Awful service no care In food over seasoned crap

Not as good as Indian street food but better than many street food restaurants in Leicester and a good vibe.

Down in Leicester we come for a meal. Really nice food clean tidy shop. Great food big variety and very polite customer service. Big plates and a lot of food.

Walked in for a chicken tikka wrap. Ordered was told a 15-20 min wait. No problems would rather wait for fresh food. Got home 3 minute walk to eat a stone cold chicken wrap. Not sure what they were doing for 20 minutes

The chicken was really good, but took a bit long

I've ordered from indian rooster twice and non veg is OK but veg food is terrible no taste and so bland. Stick to Melton road for good food

food delivered in a car stone cold. last week delivered on a bike it was red hot. phoned restaurant asking if I want a refund but I wanted my food I pre ordered hours ago due to be at work. in the end had to get dressed and drive to the restaurant too collect my food I paid delivery for as they was unwilling to deliver it. I think the food was cooked early and stood waiting awhile for the delivery driver to collect the food and deliver it.

Navish and Moksh served me very well. Navish was very kind and warm. She gave me a bag of salad because I love salad. I eat salad with everything every meal. The place was very nice and clean. And food was reasonable price. Thanks guys looking forward to coming again.

The service, food, and ambiance were all excellent. The staff noticed that we might not be able to finish our meal and proactively asked if we needed containers for takeout when delivering our dishes. The dining area was clean. Most importantly, the food was worth it. This time we ordered Chicken Hakka noodles and Chicken fried rice; the sides and meat portions were generous, and the seasoning was layered. It was a wonderful dining experience.

The ambience is really nice, the staff is good, and the quality is also impressive. However, they need to improve their management. I ordered a small dish, and the Samosa chat took 20 minutes to be served. While the food was warm and delicious, they need to improve their service timings. Later, I ordered chicken biryani, which arrived hot in 6 minutes. Here’s my final rating: 1st star for the ambience, 2nd star for cleanliness and hygiene, 3rd star for presentation, and 4th star for food quality. I’ve withheld the 5th star due to the service time. Overall, it was a good experience—a great family restaurant.

Food was cooked fresh, arrived hot, tasted delicious. Ordered on the recommendation of a friend and I'll be telling others to try this place.

Some of their meals are tiny and overpriced, while the others are delicious and provide excellent value for money. Unfortunately they treat takeaway customers worse than dine in, meaning you get worse quality meat and smaller portions. Their menu prices are permanently outdated - some things cost much less and some cost much more.

Just popped in on the off chance, really good tandoori and a good price, the young lady on the till was very friendly and welcoming 🙏

Visited for a family meal. Very chilled atmosphere and great service. Huge portions and great value for money. We were all very happy with our meals. There was something for everyone - veggie and low calorie - and all tasted great

I ordered delivery. It arrived in 20 minutes. Very friendly delivery guy from Glovo. Food was good but I had better elsewhere. Typical Chinese noodles with chicken.

1 hour and a half no delivery courier did not turn up. we collected our own food.

if you want “authentic” indian food, i suggest you do not come here. the chicken korma is similar to sick. the keema naan is made in the microwave and don’t get me started on the masala chips. if you want microwaved chips topped with a few spicy chillis and a few mouldy tomato chunks then they’re great for you. when i politely asked the female worker if i could return my chips she shouted in my face and was veru hostile and aggressive. disgusting attitude of all the workers and they are clearly not taught any customer service. very upset and this has left me feeling very upset and disappointed.

I never received my order, the delivery driver was very rude and lazy trying to preach to me that he can’t come to the door. He wanted me to come out to him at a shady bus stop and I refused because I have ordered many times before and the drivers can get to the door. I told the restaurant to cancel the order but the greedy restaurant still took my money and they were supposed to reimburse me for a past order too. I have nothing good to say here and Indian Rooster has lost me as a customer.

I gave Paneer Tikka Masala a shot today, and I must say it was a total letdown. The taste was nowhere close to authentic Paneer Tikka Masala; in fact, it was excessively sweet, leaving me thoroughly displeased. I had to abandon the dish because the sweetness level was just too much. I strongly advise against trying it – a disappointing experience overall.

Had amazing dishes. Fish fry, masala chips and vegetarian Biryani. Abhay the manager was very understanding. Have had salt and pepper fish, lollipop chicken and chicken karmos on my previous visits. Eating in is much better than take-away. Food tastes is amazing.

Been here a half dozen times since I first came across this place a few months ago. I always have the same thing - the 20 tandoori wings and fries combo. The tandoori wings are just amazing, buckets of flavour and the fries are incredibly crunchy. As long as the quality standards always stay the same, I can see myself visiting this place on a regular basis. I might even have to try some of the other items on their menu!

Food was great but wrong item sent, ordered naan and got some kind of kebab meat thing which was very nice but not what o ordered!

A high impact avalanche of incredible chicken

It is one of the best indian restaurants in leicester. Food is tasty but expensive. My favourite dish is chicken jalfrezi with Naan, chicken tikka burger. Biryani is overpriced and tastes sweet for Indians. If you want to eat biryani, ask them to make it spicy.

As a foodie who has lived in the local area for 35 years I must say this was very disappointing. £5 for 2 tiny somosas and £2.50 for a smidgen of sauce - I mean no one who gets this portion will ever order from this place again as one must have some self respect. The £9/10 for somosa chaat also just contained a midget somosa and salt - end of. The noodles were plenty some full of sodium and no flavour. Not a great experience and I guess they are after a one time order rather than repeat business. Would never order again.

Food was generally OK, fish fry was good, paneer curry was a little too spicy. Food took about 45 mins to arrive, and came in bits so we had eaten some of the meal before the rest arrived.

Way to long of a wait and the sound of microwave ovens pinging suggested the rice was reheated, ruined my weekend, have reported it to food hygiene inspectors, hopefully this place will be shut down

A nice place to try some authentic Indian dishes. This place was buzzing with lively customers out to enjoy. We definitely did with some Chicken tikka and then Lamb Madras was hot for mains. All in all a good experience.

They have the most authentic lip smacking indian food.

No delay of food and waiting guests had to go out for a pizza. No help desk from Just Eat. We lost £60.00 and money in pizza extra

Good Indian food at a fair price .

The chaat dishes were rather nice (pani puri & sev puri). However, the mains were really poor quality. Paneer shashlik curry was quite unpleasant and didn't feel fresh or homemade. Salt n pepper fish had a soggy coating and the fish tasteless and gelatinous, probably pangas catfish / basa. Egg fried rice was very odd, no recognizable egg but an odd spicy yellow powder coating. Much as we liked the chaat (eat-in only) we wouldn't return as there are much better curry options around Clarendon Park.

Great price and enormous portion! If you don’t have big appetite, I recommend going for a small bowl. That’s already big. We ordered a pani puri, a chicken tikka masala and a chicken biryani. All were delicious. Order at the counter with table service.

Puri starters were ok, but disappointed with mains. Much better Indian food to be had in Leicester.

Very poor..got a notification to say the driver is on the way and on track for the estimated delivery time..but they then sent the delivery driver to deliver an order to someone in the opposite direction meaning my food arrived 35 minutes after the estimated delivery time and 55 minutes after it first left the restaurant meaning it was cold and soggy when it arrived. I won't be ordering from here again, not very Customer friendly to delay an order after saying it was on time.

We sat in there for 10 mins before we got told it was counter order Salted lassi was to salty and to thick to drink When asked to change it they just topped it up and gave it back We had dal rice and nann We had eaten half the rice before the rest of the meal arrived I've eaten dal and rice in lots of places this was the worst

the prices at indian rooster are surprisingly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes provided, the biryani was enough for 3 to eat and have some left (we did have starters and other mains shared as well!). The value for money here is exceptional, making it a worthwhile destination for anyone seeking an authentic Indian dining experience without breaking the bank.

Popped in here at lunchtime Saturday as was in the area and thought we would try out ! Ordered chicken tikka roll and kebab roll both as meals and a drink . Whilst the service was lacking very slightly as I think this place is more of an order and then take a seat kind of place , and with the vast number of choices on the menu I thought it might be a restaurant style , but that doesn’t matter and minor. What matters is what we ordered was delicious , fresh and tasty! Was mildly spicy just right and we were very full afters! Will definitely be coming again ! Thank you !

Had a take away and as a result the naan and bhajia were soggy. The biryani was excellent, the paneer makhani was tasty but mainly sauce, little paneer. A decent take away and I guess if we had it fresh in the restaurant it would have been four stars. It’s a popular place to eat in Queens Road and I wish you every success.

Highly recommended, looks more like it might be “fast food” from the outside and whilst the service was fast (order food and drink and pay at the till up front), the quality (and quantity) of food was top notch. Will return.

Fast food appearance but excellent authentic Indian flavours. Generous portions, picture shows (eat-in) veg biryani and fish pakoda, both served with raitha/yogurt, with beer (Cobra on tap) £21.30. Busy at 7.30-8.00, with mostly serving for take-away.

Not that great. The food’s alright and the service is a bit slow. Also the bathroom needs cleaning, there’s food on the sink. Overall not that impressed.

Kebabs were delicious but the pilau rice served was very dry. Chicken fried rice ordered was also very dry , so we ordered lamb curry. In the menu lamb curry was accompanied with rice, so we asked for only curry option which was not available. So we had to pay the full price even though we did not take the rice. Lamb curry taste was good.

Food was delicious and arrived on time, the keema curry was piping hot, the sauces with the poppadoms were amazing. The only mild issue the salad was placed on top of the hot curry so it arrived warm.
