K L Express Cafe in Allerdale

This place is always busy when it's open, the service is good and if you can phone your order through first there isn't a long wait inside to collect it, the food although still excellent in taste is not quite as good as it used to be but that wouldn't stop me using it it's still delicious.

Used this place a few years ago and it was ok then ,had to wait ages but ok ,today sorry to say ,have been looking forward to a Chinese for ages ,should not have chosen this one ,sweet n sour chicken Hong Kong like rubber, portion size did not even fill half the dish ,£8 for the privalage,special chop suey came out like a dish of chunky soup ,way to much bland salty liquid ,fried rice full of rubbery egg , needless to say did not eat all of it, time will tell if it stays down, sorry to be so harsh to the establishment but you seriously need to improve your standards.

AVOID..... worst chinese ive ever ever had. Fried rice, well cant even call it fried rice it was brown mush, chips frozen and rotten, way over priced for portion. Tasted vile very very poor version of a chinese. Been poorly since i ate a small amount, it got binned total disgrace. Wont ever return here. Needs closed down

A can honestly say I've had chinese takeaway from all over there country, nd Al tell ye right now this takeaway was the worst I've ever had in my life!!!! The old lady that was cooking looked she had just gotten outta her coffin 5 mins before opening nd the 2 staff, well a few seagulls would av done better!!!!!! DISGUSTING!!!!!!

By far the worst Chinese I’ve ever had, I could probably fall over in my kitchen and make a better meal than what I have just paid for. No flavour, no presentation and no nice smell at all. The only good part about that food was putting it in the bin.

Told half hour came back had to wait another 25 minutes got home 2 portions of rice half cooked had hard bits of rice still had to just eat curry with no rice and half cooked chips curry was OK sauce quite thin overall very disappointed how you can wait 55 minutes and get half cooked chips and rice I have no idea .

We popped in and ordered a takeaway. We were told it would be 30 mins. It ended up taking an hour of us standing around. We advised that one of the dishes was to be no vegetables, this was repeated numerous times over the hour. When it was ready and walking out the door we noticed it will was filled with veg. One of our party had carrots in her fried rice, the rest of us did not. The portions of sweet and sour were small, only half the tub filled with chicken and sauce. The service was very poor in our opinion and came across grumpy. Overall very poor experience and would not recommend.

Waited an hour for a takeaway. Food was okay once received except chow mein had no flavour or sauce. Dreadful service, stressed out English people trying to run a Chinese takeaway. Absolutely awful customer experience.

So the order was completely wrong when we complained they expected me to get a taxi back with the food, but couldn't get a taxi. My special curry contained the grand total of 3 prawns no chicken pork or beef. My Singapore chow mein was actually a chicken chow mein. And my king prawns and mushroom again contained the grand total of 3 king prawns in some sort of brown watery gravy. Absolutely shocking meal. Funny two weeks ago we had a great meal. Really unhappy with the customer service. Won't be back ever.

Ordered king prawn in black bean sauce. There was only 4 prawns the charge £9 extortion won't be going again.

2nd year of coming and does not disappoint... excellent food and service and my son says the curry sauce is BANGING.... thank you and well done

We ordered 2 hot and sour soup and a beef and chicken chow mein over the phone and were told it was an hour wait. The food overall was nice but we waited a lot longer than stated much closer to 2 hours which is unacceptable when the staff were still taking orders which were backing up. Won't be going back to waste my evening waiting.

I'm not a massive fan of Chinese cuisine but when the mood strikes KL express hits the spot. I wouldn't even go anywhere else and Kim I'd very friendly

This was the best takeaway I’ve ever had. The quality of the sweet chilli sauce was beautiful and the sweet and sour king prawn balls were home made. Perfect food. This was really restaurant quality and far nicer than takeaway food.a restaurant in Newcastle called China express is similar to your food. Most takeaway quality is not as good. The wait for this food was not good, my brother and dad waited nearly an hour.

Tried for over 30mins on the phone, turned up and place was dead None of the staff seemed bothered Ordered crispy duck, pancakes hadn't even been heated up and the sauce was all coagulated and mainly oil Really disappointing for the cost, it used to be beautiful here :(

What a lovely atmosphere with friendly service. the food was absolutely beautiful!! recommend the mixed satay and chicken chow mein the nicest Chinese meals myself and my partner have had A++

We were on holiday and tried kl Thoroughly enjoyed food, we had the special curry x2 fried rice, chips and prawn crackers. Everything we had was divine and certainly plenty of meat, which is unusual to get such a variety. We have eaten at various takeaways similar to K L however, i have to say you cannot beat KL absolutely perfect and the spicy chips were delicious. Defo would recommend to others and advice not to take any notice of poor reviews, I will defo be going back if in the area again.

I absolutely love this Chinese, the chefs are so lovely. You can tell they put everything into this takeaway, for a very small town they do their very best day in and day out.

Good chinese takeaway- could not fault the food at all.

Sweet and sour chicken balls - chicken was over cooked and chewy, sweet and sour sauce tasted burned somehow 🤔 Porton sizes were small. Fried rice was extremely greasy and had an odd aftertaste. Prawn crackers were soft. The few chips that we hadn't ordered but were in with the chicken balls tasted OK. It was edible but only just.

We ordered mixed meat chow mein, mushroom omelette and chips, wasnt expecting it too be that tasty but it was Absolutely lovely, clean plates off us 😀

Orderd food at 5.45 said 40 minutes for collection arrived 5 minutes before still waited another 40 minutes for my order front staff reheated chips 4 times in deep frier got my order and it was absolutely shocking portions were tiny and not good at all I normally don't complain but I would honestly recommend to avoid this takeaway

Abserlute horrible got chicken balls and they have the tiniest piece of the cheaps processed chicken you ya ever buy do not waste your money.

If l could give a zero l would ! This has to be the most disgusting vile awful chinese l have ever had in my 42 year existence! If the chef were to be asked to cook for a chinese takeaway where l live they would be told to leave the kitchen after their first meal served ! Absolute garbage ! After waiting 1 & 1/2 hours for the food which we were told would take 30 minutes we got back so find an embarrassing meal in the bag ! £37 pound later l feel violated to have paid more than a few quid for the shower of rubbish ! How anyone could even contemplate giving this place a good review must be delusional! I am never a one to post a poor review but by god stay away from this place at all costs ! Not one dish tasted like what we bought ! My 2 or 3 year old would have made a better attempt! Im no master chef but by god l would have probably done better using sticky back plastic, a cardboard box & some glitter glue ! Please please please do not let your family order a meal ! Good luck to anyone who visits this establishment!

Phoned order.But waited 15 minutes for the food.Frozen chips .Curry was tasteless .

BBQ Spare ribs, lacking decent flavour, BBQ sauce was substandard and way too thick, Special chow mein, tasteless, hardly any meat, there was nothing special about it. fried rice was bland, frozen chips. Dissapointed. No delivery service available.

Won't be returning here. Brown liquid swimming ontop of my special fried rice, it was the worst special fried rice ive ever had along with cheap chicken balls all for £13. When I complained to staff the member told me I was probably just after a free meal I was totally appalled at being spoken to like this.

Tonight we paid a visit to try it out .... wasn't spicy enough for our pallet nice lady at front desk ... maybe be back in the future.

I am visiting Silloth and we were looking forward to a takeaway...disappointed that when went for takeaway KL Express were closed even though on their leaflet/menu and on Google it says takeaway is open. KL Express need to update their leaflet/menu and Google of their correct open times.
