Restaurant is as fancy as it gets in Peterborough. All staff were genuinely helpful. We went with small kids so didn't sit at Teppanyaki table but tried a la carte menu from which, Yakisoba noodles were nice n spicy and Udon were full of flavour. Though on the pricey side highly recommended for an experience.

I booked a table to celebrate my birthday, but I had the worst experience ever. I noticed that the staff sang while delivering cakes to other tables, but when it was my turn, my cake was just dropped off without any acknowledgment. The staff didn't even bother to wish me a happy birthday or engage with us. Because of this, I don't think I'll be coming back.

Went here for my brother's birthday 🎈 it was wonderful. The Feng Shui of the restaurant was amazing, such great atmosphere! The service was excellent, and the food was well worth it. It is on the expensive side but it's worth it for a special treat!

Style over substance. Food ok, service was quite rude no idea why. Fake smiles and a tad on the aggressive side. Maybe they were just having a bad day but as customers who did nothing wrong it left a bitter taste. Its a shame as the music was decent and restaurant is nicely designed. We would have returned with our extended family if it wasn't for the 2 ladies and the attitude on them. ( I secretly named her cruella) who served us. The younger 1 took drinks away so quickly before we had finished. Very disappointing and definitely wouldn't recommend to friends or family

Great restaurant with excellent food. Have done both the tepenyaki bar where they cook in front of you with fire, and eaten off the menu at a normal table, both excellent! For a really memorable meal, ask for the tepenyaki bar, but if the showmanship isn't for you, they have tables where you order as normal. Great selection of dishes, the spicy dishes were spicy, but didn't take away the flavour and weren't challenging. Staff are friendly and helpful too

The restaurant is beautiful and the food was great. We had the unlimited starters and Japanese roast, it was delicious and good variety. Gina was very friendly and accommodating especially with our kids. She made sure that we had everything we needed and that the kids' food were given quickly. We really had a good time and will be coming back soon!

The service was very good while it was very busy which I can see Julie was being very professional. The starters was very nice we got sushi it was excellent. However my food came cold but I didn’t want to complain cause I hate the being the hard customers. Also I got a birthday slice of cake on the house from Julie because it was my birthday on Wednesday which was lovely and very happy.

We had a delightful dining experience at Katana in Peterborough and it was truly a memorable experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and vibrant. Gina who greeted us with a warm smile assisted us right away. We came an hour early for our booking but she made sure we are comfortable sitting on our table while waiting for the chef. The highlight of our dinner experience is the teppanyaki cooking style. We were served by CHEF MILANO who came in with a big smile and amazing humour. We even had games and funny question and answer sessions which he gladly answered. The experience felt like you were just eating and being served by a friend. Truly enjoyable. Watching the chefs skillfully prepare each dish right before your eyes is both entertaining and impressive. The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, full of flavor, and expertly cooked. We had a great time at Katana after watching Six The Musical with friends! Gina, Milano and other staff are very friendly. We had the Teppanyaki. we arrived an hour and half early as the show finished earlier than we expect. They made adjustments for us so we didnt have to wait for an hour and half for the food. Milano is a great chef. Very entertaining. The food is great too! Very filling and delicious. Highly recommended! Brung your bluelight card if you have one. Good discount too. 👍😉😍 We'll surely come back here for another dinner and a show! ❤️😍👏🎤☺️

What a great impression Katana in Peterborough has given me. I am so impressed with everything. Gina and Milano, two amazing staff of the place has welcomed us with with warmth and compassion. We were supposed to wait for 1 more hour but Gina considered us and never let us waited that long. She was so accomodating, kind and sweet. Milano, our chef, on the other hand was so talented and ever-smiling. Gina also gave me a complimentary dessert being a social media influencer and it made so blissful. I had an amazing experience at this Pan-Asian teppanyaki restaurant! The service was exceptional, and the entertainment provided by Chef Milan and our server Gina made the evening unforgettable. Watching the chef’s incredible skills at the teppanyaki grill was a highlight, and Gina’s attentive service added to the overall enjoyment. I visited Katana with my little sister after a long drive from her boarding school. She wanted sushi, and we chose this restaurant based on good Google reviews. Unfortunately, the buffet was disappointing. The system was frustrating: we could only order one plate at a time, had to finish 90% before reordering, and each plate took 20–30 minutes to arrive. We only managed to order twice before getting full from the long waits. The sushi quality didn’t justify the delay—thin fish and nothing special. The manager kindly gave us a discount, but it didn’t make up for the poor experience. Next time, we’d skip the buffet and go à la carte.

We had a really great time at Katana tonight. We had the Teppanyaki set menu at the hot plate and our chef Prebik was fantastic, he gave great entertainment and the food was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The service from Gina was also very good. I'd highly recommend this place for a nice night out and a chance to try something a little different.

Absolutely Phenomenal ! Yesterday was our first visit to Katana, but it will not be our last visit. What a superb experience. We opted for the Sunday Lunch and boy did we enjoy it ! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we had exceptional service - so warm and welcoming, so friendly, so helpful, so keen to please - it was a breath of fresh air. The food was excellent - quantity, quality and value. We truly cannot wait to return. This place (which we've only just discovered) is an absolute gem - long may it prosper. Gina is an amazing server. Her suggestions were absolutely spot on. The food was incredible with such a broad range of flavours and textures. My mouth loves this restaurant. 10/10. Fantastic place to eat And the live chef cooking display was spectacular.

We recently visited Katana for a birthday lunch. I'll start off with the positives. Firstly it's a nicely decorated restaurant - very picturesque for anyone that likes dining out for the gram. Secondly, we were sat down at a high-table with barstools even though the staff were informed upon booking that we had a guest that makes use of a wheelchair. This was, however rectified immediately much to the credit of whom we assume was the manager. Unfortunately this really is where the positives end. The table we were moved to was quite frankly filthy. It was covered in a mixture of seasoning, crumbs and even grease from what we assumed was the previous meal. We'd like to say that this would have been cleaned ordinarily but we were moved to the table on short notice, however the table had already been fully set with dishes, cutlery and napkins. I'm not someone that expects a waiter to be all sunshine and rainbows absolutely all the time - table waiting is a tough job and they need to be cut some slack in most cases. That being said, to say that our waiter was unfamiliar with the menu would be an understatement. I asked about what teas they had available and one that was recited was "Japanese tea". I politely asked if they knew what Japanese tea it was in particular (as in the type of tea, not the brand or anything) and they said "it's just Japanese green tea" to which I asked if they could check for me and they did (it was genmaicha if you're wondering). My brother, who's vegan asked what vegetables were included in the "seasonal vegetable Tempura" and the waiter quite honestly said he didn't know but then proceeded to list all of the vegetables they thought could be instead of simply checking with the kitchen. As for the food itself. Two parties ordered chicken karaage. What arrived was not chicken karaage. It was more akin to a Chinese chicken ball tossed in Thai sweet chilli sauce. Simply not what was on the menu. This would have been overlooked but the dish was ordered for a child that was with us and was far too spicy for them to eat. When this was raised and a replacement was requested the waiter insisted that the menu was all correctly marked with chilli symbols where appropriate - upon revisiting it there is no chilli symbol next to the karaage. Another dish ordered was the Vegan Maki roll which lists "Avocado, cucumber, and mango". The maki that arrived had strawberries and daikon instead of mango. This was raised with the waiter who took it away. They returned shortly after and said it was made by mistake and asked if we'd like to order something else. We were confused by this because if it was indeed made mistakenly then we'd still like to have what was ordered. I asked if they were actually out of mango and simply substituted it without asking if this was OK and they admitted this was the case - it's fortunate that the person that ordered doesn't have a strawberry-allergy. We were told this would be removed from the bill. The meats cooked on the teppan grill was OK. Really just OK. Not much else to really say about it. In general the meat was extremely under-seasoned but this is because you then have your choice of sauce for it. The meats were accompanied by fried vegetables and rice, both of which were very heavily seasoned with black pepper which greatly unbalanced them. When the bill arrived there were more than a few things wrong. The entire table had ordered set menus plus some extras; this was eight set menus in total. Upon inspection five of the set menu orders were charged as three-course set menus instead of two-course set menus and there was simply a surcharge of steak that wasn't ordered whatsoever. And of course, the vegan maki rolls were still on the menu. To their credit as soon as this was brought to their attention it was amended quickly but if we hadn't checked the bill then we'd have been overcharged the better part of £100. I honestly can't recommend a meal at Katana. Please support small, independent, family-run restaurants and enjoy their cooking and culture.

An amazing experience. The food was amazing with a little show prepared before the meal. Its set up into 3 courses, and it was all delicious. My only possible downside is that the food gets cold if you chat for too long. But when I wasn't talking so much the food was delicious. The waiters were all so nice and patient. The waitress called Gina served us, and she was extremely kind and just gave me warm vibes. One of my favourite restaurants hands down.

I personally would have given a 3 out of 10 if we didn’t have Rachel the waitress we had. I would usually always rate Katana 5/5 but this is the first time we’ve done a bottomless brunch and never know anything so regimented. 2 different servers asked us for our drinks order about 10 mins apart and when they realised we had 2 drinks each on our table all hell broke loose. 3 different servers came to our table to tell us we wouldn’t be allowed anymore drinks until we have finished these drinks. They seemed quite worried and scared like they were in trouble 🤷🏼‍♀️ Rachel was amazing though, she was bubbly and interactive with us. She went above and beyond to chase up our drinks after waiting 20 mins in a bottomless brunch with no drink and no one coming to check if we needed one. Just felt very much like katana couldn’t afford for us to actually drink bottomless so we’re keeping tabs. Didn’t feel relaxing like I was expecting. Hopefully next time will be better

Went here for the first time yesterday and the food was wonderful. Plenty of vegetarian choice, and they seem good with accomodating allergies. I had the teriyaki vegan chicken which was great, my party also had stir fry, gyozas, a sushi platter, a chicken sizzler and a Thai curry, all lovely. I also had an yuzu mocktail which was really nice, they have a very good range of drinks. Staff were friendly, polite and attentive. We didn't have the teppanyaki cooked in front of us option, but it looked fun and added to the atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back here again!! The one small thing I would change is the purple lighting - it made my eyes feel a bit funny at first, and though I did adjust over time it still meant that we struggled to see what was on our plates properly because the colours were all thrown off. I personally would prefer normal low, warm white lighting.

Our experience at Katana Peterborough was very disappointing. The staff seemed to be completely disinterested in us and we had to wait for our food for ages. When it finally arrived, it was left on the table behind us instead of being served directly to us and I had to serve everything myself. The melted ice cream was even more frustrating which was unacceptable. Overall, the service needs a lot of improvement.
