Excellent quality and choices. Very friendly staff. Prices are more than a supermarket but the quality is far superior 👌. Well worth it and I think reasonable.

This is the place to go for top class meat. And all the food is class,pork pies are unreal

amazing butchers shop with an array of goodies, bought stuff for breakfast, burgers, a venison & potato ready meal & tomahawk pork steaks and enjoyed everything, 1st time visiting but will def call again on our next visit to Whitby

The most wonderful butchers who make the best pork pies on the planet. They recently made one for our wedding "cake" with several tiers in different flavours. It looked great and tasted even better. There was none left over it was so delicious. Thank you so much.

Absolutely beautiful butchers. Highly recommend. We had the meat balls with extra sauce, also the tomato sausages, the apple sausages and a pork pie. They were all that amazing we visited again today and purchased lots of fresh sausages, burgers. More Meatballs and pork pie and some curry sauces to take home to Nottingham with us. My mate brought me here couple of years back and I have returned every time I'm up in Scarborough. I will make the trip here just for there pork pies....the are just bloody amazing, this last trip I also had a triple sandwich also bloody amazing, never had chance to use butchers as I'm in Rochester Kent but if you are ever up Whitby way give em a try ... you WON'T be disappointed.10 out of 10.

We got a whole shoulder of lamb from here in September.. we were in our caravan and asked them to keep it for us for our leaving day .. they did .. they vacuumed packed it for us too.. just cooked it to night after defrosting it for two days and my goodness what a fantastic taste.. we will be back 👍

Used this butcher a few times whilst in Whitby. Fabulous steak for New Year, loved the meatballs too. Gorgeous sausages with several flavours to choose from...tried the Italian and Cumberland this time. Only sorry we weren't able to stock up before we left due to being closed the day we left....but we will be back!

The best butcher! The shop even has its own customer car park. Access to the car park is via the driveway to the right of the shop entrance door.

I think that it is virtually impossible to come out of this shop with ONE thing. I consider it the best shop for fantastic cheeses in the area...and of course , the meat and then there's the pies... The local cheeses make a wonderful gift with chutney to top it off. I am fortunate to live locally.

Overrated and very expensive, bought some sirloin steaks from here and they were tiny and cost a lot more than the other local butchers.

Decent variety of good quality produce, at an appropriate price. Some may consider it expensive but, when it comes to meat, I’d rather pay a bit more for higher quality. Best hot sandwich ever: bacon/sausage, egg, mushroom and black pudding…heavenly.

I wouldn’t buy meat from anywhere else. A fabulous food emporium that’s like stepping back in time to when I was a kid and food tasted so much better. Top picks would be the pork pies and sausages but everything is of excellent quality.

I am so glad we went here after so many recommendations. The young man serving was extremely friendly and helpful. The pork pie, sausage rolls, Ribs & chicken wings were delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

Went weekday, mid-morning. Was busy. Fantastic food. Had egg and bacon sandwich, pork pie and tea. Food looks like it is locally sourced. Was in the area for work but very temped to make a special trip out just for the taste of this excellent food.

Excellent butcher, hot sandwich aswell

Bought Jackson self cured bacon, old fashioned dry cured with no water produced in the cooking process, tasted great and was crispy! Also bought a large pork pie which was made with perfect pastry and absolutely stuffed full of meat, there’s no comparison between this and the pork pies on sale in a supermarket! Another reviewer described them as the best ever and I would have to agree!

we had been told of this place before we went but WOW we bought sausage and bacon for breakfast and it was so tasty. They also sold bread, we bought the onion bread it was so tasty that it did not last the day. We only stayed 2 days so didnt get chance to try the meat but we are going back in June so will def try then and hopefully take some home with us.

55 years on and still amazing. My husband used visit regularly in the 1960’s with his Nana and Grandad - Whitby residents. He has has fond memories and introduced me to this little gem when we were ‘courting’ in the 1980’s Our most recent visit today prompted me to write this review. Traditional food, traditional values, Cannot recommend too highly. Pies , meat, takeaway and more. A winning combination with the friendly staff. I would give more stars if I could xx

We stumbled across this butchers when walking to Whitby. It is full to the brim of fresh meats and pastries. The staff are so friendly and will do anything to help.

I stayed literally across the road from Jacksons for 3 days. After reading the comments in the Guest Book, I just HAD to call in. MY WORD! The shop is immaculate with all their fayre laid out beautifully - so inviting! They do breakfast rolls and takeout food until about 2.30 pm and it’s delicious - borderline dangerous! The staff are super welcoming and friendly, and chat to locals and newbies just the same. If you’re in the area I heartily recommend calling in and checking them out. They do it right.

Was just passing and thought I'd treat myself to a steak pie, don't know what the rest of the fare is like but my pie was delicious lovely pastry and full of good quality meat, would definitely return if in the area.

We have visited this butchers for many years now and have never been disappointed. Last week we placed an order to be picked up the following week on our way home from our holiday in whitby...when we got there everything was ready and we also added to our order as everything looks so good on display!...the rump steak we had for dinner tonight was superb!!!..thank you team Jackson's..

In November I purchased a large frozen steak pie.I told friends that it was by far the best pie I have ever had.The quality and value for money were outstandingly good. Other products were of the same standard.Since then I have purchased a furthur five smaller individual pies of various fillings.The first two were poor, being small, underfilled and with hard pastry. The last three were awful with all of the above plus having pastry missing,being burnt, dry and with exposed filling(such as it was). If I hadn't travelled a great distance before spotting these monstrosities I would have returned to the shop.I have taken photos however to prove my point. How I wonder, can a shop of this obvious quality(it is the cleanest,most pleasant smelling,well presented, quality, butchers shop I have ever seen,and with great staff too) drop standards to this extent. I am so disappointed as I thought I had found a butchers shop so good I need never feel the need to try any other.

Phoned up to order pork and apple pie for collection this afternoon , lady on phone was very rude saying we arnt taking orders you’ll have to take pot luck goodbye, and put phone down, terrible customer service.

What a gem. Don't be fooled by the size of the shop they seem to have everything you need & more. We were self catering & found out that they do ready meals. Well that was all we needed. On the last day stopped to buy whatever they had left as they were stopping ready meals for xmas. Simply the best. Really wish they did online deliveries but otheriwse we'll just have to run the freezer right down for thw next time. Really helpful knowledgeable staff. Well done.

We have been to most of the butchers in the area for meat and you won't find one better., especially the pies they come from all over the north east for them. Only down side is its a bit small inside so you may have to wait outside.

i love everything about this butcher, people are friendly and helpful, everything is fresh made, i love their dry cured back bacon, wow, simply the best, and most importantly, they make their own bacon which is a rare thing nowadays.

Like many reviews, I was recommended Jacksons by a friend. It lived up to its reputation. £1.90 for a bacon and egg sandwich with great quality bacon and a lot of it too. A good selection of meat and deli options. There's a free car park around the back with lots of space too.

Staying in Whitby for a few days, and hubby wanted a nice fillet steak. So I googled where to find a good one, and Jackson’s butchers in Ruswarp came up.

On a Family Trip from Filey to Durham. Stopped off at Jackson's on my Sister's Recommendation. Was not disappointed. At all! Very friendly staff. Busy Butchers. Amazing selection of fresh produce. Unfortunately didn't have the time to sample all they have to offer. I had a Bacon and Sausage Sandwich and Cup of Tea. Very cheap but excellent quality. If you need a Stop off break and in the vicinity. I thourougth recommend this place. And the village is Classic Yorkshire! Nowt to fault!
