Love this place. The service is exceptional, the food worth every penny, and the atmosphere comfortable and relaxed. The way they work the space between tables means it never feel crowded even when full making dining very pleasurable. Go!!

The Irby Mill is a charming, dog-friendly pub with a welcoming atmosphere. They boast a great selection of local ales, for those who indulge. While I didn’t sample the food, it came highly recommended by others. The service was great, and my Guinness was surprisingly well-poured—better than I expected! A lovely spot for a relaxed drink.

The beer is good. My god the food is nothing but poor. The Irby Mill used to be a solid go to for your tea pub. The ribs - huge portion size, cold and fatty. The chicken pie, well not a pie, just a chicken soup with a puff pastry top... Does big meal mean best, I'm not sure it is. Never again for food I was disgusted and left my meal.

Lovely little country pub. When doing a walk from Irby It's very handy stop with it being on a crossroads as it's on the route to Greasby, Roydon Park and Arrowe park. It's very cosy inside and with a log burner it's nice and warm on a Winters day. In the Summer it has a nice little beer garden if you want to sit outside. I have not eaten there recently but I know they have a good menu. Their range of real ales is normally excellent.

I expected this to be decent from previous recommendations. So I took a friend who's never been to this part of England before. Ordered the rump steak baguette which was just a few cubes of poor mans steak, graced with melted cheese. So glad we were offered a decent variety of sauce sachets and condiments which improved the flavour somewhat. On top of that disappointment, we were both charged £1 above the menu price.

What upsets me is it being valentines day and my mums special 80th birthday. I've worked in the restaurant business and that clearly wasn't great service. This is a nicer version of your standard pubs/chains. Cosy and traditional. My husband had a beer on draught which was flat, returned it no problem as a couple of others had. Was either busy or not really checking the lines. I had a light red wine which was nice and fairly priced. The other ales looked good and they had a good selection on the bar. Had food which was nice. Had the scampi and chips which was tasty and plentiful. Husband had fish and chips which looked equally nice. We waited about 30 minutes for the card machine to arrive so we could pay. The young man said he was “busy with other customers”! Then made some comments about how much wine we had drunk! All very odd and not really what a group of OAP’s expect on their night out. Sadly we won’t be going again which is a shame as pre COVID we went there regularly To add to our woes my new white jeans are stained with the dye from the chair I was sitting on!

Blue Bottle’s headquarters is here. They recommended a latte, so I ordered it even though I like Americano. Oh~~ It's a nice latte with the first taste of milk foam gently spreading throughout your mouth. The foam follows you until you finish drinking the latte. During the week, people take the ferry to work downtown, so the waiting lines are long even early in the morning. Instead, it is quiet on Sunday morning, as you can see in my photo. You can also pick up a Blue Bottle badge for free. Haha.
