I enjoy ordering a take away from this Chinese to seek for a relaxing evening in my room in front of a TV with my Chinese take away. Like many other Chinese take aways, they offer a wide range of European oriented Chinese food and they are reasonably priced, in comparison to the pub food from the local hotels. If you fancy a quick bite to eat, I recomment to go there. Quick service.

Having contacted the restaurant during the previous week to check if my plans were feasible, we arranged to place a large order, giving the restaurant five hours notice. The service we had from all the staff was excellent. The food was available at exactly the pre-arranged time and was found to be of a high standard. Everyone made comment about how tasty and enjoyable the meal was and I would have no hesitation about recommending this restaurant. I will definitely use it if I am staying in the area again. The staff were extremely friendly and very professional.

Wonderful food and service, these guys are the business and I love them. Prawn crackers to die for and the spare ribs taste like the ones I have in the best Chinese in London . The main man was called Lee and despite his bad cold he was super super . As Lee would say " you want best, you shop the best, you know want then you not get" wise words indeed

El Imperial es un bog para llevar chino estándar; nada diferente a lo que encontraría en su promedio de pequeña ciudad. Lo que me gusta el Imperial es que es sólo eso.. estándar. A diferencia de la mayoría de los otros restaurantes en Tetbury no es pretencioso. Es lo que es y la comida es muy, muy bueno. No gusta cocinar después del trabajo acabado y decidimos coger una toma de distancia de el Imperial. No te molestes en llamar a mi orden en, elegir en vez de decidir cuando llegué allí. Pedí un curry de gambas, pidiendo que se hizo más caliente de lo normal, y huevo frito con arroz. En poco tiempo tuve mi comida y estaba en mi camino de vuelta a casa. Las raciones eran bastante grandes y fue una comida muy sabrosa. Yo recomendaría este para llevar y volveré. El menú es muy amplio.

El chino ofrece una buena selección en el menú y los precios son razonables. La comida puede ser inconsistente (satay puede ser estaban aguados/gruesas a veces o en algún lugar en el centro. La miel y la salsa de pimienta platos negras son una agradable variación. En general, no dejará pasmado, pero si lo que quieres es un restaurante chino y no quieres viajar muy lejos está "bien".

We use the Tetbury Chinese Takeaway probably once a fortnight when we just fancy something easy when we've had a long day. It's good. Over the years this takeaway has had it's ups and downs but the present proprietors are doing a great job. Thank you. You'll not know 'til you try it.

Excellent food marred by slow service. I think they could do with some more staff. The beef and green peppers in black bean sauce was really excellent.

After some of the reviews we were slightly reluctant but decided to give it a try! actually pretty good food, stuck to the basics of special fried rice, roast pork chow mein, chips and sweet and sour sauce. the only issue was the chips were undercooked, everything else was lovely - would definitely order again

As a Tetbury local I tend to go to this place quite often. I tend to stick to what I know. I have to say the sweet and sour chicken is good, so is the chicken fried rice. I did make the mistake of ordering chicken chow mein once and I wouldn't do that again. Very greasy and not overly hot. It's not the best Chinese, but having said that it's better than the one in the next town over! They don't accept card still which is a real pain but they do get your order ready quickly.

Me and my partner regularly order from the Chinese, the chicken balls and special fried rice is delicious! I'd say it's a pretty good takeaway overall!

Had a takeaway on the 5th may. Order 10 mins late. My wife had chicken fu yung. It was a horrible grey colour and very dry. Noodles where greasy and cold. My chicken curry was like a black sauce and fried rice was sticky and unappetising. Won't be returning !!

OK chinese - only one in town that we could find. Long wait but food OK when it eventually came. Prices about average.

Good Chinese food, far better quality than the next nearest in Malmesbury. Mixed hor dourves give best bang for your buck, Crispy chilli beef is excellent.
