Reasonably priced foods and quick service.

Delicious and very fresh, very quick service even though it was busy. The queue out the door in this busy area means one thing they was delicious!

Great staff. Food is excellent. Place to park, all fresh cooked to order.

Staying local and we wanted Fish and Chips and saw this place. Food was cooked fresh. Fish was very tasty haddock. Good portions. Recommended

Standard looking fish and chip shop which gets a lot of custom. I read mixed reviews but we didnt fancy a big sit down meal so opted for here. Absolutely delicious fish and chips though, and really polite service. A real star in Wadebridge

Really nice fish & chips, with a battered sausage for Poppy the dog. Good service, excellent prices and & nice & tasty. I would rate this as one of the best I’ve tried, and fully recommend it. Only 3 stars for atmosphere as it’s a take away.

Great fish and cheesy chips, speedy service and very reasonable prices, you can park outside too, a rarity in Wadebridge.

Was very busy when we got there, but service was good, and the fish and chips was very good

The food was cooked perfectly, however it was tainted by the awful customer service that we received. The staff were rude, abrupt and created a poor atmosphere. Employees were complaining and swearing about more customers entering making them slightly busier. There was also poor comments from staff about an elderly gentleman who was trying paying with change. Very disappointing.

Fish & chips here are how they should be done. Fresh, hot, lightly batted fish & crispy chips! Would highly recommend! Forget Rick Stein!

Best fish and chips we've had for a long time

Where do I start , the chips were dry very hard and dark brown ,and not very tasty, the sausage I had was OK, but my wife's cod bites had bones in , I know that every attempt is made to remove them , but it did put my wife of eating them , on the whole ,not a good eating experience we would be very hard pushed to recommend this establishment

We had to wait in a queue for 30 minutes but food was great! Busy sometimes not a place to go if you are in a rush. A portion of chips had to be kept in the queue!!!

FANTASTIC FOOD!. I love fish and chips, but it's difficult to find the right combination. Either the chips are overdone or the fish batter is fatty or crunchy. BUT! Jon's are the best I have tasted in years and at a very good price. The wait is not too long, but you may find a little que around feeding time as the food is so good. Parking can be a little tight, but there is parking across the road. Definitely recommend Jon's fish and chips, and I will have another portion before I head home.

Superb traditional chippy!! No kebabs, pizzas etc. Wasn't sure about the parking situation at first but all good. Freshly cooked and first class cod (was huge!), chips, curry sauce and peas. Portion sizes were good and with hardly any grease, average prices and friendly staff so can easily recommend 👌

Firstly, our order was taken incorrectly, resulting in us being overcharged by almost £10. We then had to wait 54 minutes for our order of 2 fish and chips to be completed, only to receive what was disappointing food. The fish was not flaky (frozen for a long time?) and the chips soggy. We pay substantially less for much better in our local chippy in London and considering the proximity of Wadebridge to the coast, I was taken aback at the mediocre fish.

Friendliest staff - nothing too much trouble - superstars!!!!!

Don't waste your time. Travelled from Newquay to Wadebridge for gluten free fish and chips as advertised on the menu. tried to phone but no answer. Arrived and got told sorry fryer not on so no gluten free.

Fantastic place. Even when they say they don’t have any plaice!! Chips were cooked perfectly and the battered fish melted in your mouth, battered sausage had a crunch that told you how nice it was.

Long queues, long wait. Wrong food. 45 minute wait from ordering to getting our food. When we got food back home we had the wrong order, 3 items missing and one wrong item in the bag. Tried to phone to arrange swap but can’t get through on the phone. Regularly use this chip shop, usually good food but not worth the wait and the hassle.

Fish + chips were lovely,if a little greasy.Battered sausage and chips were delicious.Breaded garlic mushrooms were really tasty but the onion rings were over cooked..disappointing

Had fish and chips at the weekend was good served by a lovely friendly lady. Went back in the week expecting the same. Big mistake we got miserable staff it had only just opened we got warmed up leftover fish and chips we couldn't eat it and threw it away. Also the female staff in red blouse called me gay I can assure you I'm not my wife was in the car. Disgusting service Avoid at all costs

Service good and food taste good. Good size potions. However, you do pay for this massively. Sadly, the shared fish I had with my wife made us both very ill that night and the next day. Went here based on the reviews.

I use jons fish and chips more than any other takeaway in town, on a whole great food and service, pricing reasonable. Staff are great. the only issues I've had before are they often forget the odd item ordered (so do check your bag before you leave), and the batter is sometimes a bit too salty. I still would highly recommend Jons fish and chips 👌

Strange place. The staff were cheery enough I guess. I wasn't given an order number so had no idea it was our order when it was called out after waiting for nearly 40 minutes for our two meals...was a basic order. When I was handed the bag of food I asked if salt and vinegar had been put on...no, no it hadn't, I wasn't even asked! Whilst waiting, the staff were just laughing between themselves about another staff member that had called in sick and how the others were going to have to cover his shift the next day. Not once did any of us get informed the food was taking ages because it wasn't being cooked because of all the chatting they were doing! The food wasn't great, chips were near on cold and undercooked, curry sauce was tiny and the batter on the sausages all fell off when cutting them in half! What annoyed me was that I drove past a better chip shop on the way out!

We were so exited for a nice meal at Jon's Fish and chips,but when we got in it was a dreadful experience,no smiles,no happy faces.But I was apauled when I ordered because I was told that I need to wait 50 minutes to get some food!! When I finally got my food it was a joke I thought.the fish was SO dry and gross.IT WAS DISCRACEFUL.The chips were mushy and I was absolutely flabbergasted. THEY DONT EVEN DESERVE A STAR!!!!

doesn’t even deserve one star, asked for just mayo and lettuce in my wrap. i got the whole bottle of mayo, onion and tomato……no lettuce at all. simple order but they can’t even get that right. phone going straight to answer machine but apparently the phone is working and is being used. not once has it gone through. not happy.

Cod and chips twice, peas and curry sauce. Quick and tasty. I can't fault the food or the service.

Not only is the slowest service I have ever encountered in a chippy but food was vile. Very disorganised service with only one person serving and lack of communication. Had run out of some of the food. Fish and chips was over cooked, dirty oil and actually made my partner poorly. Avoid and spend your hard earned cash elsewhere peeps.

Well what can I say what a fantastic burger wrap made by the young Harry C. husband absolutely enjoyed it again and it’s the best he has had . Thank you to Jon’s staff Harry for making it. He will be back for another one

Feel i have to comment on some of the poor reviews and add a review myself. We have visited Jon’s twice in the last 12 days and going again tonight. Fish and chips have been superb beating all the surrounding Chippies hands down. The fish we have had has been plentiful not over battered and cooked perfectly. Chips have been fresh & tasty. And the curry sauce excellent. Believe it or not we are not big fish and chip eaters but due to circumstances recently needed fast and convenient food. Jon’n has fit the bill and hit the spot. Definitely recommend.

Just deleted my original post !!!!!! Bought 2 haddock and chips. Batter was the worse I have ever tasted, undercooked and tasteless and the price has gone up by £7. Will definitely be going elsewhere, Jon's fish and chips need to do better 🤬🤬🤬

My husband’s fish was freshly cooked but mine had either been hanging about in the warming cabinet or was heated up as it was hard at the edges and didn’t easily fall apart like my husband’s. It was also dark in places. I was very disappointed and it has put me off getting take out fish and chips again.

Best chippie around in Cornwall, has lovely staff, great value for money, and tasty. I go all the time. My family and friends love it there too.

The fish we had was not really fish but all skin and bones, it was like scrap piece in batter terrible. And the young girl serving very rude laughing at the customers to the young guy frying. Made the customers feel uncomfortable. Customer service training wouldn't go a miss. I used to be a regular there but not anymore gone down hill shame

Decent chip shop that's a bit hit and miss. Been a few times and sometimes it's okay and sometimes not.

We come here alot and is normally great but this time, the batter on the sausage is bitty and was very over salted, was also soggy just like like the chips. The oil from the fish seaped through to the food below it. I also have a allergy to fish so was a bit ticked off about that.

After ordering the £4 fish and chips meal deal and a couple extra items you get to wait inside the quaint fish bar watching others get the dopamine kick you're there for too. Or you can sit at one of the tables outside enjoying the fresh air and beautiful views. When you hear your number called the fun begins! The fish was delicate and delicious, chips were ever so crispy with the perfect amount of salt. All in all your taste buds AND your heart will be doing somersaults of joy if you choose Jon's fish & chips to satiate your hunger.

Really really poor overall. Tiny portions of bad quality fish, overcooked, dirty oil and rude staff who obviously do not give a damn about you. We were still hungry when we finished and in a cost of living crisis this local shop should really be doing a lot better. The fact that these bad reviews never get replied tells you that they have your money and don’t care. A common thing these days. AVOID. Ps. How difficult is it to fry a piece of fish without cremating it?

Jon’s fish and chips are the best in Wadebridge. I even know people that travel 12 miles from Indian Queens to get fish and chips from here, because they are so good.

Pricey for a small fish and chips but other than that, the food was good .

Visited Jon's today and got to say great friendly staff happy to help when asking questions good prices on specials and normal food if we lived down in wadebridge I would definitely visit there again
