Ingleby Cafe Bistro Restaurant in Middlesbrough

Great place and usually good however was very disappointed with Sunday lunch. Was not very warm and all piled on plate and covered in gravy, looked very unappetising. Never been anywhere before for Sunday lunch that didn't serve vegetables in a separate dish for you to help yourself to what veg you like or are able to eat ( some people have dietary needs) Much better places nearby for Sunday lunch!

We visited this place for brunch. The place was relatively quiet, so we were able to sit in a booth (which was ideal to have a private conversation). The staff were welcoming and friendly, the place was warm and inviting. I was pleased that there was plant based milk available and vegetarian options on the menu. The food was plentiful and delicious. I’ll definitely return.

Came here with friends for a catch up.it wasnt too busy but it was a monday nt.the staff were friendly and polite but seemed eager to take our orders.the food was gorgeous and every was very happy with it.would definately recommend it.

Had six visitors so booked a table for 8 on Sunday 17th November The food was excellent large choice of menu every one of us enjoyed our meal Staff and service also five star Will definitely be back. Thank you

Two couples & a lovely Mother in law visited on Valentines Day, an absolute superb experience, staff were attentive, friendly & very professional. Food was superb, from desserts to mains, nobody had room for a dessert !! Our new favourite restaurant, definitely be returning, thanks for a superb evening 👍❤️

Myself and my friend popped in for breakfast one morning. The service was fantastic and both breakfasts were delicious. One large traditional and one vegetarian. Both were great quality and even the vegetarian was a large portion. One thing i would suggest is maybe having the toast on a separate plate as the plate was jam packed but that is just preference. Highly recommend.

Food was amazing and lots of selections U can choose from vegetarian or even vegans I have been there with my two kids and wife and everything was really smooth and nice We will definitely be back soon

Visited today for lunch with friends. We were looking for low calorie healthy food. I asked if I could have the chicken with salad and without chips. That was fine but I did ask if it was a full salad and not just a leaf garnish. The food arrived - chicken was delicious but ‘salad’ was minimal. I questioned this and was told that I could order a side salad. Given that I was paying almost £16 for my meal an additional £5 seemed excessive. Almost £20 for chicken and salad!!! Not only that but the serving staff were quite curt and dismissive. This has not previously been the case. We went elsewhere for coffee and we won’t be back as there are other lovely eateries locally. No wonder we were the only ones in there at 12.30.

Food was good and the menu was extensive. It surprised me how such a small kitchen could produce such a vast menu. Table booked for 8pm and as soon as we arrived we felt rushed. Rushed to take starters order. We asked for 5 mins to choose, told by older waitress we could only have 2 mins as the kitchen needed the order. As soon as the starter plates were cleared the mains arrived. Very rushed, got the feeling they wanted us to eat and leave as soon as possible. Waitress even had her coat on as we ate our food. Bad service spoilt a good night.

We came here to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday. The food was amazing. Staff were very good at making the evening special.

Booked for 8pm and rushed food , staff watching for us to finish , taking plates before everyone had finished and mains arriving seconds after starters were cleared did not make this enjoyable . Impossible for food to be prepared fresh food in that time. Not recommended

Fabulous place. First visit after walking out with the kids in the snow. Decided to pop in to warm up and get some brunch. Excellent, warm service from the minute we walked in. All the staff were very welcoming and polite. Food was superb. Definitely going again.

Very Poor attitude and customer service from Angela. I don’t understand why a bistro cannot amend an order slightly to meet the needs of a customer. I have never experienced this in any other bistro/ restaurant I’ve been to, especially when the bistro is empty with no other customers and staff are sat around! Very arrogant attitude from staff which created an unpleasant atmosphere. We won’t be returning!!!

Absolutely dreadful service I swore I would not go in this bistro again due to poor service (Angie) however my daughter persuaded me to go !!! (We used to spend a lot of money in this cafe as a family previously) Same again today café empty as soon as we walked in we were told we could not just have drinks we had to order food the waitress (Again Angie) was very rude I’ve had previous rudeness from her before !!! She told us the cafe had changed its license and is now Ingleby bistro restaurant so you can not just pop in for a drink anymore!!! (Even if it’s empty it seems) Absolute terrible attitude they really don’t deserve the custom I’ll never go in there again Angie needs a few lessons on customer service

What a terrible customer attitude … my husband took his 87 year old mum in this morning in a wheelchair , they allowed him to struggle in with wheel chair after asking if they could just come in for coffee , Yes , and they were shown to a table , only to sit down and be told they couldn’t just have a coffee . The first time this young lady has been out in 6 months ….. you have just lost a lot of valuable customers !

Went with friends for lunch today. Great menu choice, relaxed atmosphere and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

Visited when it first opened and enjoyed both the food and the service for breakfast, lunch and dinner, however a visit for breakfast in June 2022 was so disappointing, waited ages for the food and it wasn’t good, nothing like my previous visits, this put me of visiting again until today for a Family birthday celebration, the food was amazing, service and time waiting for food just great, definitely won’t be waiting so long till my next visit, so pleased I gave it another try

Went as a family celebration meal and it was excellent. Food very tasty, decent portions and out in less than 15 minutes. Price average.

One of the best places I have visited Food was great, tasted lovely and the portion was more than enough The service was fast and I will definitely be back again me and the family
