More like baby whale and chips. The food is cooked to order, so always fresh and hot. The staff are friendly and efficient and always pleasant. The food, whatever you have is very good and plentiful. Worth a visit.

The Park Hotel TynemouthWe stopped in here instead of opting to eat on the Newcastle-Amsterdam ferry. Brilliant move as the fish and chips (cod) were outstanding. I'm a bit picky about fish and chips in general as we get very fresh fish over on the West Coast of Scotland. Longsands massively delivered as the fish was really fresh and the chips excellent. Food was on the table very promptly and the serving staff were super friendly and helpful. Not the cheapest perhaps but for such quality it is a no brainer. Also opted for the curry sauce which was also excellent. Would definitely do this again prior to paying £25 each on the ferry for very medicore food. The bill for 4 of us was only £65 at Longsands!!!
