Medium sized truck park with rough parking. I have not stopped here before and if I was looking for a breakfast every day I wouldn’t stop here regularly as the price is way to expensive for a daily meal at £7.95. There are other places with better breakfasts and much cheaper. As mabanaft own this place and get a good screw out of the diesel sales as a fuel wholesaler I would have thought that they would have provided food at a reasonable price. Staff were friendly and the place was clean, the shop well stocked but on average driver wages I won’t be spending my HARD earned cash in there. I did not check the overnight parking prices so cannot comment , beats me why the Uk charge for parking in truck stops when they don’t in europe What I assume was the manager cam in wearing a mask but when he addressed the staff in the kitchen he took it off , why even bother !!!!

I like truck stops. I have the idea that people who drive for a living have the best idea of where to find the good food. I also like British cuisine, and truckers do tend to be traditional. I don't like service stations. I don't like being just another anonymous face being served factory food. When you're on the road, you eventually need to eat, and it's easy to take it as just fuel. I don't like having to be away from home, so I need more than fuel. I need comfort. So, Junction 29? First, even though I rolled in to park my little car among dozens of giant trucks, I was welcomed warmly. The service was friendly and accommodating. Because of the ongoing COVID issue, I had a takeaway to picnic in my car, which they were happy to accommodate. But the most important part was the comfort. It's easy to get a Full English Breakfast wrong. There are so many components that can be overcooked or undercooked or simply carelessly provided. My breakfast was cooked by someone who obviously really cared about what they were doing. I have never had better, anywhere (even at home). OK, it's simple fare, but I have had really sloppy, badly done breakfasts and this was just absolutely spot on. I have a map of pit stop locations that I keep for my road trips. Junction 29 is now on my map.

Lovely food and great service in this contemporary furnished village pub. The sunday roast was excellent and I am looking forward to returning.

Stayed in “the view “ for 2 nights, used it as a base the drive Snake and Winnats pass. Had a Bakewell tart in Bakewell and did Christmas at Chatsworth. Eat at the White Horse both nights. Couldn’t fault the pub or the rooms. The weather made it. Superb

We visited on November 1st, 2024, and sadly, it was quite a disappointment. While the bar staff did their best, the kitchen service was very underwhelming. By 6:30 PM, they had already run out of the special main menu on the board! The food took a long time to arrive, and when it finally did, it was subpar. The steak & ale pie was more air than a hot air balloon and hardly had any meat. The crust was burnt and tasted like a heated-up frozen pie. The chips were clearly shop-bought oven chips. This was not the level of service we had experienced before. We left feeling quite disappointed. It seems the place is being sold, and I hope the new owners can bring back some quality!

Saw the signs for the Peacock on our way to Linacre Reservoir and we decided to stop off for a bite to eat. We were shown to our table by a lovely waitress and were made to feel welcome with our newborn baby boy. We ordered a sandwich each - Mrs had the fishfinger one and I had the Beef one. Both were very tasty and the chips were very good.
