Excellent customer service. Staff hardworking. Best wetherspoons pub I have been to. Staff clear tables promptly and keep tables clean ready for next person. No having to ask for table to be cleared and wiped down as happens in other Wetherspoons pub.

Ordered Steak & Kidney pudding for lunch and there was almost no meat inside just a small amount of gravy, I know they don’t make these puddings themselves however as they are sold as steak & kidney puddings they should at least have a fair amount of filling inside I brought this to the attention of the manager who said that as I hadn’t said anything when it was served?? there was nothing she could do despite the plates being still on the table, I could not have said anything as no one asked us if all was ok with the food,This was poor service from her as she could have done something had she wanted to. We eat at ‘Spoons’ at least twice every week sometimes more and when we have had a problem once before this was handled effectively and professionally without excuses. Very bad customer service from ‘Spoons’.

Absolutely disgraceful meal tonight. I know this place is closing because the building is subsiding ( poetic justice really, as it is built on land gifted to the community by Sir Edward George who was a confirmed Methodist). There was a Covenant on the site that no alcohol would be sold on the land. Anyway, Chicken Korma arrived a bit too quickly. Very small portion & it had obviously sat under a heat lamp for quite a while as it was hard & crusty on top. No mango sauce available - obviously they are running things down. The drinks arrived well after the meal - 14 minutes later. I did notice hardly anybody was eating, just ordering drinks- says a lot. Not sure if I will be coming back here when they do reopen.

Everything fine staff were great service 5 star but mens toilet disgusting all cubicles were filthy urine all over floor poo in every toilet bowl and unflushed I was disgusted there was no soap to wash hands or hand sanitizer even the floor where men stand to pee was covered in urine. I can honestly say dirtiest toilets I've been in. To think staff that serve and cook food use them is terrible. Totally unacceptable to have toilet hygiene so bad 😞😞

Visited prior to pantomime trip with my child. It was full but staff said they expected it busier so clearly this is normal. We got a table which was dirty, sticky asked for it to be re cleaned. Ordered a plain burger - it came with salad on so returned then it came back tasting of purfume (not sure if they had just scraped something off it they originally put on) Child got the basket of chicken wings with chips - chips very cold and very small portion. Drink tasteless and well watered down Definitely will not be back

We are from Doncaster and we can’t believe:- 1. How FAST the service is 2. How friendly all the staff are 3. How well kept the condiments etc are kept (no empties) 4. Saving the best until last, it’s unbelievably clean in here. That’s thanks to Rob (when we were here anyway) the tables were noticeably clean, no crumbs left behind etc. This is definitely the BEST whetherspoons we have been to and will definitely make an effort to return.

Popped in for breakfast this morning. I ordered via the app, my coffee cup came within seconds and my breakfast was ready within 10 mins. Food was really nice, customer service was good and attentive. Best Wetherspoons for Breakfast in the North East in my opinion.

Staff definitely have no positive customer training very cold and unapologetic personalities who should treat customers better not a good experience I watched as many customers were treated badly by staff young and old it’s not a nice place to be but got to say the two foreign girls are much better than the British members of staff polite with a caring attitude

Came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Place was busy but could easily get a table. I can't comment fully on the service as I used the app. The staff I did deal with were friendly. Got 2 large breakfasts, 2 refillable drinks and a pint of apple juice for less than 18.50, can't complain

We stopped going here about 18 months ago, it wasn't worth the bad experiences. However we've drifted back now and again over the summer and it has improved regarding staffing, cleanliness and service. My opinion is that it's fine for drinks not a problem there, but they're juggling serving drinks and so-so food and the wheels come off for some reason. Going later today anyway so hope it's still on the way up.

My recent experience at this establishment was tarnished by a disrespectful member of staff which I believe to be a manager at this establishment. They appear to not want to hear other people's opinions and will state to let them know while in their establishment or phone them although i have the feeling that this is just to silence people's true opinions as I witnessed on previous responses regarding issues with staff. Other than this issue which has put me off from ever returning this could have been a nice place to go although it's ruined by bad staffing. It's quite spacious, has a nice outdoor area and is reasonably priced. I just feel like there seems to be much friendlier places nearby which you will leave feeling better instead of leaving angry and upset.

Oh dear Company Row, you don't get any better. Thursday is supposed to be Curry Club & I find the chicken korma usually acceptable, but just for Curry Club day they were out of stock! My companions ordered the Tikka Masala which arrived without the mango chutney ( not unusual) & no sign of the drinks. I went to the bar to query where both the chutney ,& the drinks were. The barman told me they were out of stock of the Whitley Neill gin I had ordered. At least the ice making machine had finally been fixed. They have had no ice for weeks. Everything quite haphazard - tables are cleared, but not cleaned, some staff seem to resent being there & are quite abrupt - they lean across the whole table to snatch your glass if it appears to be empty.

Visited at breakfast today sitting in first section of family area. Elderly couple came in after us and proceeded to move plates off the table they wanted to sit in. The rudest duty manager I've ever saw came bounding up steps , so everyone could hear, telling them to leave the plates alone and now they had made two tables dirty and people who do this are making her job harder! It was so rude and I can't imagine how the couple felt. Talk about a bulldog chewing a wasp. Everyone on the floor was watching her throw her weight and make a scene when the elderly couple shyly retreated. Everyone was saying her attitude was disgraceful. I would of complained if she wasn't the deputy manager. You know who you are. Glasses , pony tail....should be ashamed of yourself. If you don't like your job....quit....instead of putting your unhappiness on others. Need to check yourself

Wetherspoons in Consett has also been a regular place for me to go, however I have now had x2 run ins with management and been treat the worst I've been treat by any management in over 30 years of going to pubs all over the world. The most recent was on the afternoon of 01 Nov 22 when a very simple question about what was in the cookie dough resulted in a horrific experience as I was essentially told by a supervisor they can't tell me and if it's not on the menu they also don't know. In light of the current allergy obsessed world I found this to be astonishing. Thankfully another bar lady offered to help and showed me the interactive screen at the side of the bar which gave me the information I needed. It had something in I couldn't have and she kindly offered to replace the item for me. I decided to take this back up with the incredibly rude supervisor who essentially told me she couldn't help, imagine if I had a peanut allergy or something!! I asked why she couldn't have directed me to this information, yet a bar lady could and why she told me she couldn't help me if it wasn't covered on the menu, when clearly she could. Her attitude to this questioning was simply disgusting, she essentially said I was lying and that she didn't say what she had just said. Then she told me she would no longer talk about the subject because she was right and I was wrong, if video footage exists I'd be more than happy to review this with her as I know what was said. What happened to the "customer is always right" being the cornerstone of customer service. I worked as a supervisor in customer service myself, I know this doesn't mean the customer is literally always right, however by taking this approach it allows for far better communication and some middle ground to be established, usually resulting in much better experience for all. It never means shut up paying customer you're wrong I right and that's it, when it was such a simple question and very easy answer she could have given to direct me the information screen. In all my years I can't remember ever coming across a manager in a customer focused job treating people in this disgusting, rude and downright arrogant manner. I'm 46 and have never written a review like this ever before, however I can't believe just how badly your management treat customers, how can this be allowed it's truly shocked me and tarnished my opinion of Wetherspoons.

Quite a feat to serve a stone cold full English in mid summer. Get a plate warmer. On the plus side the food quality was good .

A few drinks with family had 16 yeqr old with us and bouncer came over at 7.05 and said he needed to leave it's saturday night. The bouncer asked what is he drinking i said it was sugar free white monster which was just that as we don't break the law and give someone 16 alchol and the bouncer said what else is in it nothing was it in just monster. Not good. A place that serves food can serve children till they stop selling food. Its common sense the bouncer don't know the law

This is a good example of the Wetherspoons chain offering a pleasant welcome in very comfortable surroundings. There is the usual range of competitive well priced beers, cocktails and spirits We did not eat but the food looked good !

Visited tonight after a concert at the empire A lady came in with a group of friends, she had a couple drinks before coming into “Spoons” but wasn’t misbehaving or any just sat down while her friends went to the bar for drinks and a glass water for the lady, they were all refused drinks including soft drinks and not Eve allowed the lady her water though both the door person and manager were told she was diabetic!! My friend had some water and gave it to her whilst the said persons still refused her water!! These 2 need to attend a class on respect and responsibilities it was shocking the way they spoke to her group .. I know landlord etc have a ruling by law not to serve drinks to a person who is already drunk... I was a landlady for 7years .. but she didn’t want alcohol just plain tap water and may I end by saying there’s a notice on the window stating FREE TAP WATER!! Hang your heads in shame for not having the sense to let a person that was sat down quietly and a diabetic have water

Came for breakfast this morning. Ordered 2 traditional breakfasts which were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The young lady (Kezza on the reciept) who took our order and delivered it to our table was so friendly and made us laugh and feel right at home. Great value on the breakfasts and coffee top ups. The staff looked like they couldn’t be bothered when serving, there was a new starter on (he was lovely) he was being spoken to terribly. Won’t be back, apart from the drinks being so cheap the afternoon was ruined by the rude staff.

A nice place to have a pint and some cheap food. Albeit not the best food, but certainly edible. The locals were friendly along with the staff. I had a pleasant experience here.

My Mam and I usually come here once a week before the weekly shop, for our dinner ...there's always a pleasant atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful , service is usually quick and the food is very nice . It's very good value for money especially the top up cuppa .. which is included in some of the meal deals .

This is a very modern and bright Wetherspoons located in the heart of Consett.

I used to avoid this place as the real ales were a bit crap. Now they are much better. No more returning cloudy pints to the bar! Reasonably priced too.

Really Poor Christmas dinner. 2 minute carrots you could hardly see them on your plate. 2 tiny pieces of Parsnip.Turkey seemed like one block of compressed meat. Mash was okayish. Lots of peas. It was cheap but expected a few more veg on.

Had a few drinks and some fab food I had the Christmas burger which was chicken breast stuffing with 2 pigs in blankets on top with chips the pub was packed but did not wait long for food we really enjoyed it the staff were very helpful

I’ve not visited Wetherspoon’s for years; kinda didn’t like “pub grub” feel to it; so it came as no surprise that it has the same feel when we visited Company Row today. But that aside, why is it so popular? I think it’s just down to the decent food on offer; the place was buzzing – sure sign people were enjoying their meals. I had the Mix Grill and Ultimate Burger (because I’m coming off my 5/2 fast – so I can) I must say – the burger was just short of being as good as a Burger King Whooper; I enjoyed eating it. The Mix Grill was just ok; a touch cold – but I wasn’t going to complain; maybe next time if it’s cold again. The sausage had a soapy taste to it; but I kept eating it; I was very hungry. And the rump from the Mix - was chewy as rubber; but some parts of it was tasty; so I could not be bothered complaining – seeing I’ve eaten those parts already. At least the rump steak was thick enough to be medium. The lamb steak was nice too. Overall – not the worse Mix Grill; but not the best either. My mam however, totally loved the Teriyaki noodles! It’s not often she gives a thumbs up to food that she did not make – but this – she totally adored! She also loved the books (real books) that were part of the décor; she’d read “If Winter Comes;” we burst out laughing at that. Some meals come with either a soft or alcoholic drink included in the price; my Ultimate burger with a soda was about £6.65 – which is not bad. And they also have an Ordering App - that lets you order without going to the bar. The only negative: the place could be cleaner; and you pay before you get your order.

Sadly the town of Consett has seen far better days and it shows. This was a 'new' Wetherspoon outlet for us, and it was packed! You cannot fault the service and prices, nor the choice of guest ales, but architecturally the building doesn't come anywhere near some of the fine examples that can be found in the Wetherspoon estate. Quite plain and ordinary.

I agree with the comments some staff are miserable and very unhelpful if a customer is unhappy with poor quality food you should make ever effort in solving the issue not just shrug your shoulder attitude! This staff is this pub was absolutely appalling in there service. There attitude towards me and my friends were disgusting so rude and disrespectful. She was a small blonde girl she give me funny looks from the second I walked in I felt so uncomfortable I will never being coming back and I’ll make sure that no body I know comes back I heard her tell her colleague that I am (about 12) when I am 18 years of age then I bought a chicken wrap also my friend did and they were dry when they were meant to have source in I also bought a pint of an alcoholic drink which I had my id for and she claimed that it was not me I’ve never had bad customer service like it not only that but my friends food took to long to cook there for we had already ate our food and his still didn’t come so he asked for a refund and she says “not being funny or anything but you’re not getting a refund” it’s disgusting (she was small chubby and blonde)

This pub needs to take a long good look at the bar staff the guys are great really friendly but the girls are the most miserable people they have no manners don't say please or thank you never crack a smile and walk past and ignore you when you need serving. I go to this pub 2 or 3 times a week and they are always the same. I actually stood at the bar today next to a man who was getting served the girl was so miserable he turned and said to me why are they always so miserable and unhelpful in here. I think the management should invest in some staff training in people skills and social skills for the girls only as these lot are definatly letting the side down

Came with my friend for a breakfast and I don't think I've regretted anything more, not even getting back with my ex! We had extra toast instead of the tomato but only given one little sachet of butter so I had to use ketchup to soften the burnt toast up. We asked for crispy bacon but instead of it looking like a slice of bacon, it looked and tasted like cardboard. The hasbrowns were so deep fried it was hard to find any potato inside and to top it all off, my sausage didn't taste the best. I've had many breakfast from here before and enjoyed it but this was just horrendous!

My wife and I visited after a run out in the car. Going inside it is just another Wetherspoons, but much noisier. Went to bar to make order, the person serving was a bundle of joy, a smile would have cracked her face. Asked if I knew about the tea/coffee which I answered in the positive, she then turned her head away and muttered something about service which I could not understand and replied excuse me. The lady then repeated her comments twice more with her head turned away and could only understand when she looked at me and explained about the condiments being available near the top door. The coffee machine was not working and despite a queue and many comments to the lady behind the bar it was approx. 10 minutes before anyone came to rectify the situation. I had fish & chips which were soggy and soft, my wife had a baked potato with filling and some salad which looked as if it had been thrown on the plate from a great distance. Wetherspoons is nothing more than a fast food outlet pub, the ale may be cheap but that is not why we go. Every Wetherspoons is different some are OK for a quick light lunch but the standards vary so much it is no longer worth the chance. This company needs to look closely where it wants to be, a pub, an reasonable quality eating place or both but maintain a consistent standard across all of their establishment.

We’ve been here a few times with the kids but after this visit for one of their birthdays they’ve not asked to go back.

This is a hugely popular place throughout the day. The food and drinks are so cheap...£12 for a bottle of Prosecco...The food is typical chain Wetherspoons and the breakfasts great quality. There is free wifi. The decor is rather basic for this profitable pub.

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon, it was quite busy but both order taken and meal served quickly. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a vast varied menu and prices are very reasonable and you can buy a tea or coffee for £1.20 and have as many top ups as you like. I opted for Steak and Doom Bar Ale pie, chips and garden peas, however, I was very dissapointed as the pie tasted as if it had been heated up in a microwave as pastry was very chewy (which I hate) and chips tasted like cheap frozen ones, however there was plenty of steak in the pie which was very nice. Undecided on this one not sure if I would go back again.

Wetherspoons is what it is. Very cheap drinks. Large, extremely noisy establishment. My experience of the bar staff was not a good one. Having ordered a g and t, I received vodka!! Can't complain about the cheapness of the drinks, but not somewhere I would ever want to go regularly. Sorry!! Too busy and too noisy for me!!

Like all Wetherspoons pubs this one is cheap and cheerful with door staff at weekends and polite bar staff who are on the ball when queues are forming. It sometimes advertises speciality beers for the more adventurous and caters for almost all tastes. The meals are reasonably priced and not the best etiquette in Consett but will satisfy any weary traveller. Good value for money

El título lo dice casi todo, no te puedes equivocar mucho comer y beber en este Wetherspoons. Es amplia, pero no se completa, bebidas varían dependiendo de qué el Estado huésped ale en el momento, la comida es aceptable y rara vez decepciona.

Venía de almorzar con mi hermana y pedimos dos hamburguesas de pollo a la parrilla, uno con una salsa de pimienta, no suero de leche. Ambos llegaron a la parrilla con salsa de pimienta y mina no sin queso, así como tibio. Cuando fuimos al bar para pedir que se cambien al miembro del personal (con un empate cubierto de insignias pin) era extremadamente grosero y sólo se ofrece para sustituir el queso que faltaba. Cuando mi hamburguesa regresar ni siquiera era la misma que en el resto de queso hamburguesa. No volveré pronto.

Come here quite a few times before or after shopping and you get what youve paid for. Little spillage on table of coffee or some sort but was cleared up quick. Today, speedy serve at the bar, friendly manager behind the bar who served me. Ordered a wrap, a breakfast and toast... toast was black, hashbrowns burnt and half the wrap had nothing in it as it was all stuffed in the other half. Although it was 11 when we ordered and a swarm of people came in at this time, food was actually at our table quick. food didnt phase us, will probably return for food just not breakfast.

When you go to company row weather spoons just a drink or a meal you get good service and a great meal. Big variety on the menu plus daily specials. Big range of drinks. It'sa place people should try a least once. You will not be dissapointed.

Friendly staff, very nice choice of ales and gins. Prices can't be beaten. Lacks the 'pub' feel but it won't stop me from frequenting now and again.

Interior is perfectly fine, a huge number of tables but with a fair amount of space between so you don't feel like you're sat on top of anyone. Food is cheap, relatively fast, and perfectly fine for the price you pay.Don't go expecting a fantastic meal out when it's just a spoons. You should know better. However something that seems to have been happening more recently is the unnecessary harassment from the staff while you're eating. Not 30 seconds after getting out meals someone came over and asked how it was, then a few minutes later someone else did, and when the third came less than 10 minutes into our meal we had to tell them to back off.

Yes this is exactly what they did, trying to enjoy a rare meal out, while eating our food - interrupted us to ask how's the meal - we hadn't finished it. Short time later another guy comes up, and asked how's the meal - still not finished. Although the food was OK, needless to say this is annoying and poor customer relations - at least wait for people to finish meals, and at least give customers the option at the tills when ordering of NOT having their meals interrupted. So we left and didn't stay.

Really nice food as it should be. Came out hot and within 10 mins. There were 4 of us and we loved it. Well done company row

Cant go wrong at this place, good selection of food and drink at a good price. Friendly atmosphere and nice inside.

This is a pleasant Wetherspoons offering the usual selection of well priced drinks and food.There are areas for children and families to relax and enjoy during the day.The pub was clean and the staff were very welcoming.The real ale was good and there were some good local ales on offer.

Beef burger,salad and chips, unedible, cutlery filthy, complaind to staff ,they were not really bothered, i think they do have standards,but it seems they staff are not aware !

Been decorated inside and looks much cleaner, comfortable seating, lovely food at a reasonable price with excellent outstanding service from all the staff, not keen on the high tables and chairs and flashing Christmas lights in the family area, but still nice place to spend a few hours, a visit is highly recommend.

The food is half decent, the microwave is one hell of a chef, there's about 3 good fast good members of staff, but as soon as there's more than 2 people at the bar your gonna be waiting a while to be served, food comes out as quick as the microwave can cook it... Same customers everyday.

Another delicious hot breki,lovely fire burning on a cold Thursday morning and yummy hotchocolate will definitely be back soon

Weatherspoon s always exciting to visit, good food, great atmosphere and often fantastic buildings. Good value for money and dependable always. But more than that, it's owned by a man prepared to fight for Britain and British people. In a heartbeat I go to Weatherspoon rather than others, please do so too. We need to use our custom to support our own companies - those who support us rather than businesses whose owners do not support Britain and the British.

Absolutely filthy empty tables plates removed dirty glasses left tables not cleaned left would not consider eating good at filthy tables although I do like weatherspoons good they really need serious staff training there is no point in having 5 star eating in kitchens when the tables are to dirty to have a meal

Probably the worst Wetherspoons pub I have ever visited. Service is generally poor at best with bar staff polishing cabinet doors or other such tasks while customers are queuing to be served. No focus whatsoever on customer service.Gents toilet stinks and the floor often awash.Many of the beers have "just gone off" or are "coming soon".

I have visited this wetherspoons several times for breakfast. The food is always fresh and good value for money. The refill filter coffee is ideal with a cuppa before and after breakfast. I recently ate lunch there too with a tandoori chicken wrap and chips with a drink for £4.25 very good tasty at a good price.

We have been to this pub for meals on a number of occasions but the last time we visited the meals were not good at all. I had the traditional breakfast and everything except the sausages were either slightly warm or they were cold, my husband had the eggs benedict and the hollandaise sauce was also cold. I would have complained to the staff but the guy behind the bar was yawning so much he could hardly take my order so I sent the company an email stating how disgusting the food was, and they haven't bothered to reply. We will definitely not be going back.

I spent the day in Consett so played safe and ate at a familiar outlet. The building is airy and large and on one side a HUGE section of windows afford views out onto the main road. Opposite is the bar which is long and well-stocked. Local views adorn the walls including some of the industrial heritage (it was a town famous for steel production) which should be applauded as it brings the past to life and the history of the town. I chose a steak with veg and chips and a drink and the order was pleasantly taken and delivered to my table within 10 minutes despite it being busy. Both female staff with whom i dealt were polite and seemingly happy! The steak was done as I ordered it to be and the rest of the meal was tasty and well-cooked. All considered this comes recommended.

The service here is absolutely appalling! Me and my friends visited for a lunchtime meal today and there was no menus available on our table or the empty surrounding ones so I asked at the bar and was told I would have to have a look around the restaurant to see if there were any on any other tables. When our food arrived we asked for some mayo and bbq sauce and were told that the bbq sauce was 80p and the Mayo was kept at the other end of the restaurant and that I would have to go and get it myself. When I walked over there wasn't any so I asked at the bar and was told to go have a look around and 'steal' some off someone else. Absolute joke! I work in hospitality myself and would do anything to make a guests experience enjoyable. On the bright side food was lovely can't fault it, shame some of the people it's served by have no customer service skills.

Popped in to warm up on a cold August morning in consett. Half nine in the morning and the place was buzzing, 50 or 60 people in already having a mixture of hot cuppas, breakfast and beers. Big smile and warm welcome from the barmaid and ordered a standard breakfast and a filter coffee. Coffee was hot and strong and breakfast came after 5 minutes, everything hot and cooked right. Got the hash browns swapped for black pudding which was good quality as were the bacon and sausage. Probably the best breakfast I've had in a wetherspoons so a big thanks to the company row. Unlimited refills of the coffee as well all for about £4. Bargain

Nothing exceptional about this place usual 'Spoons fare and beer, clean toilets, reasonable priced food

Go here regular for quick bite without breaking the bank, food is always quick and prices are good, they get very busy but staff are quick to clear tables

Wetherspoons is the best in Consett. The food is absolutely tasty and the drinks are very nice. I would recommend my family and friends to go this bar. Wetherspoons has an amazing atmosphere.

In quite often with my friends and we love starting of in wetherspoons for pre drinks before we hit consett. Food also lovely, staff are great :)

Been here twice before this time. Busy as usual, but was served within a minute of going to the counter. Nice friendly atmosphere. Pub across the road looks lonely by comparison. Would recommend for value for money.

Visited today 11/8/16 around 17.30. Found a table in the family area, excellent offers on and it was also curry night. Lovely girl on the bar/counter area who took our order and man that brought it out.lovely atmosphere always feel comfortable in there and the kids love having there tea in there.nothing at all they can improve on 5⭐️
