Jean's Kitchen in Middlesbrough

Every time I visit Middlesbrough I eat here, its a traditional British cafe serving classic British food. There is lots of seating so you can share a table and chat to a stranger (its a northern thing) or sit away from people. Food is always good and budget friendly too.All the food I have had id home made, except for the scones? Some of the customers & staff are a bit ruff but in a good way, Middlesbrough is a ruff place, but you are safe. For me I always feel welcome and food is good.

Nice cafe with a large seating area serving a wide variety of British favourites.at reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit.

I had Lasagne and Chips and it was bloody gorgeous, big portion aswell, washed down with a mug of tea 😋😊,I'll definitely be back .

Me and my mam highly rate this place the staff are so lovely and accommodating. Best breakfast we've come across in a long time.

I went on a Saturday afternoon around 3 expected to only have cold food, but, no all hot food was available, pie peas were fantastic, staff very nice and friendly, Prices are very good too. while I was eating I could see then closing down the kitchen, I was amazed by the detail of the cleaning, it was like a full deep clean! I have found a new good place to eat in Middlesbrough

Iv been going here with my family since I was little, and we’d always get gravy and chips most of the time they’ve been nice then some times the gravy looks like it’s been left over night and just warmed up, the staff need to learn how to treat customers, there’s one woman in particular who just looks like she hates her job there’s been plenty of times where she’s came over and took my food and walked off before I could even say I’m not finished

Been fancying a parmo all week. Went here and never again. Ordered my food to be met with 'U've got one ready havn't you' 30 Minutes later it arrived, which was strange seeing how it ws ready?. Its easily the worst food iv'e ever tasted. A load of scraps of parmo put together to form one big lump of pooh. Hardly no chicken in it, just a load of breadcrumbs n béchamel sauce. Staff properly miserable and no customer service!! Nearly 7 quid for the pleasure. Being feeling ill ever since. Avoid at all costs!!

Only popped in the Dundas for a browze, ended up having a cooked breakfast & a cuppa each, only £4 before 1130, breakfast was nice, plenty on the plate & a decent cuppa. Staff were friendly & helpful as I hate bacon, no probs getting a substitute.

Went into Dundas arcade to buy some mirrors thought we would have a sit down and a capachino and a meal.a capachino is not a coffee whisked fast with a spoon but to be fair was not bad.The meal was disgusting.We had a mince and dumpling dinner each total bill £13.I would have rather burnt the money the meal tasted like slops from a prison dustbin.very low grade sloppy minced could not tell weither it was real spuds or smash the dumplings were rubbish I do not think you can spoil peas and carrots.In all went to Boro today and got mugged and might as well have been.how people can use this eateries more than once is beyond me.Must have stomachs like the incinerator over billingham.You have been warned.

We're to start this place was once a great cafe. Now it's just rubbish giving it a 1 star is higher then it deserves. staff not friendly looking like they don't enjoy there jobs. Next the prices of a meal way way over priced £5.20 for a very basic meal is too much and the food well I would have had a better meal in a dog bowl. Shame see a once good place go down hill my view of this place is stay away don't waste your money and time.

Its a very basic cafe with basic tables and chairs,it reminded me a bit of a works canteen.I had the mega breakfast,absolutely enormous,came with a free mug of tea,which was a bit stewed.Couldnt fault the food though.You are given a number,when your food order is taken,along with your drink,and when your number is called they bring it over to you. Service was pleasant and quick.if you are in Middlesbrough and want to eat but dont mind no frills this is a good place.
