Jai Somnath taste of India in Leicester

I was really looking forward to taking my kids here for a late breakfast, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The customer service was lacking, and it was unclear how to place an order. Despite sitting for 10 minutes, no staff member approached us or greeted us, leaving us feeling unwelcome and confused about the process. The lack of attention and communication was frustrating, and it significantly impacted our visit. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend this place based on our experience, and I don't plan on returning. It's unfortunate because I had high hopes for this visit.

I went with high expectations after seeing online reviews n insta recommendations, but was highly disappointed. The interiors were beautiful and extremely thoughtful with all tricolour sofas, aarti playing on the TV, even tricolour pani puri was a pleasant surprise. The taste and service was a let down. How can you not give emily ki chutney with pani puri and call it authentic pani puri!! There was no pudine ka pani either. They literally handed over jal-jeera for pani puri. I do not like spoiling the image of pani puri. Only the aloo masala was nice n puri was crispy. Pav bhaji - quantity was generous , taste was okay, not too bad. Felt the salt was bit too much. Could have been better. Overall , too pricey. Not worth the money. To add to that, the staff was charging extra 50p for card payment as the bill was below £10, or asking me to go out fetch cash in the rain. I already didn't feel like paying for the food, I had travelled from far specially for this place, wasted time and hopes of authentic Indian food. The lady said she was new and didn't know much, there was nobody else around. I don't kno why they had left a new staff member alone without a senior, n give that as an excuse for poor service. There are endless Indian restaurants on that street, with half prices, better food, please try those.

ordered dahi wada from this place, and the wada had fungus and a horrible taste. I won’t go to this place again, and I will request others to be vigilant.

This place is divine. Amazing food at great prices. Friendly staff, quick waiting times. Absolutely superb. Also I go at 12pm and it's always quiet which is what I need, no maddening crowds. Well done. 🙏🌈❤️💐

We tried couple of dishes such as a Panipuri, Bombay sandwich, shezwan noodles and pavbhaji. I would not recommend you Paav bhaji.

This was my first visit, and I was really impressed with the food! We tried a variety of dishes, including vada pav, Schezwan vada pav, pani puri, masala chips (French fries), and puri sak. Everything was delicious, but my favorites were the vada pav and masala chips. I'll definitely be back to try more! Jai Somnath 🙏

Food was stone cold. Missing puri shak. Waited 1.5 hours for delivery. Was initially advised by the restaurant, that the food was almost ready and it would be easier for us to collect. My husband went to collect the food and it wasn’t even ready. I then called the restaurant about 45 mins later only to be advised that they still had not allocated a driver. It’s a shame as the food and service is usually on point

Special Pani Puri - Amazing taste must try.

Excellent place for authentic Indian food. Great food at a great price. Sober ambience. Authentic Indian method of cooking. Tea at the end was too too good. Highly recommended. Must visit.

The indo chinese rice noodles are not very nice, they are so dry, vada pav was nice

I really wanted to eat a food with pure Indian taste and I never been satisfied with any other restaurant or food shop but when I visited a jai somnath food restaurant witch is in Leicester.. it was delicious and mouth watering food I ever tried.. and there’s service was very good as well. The owner of that shop was serving food and i was really happy with that, and I really appreciate with their service and food, also I recommend everyone to go and try this amazing Restaurant’s food…

Delicious food, great value, and excellent service

This review is long overdue, we had visited on a very busy diwali evening. The place is rather small with limited seating as it was diwali it was packed and the wait time was over 15-20 minutes. The young lady on the counter was very attentive and tried to get us a table as quickly as possible. Once sat down our order came but due to the restaurant being so packed and the kitchen under extra pressure the food got mixed up and all the dishes came together. The pani puri we ordered got mixed up and we ended up with a different flavour water so not a great start. The manchow soup, chill paneer and hakka noddles were good. But instead of masala chips we were given cheesy chips. They changed it for us but it was the same chips only in a red sauce and some spices so overall it's an ok place to have a quick bite and some snacks but not an ideal place for evening family meal.

Good place for Vegetarians. Delicious food. There was live music on Monday evening. Kids enjoyed it very much.

When we went in the place was empty so we ordered our meal than more people arrived and they ordered there meals ,the people who came after us they finished their meals and we were still waiting for some items on our meal,so the food is not bad but I think the service could improve and than hopefully things can look up my advice to the management

This is the Best vegetarian restaraunt on melton road. I'm suffering from health issues and Krupalu tailored to my needs,and made my chilli paneer amazing without chillies . Hetal Bhen also very good service no long waits food came out fresh and hot. Value for money too so will be coming here every week for weight gain . THANK YOU BALJIT KAUR

Really Good food What is rare in Leicester, but the staff is tragedy. If you are not from India you have to wait a lot. Even when you order first you will get the food after Indian people. Every time we are inside it is like that, it happend even to my son. I have never seen they kind of rasism

Absolutely appalling customer service. We ordered from there from just eat and they called and said they didn’t have punjabi samosas and I asked why is it on the menu which they didn’t have an answer. They would refuse to swap it to another item that was more than the samosas even thought it was a fault of their own! They forced me to order something of less value without the difference. I called back less than a minute later and got breathing over the phone and they hung up. I called again straight away and asked to cancel the order as I’m not happy that I can’t get my full order as I wanted it and they absolutely refused to do that as “the food was already made” and before I could say a word they said thanks and hung up! I would definitely NOT recommend unless you’re happy with poor customer service. Also, UPDATE YOUR MENUS!

I visited there and ordered vada pav and dry Manchurian. Vada pav is good but Manchurian was very bad test. If I can say the Manchurian balls was too big if you are vegetarian then you can't feel that was Manchurian. Also test was very bad I was literally felt some ball was fresh and some spoiled balls so please never try Manchurian. If you can't make fresh food so please don't make people foolish and you have to learn how to make Chinese food properly.

Honestly, the best samosa chaat and dahi puri in the UK. I have tried a few places in Leicester and London, but by far, no one can touch this place. Every dish is made with such care, attention, and love. You can tell the chef's heart and soul are in every dish.

We ordered one soup, combo of rice and noodles with manchurian, grilled sandwich and cheese dosa. Three Item was good but Combo of rice and noodles with manchurian taste wierd. I asked them after finished billing, they didn't answer anything. It seemed they don't bothered about it. Better not try any food there.

I went today with my wife for dinner but extremely disappointed. I got my order after 30 minutes and then after for extra things I waited for another 20 minutes and got uncooked food as well.Irresponsible staff, very bad service and waste of time and money.
