First visit here and was delighted, it was a lovely little coffee shop, we sat outside, enjoyed the view and had 3 icecream and omg they were the most delicious icecreams we have had in a while, wr had the salted caramel, strawberry and white chocolate and they did not disappoint. The lady behind the counter was on her own and was very apologetic about the wait but she was brilliant, this is a super friendly cafe, with lovely views of the sea and the friendliest staff! We can’t wait to come back here again!

Owner has no idea how to make a simple iced coffee, extracted the coffee and as it was not enough coffee, the owner just pressed the button to extract more coffee without putting fresh coffee into the group handle, coffee tasted tainted, when the owner was questioned about it, they said "that's how real coffee tastes" clearly they have no clue how to make a nice coffee. Never had anything to eat as there were too many flies buzzing around food, wouldn't recommend and won't ever be returning

We had waffles and ice cream for just £3.50 each today. The ice cream and the waffles were so yummy and the service was very friendly. We would definitely recommend Jayne's cafe!

Sat outside in the sun having a bacon and brie baguette and a latté...delightful. Really, really should have had a slice of the walnut cake (it looked fab)...there were a number of people having cake and coffee. Next time (and there will be a next time) lunch may have to extend to cake for afters!

We’ve walked past here many times and popped in for coffee and then noticed the cakes on display, we both had Dorset Apple Cake with Clotted cream - very tasty and a generous portion and well worth the money!

We stopped for a coffee while walking through town and really liked it. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Sitting outside was very nice with a good view of the water across the street. It was definitely worth the visit.

Went the other week and sat outside. Just as we was about to leave the owner of the business had just come back and moments later started shouting at her staff members (let’s have it out) she checked to see if anyone was outside and obviously didn’t see us sat at the table still. She started shouting at her staff members two ladies and a young lad. Absolutely no way to speak to your staff. Felt sorry for her employees who clearly didn’t look happy to be there. Then to here her tell one staff member to hand keys back then he quickly left. Can only assume she had sacked the young lad. Then once he had left she started to bitch about him. If you can’t look after your staff and treat them well no wonder it was so quiet when we was there. Having read previous reviews I can 100% believe that she was rude to the customer and having spoke about this experience to friends etc can say that I’m not the only one who’s tried this place out and found the owner to be rude and also quite forceful to customers. If they don’t want to eat here or fancy somewhere else don’t go chasing out the shop after them or start moaning about them to other customers it doesn’t look good at all! And also as a customer I don’t want to sit there hearing you slag off your own staff especially as they had given us great service. Polite, kind, quick food and drink was spot on. And they even came to check on us halfway through. Lovely staff. Rude owner who clearly has bitten of more then she can chew… won’t be returning. Not if that is the way you treat your staff and customers. Shame as the food was lovely and fresh and service from staff was top notch!!!

My first visit here and definitely won't be my last! Ordered from the special board I chose the New Yorker on white, I received fresh ingredients on a large white baguette filled to the brim with chicken, bacon, sweetcorn, mushrooms, bbq sauce, mayonnaise, seasoned with salt and pepper and topped with melted cheese complete perfection. This was bloody lovely well worth £6

A great experience once again. 5th time at The Avenue and it never fails to deliver first class food and service. The students are a credit to the college. Their enthusiasm and attention to detail make the experience a real pleasure. We thoughally enjoyed the lunch and experience as usual and can't wait to return in the very near future.

Now run by the Godfather and the chips are as good as Alfs used to be. The rest of the food is inconsistent .

We have stayed in Abbotsbury after our wedding. We ended up coming to this pub 3 times within a few days. We loved the food and the staff was super friendly and welcoming! We recommend coming here for lunch or dinner. The lasagna and garlic bread/salad combo is to die for! So lovely. We’ve also tried fish cakes, tuna jacket potato, cod and chips, cottage pie! Everything was fresh and the cheese that they use is so delicious must be some sort of magic Dorset cheese! We couldn’t stop ordering side order of cheesy garlic bread! There is a lovely outdoor area, you can sit in the garden and the views are incredible! So much greenery and space. The interior of the pub is very vintage and there is a super cool collection of mini alcohol bottles and some photographs and decor makes you feel cosy, it’s a proper authentic English pub with tasty food.
