Friendly staff and tasty home-made cakes and pastries. You select and pay at the counter and your order is brought to you. Nice seating area inside and, if the weaher is good enough, a quiet (considering it is on the High Street) area outside.

Love this bakery/teashop so much I want to work here. Lovely ambience, brilliant staff and always very welcoming. Cappuccino is perfect and bread is the best. Will never go back to supermarket bread again. Have become a regular and enjoy being there. A great asset and great that it is still going strong.

So difficult to find somewhere serving food after 4pm. Am very glad to have found Judges. The staff were so friendly and helpful and they had hot vegan sausage rolls which were delicious, made from buckwheat. The oat latte and vegan caramel slice were great too. They were open later due to the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, which was a good idea, as there were a lot of people out. They had lots of non vegan options for sandwiches and cakes and also food items you could buy as gifts. The service was excellent and very quick. There are stairs up to counter and down to the seating area so just something to be aware of.

Scones were nice but teapot had crack right up spout. Also glass had chip. I pointed it out to one of the ladies who already knew about it. I said they want throwing in the bin. She said we can't and laughed. I said I didn't know how they got away serving it . Also the teapot knob was stuck on with glue. I said they should buy a new one. She just seemed to think it was OK and smiled. Give it a miss as cracked items have germs.

This was supposed to be a pleasant coffee and cake having done our chores in Tenterden. We thought we would try here as they have a garden. We have purchased cake/bread from here before and found it to be stale but we thought we would give it another chance. Shame we never read TripAdvisor or Google first the latter reviews include ‘The croissant always tastes dry and old - even when you check it’s made that day.’ My croissant was stale and my partners scone was not much better. (Lots of tables with uncleared cups/plates etc. Never where cleared while we were there). The was no question about it being stale. We have a house in France and the locals patisseries would have laughed at this one. I could not pull it apart and tried to cut it using a knife. It would not cut the bottom which was like cardboard. I took it back and advised it was stale. The woman (Manager?) was rude and arrogant raising her voice presumably to try and make me feel embarrassed in front of the other customers. She made a great show of throwing it in the bin saying ‘it is not stale as I can say hand on my heart that it was baked this morning’. Over our coffee my partner advised she had been refused a refund of £3.75. During this time I overheard the same woman saying to another customer (again in a very loud voice) “it is not stale as I can say hand on my heart that it was baked this morning”! On leaving I asked if she was going to refund us or not and she said no. (This I believe is illegal under The Sale of Goods Act 1979). I explained to her that I was not going to get into a conversation as to whether it was stale or inedible and surely it is better to have a satisfied customer than a customer who you will never see again for the sake of £3.75. Just an unbelievable attitude which she eventually relented on but never apologised. I asked her why if it was not stale did another customer make the same complaint after me ~ no response. I see lots of complaint about this in these reviews now and in their other branches. The whole experienced ruined our morning and we will be taking the matter up with Judges directly.

Fabulous sourdough toasted sandwiches, beautiful cakes and seriously, the best pot of tea we've had 'out' in years. Service was quick, polite and attentive. We will be back!

Stale pastries that weren't cheap. Won't be going again My pain au Raisin was stale couldn't even tear it shame because if it wasn't days and days old and hadn't been left out it may have been ok. My partners lemon Belgian bun tasted of margarine and barely any lemon, infact he didn't eat it in the end and my daughters Pirate ginger bread man costing £2.70 I could barely snap the head off for her to eat. Rock hard. Not cheap. Will not be using again.

This is my 2nd visit to try this bakery. On the first occasion, I bought a loaf of bread which looked lovely - however, I noticed that it was very heavy carrying it home & I could barely cut into it 2 hours later - it was like rock, & I had to throw it away. Yesterday, we bought 2 almond slices, & 2 almond croissants. Again, both looked tempting. However, the croissants were very hard when we got home 20 minutes later, and inedible. We had the almond slices for afternoon tea - they were heavy & stale, & not enjoyable. Very disappointing indeed - not a bakery I will visit again, I'm afraid.

We popped in late last Sunday to get some cakes. The girls could not have been more friendly and helpful, even though they we closing up. We purchased cakes, takeaway coffees and were recommended the packsof giant macaroons - OMG! You need to try those! Excellent value, the best in Tenterden for choice. I think the managers name was Emma - she went the extra mile in service and we'll be back! Really made our trip to Tenterden. Recommended.

A quick stop for dessert after lunch. Pleasantly surprised at the number of vegan items available- not that I’m vegan, it’s just interesting. I chose the chocolate and raspberry brownie. Very tasty!

We stopped here for tea after lots of walking. We sat in a pretty walled garden which sheltered us from the hot sun! The staff were pleasant and welcoming so next time we visit we will definitely stop for lunch!

I live not far away but never been before. Friend suggested it so why not? As we weren’t terribly hungry we chose quite simple basic meals, and were both happy with our food. Ive now found another venue to visit for a bite to eat and will definitely return.

Really good clean and organised wetherspoons pub. We attended on New Years eve and the food was perfectly cooked and delivered in quick time especially considering the time of year, drink was cheap and served in good time. All in all a really good meal
