Appalling staff on the digital/gadgets floor, I was buying an expensive gadget and received the worst treatment. A man in his 60s, extremely grumpy, was talking to me like I am his child who did something wrong. Also it felt like I was bothering him with my purchase, me spending almost £400 was such a nuisance to him. Awful, I will not be going to this branch again.

I'd first like to clarify that all staff members that I've encountered have been lovely and friendly and as helpful as they can be HOWEVER I have now had two occasions where I've needed something (first in the nursery department and second in the haberdashery department) and there have been no staff with the required department experience or knowledge! May be worth doing additional training for other staff or organising the rota differently? Of course sickness etc might mean there are still gaps but the first time I was told that all relevant people were on lunch and the second time it seemed like everyone relevant had left for the day, so more of a scheduling issue than an absence issue perhaps

Very dissapointed had a very bad experience today. I wanted to buy some products from Clinique cosmetics but there was no staff around. I searched around and saw some staff at the Lancôme cosmetics and politely asked to be served. The two women and the man was chatting and the man looked angry why I disturbed him talking to his lady colleague. They looked at each other and then one short European man with a beard and ponytail in a black suit said in a bad manner I don’t work for Clinique and do you know what you want to buy? I said yes he did not want to serve me he looked angry and was showing bad attitude. I bought the item but could have bought more items if I had been given good customer service. John Lewis at White City Westfield, Ariel Way, London W12 7FU standard has dropped. They should employ people who want to work for them and have good customer service experience otherwise their store will shut down like in many other areas. TAKE NOTE!

Absolute worst service. Shopping here is so so exasperating. Can’t be compared to the Southampton west quay branch at all. Especially the young woman at hourglass. I as a customer had to keep apologizing, while she didn’t have a mention of thanks or a smile. If you a racist please don’t work in the service line.

I was subjected to discriminatory behavior by a female employee in her 40s with black curly hair and dark skin in the store. I asked her to wait for a minute, as I wanted to prove that the product was being sold and could be sold, but she directly took the item I had selected from the counter and acted very rudely. Later, Manager Chloe tried to resolve the issue, but she said there was nothing she could do and could not tell me the name of the employee who had discriminated against me. Other staff members later tried to help, but Patrick stopped them from speaking with me and warned me that the matter was over. I was left with no choice but to file a complaint online. During this time, he kept a mocking smile on his face, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable.

The Westfield London branch is unfortunately really bad. They tried to refuse to honour my two year warranty, because it would cost them too much money to replace it for me. If you are buying expensive electronics, I'd suggest shopping elsewhere as the warranty promised isn't honoured. The technians were incredibly rude and patronising. The technians told me my watch was out of warranty, and I had to take it up with manufacturer, despite my purchase being from John Lewis and being within the 2 year warranty i was promised when i purchased. I would go as far to say the the technians were genuinely lying to me about the refund policy and they were very rude. The whole processtook me about 90minutes to prove they were wrong and get the refund I was entitled to. It took me escalating to two different managers to resolve the issue.

Dear John Lewis, On 26 November 2024, I purchased a Ninja Air Fryer for £209 from White City Westfield, Ariel Way, London W12 7FU On that evening, the staff were very helpful and polite. Three members of staff assisted me with packing, etc. I was very pleased with the purchase as I thought it would ease my life with cooking, given that I have surgery on both my hands. I had to carry the heavy item on the bus, which was a real struggle. When I began cooking, I realised that the machine was not performing well as the food was not cooking in the middle. I tried again the next day, but the result was the same. I decided to return the item. On 6 December 2024 at around 3:30 pm, I arrived at the shop with the heavy item. I was in pain with my hands and shoulder. I went to the till and explained the situation to a member of staff. She said she would need to speak to a manager. The manager was 2 metres away but did not come to speak to me directly. The staff member returned to the till and repeated that I would have to take the item home, call Ninja, and wait for them to collect it. I would then be given a code to return to the shop for a refund. I explained that I could not carry the item back due to my hand injury. I lifted my sleeve to show the staff member my arm. I also pointed out that I was not informed about the return/exchange/refund process on the day of purchase. The staff member continued to ask what was wrong with the machine and insisted that the food was not cooking properly. She wanted to test the machine, and I agreed. She and the manager took the item into a back room without inviting me to witness the test. After a few minutes, they returned with the machine and claimed it was working. I asked how they tested it and why I was not allowed to witness the test. The manager replied that they plugged it in at 240 degrees and it was working. Both became defensive when I suggested that the correct test would be to cook food in the machine. I requested to speak to another manager. A lady named Chloe came to speak to me. She repeated the same information, stating that I must take the item home and that they could not help me. This was despite my repeated explanations about my physical limitations and the lack of information provided at the time of purchase. In the meantime, I called Ninja. I had to go outside due to poor signal. After explaining the situation to the Ninja staff member, I returned to the shop and requested assistance to read a code on the machine. I was unable to do this myself due to my vision and hand injury. Manager Chloe refused to help, stating that she could not get involved in the matter with Ninja. I struggled to lift and turn the item while holding my phone to speak to the Ninja staff. Ninja provided a code, which I gave to the staff member at the till. She shrugged her shoulders and said she did not know how to use the code. She again requested assistance from another manager named Daniel. Daniel's approach was sarcastically aggressive. He claimed to have the same item at home and that it worked perfectly. I explained that my machine was not cooking properly, but he insisted that I must not have followed the instructions correctly. I assured him that I had followed all the steps in the instruction book. He then suggested that the instruction book envelope looked unopened, implying that I had not read the instructions. I explained that I am a tidy person. He then asked me three times for the receipt which I provided along with the Ninja code. He waved his hand at the staff member at the till, indicating that the code was not needed. I requested my bag back. He sarcastically offered to fold the bag for me, highlighting my disability. He then proceeded to disclose his own disability, stating that he had a metal plate in his spine, in a condescending and aggressive manner. My experience was extremely distressing and humiliating. I felt abused and forced to disclose my medical condition. I formally request that you treat this letter as a complaint. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Went to Westfield John Lewis in Shepherd’s Bush yesterday. I wanted to purchase some items on the 1st floor and had the most incredible experience from Xenia and the 1st floor manager Tracie. Xenia and Tracie resolved an issue I had with some items I purchased at John Lewis in Blue Water. I was also looking to purchase some speakers. James and Dami on floor 3 in the electronics and tech department were particularly helpful and patient with excellent customer service. Thank you so much.

The fabric shaver is the best device I tried a year ago, and to this day, whenever someone asks me for a recommendation, I always tell them to get it from John Lewis. For those who can't visit London, I buy it myself and send it to their country as a gift. A big thank you to Mike, who recommended it to me exactly a year ago. To this day, I still come back to buy it as gifts for others his praise for this device was truly unforgettable!

Absolutely disgusting customer service i came in with the intention of buying the silvercross reef 2 pushchair set which costs £1310. After the way i was treated i will definitely will not be buying. I approvhed 3 members of staff to help and all 3 refused. One staff member said saying sorry i finish my shift in 15 minutes so i cant help and another one said sorry i cant help. And the 3rd just stood there and ignored me. I will never ever spend a penny of my hard earned money in this shambolic place.

Don't believe the "price match". I saw a Samsung S23 phone at the Samsung store in Westfield for 499 GBP. At John Lewis I was told "bring us a picture and we will match the price". So I did walk back took a picture and showed it to them. Result "Oh sorry, we do not match all the prices. You will have to pay 759 GBP". Super disappointing.

Rude staff on the customer service. We went to the store on a Saturday to purchase a laptop; the system showed that one piece might be in stock but sometimes it’s not reliable, long story short - in the end we did not get the laptop. I specifically told them that I’m only available on the weekend to collect and I will only purchase the item if it’s available on the Sunday, which was the next day The sales staff said they can see click and collect available for Sunday (next day) so rest assured I’ll get it by this day. Next day until 3pm tracking system didn’t show any updates but the delivery day was still Sunday so I went to the store only to be told that they didn’t get the delivery yet. I spoke to customer service about this, and the staff member on that desk made me feel like it was my mistake to come and check today. She was extremely rude instead of helpful and atleast being courteous, when their delivery system is not up to date. I’m very disappointed with the kind of behaviour. When there is a fault in the system, the least we can expect is courteous behaviour from the so called “customer service” team.

Great store, staff are very professional and helpful. This store is my go-to for any tech purchases. I was looking for a laptop for my sister; the colleague explained all the specs and what processor & RAM would be needed to run her school software and Roblox in her downtime. He gave me many options and he found the best performance/price! No attempts to push for a sale! No salesman like tactics! Just honest and open discussions about laptops for their price! My wife and I visited this John Lewis Store as we needed a new washer and dryer. The selection was good but the service and help we received was exceptional. In particular from a team member called Ryan. He was able to answer all the questions and really took his time to help us. We could not order in the store as we had to make some final measurements at home to make sure both appliances fitted correctly. I recently visited to buy some clothes and have to say the stocking and display were so awful. Everything (literally) was in XL or 3XL, nothing was in S or M. Even though I wanted to find the same product in a different colour, I couldn’t. I don’t know if they don’t stock products in various colours or they were displayed far apart. It was so awkward to navigate. It really made me realise how much I hate shopping in person in the UK. Clothes can be hit and miss so I wanted to see fabric and sizing in person, however, it was just a huge waste of time. In the end, I left with a few items even after spending quite a bit of time. I am a foreign visitor and was looking for a certain product that was difficult to find in many other stores. Even the producer only has 3 left that are only available online. Great department store with pretty much anything you need at an average price. The main sections are clothes, perfumes, homeware and technology. There are certain items which are very expensive and also are mini sections for names brands which are prices you’d expect. The staff are very friendly and the main attraction is the cafe which has very nice tea, cake and coffee. The views are also incredible!

My wife and I visited the John Lewis ladies shoe section this week and were blown away by Shaneida's customer service. Having a background in Customer service, how she treated us went above and beyond, especially with her shoe knowledge. It really helped my wife pick the right shoes for a wedding we were going to. Yesterday at John Lewis Westfield, I was leaving the store when the magnet detector alarmed, and the security guard stopped me to check my bag. I complied because I knew I hadn't done anything wrong, but I was expecting an apology for the inconvenience caused by their faulty magnet detector. However, no apology was offered. This experience has left me with a very negative impression of John Lewis, and I have decided not to visit any of its branches in the future.

I recently had an appalling experience while shopping for perfume at this store. The customer service was absolutely disgusting, with staff seemingly attempting to intimidate paying customers. Without any provocation or interaction, an entire group of staff and security surrounded me, which I can only interpret as racially motivated. It's disgraceful to have staff members who resort to bullying tactics for no reason at all. Gathering in groups and glaring at customers while customers are simply browsing is completely unacceptable. I am in shock from the blatant lack of customer service. I wholeheartedly agree with previous reviews about the staff's bullying behaviour and strongly recommend avoiding the fragrance department. Shop somewhere that offers decent customer service and respects all individuals.

Afters years of shopping there I am changing my review from good to horrible. All because there is a very nasty member of staff who is a bully undercover that works at the kids floor. She tried to disrespect me being very horrible & nasty asking me in sarcastic way "what's wrong with you?" I have complained to the manager on that day who was pleasant & apologised for her staff's unprofessional, horrendous behavior. Since that incident I came after a while with my daughter & my daughters friend to do my shopping. As soon as she saw me she was watching me starring at me in very unfriendly way. When I noticed I looked at her and she keeped giving me dirty looks. Then she walks past me trying to intimidate me with her stares then she sarcastically said with smirk in her face "are you alright." I then replied trying to not get upset & angry because my daughter & her friend was there, " yes, you?" She didn't answer and just walked away with a very nasty look in her face. Even my daughters friend noticed that this member of staff is horrible & ask me why is she staring like that? This member of staff is white, old with brown hair upto her shoulders. She thinks just because she worked there for long time that floor belongs to her and she can bully customers & make them feel unwelcomed & uncomfortable if she doesn't like them with her nasty evil stares. She is really letting John Lewis down. I don't feel the same anymore everytime I go to that floor. Her unprofessional, rude, horrible, nasty behaviour doesn't match with John Lewis standards & what's John Lewis is all about. The job that will suit her the best is cleaning the toilets. I didn't write a bad review in the beginning. Infact I wrote a good review before all this happened. Even after this incident I left my good review and didn't change it. But I am not going to except this behaviour any more!

Great experience last weekend. Visited the White City store and found a new rental fashion pop up which I highly recommend . They have extraordinary dresses that I have never seen anywhere else I will certainly rent from them for my next gala event in June . The girls working at that pop up were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to try to help me find the perfect dress. Great customer service team. Terrible eating experience today. Spent £25 on fish & chips for very poorly made food. Waited at our table with a number while our food went to another table altogether. Had to chase up only to be served cold food so asked for a replacement. Tables not clean so we moved to another. Cold air blowing through the restaurant making it uncomfortable. Top it off, the battered fish was more batter and less fish. Really awful quality. We were too hungry and tired to leave it and go elsewhere but certainly will think twice next time we’re here. We’ve had great experiences at both John Lewis Oxford Street and Stratford. All hot drinks machines were out of service. I will praise Pam who served us at the counter. She was sweet and friendly but her hands were tied by the cooks behind the scenes.

Generally very inflated compared to their competitors and when I asked if they would price match Amazon directly for one of their products they said they don’t price match. The product was 1/3 cheaper on Amazon so I’ve decided to purchase it there instead. If John Lewis want to survive in the digital age they really need to consider matching the prices of their competitors for the same products that they sell.

Most appalling customer service ever at Shepherds Bush White City. Dismissive staff who claim they don’t work for John Lewis…when I go and pay they send me to your main John Lewis tills anyway because they are incapable of serving you at the concessions stand…so what is it? Why cannot I return a “John Lewis & Partners” product if I bought it at your tills and my receipt says John Lewis on it? Plus I’m within the policy returns time, with an unused product / original packaging. Managers don’t even know the returns policy and refused to help me as “they don’t deal with concessions” so who are they working for? I am standing in a John Lewis aren’t I? and everyone wears a John Lewis name badge. Specifically avoid Ladieswear / Sunglasses concession they treat you like dirt on the floor, maybe they should focus on having self respect and basic etiquette before turning their noses up at you. They couldn’t care less if they waste your time waiting for help and leave you asking for information. This is who represents a brand like John Lewis, embarrassing. Other John Lewis branches are way better, staff trained well like Oxford street and Kingston…they actually have five star service and treat you respectfully.

I thought John Lewis was a caring company being a partnership and all however it appears not !!! my two elderly in-laws were separated in the Westfield store under-able to find each other for 2 hours, my mother inlaw phoned worried. We tried to phone the store to see if there was any info about my 80 year old father only to be told it’s not possible to contact the store and they can’t do anything about it. Thanks John Lewis do you not have any common sense !!!!!!

Terrible customer service almost everytime i go: -When I tried to do a return the lady at the till very abruptly tells me that all returns are upstairs. How would i know that? Its my first time and I couldnt see any obvious signs or instructions about that -The lady at the Mac counter very rudely said that my eyebrows were flakey, I was confused and looked straight into the mirror and guess what? They were not at all! If thats a sales tactic then its rude, unnecessary and doesnt work on a mature person like me -The ladies at the Nars counter are awful. Everytime I go they are very disinterested, abrupt and act bored. Once an advisor was just staring at herself in the mirror fixing her own makeup and ignoring the buyers -The Fresh skincare section has products full of dust on the top, no testers and no one to help out

I would give it no stars if I could. I don’t usually complain but I’m completely fed up with John Lewis and their attitude to after care. On the experience we’ve had, I would definitely think long and hard before you purchase through this company. We chose to buy from John Lewis because we trusted that they sold quality goods and have reliable after service. Both have been proven wrong. After many technicians trying to repair our TV, they have washed their hands and told us they will do nothing about it. The story is long and frustrating but it has been going on since the beginning of October. Speaking to other people, they are also experiencing similar low quality, dismissive service. I will never purchase from John Lewis again.

I must say I was very pleased to see the Quality Street pick and mix was still up and running on Christmas Eve Eve, as I stupidly left my Christmas shopping to the last moment. David at the Westfield branch was very kind and friendly towards me and helped me out brilliantly with my tin selection. Even looked up the allergy information for the chocolates and I was buying for families who have young kids, and didn't want any whole nuts. Merry Christmas everyone at the John Lewis Westfield London branch, and please ensure David gets the recognition he deserves

My recent visit to John Lewis left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the cake quality fell short of expectations, paling in comparison to local bakery offerings. The staff's lack of enthusiasm towards customer service was noticeable, and when attempting to claim entitled free items through the app, the experience was disheartening. Despite being promised free goodies, I left empty-handed due to low stock issues, leaving me feeling disappointed and underappreciated as a customer. It's disappointing when promises aren't fulfilled, making the visit less than satisfactory

Was purchasing 2 bedside cabinets from clearance, I said to the lady I'm going to fetch my wife. When I got back her manager had changed the price from £103 to £178. When I questioned it and said he has to honour the price on the ticket, he couldn't care less!! I don't give many one star reviews, but this chap earned it, well done that man!

Tried the cafe on a Saturday afternoon. Copy and quit place. Tried two cakes, a cappuccino and Earl Grey tea. The cakes were not so tasty and also the drinks- just average. The tea was a bit on the cold side. Had a nice view of Shepherd’s Bush. Don’t think we’ll try the place again.

Worst experience at John Lewis White City perfume department yesterday. After browsing the furniture section me and my friend spent around an hour looking for perfumes when we were accused of stealing by an absolutely rude and entitled member of staff. She was of south Asian descent, short and of a large frame. Completely disgusted by this particular partners behaviour, who approached us with an arrogant look on her face and said with a stern voice ‘what are you doing, what are you stealing’. This happened on Tuesday the 14th of November around 5pm. I was honestly horrified, we were just about to ask for assistance in purchasing some items to only be accused of stealing instead. But before we had a chance to understand what was happening or defend ourselves she immediately called security who forced us to empty all our belonging in front of everyone. Do they have no idea how humiliating it is to be accused of stealing and be labelled as thieves in front of other customers. And absolutely ridiculous at that as no one is going to steal perfumes with 6 members of staff nearby in the small perfume aisles. What a shame as we spent an hour deciding on a perfume and when we finally found one we were accused of stealing. Im surprised John Lewis employ and encourage these kind of behaviours. (When we first approached the section there were 2 members of perfume/beauty staff very loudly arguing and saying things like ‘no one likes you; ‘don’t talk to me’. I thought we were in a scene from mean girls). To think we even considered for a second of buying furniture for our new home from this store, after today’s awful experience I’m too traumatised to return and will have to look elsewhere. I am honestly shook by the experience. I did report it to a manager downstairs but unfortunately found no solace in her apology. I thought John Lewis was a place with quality goods and even better service. But it seems to be a store where staff members treat customers with malice and disdain. Traumatised from the experience and don’t want to be traumatised again.

Oh dear John Lewis, you need to really improve and do things better. How are your shops going to survive with the kind of customer experience that we had today? Total shambles. We wanted to buy the 7' Brunswick Christmas tree and the sales person was excellent and convinced us to pay at the til despite the fact that we wanted a home delivery. We proceeded to the til and this is where we waited 20 minutes for the til person to process our transaction. After it was processed, she said that we can pick the tree up downstairs. I said that we wanted it delivered. She then asked 'you wanted it delivered?'....errr, that is what we said. The lady then disappeared for another 10 minutes to the back having said that she needs 2 minutes to process the transaction on a back of house system. All in all a very poor experience for a simple transaction. No wonder shops are dying. Poorly trained teams, not really engaging with you at the til. In the end the chap that advised us about the tree originally and was really good, appeared and I grabbed him to ask him to refund me the money as this was just getting ridiculous. The chap refunded us the money. I have now ordered the tree online, however, the promotional star is not available with the tree as it was in store. Sort it out John Lewis, we expect better from yo. if you carry on like this you will be the next Debenhams.

I was informed that they would check the stock room for the item I desired, as the website indicated they had three in stock. However, I experienced a frustrating 20-minute period of being ignored before I felt compelled to inquire again about the item's status again. The sales assistant then informed me that they were still in the process of searching. After waiting an additional 15 minutes with no acknowledgment of my presence, I observed the assistant casually talking with two other managers. Regrettably, I had to leave for work while they were all still chatting away, this experience was exceptionally stressful and disappointing. John Lewis's customer service standards appear to have significantly declined recently, which is disheartening.

We visited the 4th floor, with the antenatal products and Tamare, the employee at the prams section explained us in full detail the different products (e.g. prams sizes, weights, demonstrating easiness in folding them, prices) and what would be more suitable for our needs. Thanks to her (and a follow up email she sent us with the different products we liked most) we can now make an informed decision and purchase a pram.

I am severely disabled and, primarily, I needed to travel to John Lewis Westfield for refunds because I couldn't return a couple things to my local Waitrose due to John Lewis failing to provide me with a delivery note; I know I could have contacted the John Lewis Customer Services team and that there were other ways for me to return things and obtain refunds, but it was best for me to travel to John Lewis Westfield instead. And going to John Lewis Westfield was a mixed experience for me: a John Lewis Partner was not socially inclusive because he misgendered me, but, when I responded to him that I did not identify with 'Sir' due to being non-binary, he responded to me in a professional and respectful manner. The John Lewis Partner also processed my refunds efficiently. Additionally, I liked being in this store because I like the store's atmosphere and I liked a lot of the things on offer, though, on this occasion, I was unlucky because I did not find what I needed.

I went to the shop yesterday to buy a gift to my son. I went to Yves Saint Laurent to buy the perfume and I couldn't see any staff. Kindly another lady from Estée Lauder help me with my purchase but when I asked to wrap the perfume she sent me to the customer service and told me that I had to pay for it. I replied to her asking if I could have a bag from the Yves Saint Laurent and she told me that wasn't possible because that specific brand and others don't have bags. I went to the customer service and the lady who attended me was very kind and understood my frustration, offering me the service. Sorry but I can't be happy with the fact that I went to John Lewis and not to a corner shop and my experience yesterday was very disappointing. How come a brand like Yves Saint Laurent don't have a small bag to give to the customers???

We love our local coffee shop for its great variety of options and excellent coffee. The staff are wonderful, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Eggs Benedict was delicious and well priced!
