Excellent dim sum at great prices. I haven’t had better in London. The waitresses are charmless but they bring the food efficiently. Update 2024. The dim sum are just as delicious but the staff are new and very pleasant and helpful. Update. The dim sum is no longer available. What remains is overpriced and mediocre.

It is a great pity that they stop serving Dim Sum since December 2024, they were the best and the only restaurant in Chelsea, Harrods will cost £23 per Dim Sum

This used to be our local go-to place for dim sum, but they have stopped serving dim sum now.

The food was very tasty, but yes the service was as other comments wrote, not very friendly, in a way of the “Hongkong style” unfriendliness.

It used to be ok, had dim sum and not so friendly auntie waitress. Just like Chinatown so it’s okay. Came here today and ask for Dim sum. Just said no we don’t do it! No explanation, we are customer we don’t need to take this attitude

Worst Service in South Ken with Several Staffs, and Propmatic Hygiene. If you do not wish to be presentd by staff here to decide on what you wanna order Multiple Ti MES When you have just drapn for a couple of minutes, or stared by watch when they serve for literally no reason, or having a stomachache after dinner, don't come. You'll thank me for this. It was 19:40 and there's very few customers coming by, so I politely asked the staff whether I and my friend could use the large table instead where it would be easier to make conversations. I would have totally understand if they refused. But in addition to refusion the staff loudly throw sarcasm at us: “that's so weird! Are you coming here for food or dating?”. The other waiter then constantly stare at us as she serves the dishes. My friend had a stomachache later that day, I wonder why. The sand wall restaurant is so cute. On closing day, the old wall lamp remembered to call me to set off fireworks for you. At first, I thought it was a racist who looked down on mainlanders. After looking at the Google reviews, I found out that Lao Deng was a virtuous AOE. Is the restaurant named Jia because there is no home or no 🐎?

I really love the dim sum at JIA. Particularly their turnip cakes! The price is so reasonable and the food is always tasty. You really don’t get authentic good dim sum for that price in London

We have a dinner here and all feeling stomachache during the midnight and second day.

Never ever visit this restaurant.If you want to dine alone, you will never be offered a separate table, but will be forced to sit with a stranger at one table! At the same time, they do not ask permission from person who is already having dinner and whether he wants someone to share the table with him, they also force him to sit with someone unknown. My foot will never be there.!

This is our local Chinese , food is excellent and reasonably priced for the area . We often have a Singapore Laksa which is sufficient for two people .

Delicious Dim Sum, egg custard flaky tart is so yummy. Good food, good price and friendly staffs, couldn't ask for more. So far Jia is one of the best Asian cuisine restaurant located in the heart of London. I will definitely go back for more and recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

I went with my friend and my daughter.Staff were very rude.Dont understand that is owner aware of this as I have seen they were rude to other customers as well.I would suggest that owners needs to train the staff on hospitality.If not ask them to visit any next door restaurants.i have seen your customers moving to Khan's restaurant which is next door because of the arrogant staff.You are on a good location and your food is good too, just you need to have a polite staff.

The restaurant operates a very low dishonest business partice, to make small money they charge the customer the things they didn't order. We ordered 3 dishes, the waitress dumped the spring roll on the table, when asked her is comes with the dish, she said yes, but in the end she put in the bill and shameless added service charge, a bunch of cheaters, for making 5 pounds make their business standard so low, they don't deserve to running restaurant in London and nowhere else, there's no basic moral vaule, some people just vaule money so much they make theriself worthless for being a human, no shame to cheat,no shame to add service charge on forcing customers to pay the the things they didn't order.

I didn't order the spring roll, the waitress just dumped to my table and I asked her is it part of the main dish I ordered, she said yes, but when I got the bill, it was charged 4.90 and when I asked her she said nothing free, and no shame to add the service charge. Very dishonest partice, to make small money forcefully cheat customers, she knew we are tourist probely not came back, because I observed other customers who looked local, didn't have this treatment. I just feel disgusted with this type of business, so low. If I want to order a spring roll, I would, why forcing people to pay something I didn't order. I am going to complain to trading standard, so people should be aware.

No pedimos rollo de primavera y la camarera tirada en la mesa, pregunté es gratis con platos principales que pedí, ella dijo que sí pero al final lo puso en mi cuenta. Para hacer poco 4. 90 , hacen que su estándar de negocio sea tan bajo, y no es vergonzoso añadir el cargo por servicio por hacer trampa , simplemente se sienten increíblemente asquerosos sobre cómo los clientes pueden obtener este tratamiento en 2024 ? Si tanto vaulan dinero, sólo deben centrarse en el servicio de comida y la calidad , no en hacer trampas, no deberían existir si siguen oprando así.

No puedo creer que en 2024 Londres el restaurante todavía tenga este tipo de fiesta de negocios deshonesta que solo trató de engañar al cliente por poco dinero. Qué asqueroso es, tan bajo para los dueños de negocios, qué tipo de dueño de restaurante no tiene vergüenza de engañar a los clientes. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was quick. Its a small, fast food style place, not fine dining and I loved it.

We basically a family with 2 kids visiting UK for travelling, looked for warm dishes like wanton soups.We ordered 2 wanton egg noodle soups, 1 prawn fry rice, and 1 tantan noodles ( which is spicy). We found that wanton soup and fry rice met our expectation in terms of price compared to quality and quantity and ( we went for the same dishes at Four Seasons, Gold Mine restaurant.) The only downside are the manners of staffs especially shorted-hair lady. She answered rude when we asked about details of each dish.and because we are all get sick, so we asked for separate forks, bowls, spoon to share among us, the staffs were frustrated and expressed rudely.

Estábamos buscando un lugar para relajarse y comer antes de ver un espectáculo en el Royal Albert Hall y después de haber pasado a menudo por este restaurante pensamos en darle una oportunidad. Eso fue un mal error. El servicio era tan pésimo que era casi cómico. Rudo, silencioso y hosco serían las mejores tres palabras para resumirlo después de que nos mostraran arriba. Los platos de cubertería se colgaron literalmente en la mesa sin decir una palabra, inicialmente se sacó la comida equivocada, luego la red llegó antes que nuestros entrantes y sin explicación ni disculpas, solo un ceño fruncido silencioso. Los platos de carne de res, pollo y pescado eran sosos e insípidos, no una especia que no fuera un gran chile con el pollo. La experiencia fue horrible y nos alegramos de escapar al aire libre. Cuando el personal parece molestar activamente a la gente que va al restaurante a comer y en su lugar hacen que los clientes se sientan muy incómodos, entonces tal vez están en el trabajo equivocado.

Bad service the staff just only left the customer on the table not even cared to come take the order or the bill

Loved the food here. Great service, quick and polite. I would recommend the Mongolian Steak. It has a little kick to it but so delicious.

Food is ok not wow, dim sum was fine (I would come and eat again£ and reasonably priced however this place is not kid friendly - the staff shout at you if your kid makes noise or baby cries so better not to come here with kids.

Very small place but very clean, healthy Chinese food. Waiting is must during very pick time. Food preparation within 10 to 15 mins.

The most terrible restaurant that I never ever had before! No service but service fee included, I mean all waitress treat customers in a rude and arrogant way especially for people who speaks mandarin as I noticed. I wanna say: Bixch the thing is I can speak both English and Chinese fluently, but your Chinese sucks. What r u proud of?? Ridiculous and Funny:) Pls don’t go! They’re gonna ruin ur day!

This is an amazing restaurant and great for Dim Sum. We had an amazing waiter called Leon who was very helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great Chinese restaurant in South Kensington and will definitely be coming back. Really good value for great quality food.

I ordered the Black Bean Beef Ho Fun and Quarter Pekking Duck - I would say one of the best in Kensington area. I found the value of money a lot cheaper in this place than I go to Chinatown. The service was top notch especially as an individual customer they provided an excellent service. I would definitely come back again in the area.

All of the menu from this restaurant taste amazing. This Chinese restaurant is one of the best restaurant in South Kensington. I will visit this restaurant often in the future. The foods are amazing even we order the foods as delivery, they always beyond what we expected. I really love this place.

Very quick, attentive and pleasant service, fresh, delicious food. We gladly returned to this restaurant when we were in the area again today.

I absolutely love the food here, Cantonese style food, tastes really nice, lovely employees who are very attentive. Always get the same, including the shredded beef and duck, and me and my girlfriend love it every time. Don’t understand the bad reviews at all!

This is the best Chinese restaurant in London. I’ve been coming here for four years and it never gets old. The food is delicious, personal fave being egg friend rice and bean sprout noodles. I would come here to eat everyday if I could. This food is honestly out of this world. The restaurant is also hygienic and a nice vibe. And the staff are lovely and always friendly.

Food was 10 times worse than many years ago. No service at all with rude staff.

The staff were rude and there is even minimum order per person. I went for dim sum with my friend and her 2 kids. We have unfinished bubble tea with us, but we didn’t plan to consume any in their restaurant. The first thing the waitress did was bringing a food tray, trying to collect our teas and hide in the kitchen. She said if we want to eat here, we couldn’t carry bubble teas cups with us. Even we explained we were not going to consume any. The way the lady talked with us was so rude. Then we had to hide the cups in our bags. After we sat down, I waved to the waitress to order. She saw me, but She started cleaning another table without replying anything to me at all. At that time, there were only 2 tables having customers, including us. It’s impossible that she didn’t see me. When another waiter came back from outside, we told him we were ready to order. We ordered 6 dishes and we were told one of them was no available. We were not very hungry and the kids are 3 and 7years old. So 5 dishes should be enough for us. Then the waiter told us there were £10 minimum per person, even for kids. This is extremely ridiculous.

Italian : The prices published on the door of the restaurant do not correspond to the menu presented inside. The food has no flavor and is reheated by the microwave. We hope they read these reviews so we can improve in the future. If you would like to eat some overpriced, low quality and (probably) microwaved food. It's fine. The duck was very fatty and some were leaking blood. The tofu had no defining flavour and the beef was good but expensive. Atmosphere was great. But the service was 10-20 minutes

At first impact the decor and double decker design reminds of a clothing shop. It is small opposite South Kensington station so it is not exactly isolated, short story long, it is rare to find this place empty, because the Food is excellent albeit a tad expensive, and it is near one of the busiest train stations on the planet. We went for lunch a bit after 2 pm and the place was packed and we managed to find a table after waiting 20 mins. Ordered quite a lot of food which came after about 10 minutes and it was delicious and full of flavour. We paid 75 for 3 adults and 2 children which is reasonable. I would recommend the unusual dishes on the large menu. They serve dishes from many regions of China and not only from Cantonese cuisine so try the adventurous dishes and you won’t be disappointed. Terrible hospitality, terrible food quality. Ordered beef noodles and dimsum. Completely took the piss and gave us beef noodles without beef. It was clearly leftovers. Complete waste of money.

The food is okay but the service is outrageously BAD!!!!! I don’t usually post comments on a restaurant - but this was insane! I waited for it to open for a good 20 minutes. When I saw an employee coming out and flipping the closed to open, I wanted to walk in normally, but the employee yelled in a very impatient tone: "Don't be so hasty!" and tried to I squeezed out of the door. You can definitely use a better attitude to communicate with your customers, especially those who have been standing at the door for 20 minutes waiting for you to open. If you are a masochist, just come and act like someone is begging to eat from your house.

Nobody should visit this restaurant. The taste of the food are just on eatable level which is far away from good. And the service… there is no service at all, and they charge you the service fee even you take away!? Nonsense! And they do not allowed you to sit in for waiting the take away foods even they have half empty tables. They ask us to go outside to suffer from cold and charge us the service fee. How fun is that.

If you like Singapore fried noodles, this is the place to go. I cannot really comment on any other food, because I had only the Singapore fried noodles after I tried them once. I come here on my short visits to London at least once. Service is fast and efficient. I like it. At some point, I need to come here twice so as to be able to try some other dish. Until then, it is Singapore fried noodles. They are just the best.

Homemade style dumplings, very delicious and good tastes fresh. Authentic Chinese food very good. So happy to have decent Chinese food in south Kensington so I don’t have to go all the way to soho.

Dishes were basic. Some cooked from frozen and still cold, whereas some others tasted old/off. Could have been unlucky, but not going there again.

Will not recommend this place for the service. Terrible attitude of the staff. Obviously the owners don’t pay them well. We ordered 5 sets of xia long Bao and we had to ask for ginger in our vinegar twice. Awful attitude of the staff is off putting. Föod is reasonable actually quite good. Please pay your staff better so we have better service. Or your reputation will bring your restuarant down. Cleanliness could also be improved. Overall the management of this trafuarabt is extremely poor !

Lovely find. Just off Kensington high Street tube. Dim Sum is their speciality. Highly recommend.

The staff is nonchalant, effortless and stressful. Even though the food was ok i will not come back here! The beef was chewy and my spring rolls arrived when everyone had finished their meals.

They charged a 12.5% service fee for their most unpleasant waitress. The food was not bad. Din sum was nice. However, my fried prawn rice was served with really disgusting prawns. I had to dip them in chilli sauce to swallow. But that's not the worst. The service there was incredibly rude and moody. The waitress was not there to explain their menu. When I asked a question about the menu, the waitress showed a clear attitude that she was not there to help people understand their menu. I had to repeat my question several times for her to answer, despite it being a simple question. Plus, when I went to the toilet, there was another waitress who blocked my way so I let her go first. Then she saw me and asked "what are you doing here??" I don't know if this is Hong Kong style that they can be so rude and so manipulative like that. Maybe the name "Jia" which means home, is home to the staff, not customers. They don't even serve water when they made a rule to take away your own drink. This restaurant has alright food, but the atmosphere created by the staff would make you feel stressed to enjoy your food. Not worth going.

Food is ok but hygiene is TERRIBLE. My friend and I had severe diarrhea after eating here. Service wise, it is not that bad as mentioned here.

Really enjoyed my time there with my friends as we celebrated my birthday! It was also very close by to the museum we visited ahead of time. Not only that the staff there were very sweet.

Ma po tofu had no flavour, not even salt. Dumplings were meh, only prawn dumplings were ok. They mistakenly brought a wrong order, when confronted they were rude and they charged fir everything including the wrong order in the end.

i visit regularly because i live close and singapore noodles okay but every time i say never again! Rude surly staff who literally throw things at you. It's a depressing experience and food not good enough for the torture of an every time bad experience. Empty at 17.30 when usually busy. Perhaps other people thinking food not good enough to keep putting up with dismal atmosphere and service.

Pity they don't allow booked tables

I had a dim sum lunch and it was excellent and beautifully presented and delicious. Service was kind, helpful and when I mentioned I was in a hurry, they rushed my order through.

The food was fine, but there was dust and a big fly in my water glass, the waitress did black face all the time and didn’t even say sorry…

Very good food and quick and easy service

Food was over cooked so we asked to have the service charge removed, mind you service charge is not mandatory in the UK. The manager and staff started a full on argument with us, and shouted at us saying that we shouldn’t have chosen to eat in if we didn’t want to pay service charge. What a joke

For £15.50 a head including drinks this was superb especially given so near to big tourist trap museums. A lot of Asian customers. Best Mapo tofu found so far in uk and is traditional beef. Great if not outstanding dumplings. There was a visible queue but others waiting needed large group tables so worth asking as just two we went straight in. Despite busy told us fine to enjoy finishing our tea. Toilets nice and clean.

Their hot and sour soup is actually a soup of cornflower powder - a thick gooey soup. It wasn’t hearty or hot or sour! We also ordered their - soft shell crab - 4/5 - Egg fried rice - 3/5 - Mix vegetables sauce - 2/5 (there was no sauce and there was a weird tasting oil / liquid coating the vegetables) - special fried rice - 4/5 (my friends said jt was good) - lamb curry - 3/5 (small portion and even that my friends could finish) Overall recommendation - I will never go there again. The store clerk is good at bullying Chinese people. When we come in, he will throw away the water we bring with us.

The service was extremely poor and the waiter was rude. One of my friends brought half a cup of the remaining drinks. The first thing he said when he came in was, "We don't allow drinks in this store, so I'll throw them away for you."

Very average. I came in with a bottle of drink I had drunk (not intentionally bringing one in to drink). Just let me throw it away. The clerk has no manners.

This food definitely hit the spot! After walking around all morning we needed to stop for a quick lunch and were craving noodles. The rice noodles with sliced beef and chicken and black bean sauce crispy noodle fit the bill! Good prawn rice rolls as well.

Casual drop in while visiting London. Well received by friendly staff. Loved the food - plenty of choice and very fresh. I'd recommend the Singapore vermicelli and sharing starter platter.

Over priced over cooked no flavour

Worst experience ever, staff were so rude. Chinese young boy with glasses I didn't see the name and also a the lady with age around 40-50ish range, we were asking politely seems like they are not happy on what they are doing. The tone of the voice was not really pleasant, ashamed we haven’t tasted the food ,but i highly encourage all of you not to waste your time going here. They will just ruin your day.
