Jammin Jerk Hut in Bournemouth

Muy buen ambiente, muy frío y buena selección de menú. Justo enfrente de la Academia tan brillante para comer antes de un concierto, que es lo que hicimos. Ambos tuvimos envolturas y fueron absolutamente magníficos. Suculento, tierno y lleno de sabor. El único problema fue que tardó media hora en salir, lo que significa que nos perdimos el acto de apoyo. Sin embargo, todavía he dado 5 estrellas, ya que creo que valió la pena. La comida está recién hecha, así que entiendo la espera, pero siento que podría haber sido más rápido.

Very good fresh Caribbean food at great prices, good ambiance and great service. Better than Turtle Bay.

When I was contemplating whether to buy a fresh fish from a fishman (which was a bit spontaneous and would made me to return home), I happened to noticing the Jerk Hut' chef picking the (catch of the day) sea basses for his restaurant. That after a couple of questions about 'how he would cook them', gave me an idea that it would be interesting to try his 'skills-n-ways' on that fish (not to mention, he promised to impress me!). And it turned out to be quite a treat and an experience of 'pairing' I never have thought of before. The modest by nature sea bass (cooking of which can go easily 'blah') was turned into a soft enough inside but very tasty-crunchy outside, that even the sucking its skin and bones excited my-taste buds. But the surprising part for me was in the pairing fish with the brown rice (that was flavoured nicely and cooked with the black beans, which apparently is very Jamaican). The sauce (on a side) was like a broth (i.e., special made!). And cooked paprika in a 'gravy' and the fresh salad leaves completed that dish. It had well balanced flavours; it was well cooked, and nicely presented dish that exceeded my expectations... for such a (modest-looking, squeezed between small shops) street-food resto-place. (Now I learned that they are a family business that is very serious about their food, brand, their culture, and their music... -- hats off to that!). P.S.! As what per price… the whole sea bass (on a rather large plate) with the whole experience I received... it was worth it! (Note: We should remember that the small, talented businesses nowadays are barely surviving. That the money you pay just slipping through ‘their pockets’ leaving not much in it. So, in my opinion, the comparison to what was before and scoring down for that difference is just an unfair punishment... and to what end?!). Regards. And all the best!

The food was fantastic, reasonably priced too. Rum cocktails were delicious. Only negative is they only had one pudding available. Reggae sound track to go with the food.

A no fuss no nonsense establishment a place to enjoy authentic Caribbean food.Good hospitality also. The menu offered a great selection of choices catering for all taste including vegans as well. My vegan selection was very very tasty indeed, delicious and plentiful in Airton to that I had ordered a side dish too which for me was cooked to perfection. With a good selection of drinks definitely be making a return visit sometime soon.

We have loved Jerk hut since it opened and regularly eat in or get a takeaway. The food is phenomenal, amazing authentic flavours, fresh and great portions sizes. I was disappointed the brown chicken stew was not on the menu last time we ordered as its always been my favourite. The only down side is the increases in costs… I understand the cost of living is on the rise but in the last few years many of the dish prices has doubled… it won’t stop us ordering but will mean we can’t treat ourselves as often as we would like to!

I was so sad I'd finished my meal, I wanted it to last forever. When something is so good you know you will always remember. So I am highly recommending this to anyone looking to eat locally. Ill be dreaming about those dumplings tonight.

Came down from London and fancied some traditional Jamaican food and wow. Amazing food at a great price, would definitely recommend.

Have been coming here for years for the best food. Have tasted everything on the menu! The chef is king! The hostesses are so nice and welcoming too! Nothing is too much. The music is 🔥🔥 Can recommend goat curry, the jerk, chicken in brown sauce, the DUMPLINGS, the greens, basically whatever you choose will be better some of the best food you’ve ever had. Came across this little gem of a restaurant. Music, food and service great. Cant agree more with one of the former reviews which states that if this place was sited i.e. near the beach or in a better area they would make a fortune! Unfortunately this part of Boscombe is looking very run down but I’m pleased this didn't put us off.

Simply stunning, don’t tell everyone! Incredible food, banging atmosphere and service. Only thing missing is the Caribbean weather outside. Inside you are transported to a place with heart, soul and vibes.

Lo intentamos dos veces y las dos veces fueron realmente decepcionantes.Mi pollo al curry parecía como si lo hubieran raspado del fondo de la sartén. Estaba absolutamente nadando en aceite. Arruinó por completo el sabor del plato.Hija estaba realmente decepcionada por haber desperdiciado su dinero en la envoltura que estaba fría.Trabajamos duro y no queremos desperdiciar nuestro dinero en alimentos de mala calidad. I am passionate about restaurants. This place imho has the best chicken wings I’ve had and I’m a huge fan of them, the best chicken. This place has exceptional food.

Went for lunch with my partner we both had the goat curry it was absolutely delicious. The back ground music gives the place an authentic atmosphere. Will go again next time we’re in Boscombe.

My partner and I went in for lunch on Saturday, she had the ackee and saltfish and I had the goat curry. I normally order different things off a menu as variety is the spice of life but this was out second trip and we both had the exact same meal as the first time... Except one thing...the dumplings. They were absolutely outstanding as was everything, both times. Amazingly tender meat and cooked to perfection. They had their 5th year anniversary and they deserve many,many more.

Came here in June with a friend. I had the curried chicken with rice and peas. Wow I was so surprised by how lovely the food was. Will definitely be back.

I spent a weekend in Bournemouth which I have frequented previously. On an occasion prior I stumbled on what can only be described as exquisite Jamaican quisine. This Jerk Hut produced fried dumplings which weren't greasy and too doughy. Crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside with a unique flavour of its own. The fried plantains, yet again were not overcooked or too greasy but clearly made with a lot of attention. The Jerk chicken was well seasoned and seemed flame grilled with the perfect amount of kick from the scotch bonnet peppers and other ingredients. It's clear the Chicken was marinated properly as the depth of flavour, showed it was cooked with love. Their cocktails were also very tasty and you'd be very happy for a happy hour in this establishment. In short, excellent food, excellent service and very reasonably priced. Enjoy!

Love this place. We visited the same night as the Wailers were in town and were surprised to see the band members eating at the next table before the gig. The place was full to capacity but still the food and service were excellent.

A real gem of a jamaican cuisine with the best jerk chicken and excellent service. Fried dumplings are also a must try when visiting, along with the 7.5% bottled Guiness. Really recommend this place, we'll definitely come back.

Been going here since it opened and we love the food, the jerk chicken is the best we have tried so far. Much better than turtle bay!! Staff are friendly, and there is always some good reggae playing in the background.

I visited the Jerk Hut in Westbourne with my partner, niece and nephew after a friend who lives in the area recommended it to us. We can honestly say that we were not disappointed and had a wonderful evening.

As Jamaican-raised people it's usually hard for me and my Mum to find a restaurant worth going to, so I'm very glad that this place exists (even though we live all the way in London!). The rice and peas was beautiful, the portion of jerk chicken was great, the plantain was nice and sweet, the coleslaw was fresh and the Macaroni cheese really hit the spot! Sharon is very welcoming alsi. Jamaicans especially don't be scared to come here, you won't be disappointed! Well done chefs

Had the pleasure of visiting with my husband and 2 children. Decor and vibe was fabulous, reception warm and friendly and tv with various reggae playing, really enjoyed it here. The food was like nothing i had ever tasted, absolutely amazing I had to have a peek at the 2 chefs working hard in the kitchen :) Their food is a heavenly party in your mouth and washed down with their potent cocktails it was worth every penny, thank you. Yes its a bit pricey but soo worth it. I live in Surrey and would happily travel all the way back down just to eat here.

Went for lunch with son don and his mate. My son had been nagging me to go for sometime now. Ok I concede I should have listened to him before! Cool place, cool vibe, friendly staff and most importantly great tasty food. I had the brown stew, my son the chicken curry and his mate half chicken. I introduced them to the doughnuts I had had elsewhere before..they were hooked! Nice amount of spice, nicely presented and good portion size. Return visit will be happening soon. A great taste of the Caribbean. Ordered a very flavoursome curried goat. Omg! Melt in your mouth meat and sensational spices. Very small venue and will return.

Went here before concert at the O2. Very convenient. Fantastic food, great value and the staff were very friendly. If we lived locally we would be regulars. This is not haute cuisine but cafe style great grub.

This place has increased it's prices now by around 30% since last year due to its popularity. The goat curry is cooked for 24 hours and really prepared with love. You know it's made by someone from the country and who is passionate about their cuisine.

Having visited once before, I decided to take my disabled Mum as we both love Jamaican food. She had the goat curry which was amazing. I had a whole jerk chicken (I took home half) and Rasta Greens and mac n cheese for sides. All were top quality and very tasty. Reasonable prices too. Can't wait to go back

I was in Boscombe with some friends of mine for a salsa event at the o2, we had been advised by the owner of our Guest House to try the food as it was so good so we popped in as it is just opposite the place. The food is just wonderful so beautifully cooked and tastes delicious and there sweet potato fries are just the best. We wanted to go back again on Sunday but unfortunately they are closed on that one day only. I highly recommend anybody to go there if they are staying in Boscombe you will have a tasty delicious meal.

The food is great and I do keep coming here, even though I know the portions are fairly small (considering in Shepherd's Bush I can get a saltfish and akee cheaper, bigger portion and hotter!!)

The jerk chicken with sweet coconut source was amazing. Food 5 star but the cocktails only 3 star at best as they were small metal cups filled with ice and little cocktail that were weak with very little rum. Go for food. Avoid cocktails !!!

If somebody told me I'd find a gastronomic delight on Boscombe high street I would've laughed.... but we did, and it's fantastic!!We had salt fish fritters to start which were delicious, followed by curry goat and salmon in sweet coconut sauce. Both were authentically tasty and with just the right amount of spice.A great meal, in down to earth but suitable surroundings that we will be definitely visiting again.(Word to the wise, best to book as even on a wet Thursday evening people were having to queue!)

Friendly people, quick service, good value, well cooked Jamaican starters, sides, mains, including jerk chicken, curries (goat and two chicken) and an Ital option. Pleasingly it serves Pepsi not Coke which last time I was in Jamaica was also the case. £30 for two drinks, 2 starters and 2 mains - seems good value to me. Parking on nearby streets, good bar 1 minute away - Chaplin's.

Love this place so much. Stunning road and lovely people. Go here at least once a week as it's so amazing. The chicken is cooked to perfection and the jerk is outstanding. Makes me feel like I am back in Jamaica

Jerk hut continue to dazzle with their lovely food, friendly staff and Caribbean ambience. My half chicken was cooked to perfection and washed down very nicely with a refreshing pineapple and coconut juice .

I live in Boscombe and always order a takeaway from here, I pop in and order from the counter and wait for it to be cooked, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, I can honestly say I have tried everything on the menu and I absolutely love it all! The jerk chicken is the best I've ever tasted, the thick slices of halloumi cheese are delicious, the curry goat....I'm not going to spoil it for you... you just have try it and you won't be disappointed! By far my favourite place, I even enjoy sitting down waiting for my food to cook.. as I love the vibe and the jamaican decor, everyone's happy and I will continue to eat their food, you cannot go wrong!

My partner booked a table for yesterday (25/07/17) for my birthday which she did via Facebook with no problems at all.I have eaten Jamaican food all over the country and this is BY FAR the best! The hut is decorated fantastically and has a relaxed feel to it.I had the curry goat which was the best curry goat I've had by a mile! The staff are all friendly and happy to help. We live 2 hours away but we will definitely be returning to the area mainly for the Jerk hut! Thank you for making our day even more special!

Wonderful wee place in Boscombe, with amazing food, great cocktails, and always super service with a smile. I love the reggae tunes, and the laid-back vibe. It's not fancy, but it's wicked. My hubby and I love the curry goat, and the mojitos. Everything about Jammin' Jerk Hut is brilliant. Heartily recommend.

We had a great meal. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Prices were very good. The rum punch was amazing. 5 choices of flavouring on the grilled dishes - we had jerk and jerk BBQ. Great sides, with fantastic fried plantain. Will definitely go again when in the area. Would love to try the curry goat next time. Lots of locals collecting takeaway while we there. Deservedly popular.

Have to say this is a little diamond in the rough. The food is outstanding and amazingly well priced! It's a small little hut of love wrapped in a beautiful environment. The staff are friendly and the food is out of this world. I honestly felt like I was back in Jamaica. By far the best chicken place in Bournemouth. As someone from Jamaica, I went here to try out the food. Service was friendly and good, portions were ok. The decor inside was interesting and a bit unusual - trying to recreate the Caribbean vibe on an English high street is never going to be easy! Food was authentic Jamaican, and the menu options were extensive - plenty to suit all. I'll be returning.

I really enjoyed the food, chicken curry, and my wife enjoyed hers, goat curry.We had a cocktail each that was wonderfully presented in a bean can. The staff were excellent, friendly and funny. Everything clean and tidy. The menu had a good choice of meals and drinks.So why only three out of five?I hate being ripped off, so when I read the drinks list and see Red Stripe lager at £3.00 I didn't expect to receive a stubby, no indication of size on menu. It disappointed me greatly. I put great trust in small restaurants like this, sadly I was let down.

One of the shining lights on Boscombe's rather inconsistent high street. Excellent tunes and big smiles greet you. It's an informal affair but the food is epic. We had chicken wings, friends plantain, jerk chicken and goat curry. Big portions and great flavours.

Took my children here today for the first time. We tried a few different things on the menu, and thoroughly enjoyed it all. In fact the children are asking when they can go back!Thanks to the lovely lady behind the counter too for being so helpful and friendly.
